ed the rumours seem to be going about more and more about mcshagger possibly signing? i personally cant see it but what do you think? {Ed007's Note - My opinion on the matter hasn't changed throughout the day.}

just a thought what about celtic replacing thompson with a more experience coach like billy mcneil {Ed007's Note - Billy McNeill should be a in club President type figure role IMO. I have been saying it for years. Look at Bobby Charlton at Utd, Beckenbauer at Munich etc.}

Believable10 Unbelievable6

Is billy McNeil no Celtic fc ambassador?

Paulbhoy010 {Ed007's Note - He was made official ambassador in 2009. I just think it should be a more public position he hold.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Billy is an honourary member of the celtic board

Skinnybhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed...i would have agreed to that position for Caesar a few years back, but recently i'd say the big fella's not quite up to that anymore.
i know him personally, and it's sad to say, but he's showing his age mentally, if you know what i mean

taco {Ed007's Note - I know Taco mate. I just always thought he never got the 'recognition' the same way the others I mentioned did, and it kind of irks me. One of the true gentlemen of the game.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Absolutely Ed...the guy should be honoured in some greater fashion than some token role.
he's worked for the club for almost 60 years for god sake! he more than deserves some major, major recognition. but i just think the club have let that slip past, and it would be a shame, if he was to be given such a public role now at his age and poor health.

i hate talking about the big man like this, cos he's always been larger than life to me, up there with Stein in terms of being almost god-like!
name a stand after him, or lennoxtown, i don't know....but unfortunately, doing the rounds in supporters clubs is now where his public liabilities should be.

taco {Ed007's Note - I totally agree with you mate. We'll leave it at that now. Hail Hail Taco.}

as a Celtic fan i have no problem with McGreggor signing for us
we need a proven goalkeeper, he is Scotlands number 1, highly rated amongst EPL teams and from what i hear he would prefer to stay in Scotland for family reasons
Craig Gordon is an option i would be happy with Zaluska as back up, and then we could sign a promosing young keeper with potential
would be interested in hearing other fans views on Mcgreggor if he became a serious option

Believable17 Unbelievable16

Wouldn't want mcshagger anywhere near celtic

bigD

Agree0 Disagree0

I do not want him playing for Celtic NO WAY! He is too much of a Rangers (RIP) man.

Agree0 Disagree0

His m8 ***** **** is the manager in my local the old stag inn in pollokshaws (ps oldcoe owed hin 2grand 4 family section entertainment at kkk he voted no 2 cva only 1 of three check it out ) he says mcgregor is oldcoe mad no chance of us signing him would not want him either so put that 1 2 bed hail hail

Agree0 Disagree0

The Shame have already turned on him as he does walking away. If he was then to sign straight for us he would just put him/his family's safety on the line. That's how sad those f*ckers are.

For his own safety....dont do it.

Also....dont want him, too much baggage with all that would come with him.

Iain

Agree0 Disagree0

A decent goalie but has let his standards slip recently - not too comfortable on crosses / shots from distance. i don't mind the fact he is a rangers fan (so were danny mcgrain and kenny dalglish) as much as i deplore him for his reputation. it's a 'no' from me.

Agree0 Disagree0

Its a NO from me not because he is ex Rangers but because he has made to many mistakes last season. Big Fraser the better option

Bigbr

Agree0 Disagree0

There would be nothing more pleasing to me than to take rangerses prized asset and putting him in the hoops come on guys think about it

Agree0 Disagree0

Ignoring the fact where he's coming from look at that facts. Scotland No 1, Market value if assigned to a club £5M+, experienced, better than FF who is seriously now showing that he's only using us as a bargaining chip. We need a keeper with games only 4 weeks away. Why not? Doesnt work out, sell him! Its a win/win. Stevo

Agree0 Disagree0

Would love it if he came to celtic,he is a better more experienced goalie than forster, plus pay back for mo johnston !!

Agree0 Disagree0

If he wanted to sign for the Celts why not ? forget this ex - rangers rubbish ,he is tried and tested at the highest level .

Agree0 Disagree0

He was a Jambo when he was younger,I do not think playing for them would put him off signing for Celtic if the money is right that is.

