Looks like young Celtic left-back, Daniel Church could be on his way to Dundee for a loan period to get more playing time.

Not exactly in the mould of KT but nevertheless a solid, dependable player. 20 years old so more playing opportunities would do him the world of good.

liam - I like Harper too, especially when he says that he wants to make it as he can provide somthing different. The guy's got a good first touch and isn't afraid of running and taking on a defence.

Other youngsters to look out for are Scott Robertson, Barry Coffee and Kerr McInroy.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Good info, Stengo πŸ‘ I don't know much about our youth apart from what I read and an old Bhoy at Chapel but Robertson really impressed me against Cluj last season. I'm hoping with the 9 subs rule we'll see more of our youngsters on the bench and even getting some game time in games we're comfortably winning.}

02 Sep 2020 21:53:15
No worries Ed. As I said in a previous post a couple of weeks ago or so this is the most potent Development Squad I've seen in a long time so anyone really could come out of it. I didn't see what NL had to say about Harper but checked it out after liam's post. I like Harper and there's bits and pieces on YouTube showing what he does. The 3-2 Sevco win in the Youth Cup Final shows his predatory instinct.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I used to try and get along to the youth games but those days are long gone lol You can be our resident expert 😁

What about Luca Connell he looked a class player in the pre season games Iv seen would have thought he would have had more of a chance or had been sent out on loan by now.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Sep 2020 13:33:55
The problem with Luca Connell is that he's got Brown, Christie/ Ntcham and CalMac all in front of him. This season has to be the one that Brown gets used less and others like Connell and Turnbull get a better chance of seing what they are like and developing. It may be that Brown is raking Lennon's heels in training just to show he can still dish it out, as that seems to be the case with him continuously being picked.

The look in his eye says it all Mally. A genuine fan who will be living the dream.

By the sounds of it James Mccarthy is next in when Everton complete the signing of Alan from Napoli.

No idea how I missed that one Ed, I thought he was still at Everton and when I seen some of the players they are supposedly on verge of signing assumed he was surplus to requirements hence the hype he might be coming to us. can't believe he has played over 30 games for Palace and I've never noticed him on Match of the day. 30 games in less than a year isn't too bad for someone labelled a sick note. Would you take a punt on him ed if Ntcham moved on?

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - Definitely, Del. I don't think it's as big a gamble as some other folk.}

James McCarthy had another poor game for the Republic of Ireland last Thursday .
It has been years since he has even had an average game for Ireland . He has been given numerous opportunities by a whole series of Managers. Trap, O’Neil, M
Mc Carthy and now Kenny . Away back in Trap’s time as Manager when he was asked about McCarthy he said, he cannot understand him, he thought, there was something wrong McCarthy, every time I speak to him his face goes bright red . I just can’t get through to him .

Now that duffy is in the door, I really think we should be preparing for the loss of Ajer with someone of the ilk of Andrew Considine, the man is time served, paid his dues and deserves a crack at the big time with ourselves, i know the dons would demand pretty high fee but i say get your cheque book out Mr Lawell. a tough, no nonsense centre half who would be integral in the quest for 10, he reminds me of a prime Tom Boyd . thoughts?

Considine why don't we just go the whole hog and give Aberdeen the Β£10m for McKenna!

I would hope that we have better targets lined up than that.

I'm. hearing that Celtic are looking to entice ryan Fraser to Celtic park in a 4 year deal. Newcastle offering more money but Celtic looking to use the draw of leagues to be won and Europe, and the chance to play closer to" home" could give celtic a 15k jump start

Competing at the other end of a table with nothing to prove could be another trump card. A signing on fee of 2m paid over 4 years and 40k per week could well tip the balance.

For Ryan apparently it is not all about the money money money

Watch this develop. He is right footed but has played on left more often than not. and could switch with Forrest or push Forrest

He can slot in to a 3 5 2

Also a Celtic fan in to the bargain

This could be a 4 year deal

Or a 2 year deal with a 3rd year option agreed by both parties

Watch this develop.

I would really like to see the boy come here but I just can't see it happen unless we lose Rogic and Ntcham and i'm not talking about the position they play but after Duffy coming in I can only see us signing players once some leave.

Would love to see Ryan Fraser at Celtic. Boys a cracking player. Honestly can’t see it but fingers crossed yae never know.

02 Sep 2020 08:19:58
That would give us Eddy, Elyounnoussi, Ajeti, Klimala, Griffiths, Fraser, James Forrest and Mikey Johnston for the forward positions.
Possibly 3-4 starters and even if three were on the bench, that would suggest a couple would be surplus?
Eddy transfer spec, Klimala loan-out and Griff out of favour could be the reason we were trying to get Fraser - or maybe not? Wait and see.

Was rotten last year and for the figures being branded about Β£40k per week it’s a no for me. Yeah loads of assists the previous year and if you get that quality of player it’s worth pushing boat out for but too risky if your saying Β£2m a year in wages and Β£500k signing on fee every year for 4 years so basically Β£50k a week for 4 years, never getting signed off by the board.
We just had to wait until Brighton halfed the Β£2m Loan fee and agreed to pay Β£25k a week of Duffys wages or we would have signed him weeks ago so if you believe our board would sanction this outlay your unlikely to be correct IMO . unless Ntcham or Ajer is sold them I take it all back lol.

If we do sign him and with us also buying Turnbull for Β£3m, what is Lennon planning on playing a 2-6-2 since Lennon can't seem to drop Brown or Forrest.

Barkas

Duffy
Jullien

Brown
McCarthy
Christie
McGregor
Turnbull
Forrest

Ajeti
Eddie.

Cannot see the logic in MaCarthy. Too old always injured. Is this an Irish thing. If your Irish you good enough. I would rather have good young Scots or at least young players who play up here.
How many people wanted him or MaCarther when they played for Hamilton.
And i wonder if NL would now have liked to have brought in Hladky instead of Barkas and waited to see if Foster would change his mind
I hope for his sake Duffy hits the ground running remember he could not get into a club near the bottom of the EPL.

02 Sep 2020 08:38:52
Lennon will play a 3-7-0 formation or maybe switch it up to a 3-6-1 if we are getting beaten.

@Jonace he's not Irish he's scottish born and breed in Scotland. He plays for Ireland because Scotland didn't pick him at youth level and Ireland did through his grandparents.

Agree3 Disagree0

02 Sep 2020 09:07:18
I understand that but you missed the point Because he plays for eire he becomes good enough. Not so if you play for our home country.
If nhe was so good why did we not pay Hamilton for him suddenly he plays for Ireland and he is great.
Fletcher and Fraser are being slaughtered on this site but if They played for Ireland different story.

I've read in more than one media source that Broony may not be able to see out the season and we are looking for someone to replace him.
If he has an injury that is going to end his career and hasn't been made public then fair enough, but if not then we have in Broony a leader who has faced his critics down in the past 5 years or so with outstanding performances.
He'll be the first to tell you that he isn't the complete footballer in a technical sense but he has a presence that no-one in our team can come close to. Whether he plays every game or not is neither here nor there for me but his presence is priceless. He's our future manager in my opinion because he 'gets' what it is to be Celtic.
I hope he plays ever game this season and lifts the trophy on a special occasion for him, our club and our fans.
After all, who else would you want to lift it? HH.
