Brozek, 28, passed a
medical at Parkhead
yesterday and signed on
loan until the end of the
season.
And Celtic will have a chance to sign the Polish striker in the summer on a
permanent deal for £650 ,000 from Turkish side Trabzonspor if he impresses.
The hijacking of Brozel is the latest illustration of Rangers cash crisis, because
they had been in talks to sign the player for a fortnight before the Hoops made
their move at the end of last week.
And instead of dithering, Celtic got the deal done with the minimum of fuss to
deliver a real smack in the face to their title rivals.
Now Brozek could kill off the Gers championship dreams rather than help them.
And in the process the striker, who had a record
of a goal every two games at Wisla Krakow
before his move to Turkey, could earn himself a
place in Polands European Championship squad
for the tournament finals in the summer.
Ibrox manager Ally McCoist who watched his
side thump Hibs 4- 0 at Ibrox yesterday is now
stepping up his interest in other targets.
He is determined to land Hamdi Salihi from
Rapid Vienna, Grant Holt from Norwich or Javi
Guerra from Valladolid as West Ham prepare one last-ditch bid to take Nikica
Jelavic to London.

This pawel Brozek may be 5'11 but my polish workmate says he is a machine and can score with his head often he also said hes a bit of a tough nut doesn't pull out of challenges and always comes out on top same as fojut haha sounds like what we need both of them right now !! Also heard McCourt is off and gorgeous George could go too (French side showing interest)

Well iv just watched him on utube for about 30 mins and hes not scored 1 goal with his head hes seems to have a good first touch hes on 54 grand a week and his club, so if hes any good dont think we can afford to keep him

A little worried about the stature of this Polish striker, at 5 11' he's no giant and if he's being brought in as a target man it's going to be tough for him winning headerss against defenders who are 3 or 4 inches taller. Any thoughts Ed? {Ed007's Note - I've not seen enough of him to comment.}
Obviously wouldn't be brought in as a "target man" as u stated height reasons! If true? Lennon or scouts must have seen something in him to try and get deal done! The jury is out.....

I would have preferred a Holt or Lambert type of target man as we definately do not make the most of corners and long throws because we do not have a strong ariel goal threat which gives us other attacking options and injury cover.

He is a decent enough poacher but he doesnt get on the end of long balls or hold the ball up.

A big physical striker whats one of those. Like Murphy? he was big and physical...looking and hopeless. What about McDonald? Wee guy I didn't see anyone pushing him around including the Italians at CP. I think we are talking about a Chris Sutton or BBJ who could score with the heid, but unfortunately they have retired. What about one of the big English EP players who run at pace and strike the ball at 200 miles an hour? check the headers these guys score its not as many as you think. The days of Joe Jordan, Andy Gray, Peter Latchford, and the Leeds Davie Dodds Lee something or other I think are gone. I just think football has changed and less headed goals are scored. I do get the point but I think we should relax about the guys height. Ok Maybe I am a bit biased as I have Polish relatives and live there at the moment. I do think he is a good player though.

NO !! 19 apps and olny 3 goals is not good enough {Ed007's Note - 119 in 296 is his overall career stat. That is a goal every 2.48 games. That is a pretty good ratio.}

Kris "fatty" Boyd scored goals for fun in Scotland, but struggled in Turkey. Brozek might not have the best goals to games ratio in Turkey but I'm sure he will score a barrel load in Scotland.

You never answered my question about celtic, you might have money but you can't attract any decent players and you know it. {Ed007's Note - I don't have a clue what you are talking about, do you? What Rangers failings are affecting CFC?}
Personally I think that the SFA are covering up Rangers breaches of Policy and the fact that they shouldn't have been granted a Uefa license. Failure for you lot to sign players is nothing compared to what you've done and what the media are afraid to print.
The SPL make it difficult for Celtic to attract big name signings, but Lennon's policy of buying young and developing is working why would we bother with old farts wanting to top up their pensions.
We cant attract decent players? Has this guy had a look at our first team lately?

Marc Janko wanted by Celtic, FC Twente want to offload the 28 year old striker.Although doing well Twente play with only 1 upfront Luuk De Jong takes up that spot and with Janko also playing the manager feels that Young gifted players are not getting there chance. Janko will cost a fair bit but with his record he is a must!

Just had a phone call from a close friend who tells me through a source at celtic park that a polish striker (no name mentioned) passed a medical at ross hall hospital this morning.
