FROM CELTIC FC
Following speculation concerning the managers position at Celtic, the club can confirm that it is currently continuing its discussions with a number of excellent candidates.
We will continue this process and select who we regard as the best appointment for Celtic. We will update our supporters as soon as this process is complete

From what I gather the next manager is going to be Jackie McNamara. Heard it from 2 people one being related to him

Yeah definetely! Would take jackie in a heartbeat, knows what it takes to play for this club is also young and ambitious, developed a great young attacking style which suits us.

If I were to chose between JMcN or RK I would go with Jackie. So far In his ventures he hasn't made a balls up in either the partick thistle job or Dundee United. He has a good attitude and was a very reliable, passionate player for Celtic. On the flip side Roy Keane was a bit of a flop as a player for us and his management credentials aren't good let's just say. If it were between they 2 I think Jackie would have most votes on that basic analysis. Keane though does have surly some of the wealth and experience of Sir Alex in his brain somewhere but it's not come to fruition yet.

Good Shout PedroCelt. Of the 2 Jackie looks a better bet. not that i'm throwing my hat in with his chances.i just think that keane and coyle would both be mistakes. we need someone on the rise not failure after failure. who that is I really don't know.

Seen a few folk on Fb claiming that Roy Keane's a 90% done deal, have you seen or heard anything Ed?

{Ed007's Note - I'm not long back from CP and it seems people are jumping the gun a bit, mate.}
Thank God. But you're not filling me wi confidence that's it's not going through lol.

{Ed007's Note - I didn't say it wasn't going through.... :)
Apparently it is ongoing but the wheels of motion have started between CP and Keano. There's no guarantee any agreement will be reached though. His outspoken nature might be too much for the board and whilst he was a great player I don't think he has the patience and temperament to deal with our penny pinching ways.

Keane is a great man but I don't want him any where near that job just remember Sunderland

I work in Newcastle and I've asked one of the Sunderland fans here what his thoughts of Keane are and he liked him. I think he could do a good job for us if the board give him the money he needs

Wouldn't be the worst move IMO a wee run in Europe (obv the aim) and OfCourse a hattrick of cups considering both Edinburgh clubs are down I personally think this will be a bit of a poor season. As I'm sure people will understand this too, hence lennys "unexpected" departure ; ) HH

Ed, long time no post. I hope you are well.
Have you heard anything on Dan Petrescu being mentioned for the job? I have seen a lot of mentions on him being linked with us but only in the foreign media.
I would still prefer Oscar Garcia who has exactly the right philosiphy Celtic need right now, develop youth playing attractive football. That'll do for me.

{Ed007's Note - I'm good thanks Stu. It just seems to be some Russian paper running the Petrescu link, I wouldn't pay it too much attention.}