Ed do you know if we're due any sort of refund with newco not in the spl cheers...jiggythetim {Ed007's Note - The club said they need to wait for it to be official before they can do anything.}

Believable1 Unbelievable4

Sorry, but can`t understand supporters wanting refunds.I`ve been a season ticket holder for 30 years. I`ve never once bought it because Rangers are our opposition. I buy my ST to support Celtic, irrespective of the opposition. Now if, as predicted clubs will strugle financially this season, should we not be rallying round, not looking for money back.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with the second comment . Been a season book holder for 24 years now and would rather my money went to the club in order to invester or sustain the club to the level we are at or higher level as everyone wanting there money back will take millions off the club and we will have to downsize to break even.

I bet a lot of people wanting money back will be the people who complain when we dont make any signings . No money no investment.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hey, i agree with both of the comments above, not looking for a refund as THEY aren't in the league.

I have been hearing rumours thatr two of the Rangers rebels may sign for Celtic, anyone throw some light on this? One of the players has been in the media recently saying he doesnt want to leave Scotland as his wife and kids are settled here. Personally I would be surprised cos you would imagine they would get heaps of grief for singing on at Celtic for free

Believable10 Unbelievable20

I would take McGregor if he would come. Best keeper in Scotand and free = better value than FF. Some may say but he used to play for Rangers! - Who cares!? Get the best players in.
I don't think I would take any of the others, not because of bigotry but because they aren't particularly good or are injury prone.

Agree0 Disagree0

I heard we have spoken to rhys mccabe good talented individual
if we can land them for nothing leaves extra money for a solid center half
ed what do you make of forster situation

FozzY {Ed007's Note - I still expect Forster to sign Fozzy. Nothing official has been said by anyone, all Pardew said was that he expected Forster back at training, as no deal has been finalised then he needs to return to NUFC or would be in breach of his contract.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Would think most would know it would be a bad move for both them and their families as the Shame are angry.

Possible only Aluko would sign as he has had such a short connection with Tecso FC but the rest would be a major doubt!.
HH
/BB

Agree0 Disagree0

The rumour I heard was it was Davis but could you imagine the grief he would get from the disguntled bears!

Agree0 Disagree0

Davis wants 1st team football and he wont get that at Celtic. We have about 6 midfielders in front of him

Agree0 Disagree0

Your all having all laugh honestly. Absolute rubbish chat. Davis? McGregor? Aluko? FFS there's not a snowballs chance in hell Of any of them coming here. I would pass out from the surprise if even McCabe come to Celtic. It's a nonesense. And i wouldn't want any of them near us, ANY of them. Some good players but no chance. End this patter sharpish

Stevensee88

Agree0 Disagree0

Stevensee88 you wouldnt take a former Rangers player for free who could be sold on for profit?

Why would you not want them, I thought it was the Rangers supporters who were narrow minded

Agree0 Disagree0

Mc shagger is on his way to celtic nasty thinking about it to and i say welcome they have won 3 title in a row SKINT we need good players for the champions leauge ....jc

Agree0 Disagree0

I honestly do not think any Rangers player would make it into the Celtic team with the exception of McGregor.

Agree0 Disagree0

Its a no brainer for me, class gk if it doesnt work out we'll make a good bit of profit. Let them morons do all the bigotry I for one am really bored with it. Id welcome mcgregor. Rossybhoy

Hearing Forster will be 'introduced' in a press conference on Monday Lunch time.

NL and PL to get another 2 signings in the door early July before the qualifiers for the CL. Also a couple more players could be on the way out....Watch this space.

Jamesy Bhoy

Believable5 Unbelievable9

I clicked believable because i really hope forster will sign!

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye, think we'll move quickly this window as NL will want any new signings in early to bed in before early round of CL qualifiers.

Anybody got an idea when we will appoint a new First Team coach to replace Thompson and who it might be?

Believable4 Unbelievable2

John Brown is looking for a job.

K-Dot.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ally McCoist might be walking away very shortly, I'm sure him and NL would be a love hate coaching team!

Agree0 Disagree0

John Kennedy deserves a shout, although he's learning a lot where he is for now. Peter Grant?

Agree0 Disagree0

We should promote John Kennedy.

Agree0 Disagree0

John kennedy i heard

Agree0 Disagree0

The post isn't getting filled just moving people up through the ranks IMO I would have loved the maestro to get a shout....jiggythetim

Agree0 Disagree0

Got to be Lubo.Too soon for Henrik,i want him to take over as manager some day so it would be best if he continued in a manager's role, getting experience.

Jungle Bhoy.

Agree0 Disagree0

John Kennedy is a very good shout, I heard somewhere that he will be a top coach, or how about someone from abroad with a different outlook to the game, could help with europe. johnbhoy79

Agree0 Disagree0

You must be joking with Peter Grant , terrible player even worse coach.

