Uefa statement tonight:

"Mr Postecoglou does not currently hold the Uefa Pro Licence.

A recognition of competence procedure has been initiated. The process could take several weeks. We don't have any further information to provide at this stage. "

All formalities really and as others have said there's nothing in this that will delay him taking the job.

It looks like he rumours are true and he will be confirmed as the new manager in due course.

Del Bhoy this goes from bad to worse, our Board KNEW about his lack of UEFA coaching badges yet STILL want him as next manager, Celtic have an appeal with UEFA in place but what if UEFA say NO
Also do not know how much truth there is in this rumour
OOstende have triggered the £2m buy out clause in Jack Hendry's loan agreement then apparently have a deal with an EPL team to sell him to them for £10m+
I think the Sevco Board have infiltrated OUR Board.

In Oz we have a saying. "Give the person a fair go". I see this doesn't apply or mean anything in Scotland. Give AG a fair go .

Aussie ray I don’t think they are having a go at him just our shambles off a club.

There is still ways for him to manage IF Celtic have a coach with the relevant licence he can still come in do his job but have the registered person name as head coach until his clearance is through Sevco did this with Gerard I am sure.

As ed and others alluded to previously he can bridge the gap on an interim basis as long as he does the qualification within a certain timescale. I'm sure Gerrard did the same at Sevco.

I think what they are doing just now would transfer his existing qualifications without him having to apply for the course for the Uefa A licence. I could be wrong though.

Fair play to the Belgians Timalloy if they get that sort of cash for Hendry. I'm more than happy we are getting £2M for him. I read he was doing well in Belgium but in recent games for Scotland he still doesn't convince me.

What happened to the ITK troops who were claiming he had the badges? Or Howe was a cert, or Harkins was a cert? Or Howe identified 10 players? Or Hark8ns set up the Ange deal? Or all the players we have been linked to?

I think the lesson is, when you hear somebody make a claim about us, just say, feckin jog on mate. You know jack like the rest of us. Introduce it as, This is probably utter rubbish, but I heard. it will most likely be utter rubbish and saves a lot of angst. Ta.

They did Tony. This lack of badges is just a smokescreen to put more negativity on his possible appointment. It means nothing.

Magicpole, a lot of the 'I heard' stuff you're referring to and lambasting was 100% accurate. What no-one outside Howe and the board knew was that Howe hadn't totally committed by signing a pre-contract but it was a provisional 'done deal' that he and his guys were coming in.
There was nothing inaccurate about that until he walked away for whatever reason or reasons. HH.

First time poster - from Australia.

Been a Celtic Supporter for 43 years. It's my humble opinion that Ange Postigcoglu would b a solid signing for Celtic.

I was devastated when he resigned from the Australian manager's job.

Wherever he's gone he's done well. We all seem to take pot shots at the boards choices but I think he'll be a great choice once he settles in.

Give him a chance Bhoys.

To say a vast majority of the fans are underwhelmed is an understatement but the more Iv read about big Ange the more I like.

I can understand not wantin Ntcham at park head but what's the deal with wanting him released? Are we not needing funds to rebuild? Would 1 or 2M not potentially bring in another player or cover a salary? In my eyes the club would be making yet another mistake by releasing an asset for free. Whether you value the player or not doesn't mean he doesn't have a monetary value.

I agree you don’t let an asset leave for free however say he gets wage hike in final year for instance or even on a decent £20k plus salary if we don’t have any suitors willing to pay fee it costs us a £1m minimum to keep him around and if he is stinking the place out it might be wise to come to a mutual termination.
Best thing to do is wait and see what we are offered and if nothing happens during window then agree the mutual termination if he’s not in new managers plans.

GGGG if the situation was that bad then 100% but it's not realistically going to happen. I think club's will still take a chance on him it's not like he's murdered a puppy.

Murdered a puppy pmsl mate. There’s no doubt the boy has ability but has had his head turned.
Surely a bottom 8 EPL would want to take a chance on him and would happily pay £1-2m or a Porto, PSV standard of club.
With no manager in place it’s inconceivable that we would allow him to leave for nothing atm.
