The auld fella that sits next to me said the talk on his bus was about Del piero, we both agreed it's not going to happen but he said guys on his bus were adamant there's talks going at least.

Jamie Mac(it's a rumour)

Believable11 Unbelievable4

Def true but he is 37? Still tho looks very likely

Agree0 Disagree0

I heard this rumour too don't it though
CM88

Agree0 Disagree0

It's on a few stories on newsnow,
get him i say!

IN LENNON WE TRUST

Agree0 Disagree0

6 month loan deal, bonuses if we qualify for last 16? I'd be happy with that.

Melb Bhoy

Agree0 Disagree1

Its also in the daily record....so probs not true!

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would it be a loan deal when he's a free?

Agree0 Disagree0

It won't be a loan deal - he's a free agent. kevslug.

Agree0 Disagree0

Del piero is a free agent so no loan deal involved, if we do manage to get him?!

Bigbadjohn

Agree0 Disagree0

Every now and again a player like this gets linked with us and it doesn't materialise. I really hope for once it just does, and one day, we can say, Del Piero wasn't bad for us! I say take a gamble, there's not many i'd rather the ball fall to in and around the area.

Agree0 Disagree0

FFS No thanks, get a permanent striker in who's no a grandad

Iain

Agree0 Disagree0

Get kenwyne jones in great target man

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm with Iain but trust that Lenny would only want him if he thought he could keep up with and compliment the young buoys around him. Hopefully this is to allow good football & not a Board ordered gimmick to get bums on seats.

Ed in Tenerife just now so pretty quite on any transfer news over eh,anything on the cards more so after tonight's win heard the ki deal is done and dusted?

Hope all is good and least we got there in the end a 4 year wait but will be worth it

Having a party in the champions league !

Barcelona, Schalke and Spartak Moscow. That would be my ideal group. I think 2 players will be signed, a centre back, probably Efe Ambrose, and a striker on loan, hopefully Marc Janko.

TheBhoyLee

Believable3 Unbelievable5

Real Madrid , Man City and PSG thats who I want . I just hope every celtic fan is enjoying this as this is a great time to be one .

If we want to play the best teams then I would pick Barca Man City Juventus or if we want the best chance to finish 2nd or 3rd I would take Porto D.Kiev Anderlecht.

Real, City, Juve for me please. Ambrose won't be coming in. Hopefully the lad from Auxerre.

When you look at players surplus to requirements due to squad sizes at the big European clubs, surely we should be going after proven European 'big' players on loan? Rather than scrawl through the market for bargains?
We're only guaranteed champions league football for a season, don't know if we have the money to be paying millions and giving out 4 year contracts on top? We have an array of talent coming through which will bode well for the future but loans will help now?
Don't get me wrong, I love seeing signings as much as anyone else, just a thought!

Sorry folks I'm back to rave about big Sam and his importance to the team in Europe ...All done well including big Wilson and Hooper whom I was critical of over the last few games had a decent shift without taking the goal into account .... hats of to the lads and maybe a wee bit of prudent spending from PL .... TTTS

Believable9 Unbelievable2

I've never been in the Georgios Samaras fan club.....until now, Neil Lennon did say when he have him a new 3 year deal it was his Job to get the best out of him. Don't care who we get in draw 2moro we are there on merit. Ian L

Agree0 Disagree0

Think we need in two experienced players and we'd be in great shape. like the look of watt, stokes will need to work hard to get back in the team imo

Agree0 Disagree0

Likewise, never been a Sammy fan but I have to eat my previous words and admit he was outstanding over the 2 legs.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Aug 2012 22:14:57
Great result tonight from the lads, but here's the realisation about the CL. We will be playing Multi, Multi millionaire teams ( sorry Bhoys but we are only a multi millionaire team) and we will struggle for results and that's the truth, although it would be good if I was proven wrong.
We have the chance to get on a fantastic financial footing during an economic collapse by screwing the nut and not panic buying glory hunters and journeymen who demand ludicrous wages and do feck all for a club like ours. Remember, we have a few years to get this right. We could pay millions to get a player the same calibre as Tony Watt who cost us £100,000 from Airdrie, or we can build on our youth policy, spend our millions on Lennoxtown, and bring the whole game in Scotland out of the doldrums. We need to invest in our training facility's, this will be the perfect opportunity to do that. Apart from that, I'm looking forward to some cracking Euro ties!

