what a season it has been for myself my son and dad who enjoyed the double and a terrific cl campaign also my son was at celtic park for the celtic community day and graced the hallowed turf also would like to thank the hibs fans we met pre/post the final on sunday my father is 87 and he met a hibs fans roughly the same age and they were talking about the coronation cup final in 53 along with the exhibition trophy in 38 although the old hibs man did inform us they were the first to wear the green really was good banter this is what football should be about as the guy at hampden said both fans sitting outside the ground no problems

Hibs actually green & white hoops before Celtic did.

In light of recent events in Woolwich last week, I have to say I was absolutely disgusted with some of the songs coming out of our end at Hampden this weekend. This either won't get posted or I will get abuse and told that I am imagining it. We were all there and the whole country heard it! Is this ever going to end bhoys?

Of course there's no place for it and it was heard on TV giving ammunition to Celtic detractors and critics.
It has been said on these pages many times; Celtic have a vast repertoire of anthems and songs that are solely about the club and it's merits, plus the support are often capable of producing many a humorous and inoffensive chant.
So there is no excuse.

Couple of responses that are I guess expected but also a good reply which is giving me hope that we can move away from this nonsense. We provide so much unneccessary ammunition to guys like Leckie.

See to be honest if you go to any game all over the world you will have some people who get on in such a manner but to post a comment on here is asking for trouble cause most people will be against the comment, it is not just Celtic fans who do this so by saying this comment u basically have condemned every football club

I take it none of the songs were about the recent incident in Woolwich? Did any of the songs glorify beheading people in the street? Was there any connection whatsoever to the events in Woolwich? What is the Woolwich connection to the post?

Sunderland considering offering James McLean and 2 million for hooper personally I'd take that and not sign the guy from lech Poznan more money to buy a striker that way Russell is good but couldn't see him replacing hooper maybe Austin is best shout. Hail hail

James mcclean had a half decent 6month but not celtic class sorry austin wid be different class way us if bulgarian turns oot half the player stan did we get a gem m8

James mclean is rubbish over hyped over rated

I said it another post before but don't thinks we should be looking at McClean. Not due to his ability but more his off field stuff. We have been through the stuff with Lenny and think McClean would attract similar if not worse attention. Not saying we should bow down to people but if he can't hack it he'll be off back to the premiership as quick as you like and we'd have missed out on other signing targets. Think he's be too big a gamble.

Mclean is a great player but comes with baggage, that's something Celtic doesn't need or want, he would be at Celtic for the wrong reasons, just my opinion, I'd prefer to keep Hooper and bring in Tonev, good player and no baggage.

Hope not, keep clear of that guy. he's mince, 1 trick pony and if that doesn't work he's stuck for the rest of the game, like a poster said was decent for 6months. glad we said no when we were looking at him before he went to sunderland. Tonev would offer so much more who in my opinion has a lot more class than mclean.

Tonev has played in Poland, hardly compares to the Premiership. Can't believe some of the posts here. Mclean is a quality young player who sweats blood for the team. His 'off field baggage' is created by the media simply because he would not wear a poppy and likes the Wolfe Tones. Seriously guys get off your high horses the boys from Derry as am I and I agree totally with him. Hard to believe Celtic fans have posted these comments at times.
