EveningEd007, does this mean if celtic get to the final (scottish cup ) it will be switched to ibrox, generating more money for them . Ths.P.s assuming they don't reach it {Ed007's Note - No. The final will be at CP no matter who the participants are.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Celtic Park should be national football stadium over Hampden anyway. The atmospheres and views are incomparable.

Agree0 Disagree1

Personally I would've liked the SF's to be played at a venue suitable for the size of crowd the two clubs involved in each semi final will attract inbetween their home grounds if possible (ie Hibs v Inverness @ Tannadice/Dens Park), with the Final at Murrayfield regardless. I'd also like to see Celtic's CL qualifiers next summer at Murrayfield.

Lots of talk in the press that Neil Lennon might want to bring Aiden McGeady back. The guy is Celtic-mad and obviously a top quality player. With him on the right wing, Samaras on the left and Commons sitting off of the striker, we could be a real attacking force. I personally would welcome McGeady back and would definitely have him over Derk Boerrigter.

Believable17 Unbelievable18

Why? boerrigter needs a chance, our main aim should be to sign a forward

Agree1 Disagree0

Let's be honest, Boerrigter won't see much game time for Celtic! We were as well leaving him at Ajax and telling them we'd pick up his medical bill.

Agree0 Disagree2

People need to give Derk Boerrigter a chance to prove himself. We bring in players with potential to grow, and to do that they need to be given time to adapt to the team and our game. He has plenty of pace, and that is a rare quality. Let's have this conversation in a year.

Agree1 Disagree0

Players returning to former clubs very seldom work out well. I'd rather we continued to develop our own talent & find players with potential in the transfer market.

Agree0 Disagree0

Look up injury-prone in the dictionary and there's a picture of Derk Boerrigter. The fans would give him a chance if they could see him play but he will miss more games than he plays going by his first few months and his record at previous clubs.
McGeady does come with baggage and a reluctance to chase back - BUT he has more skill than most of the current forwards put together and he has flair and goals in his game and we are well short of both at the moment.
Guys like McGeady entertain and get the crowd on their feet and that's a plus.
It's a forward line that needs a spark and a bit of variety especially when we have so many and frequent injury problems.

Agree1 Disagree1

Aiden McGeady would be a great addition to what is already a great squad. I'd love to have him back. I think jan window sign McGeady a striker and we will be force both domestically and in europe

Agree1 Disagree0

Id rather have a creative midfielder who can split defences with a pass and a big target man than have Aiden back. Anyway I think he'll head to the EPL anyway, Everton apparently a possible destination.

Agree0 Disagree0

My biggest concern regarding the future for
celtic is, when fans like hamiltonbhoy who
cant or won't say a good word about anything or anyone regarding celtic.Yes people are entitled to an opinion, but what comes from this person is vile on this page and the banter page, to be perfectly honest
i cringe when I read his posts, and I would be surprised if other fans don't feel the same.If
hamilton bhoy had to endure what I had to watching celtic through the fifties and early sixties, he would have something to complain about.jimbhoy.

Agree2 Disagree0

Have to agree with JJ, I think we could be doing with a player like aiden again, if the price that's being branded about is true he'd be a steal, I heard 5-6 mil was an asking price but can't be sure you know what rumours are like. I don't think derk will see a lot of game time, not down to how good or bad he is, but he has been plagued with injuries almost all of his career so far and he's certainly not a project is he not 26-27 we wouldn't get back what we paid for him never mind a profit, I also think we need to give young dylan more chances he looks like he could be our hidden gem this season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not a chance Celtic would or should pay anywhere near 5 million for McGeady. One of the most over rated players to play for Celtic and his goal return for an attacking player was terrible. Couldn't cross the road. Great piece of business to get so much money for him.

Agree0 Disagree1

He's on way to much money to consider coming back! He will go to the premier league! I'd rather we spent any money on a forward!just probably the papers getting 5 from 2+2

Agree0 Disagree0

We wouldn't spend 5 million when he's available on a bosman 6 months later.

Id prefer Gauld and a striker like Shane Long. 2 signings that would really help the team and give game time to dylan and rogic

Well Jimbhoy you are obviously elderly and I have the utmost respect for supporters like yourself, but your comment about hamiltonbhoy's opinions being vile is disrespectful. The lads comments are backed up by this imposters record all through his career, as I've repeated on here many times before the guy is injury prone beyond belief . I'll guarantee you that this guy will not play more than 3 games on the trot without being out for weeks. As for your comment about supporting Celtic through the 50's early 60's, respect to you I would of done the same if i'd been around, I'm sure hamiltonbhoy followed the team right through the 90's which was pretty grim. Mcgreedy is a terrible player. Could never cross a ball and a prima donna to boot. He flattered to deceive with fancy tricks that rarely produced goals. GMS from Dundee Utd would do the same turn for a lot less money.

The Stevie above is not me but I still pretty much agree with his view on McGeady. Stevie

Agree0 Disagree0

Mcgeady was an excellent player for Celticd, remember the league cup final where he tore rangers to ribbons or AC milan at parkhead, he never hid like some of the prma donna's we have had and was rarely injured. Celtoic should bring him back. for those who don't agree I am not interested I have seen too many players being criticised over the years by supporters whose views echo the media paul mcstay being the clearest example.

Agree0 Disagree0

If the new guy doesn't bottle it and shows something this season and is worth keeping then give him a chance. sadly if he bottles it then we are stuck for his contract or a cut price deal back to holland. As for aiden, he got moved on at the peak of his 'powers'. Unless there is the strangest of PLs contract sagas to date due to be unfolded then I doubt he'll be pulling on the tap till his testimonial or if he's in the stand rglen8

Agree0 Disagree0

Jimbhoy, I don't have ANY good word to say about the club? Away you go!

The three concerns I've brought up on the Rumours + Banter page over the last few months have been the same as (I won't say majority) many other Celtic fans. The fact we sold our best players + replaced cheaply which has affected us not having an out and out goalscorer, the fact Tony Stokes has been given more time at Celtic than any other would be given as he is an Irish Republican, and my post re Boerrigter is well merited. The lad has spent more of his career on the physio bed than the pitch, including his time at Celtic so far!

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers Stevie, you're correct that I started following Celtic consistantly from early to mid 90s until a change in career in June which meant I couldn't renew my ST. But still try and get myself along to as many games as possible, including Europe away. {Ed007's Note - Folk from Hamilton have a job not a career!!! Unless you are from Silvertonhill :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha Ed007, I try to have the PMA when it comes to work lol. But aye, I've got a C-U-Next-Tuesday off a job that means I work every second Saturday now!

Agree0 Disagree0

Not this again

said it before, ill say It again.

remember the barney on the pitch Lennon, McGeady and Boruc - Lennon basically bollocked them for being lazy and useless.

The second Lennon had any influence at CP those two were first our the door

No way he would want them back,