Agree0 Disagree0

Do we really need to replace thompson, as we have mjallby who is assistant coach, but if anyone id say john kennedy. (peter grant are you having a laugh)

Personally I think the Forster situation is a bit of a 2 way street. Forster may be holding out for a move to another english team, but I also think that Celtic are holding off slightly not only because of the situation at Castle Grey Skull but also the other goalkeepers that appear to be available i.e. Craig Gordon. There is also the fact that the transfer window isn't actually open yet.

I would prefer Gordon, but it's risk because of his injuries over the past couple of years...so maybe sticking with Forster is the better choice, I just hope it doesn't drag on too long and we end up losing out on both of them.

Spuddy

Believable6 Unbelievable2

Forster is not a good keeper. He does not come for cross balls, nor can he move his feet quickly. Zaluska deserves a good run out.

i saw that paul dixon signed for huddersfield, why we didnt signed him for a back up for izzy?probably he doesnt want to be second choice.but he was free so is craig gordon and both are scottish which we have in the team only 6 or 7.

Good Morning ED007, I saw your reply to a poster who asked about McGregor signing, your reply was "he would need to be flown in from a remote island and protected by NATO"
This got me thinking, have we all slipped into this "hate someone that shares different ideals" Celtic need a good keeper, and despite
all his failings as a person, he is a good goalkeeper. I know a lot of ex RFC fans would be hurt, and a lot of Celtic fans would oppose this move
but for purely footballing reasons it would be good, and maybe in the long run break down some more barriers.
We all know the Mojo saga, but most Celtic fans did not oppose it because he was a Catholic signing for them, we hated it because he paraded in our colours and professed "his love" for Celtic, it was the HYPOCROSY that stunk with us Celtic fans.
McGregor I don't think would come to Celtic, but surely we in scotland
must try and rise above all the bigotted hatred. I would love to hear
other Celtic fan's views on this, from a FOOTBALL view, not hatred towards an ex Rangers player. Timalloy {Ed007's Note - I have never questioned his ability as a GK Tim although he has become complacent. Do you honestly think that him and his family would be safe on the streets of Scotland if he signed for CFC. It is a sad but true state of affairs.}

Believable14 Unbelievable2

Well ed another well informed unbigotted reply from yourself. You hit the nail exactly on the head on when you say he wouldnt be safe walking the streets, i for one would have him as a keeper be it right or wrong.

The Happy Turnkey

Agree0 Disagree0

ED007, sadly about him and his family not being safe I have to agree, but it shames us all in Scotland.
Even going back again to the blond/ginger fud MJ most of the vitriol was verbal, I know RFC made a big thing about bodyguards but he roamed Glasgow freely.(in a big sports car highly visible)
Also we had the Alfie Conn saga, going across the city divide, again it was mostly verbal and we Celtic fans made a song out of it to annoy the bears.
We have moved on in a lot of ways but this is still shaming all of Scotland. Timalloy

Agree0 Disagree0

Personally I think mcgregor would be a good aquisition if he could put up with all the nonsense that would come his waybut after 3 or 4 years he would probably have no resale value

Agree0 Disagree0

From a footballing point of view...NO
Personal point of view......... NO
from a safety point of view (his)..... NO

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont rate him as a top class goalie i also dont rate him as a person/human being, his antics are cringeworthy we dont need people like him near our beloved club,.,.kbarry

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont see how anyone cant rate Mcgregor as a keeper he top notch ,forget who he played for I for one dont care, if he wants to sign get him in quick

Agree0 Disagree0

Bring back Artur Boruc. Best Celtic keeper since Pat Bonner

Morning Ed,

So I see this morning that more from mordor have begun to walk away. McMoist must feel like a plonker now! I am sure he will be the next one to go... Also on this topic, when is the Rangers rumours page going to disappear? or should it not be called Newco rumours?

The Foster deal is starting to groan on me a bit... Clearly his agent wants more than what he is worth! I think it may be best to srap it and move on. This is what happened last year and FF looked shocking at the start of the season.

Does everyone think it is time for KI to go? I only say this because, the guy has never really had a run at it yet we have gained c4million on him (Ruban 6 million offer).

Linnie88

Believable3 Unbelievable3

Mate ive already asked the question about rangers rumour page being taken down as there are no rangers, obviously ed wont post it for some reason though? ,.,.kbarry

now that we know we won't have any old firm league games next season what do think the club should do for season ticket holders who purchased their tickets with these games included and paid extra, don't think we will be refunded in any way and don't really want to take money back out the club anyway, but a freebie from the shop might be a good gesture to compensate....what do you think ?

