Ok so we know the daily record is a sh@t paper but how do they come up with their stories? Today it is that moussa Dembele is worth £40 million! We if it's true sell him now and take the money. The boy is good. One of the most promising at Celtic in years but £40 million? And Real Madrid will sign him and loan him back to us! Lazy journalists desperate to sell papers I think.

Must admit Edg totally agree with you. Let's be real here 40 million what a load of nonsense. Dembele is some player but considering a club like real madrid are sniffing around Pablo Dybala for the summer 2018 transfer window it puts things into perspective. Let the lad mature and develop here and as for Chelsea anyone else remember the last time they came in for a youngster from here? If someone offered 10 mill at the end of the season for a player that cost 500k you'd bite the hand. Simple as Scottish football cannot demand such a figure. Load of nonsense.

@Edg and jb84 BOTH OF YOU are talking nonsense. Ok £40m seems pie in the sky but if Moussa keeps developing AND scoring goals in the Champions League then Celtic have at least a £15m -£20m player on their books. Celtic hold all the aces here.
I hope we Celtic fans can enjoy Dembele for at least the next 2 seasons but if not sell to the highest bidder and reinvest cash in the team.
Here is another idea, if say Real Madrid want him, sell him but as part of deal sign one of their up and coming players, so Celtic get £20m AND a promising player.

Agree that he is not worth £40m but definitely don't agree about biting the hand off for £10m. When you look at strikers out there who cost far more and couldn't lace Mousa's boots and add to the fact he is only turned 20 then I'd be looking for £20m. You said Scottish football dictates we can't get more than £10 but we have already done that with Forster, Van Dijk and Wanyams so that comment makes no sense. Also, as a striker, they always demand a premium and also the Premiership has much more money nowadays. If they are paying £15m down there for Ross McCormack and Jonathan Kodjia then they should be paying £20m+ for Moussa. He is better and much younger than both. That said, I want to keep him for as long as possible as we are building a quality team just now.

He's already a £15m player, if he keeps developing £20m by the summer is not improbable.

He is our player and he says he wants to be our player for years to come, quoting valuations and posting about him leaving isn't helpful .
