Note to ED:
What sort of power does Uefa have to move against FiFa. I understand that Fifa are the governing body nut they must have to answer to some one.
Can Uefa ask their members to boycott the world cup.??

{Ed002's Note - UEFA is not liked any more than FIFA by the clubs so ganging up is not going to be an issue. There is fallout to come - I am not sure what it will be right now. Ed007 will keep you posted.}

i think the g14 are looking at ways to get more cash as that latest Epl deal has turned teams like Stoke Swansea into bigger clubs than Ajax benfica psv etc clubs with big followings
I for one won't be renewing my sky deal next year to see players like Danny wellbeck james Milner Jordan Henderson take home 70k+ a week

Platini has said that UEFA will discuss pulling out of FIFA and future world cups. If they did this it would force change as all the sponsors would pull out as well and as they say, money talks.

Marco10 your right mate. At the start of the season Hull City were listed as a richer club than Celtic. We have got to be at least 20x a bigger club and this just illustrates how dangerous sky tv is

Platini won't get all the UEFA teams to pull out of the World Cup. If he is lucky he will get the Western European Countries and some others
Russia and many of the eastern bloc countries will be bought , by Putin or bullied and threatened, but many of them won't go with Europe .
I think America is trying to block Russia from holding the World Cup.
They boycotted the Moscow O. Games , and are interested in playing wee games again . I think it's the 2022 games that have to be moved . They are totally disgraceful.
I think Scotland and the ROI should boycott this competition and could stage our own World Cup. Pity the SFA is so corrupt or we could have started the honest no cheating Finals .

Platini seems to be opposed to boycott, withdrawal from FIFA / World Cup.

Bottom line is that there's too much money involved for anyone to stage an effective protest or demand change. Only when the sponsors decide to act rather than talk will there be any inertia to get rid of Blatter - and as it is, there's always another company eager to step up to the position. What other product gives you access to the whole world?

The US Attorney General is acting in a very courageous way for my money and has made her reputation on the impossible cases. I hope she continues. Geopolitically, Putin is not credible on the issue, and his regime is noriously almost as nepotistic as FIFA.

Cavalcanti , don't place too much trust with the American Atorney General , she investigated a group of American bankers and had theenough evidence to put several into jail for a very long time but then she allowed plea bargaining and no time was served . We know Putin is objectionable but America and Russia both have their own agendas , and I wouldn't think either were whiter than white .

There is a lot going on behind the scenes between Russia and the US that most people are oblivious to. Basically Russia and the other BRICS countries are challenging the US dominance in the financial markets. Russia has recently done some big oil deals and did not sell the oil in dollars, which means the US did not get its customary cut. BRICS have also set up their own central bank to challenge the IMFs monopoly on lending. In response US have destabilized Ukraine by supporting groups opposed to the previous regime. They have placed sanctions on Russia. I also suspect the fall in oil prices has been orchestrated to impact on Russia as they need it to sell for at least 100 dollars a barrell to keep their economy afloat. I also wouldn't be surprised if this FIFA investigation is in someway linked as well.

Rabmac I think you have hit the nail on the head . America v Russia economic war and throw in Quatar getting the World Cup America wanted and Russia , England's .

The other thing was 5 years ago Platini thought he was a shoe-in for Blatter's job this year . So politics , economics , world domination and Football last . Not much room for ethics in that mixture .

{Ed007's Note - If anyone actually believes that this is to do with tackling corruption or human right issues they're kidding themselves on. This is about England and the USA flexing their politcal muscle, the only difference is they can't invade FIFA and murder innocent people like they do elsewhere.
Remember that the EPL is the 'best league in the world', why shouldn't they have more power, it's not like England don't like putting themselves centre of the universe.
It's not about tackling the corruption, it's about controlling it. If England had been granted the 2018 WC we wouldn't be reading about this stuff, England would be backing Blatter.
Let's not forget how keen the USA & England are to do the bidding of Zionist Israel who were under pressure last week.
I wonder how many CFC fans who are suddenly concerned with human rights etc were at Dungavel at the weekend, maybe the BBC didn't 'promote' the protest?
I was taught that charity begins at home, these days it seems to begin on social media about how outraged people are with whatever the flavour of the month cause is.
As for Platini, his comments about Heysel show how much of a lousy $hit-heel he is.}
