Was on YouTube whatching old firm games of 2010-11 and some of the players who we still have looked so much different,
Emilio looked so much quicker and agile and skipped past men down the flank but does a tone else think he's a shadow of that form now? There's just something about him since he came back from the leg break a year and a half ago but boy would I love to see him play that way aswell as kayal aswell.
Still love the guys but here's hoping we can keep all the boys together

Believable5 Unbelievable2

He's not playing Steven Whittaker anymore lol agree with your point.

Thought we bagged a bargain at first, seems that we paid a fair price now though.

Izzy looked great the game befor last when Fergie was there, he read all the plays and was great at intersepting passes. He still has it and I think he will be there again soon, if only he gets out of his head that he will get hurt making runs unfortunately he seems to be unlucky.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Izzy's crossing is superb. Before he went off he looked quick and was finding lads in the box. He generally does get past his man and gets it over - & that's what he's there for. I think he's a huge asset

Agree0 Disagree0

Izaguirres crossing is terrible mate, often lands behind the goals. The wee man will catch your eye with the twisting and turning but defo not with his passing/crossing.

Can anyone shed a light on what is wrong with Jackson Irvine and Fillip Twardzik and if injured when thry might be back I think they are two of the best in the dvelopment squad

Believable3 Unbelievable3

Twardzik has just had an operation

Agree0 Disagree0

The boy Irvine did not do himself any favours v Hibs. He looked a bit caught in the headlights for me. There is a player in there though, just how good can he be.

Didn't see most of the Tannadyce match, but gather Russell had a very good game?
When we were looking to add a front man in January - as the attempt to sign Doyle proved - I was hoping we would have had him in the door sharpish.
However, we may go for him in the summer and face another Fletcher scenario where we 'miss the boat' as there are bound to be lucrative offers from England.

Believable15 Unbelievable1

Thought Russell Daly and Stevens were great today I am sure Daly is out of contract in the summer and would be the big target man we haven't had for years Russell would score for fun in SPL and stevens is the most entertaining player to come out of Scotland in twenty years

Rango bango

Agree1 Disagree1

We needed to leave him at united to assure Jackie humped them. And to support Thompson's position.

Agree1 Disagree1

Must've been watching a different game than me today regarding Mackay-Stevens Ramgo Bango! He was mince, just like he was at Celtic Park last week. He's very inconsistent, gives the ball away too often, tries flicks and fancies at the wrong time and in the wrong places. He can do amazing things with the ball but its no use if he doesn't have the football brain to go with it. Perfect example in the first half when he was 8 yards out with a man over for a clear goal scoring opportunity and decided to try and score himself. He would get found out a Celtic. Jonny Russell would be a good signing though, I've no doubt about it. He's got blistering pace, works really hard for the team off the ball and can score goals and play on the wing or through the middle.

John Daly isn't good enough for Celtic never has been, never will be. End of story

Agree2 Disagree1

Hard to tell today I was far too busy laughing! Best comedy I've seen in years, can hardly wait to hear what p1sh Green comes out with next. Congratulations to Jackie and Simon.

You can't judge these guys against 3rd div opposition, I do think Johnny Russell is a very good player but today wasn't a day to judge him. Get more idea how good he is when he's up against bigger teams. . Stevie

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought for at least 20 minutes utd were rubbish. most spl teams would have punished them for that. giving the ball away every other pass. its hard to believe their opposition wanted to play celtic in that cup. lucky draw i'd say.

Agree1 Disagree0

Stevie. 'bigger teams'. ". comedy genius my man. . : -)

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha well said stevie. but I do have to agree with others and say russell would be a great addition to our team but I feel we might have missed the boat with him now, can see him going down south now. far too often celtic are linked with good players in scotland I. e fletcher for them to drag their heels and nothing happens, it will get to the stage russell will get fed up waiting to see if anythin happens with celtic and just take another offer. we won't sign russell or gary mckay steven in the summer, we will go for unknown players on the cheap.

Agree1 Disagree0

Missed the boat on russell? Derek Riordan anyone?,. ,. kbarry

Agree0 Disagree0

What's the point in signing Russell when he would t get a game at celtic. He's btr at utd for now.

Agree0 Disagree0

Russell really stood out for me today, think he would be a great addition to our squad, he looked very sharp and has an eye for goal. Dundee utd will probably hold us to ransom in the summer, however I reckon he will be a Celtic player in the next window. Ian L

Couple of questions regarding Wanyama. Firstly is he really as good as made out? what's his strengths? Where does he need to develop? Secondly it looks as if he will be off in the summer, realistically how much do you expect him to go for and who do you think will get him? Thanks and good luck against the Italians.