BigRab

Believable13 Unbelievable4

The multi multi multi millionaire teams you speak of BigRab are really multi multi multi miliions in debt and will soon be found wanting with the new rules and regs regarding clubs spending more than they are earning ...I think you are correct in what you are saying about Lennoxtown and Celtic are already reaping the fruits of this investment ...long may it continue ...We can build on this and become a reasonably successful European side ....TTTS

Agree0 Disagree0

I would love us to buy the Commonwealth Games Stadia outside Celtic Park for training and Development squad use...

wilson, wanyama were outstanding but all credit to the crowd the atmos was something else
FozzY

Believable9 Unbelievable4

Wilson was great tonight here's hoping it continues.

Bigbr

Agree0 Disagree0

IMO Brown was the best Tic player over 90mins. Sammy had a good 45. Wanyama only played last 20. Agree tho that Wilson finally looked like a CH and played well. Hbhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

We should try to sign Victor Wanyama's brother McDonald Mariga on loan from Inter Milan , apart from the fact he is a great player who is not getting a regular game for Inter , he would help to keep Victor settled , what do you think Ed ? Drewzybhoy . {Ed007's Note - We should only be signing a player who is going to improve the team/squad, not just to keep another player happy. Personally don't think we need his brother, Victor is a better player and we are well covered in MF.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Where about in T&T are you mate? i'm off to Tobago coco reef resort in november

Wilson's worst displays for us have been when he's left central defence, tonight he played on the right and Davie Proven said he's more comfortable when he's there. Long may it continue.

I would love another big commanding centre half to come in but if not big Wilson has certainly shown more here than he did last season. He's had a cracker tonight

Gary

Believable13 Unbelievable3

Was at the game, Kelvin Wilson had a great game. Big Sammy's attacking runs excellent, Forrest running at them also, ....
Watt brought in some fresh energy, and by the end it could have been my predicted 3-0. I always said Helsingborg couldn't score.

Jordan Rhodes has apparently agreed terms with Blackburn. Teams have strangely yet to agree a fee though.

Believable8 Unbelievable5

Exactly, which just proves that even Sly don't know what they're talking about. Fee is always agreed before the player agree personal terms. Sensing illegal press action from Cackburn again.

Agree0 Disagree0

£8m agreed fee {Ed007's Note - That is the total fee with add ons, the up-front guaranteed fee is £4.5 million with him being paid £45k a week.}

Is Rogne injured? Why is he not starting and Wilson is? I hope Lennon knows what he is doing as I thought Rogne was solid in the first game!

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Yeah he has an injury and was getting a fitness test earlier today

Agree0 Disagree0

Wilson has been solid so far.

Hi Ed, long time reader but first time poster. Cracking site here man and cheers for heads up on team. Strong enough but Wilson scares me a lot. neil lennon has chased marcus henriksen for the whole summer , and celtic were to meet the 2.5 million asking price only for the boy to change his mind and opt for az alkmaar instead

Believable3 Unbelievable4

If I was being 'chased' all summer and nothing concrete had come in. I would think that they were not serious and start looking elsewhere. You can't blame the boy.

Samson

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't blame the boy. We all know how long it takes us to complete a transfer. Ian L

Agree0 Disagree0

Celtic have only got themselves to blame! Lennon admitted interest in the player months ago but Celtic did nothing about it! Why wait until 2 days before the window closes before making a move! If they really wanted the guy they should have signed him instead they have dragged their heels! Seem to be the Celtic way unfortunately

Ice man

Agree0 Disagree0

Is he any better than the Midfielders already on show and with the latest intro of the lad Twardzik why clutter things ...TTTS

Henriksen chooses Az Alkmaar over Celtic. Oh well, there are many other targets out there. Champs league here we come.

Ontario Bhoy.

Believable8 Unbelievable6

I hope we have other targets and not some pish championship player or some 33 year old journeyman, hopefully i will eat my words on Friday night, Failing that it will be the last season book I buy for me and my son, Because i could not go Lawell saying we tried but we were just to late,We have had all fecking summer. Rant over. Mon the hoops

Agree0 Disagree0

Just another one who got away.

