Well close to the winter window opening wonder who Parks and PL has picked out for us now?

Hoping to get rid of some the players taking up wages to free up space for the summer.

Still too much deadwood, we desperately need a clear out.

I would say straight away get rid of:

Blackett, boerrigter, stokes

then we need to look to replace players with better options like Ciftci and GMS. Maybe these replacements can come from young players stepping up.

The main issue for me though is our GK and CB.

With Izzy, Teirney, Lustig and Janko for full backs, plus ambrose to cover. We should concentrate on finding a partner for Simunovic, still unclear whether or not boyata will step up to the mark. Gordon isn't good enough either unfortunately.

The only positive of not getting through the EL group may be that we can let players go in january and not need to rush to replace them as the squad size won't need to be as big.

From what I've gathered from the agm and and our yearly spend spin. We have recived part payments for departing players and that is all that has been spent. The rest of the fees have been counted and included in subsequent years accounts as income and have offset losses in other areas. Route one accountancy from Pl. In his spreadsheet he doesn't have to risk a thing to keep us in the black.
Don't expect anything in January. No El money and depreciation of assets value (players) due to not making an advertising impact (pumped in europe) .

Reckon we will only get loan players in which I used to moan about but when you see some of the dross we have got in over the last year or so then it's not necessarily bad as majority have been poor with Denayer the exception so just as well they were loans and not permanent deals!

I'm expecting a very dull window.

I reckon some of us could be pleasantly surprised either in Jan or summer window .
My reasoning is the board take, maybe an optimistic opinion, of what is needed . When it is obvious that we are lacking in personnel they find the funds to make a few purchases .
I know that no matter who and how many they buy there will be some who will say not enough quality or quantity .

January is a very difficult window to attract or entice really good players - especially if their clubs are in European competition or going for trophies domestically.
We might do what we did last January and look to the Scottish leagues although we do have Christie already coming and Allen seems to have broken through?
I think if we manage to offload the unsettled players. We could well bring in a couple in areas that need improving?

This is what i've heard

These are our main targets for the January window

Fabrice N'Sakala - Anderlect
Marko Leskovic - Rijeka
Michael O'Halloran - St Johnstone
Lennart Thy - St Pauli

Also hoping to get some out the door too.

Izaguirre
Ambrose (only if John Souttar is signed for a mimimal fee)
Boerrigter
Johansen (If we get a decent offer)
Stokes
Ciftci (out on loan)