Believable5 Unbelievable9

Nice try fergie, must try harder
celticbhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Well I think the fact Man United and Arsenal are the favourites to sign him suggests he's a good player with fantastic potential. He could already walk in to both of they teams and I don't think it's an exageration to say he'll be one of the besy ( if not the best Centre Midfielder in the world one day. Strengths - strong, brave, calm, composed, great in the air, great passer, tackler, scores goals, energetic, quick. Weakness - not many, maybe prone to dive in sometimes but that will come out of his game. Absolutely phenomenal player with possible the best potential I've seen at Celtic Park.

Agree0 Disagree0

I am sorry big vic is good but is he really that good?, good games in europe but when he has being here I see him no bettert than stan the man, if we get offered 10 mill bite any1s hand off, main thing should be to keep hooper! if he wants to go but russell, so we can have russell & watt up front with forresst on wing, dunn67

Agree0 Disagree0

Strengths: Big and Strong and mobile too. (rare combination). Good tackler and holds up the ball excellently. Has a powerful shot and is usually accurate. Boundless energy.

Areas for development: Doesn't have a killer ball. If he did then he'd not be far away from the crazy figure NL rated him as last season. Passing is too basic and whilst he often breaks up attacks, he doesn't sweep possession quickly enough into dangerous positions. The latter can be coached; the killer ball I think is an instinctive gift that sadly I don't think he has.

I still think he's a top player and a top lad.

Agree1 Disagree0

To the guy who said wanyama will be one of the best cm players in the world one day. Take your tints aff ffs. Good player but not as great as your making out. Neither Manchester United or arsenal have came out and said they wanted to sign him, all paper talk. Mind a couple years ago kayal/izzy were off to them as well? Says it all really. {Ed007's Note - So who have Man Utd and Arsenal came out and said they were interested in? I guarantee you that both clubs (amongst others) have more than a serious interest in the player. When Arsenal's (and QPR's) summer attempt to sign him failed there was never any chance of him leaving last month unless a crazy bid was received.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Take your tints aff? Away back to the zombie page ya clown maccabhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Not being bias but wanyama is one of the best cm iv seen at Celtic. I loved guys like Naka, Petrov etc but Wanyama is 21 and already a class act.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed007

Man Utd and arsenal were both after zaha, arsenal were interested in villa too. there's a couple they mentioned. All I pointed out is the fact its only paper talk, same as juarez, kayal and izzy were. Same as this 'barca asked to be kept informed' rumour that came out too.

N to maccabhoy, this is a rumour site, plenty of tic fans on the gers page and vice versa. i'm also an arsenal fan, so why can't I post a view? Is this page exclusive for tic fans? If your best comment is 'ya clown' then that says more about yourself than me.

PesLegend {Ed007's Note - It seems it is you who is believing the papers too much PES, look back and see when I first spoke about Arsenal's interest in Wanyama AND who recommended him to Wegner.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed007

How am I reading the papers too much? The players I mentioned have been spoken about at press conferences by said managers, one was signed. don't even think they were asked about wanyama!

End of the day, I do think he is a good player, just not that he will eventually be one of the best in the world.

PesLegend {Ed007's Note - You are saying because the press never asked about a player there is no interest yet you say the press were reporting the interest when there was none? I think you have confused yourself.}

if Super Hooper did leave in the summer then I hope we get both of United's best Scottish talent at Parkhead.

Nothing better than having good Scottish talent at the home of the Scottish Champions.

I know people will say Russell ain't much better than Watt, all I can say is that he has bags more experience and Tony can only live off the Barcelona goal for so long - does any remember Mark Birchall or whatever his name was?

Believable9 Unbelievable4

Here we go again he scores a couple v a didy team and yous are jumping thru hoops to get him signed up. As I've said before he's not any better than watt or stokes and he's certainly no gary hooper. Going for these type of players we will just face more disappointment at Hampden. We need to start improving the squad with a bit of quality and a target man is still needed.

yes russell is an excellent player and unless you are stupid so is tony watt! he played great and when he came on against kilmarnock celtic uped a gear. ano we were dominating but anyone could see the contribution. he is direct and eager and I for one would like 5 strikers at celtic
1. watt
2. stokes
3. russell
4. austin/rhodes
5.?
samaras isn't a striker btw so don't start and gary is off in summer. ed is it true he has changed agents now and could possibly sign to increase his wage to summer and get the hoops more money? would be great if true
