If we are being linked with tomori of Derby then I hope it happens.
He looks quality.

Same John looks a very capable young centre back. There'll no doubt be competition for him.

Derby staying down hopefully the offer of silverware and European football can tempt him up here.

marked arguably the best striker in that league out the game on Monday. Kinda reminded me in denayer when he came in and quick to get a foot in.

Ok, what’s happened has happened.
DOR required now as I think Lennon will be purely coaching and day to day squad stuff.
Any ideas / suggestions for a DOF to control recruitment, sports science, etc?

I don't think he will be purely for coaching seeing as lawwell was saying how he's got an eye for a player and he's been away watching players.

Lawwell won't spend money on wages for a dof.

Lennon doing the coaching, when did he start that, he has never coached, Gary Parker did all the training.

Martin oneil never did any coaching it was walford but that's ok.

27 May 2019 16:17:27
They did someone who knows how to do training at a high standard.

Moyes our of work could be a cheap option for DOF I think he would do a decent job. Done well at Preston, Everton and West Ham as Manager. Was always going to be difficult at Utd following Sir Alex they are still pretty much the same and I think he dived in a bit at Sociedad.
Experience in BPL and Spain and a few contacts he might actually do a decent job.

Wouldn't be surprised if Kennedy is DOF. Will work together with Lennon on recruitments and was originally going to be his job anyway. Be a kick in the teeth to demote him again when he was lined up to be promoted. Again it'll be a cheap option.

M O'N didn't do any coaching at Celtic, by the time he managed RO'I neither Martin nor Roy Keane did any coaching.

Its not Lawwell who decides whether Celtic have a D of F .
Lawwell role at Celtic is to implement the decisions of the Board, Board will decide if they want a D of F and give guidelines on budget involved.

So Lawwell has come out and said there's no major rebuild needed for next season and people are over exaggerating it. Is he having a laugh!? Biscuit tin is back to stay now he has his puppet at the helm.

Depends what your definition is of a rebuild. The squad needs trimmed down and the addition of a couple of players in defence. It's not as if we need 10 new players is it?

Where did he say that? All I seen was that he said we have a strong core of players but Lennon will be backed best they can to strengthen that.

To be fair his full quote was that he knew there needed to be improvement and said we won't stand still. Actions will speak louder than any words here, a lot of people feel let down at the moment.

Like BigBubs said - I expect more outs than ins this summer.

A lot of wages will be saved this summer with the dozen or so players who will go. If Lennon can halt the traffic to the physio room then there only really needs to be 3 quality signings in my book. But - they must be quality and ready to start in the first team.

We need now what we needed two years ago. So more treading water and butt****ed in Europe. So how many people wouldn’t renew ST if they knew then what they know now. Unless Lennon is true to his word and plays hardball.

27 May 2019 09:16:13
No we need about 7.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 May 2019 10:54:37
To be honest as long as they can offload the ones we don't need and keep the core of first team this will free up money from wasted wages like commper to all funds for the transfers we need.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 May 2019 13:33:56
We need a right back, two cb's, as Jozo is prone to injury and Jack Hendry is . add your own words, a good midfielder as Broonie won't last forever and a number 9.5 players, and that's the minimum. Ewan Henderson and one or two others in the youths, maybe Dembele and Okoflex may step up next season. so yes a rebuild is needed, but is that massive?

If people think that PL will give Lennon any kind of money for decent players then they are aff there nut.
Lennon was the cheap option and if you thought last summer was bad then wait to see this one.

The squad does need a big overhaul, we will lose up to 7 or 8 players from our first team squad including three quarters of our defence (if Lustig goes) and back up defenders and with the four loanees almost all of our attacking options .

Even if it is the biscuit tin mentality we could easily bring in £10m for Ntcham and a few fringe players.
Spend another £5m and £15m is tidy some for 3 x £5m standard players. Get to Champions league group and buy another 2 of same value or 1 top drawer of wages aren’t too pricey.

27 May 2019 21:54:12
We could lose 10 or 12. Not convinced Lustig is no1 choice RB if he signs a new deal then we need another and loan out Ralston then. Sp 6-7 players in is required to strengthen the squad or I'm afraid its curtains for 10 in a row.

It is far harder to get rid of players that we don't want , than to get new players in . Hopefully we do manage to get rid of some in addition to the out of contract players . Numbers involved in signing players doesn't excite me . I prefer quality, last season if we had signed a half decent midfield player Ryan Christie may never have made the break through as he came on against Hearts to replace an injured player and didn't look back until his mate from Aberdeen ended his season prematurely . We have at least 4/ 5 youngsters that probably could really help us next season.

Defo out:
Gamboa
Izzy
Boyata
Mulumbu
Allan
Oliver Burke
Compper

Possibles
Lustig
Benkovic. might re-sign
Sinclair
Hendry
Morgan
Ntcham
The other Ivorian kid who plays midfield and is injured, name totally escapes me

That's a lot of players, some don't need replaced . many do.
That's a rebuild by any stretch of the imagination.