Believable8 Unbelievable4

Get behind our team your an idiot
we need all the money we can get remember we are in europe

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye the new home strip haha
Conor67

Agree0 Disagree0

Regarding get behind your team you idiot; he is obviously already very much behind hi team seeing as he has a season ticket and spent that bit more (like myself) for old firm game tickets included. Why should we be left to pay more when those who did not include these games get to go see the same games as us?

We pay plenty towards our team, but I'm afraid I'm not in a financial position to disregard £50 plus that i have overpayrd especially after already spending over £500 so far.

Agree0 Disagree0

I was thinking more of the new black top Conor but anything would be a bonus....as for the "idiot" comment, bang out or order i'm afraid, i'm sure we are all behind our team, well it would be nice to think so anyway

Agree0 Disagree0

The OP is just asking a question, he IS getting behind team by by a season ticket, my solution if no refund, put BOTH euro qualifiers on the ST. These games usually are not 60,000 sell outs because of time of year anyway, so club could afford this and it would be a good public gesture also. Timalloy

Agree0 Disagree0

That's a good point timalloy I would be happy with that. Possible
Conor67

Agree0 Disagree0

One of the qualifiers is included in the season ticket already which means your getting 1 extra game not the two or three Old Firm games that would have been included. Including the group games, providing we get there, would be a good shout.

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe if we got to the champions league proper, the 3 match package could be reduced to season ticket holders by a fair percentage to give something back to guy's who have coughed up pre season for books. maccabhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

I take the guys point but I am happy to leave things as they are.

if forster doesnt sign i would but a second choice keeper on the cheap or promote a youth keeper. i would also give zaluska the no.1 shirt (bulked up considerably and confident enough with a run of games).

i would then put the £2m towards a commanding centre back that has a bit of pace.

Believable9 Unbelievable5

Thats a great idea ive said for years that Zaluska should be No.1 I always thought he showed good qualities while he id nets and that we should try to get a cheap keeper for No.2

Agree0 Disagree0

Zaluska deserves an opportunity and I am still not wholly convinced that Foster is any better.

Just reading through the recent posts and i've got to say i'm pretty surprised at the reaction to big Forster. We don't know wether he will or wont sign and we certainly don't know what the hold up is. Of course there's the good old it's his agents fees, he's waiting for someone else to bid, he wants more money etc etc. Well that's not really a rumour is it it's a dam guess so all the posts shooting the big man down in flames ought to be ashamed of themselves if the big man is our number one next year. He was here on loan for 2 seasons and gave it everything so stop with the you owe us, we gave you everything. It's a big boys game. We gave him a chance, he done us a turn (helped as much as the rest to win the league) so maybe cut him some slack until we know for sure what's going on

Gary

Believable8 Unbelievable2

He has had more than ample time to make up his mind, the offer has been there for almost a year .We as a club need to sort this out! No-one is bigger than the club, give him a DEFINITE deadline to sign or we move on. Choice is european football or English religation battle, and that`s not being sarky, but that is what his options are. He has been on loan for 4 years now .

Agree0 Disagree0

To above poster, i think you will find the offer has not been on the table for over a year the only thing that was agreed was the fee we would pay for him £2m. His personal terms had never been discussed up until a few weeks ago as far as i know. Agree with original poster that we should just give it time and i for one believe he will sign.

Heard sevco 8055 ( the rangers football club ) could be in administration by the weekend due to not being able to pay players wages and failure to pay PAYE for this month.

Tax man won't be happy

Selboy

Believable11 Unbelievable4

What players?? The 2 lee's, surely the can cover that

Agree0 Disagree0

No Rangers, no players, no league to play in, dodgy owners, police criminal investigations, civil law suits....ah if Carlsberg did summers......

Agree0 Disagree0

This was hinted at in The Glasgow Herald the other day. That team is history altogether. Time is against them

Agree0 Disagree0

The players have been moved over to newco without permission as Rangers football club is still alive for another 3 weeks all players under contract to RFC are still intitled to there pay

Agree0 Disagree0

They are required to get all their paperwork (a business plan, proof of bank accounts, who are the share-holders and so on) to the SFA by Friday they also have to accept all 'punishments' £160,000 fine and player embargo - they will not meet these requirements for membership in my view.