Agree0 Disagree0

This lad is going to be top drawer , i feel we have missed the boat yet again mccarthy , fletcher etc

Agree0 Disagree0

Mccarthy and fletcher have a lot to prove before saying they are top drawer. Fletcher is the most overrated striker in the epl. If we had signed him we would be lucky to get 3 or 4 million now.

Agree0 Disagree0

I know like ledley kayal wanyama brown,,, deep river bhoy

29 Aug 2012 13:14:05
Not sure what the team will be with so many injuries and niggles to top players, but I hope we can name a half decent 11 to get the job done.
Helsingborgs have nothing to lose and their obvious strategy would be to try for a quick goal.
I always get a wee bit nervy on Euro nights, but
realistically The Celts should not concede 3 at home.
However, we do need some cool heads out there and it would help, if Hooper - who has been working hard - could find his goal touch.
I am very happy we are scoring more from corners and set plays and it has obviously been addressed at Lennoxtown to good effect.
The GB will, as usual generate the atmosphere and there will be a massive crowd so the rest is up to NL and The Bhoys to hopefully produce the goods...

Hello peeps, hope your all looking forward to the game tonight.Even with a depleted midfield if we come out the blocks at the right pace and intensity we should be okay.My one worry stems from last week, not the so called plethora of chances they created(two good saves, one routine is hardly intense pressure),but Sammi not passing to Commons to make the tie certain.Maybe it's because we have had the shaft so many times in the CL,but i thought we might regret that. What i do know is we will be crucial to the start of this game,i really think we could get at the Swedes so lets go for it.I dont know if theres any truth to the Susan Boyle rumour,i sincerely hope its wrong,as Celtic fans dont need a cheerleader to sing YNWA! And she is bloody awful into the bargain.Seen a post from a GB member saying they had something special planned, lets take the lead from them,COME ON YOU BHOYS IN GREEN..........green jhedi

Believable3 Unbelievable5

I have had a touch of the pessimisms myself mate but we will prevail. Im sure of it! We are simply better than them AND at Celtic Park with us cheering them on Helsingborgs will **** themselves. I think there mouthpiece manager has made a backpass with his comments today in the press about us being "Sloppy & Lucky" will earn his team a 3-0 hiding. Brown to score first (from the spot most likely).
Cant wait for tonight
Hail Hail.

Agree1 Disagree0

A wee bit harsh on subo jhedi, not my cup of tea either, but probably a big big night for her. surely we can let her enjoy it, and sing along. remember gerry marsden at the pool game , it was his hit and his face was like a wee laddie at xmas singing it at paradise.. shamrock

Im shocked and stunned at the support for Subo! Chris humphrey from motherwell 200k ,
John88

Believable11 Unbelievable11

You know what, that seems a pretty good move to be honest, im sure if you put Humphrey, into a team that have genuine finnishers, he would do really well, At Motherwell he seems to beat the last man, and find that they have no quality in the box to finnish it off. Motherwell have a slow and technically ponderous front line. Hooper and co would have a field day. Good suggestion, if Motherwell would release him for such a low bid.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not good enough, not a centre half nor target man so not required ! Simple.

Agree0 Disagree0

Think this could be a great move. Dont want to draw comparisons but he reminds me a bit of agathe. If we do bring in a big striker, signing humphrey for a lowish fee could be a masterstroke. ... MrCheshington

I 100% agree, it shows he cares about the club and if true and it transpires this way then he deserves all the credit going like Stan got.

OP. Listen to the lol's. All I did was respond to several rumours about gaz. I know what clubs have enquirer as of now, what clubs will be back next year and what clubs he knocked back.

Brian you know nothing .....The only ones who know what Gary is going to do is Simon Dent his agent and is family . If Celtic received a bid for him from a prem club in next few days over 5.5m he would be sold.

And Peter lawell then?? His friends know as well. Listen I know. Its my job to know and you will see shortly. I have never posted on here but read so many posts that I could confirm or rubbish but I haven't. Only reason I posted this is its a bit more personal. However, after the reaction from a few il keep my info now. I have 2 big big ones on RFC that I would have shared, but il leave that until the BBC airs it. Il leave you to your rumours page then bhoys. All the best. Ps my name isn't actually Brian.
