Ed is there any news on players coming in? Was at the game as usually today and I think we are crying out for an out and out winger. Time and time again we had no width and when we did get there the finally ball was terrible. Also think a new lb is needed. Love izzy but he's just not the same player and Gershon is more defensive minded.

Daz the Hoopy {Ed007's Note - Sorry Daz, I have not heard anything new on any players coming in.}

Believable2 Unbelievable7

Never mind crying out for a winger, I am crying out for a new manager. I have said time and time again that Lenny is great when we are the underdogs, but when there is a decent level of expectation there that we should win the game comfortably, he always bottles it. I am sick fed up of him blaming the decisions of referees for his mistakes. Yet again he makes a statement about the 2 penalties not being penalties. This is another attempt by our manager to avoid taking the blame. I am stunned that we have lost AGAIN at Hampden under this management team. I hope the board start asking questions, this was our best ever chance in the history of our great club to achieve three consecutive trebles. Absolutely gutted! Davo 88 {Ed007's Note - Hi Davo, nice to hear from you mate.}

Agree1 Disagree5

So we don't win a treble and the manager needs to go? Are you dumb, yes! How many times has a treble be won or even close? We have been close but couldn't get over the line, it's the manager fault we lost? The players had nothing to do with it? That was as close to our best team we could have fielded with injuries and all, ya nl should have maybe switch things early but to say get rid of him is just spl fing dumb! Has he not turned the club around drastically given us the best team in years and bring in great profit that we haven't seen in years? Being one of the few to take us to last 16 in cl means nothing right because jock and gs were the only others. RELAX! We are not going to win every game and we are going to have another chance next year, I would like to know who you think would do a better job then nl that will guarantee us a treble? Is that they only way you will be happy. He was not having a go at the refs(you are acting like the dead club that when ever nl opens his mouth you take it all the wrong way or make it up) he just have his opinion of how they soft ours more so then theirs. He did take blame in saying that he needs to think about the players and maybe ship some out and bring some in.

Agree2 Disagree1

What a load of nonsense. yeah, change the manager every time the team loses. did you not notice there was another team on the pitch ? who played very well ? what we need to change is 'celtic supporters' like you? the best chance in our history to win trebles ? it may have escaped your notice but we are playing in 4 competitions and this treble talk is just stupid. you win the league cup, you hold it up for a bit and then you wonder, what was that all about ? neil lennon and his team are about to attempt to get us into the last 8 of the top competition in the world. that will do for me.

Agree0 Disagree1

Davo sounds to me that it would be a kneeejerk reaction, I bet when we got a result against barca you were one of the fans saying lennys a god, this that and the next thing....now he needs the sack cause we got beat by st mirren!haha get a grip, who do you want as manager then? The players are to blame for not gettin the the final, remember its the same players that beat barca....so doesn't mean thay aren't good enough just tell every celtic fan apart from davo that the team didn't even show up...but that's lennys fault, its the players that cross the white line its upto them to do the business for the club!

Agree0 Disagree1

2 trophies out of 11? Correct me if i'm wrong
Raff

Agree0 Disagree0

Moussa Kalisse, plays in holand, watch this guy on u-tube, there are players out there that wouldn't cost Celtic the earth, we need to clear out dead wood squad players, and freshen up the squad cause let face it that first 11 put them self in a position to be dropped after that yesterday .Lets see who gets a game against kilmarnock

Agree0 Disagree0

Neil lennon is a great manager but for instance say we didn't get out the champions league group you look domestically lost more points than ever in the league and knocked out the league cup. At the start of the season the champions league was a bonus and the main priority was the treble but now that has gone.

Agree2 Disagree0

What about Marcos Alonso at Bolton available for 1/2 a mil. Good pedigree and still young enough to improve.

Agree0 Disagree0

Get rid of Lennon? Good lord!, some people just don't know what's good for them. I'm glad the club is ran by sane like minded people, cause if it was run by half the loons on here we would be in the gutter. Oh ye of little faith, and sense.

Quack

Agree0 Disagree1

To the guy who said what if we didn't make it out of group stage and drop these points...... Well if me aunt had balls she would be my uncle. You can't say that everything would have turned out the same way if we weren't in cl, cause the nl would know he had to win cups and not drop points. So what if we hadn't won more cups under him, we would all like to, but he has gotten the club thier every year to have a shot. That's the thing with sports, on any given day any team can win

Agree0 Disagree0

Domestically we have been dross for large parts of this season- this CANNOT be disputed. We have dropped 20 points and are out of the league cup- that's poor for an average season. We have no realistic sustainable rival- we should have turned out more performances then we have.

If we measure ourselves by being twelve points clear at the top of the league we risk taking our eye off the ball I feel. We are years ahead of every other side in terms of our expectations- lets keep to our own standards and not begin to gauge our successes/failures/prerequisites against the field.

I am not saying Lennon should be sacked here but I feel we have the right to expect more and more of the time. A win is a win- yes but if anyone can say we haven't been boring this season(for the most part) then there be a liar.

I hear myself saying this about every six months- the board should release 5m or so for two players, let Lennon and park etc decide on whom and get them. The team is not far away at all from adding another dimension- the sooner the better. Wee bit of flair and we will be fine.

We look a much better side in Europe when it's teams trying to break US down but domestically the impetus is on us and we haven't fallen flat many times this season because of this. Add that edge to our game and the champs league cheque for NEXT season would be as well written.

Wonder what kind of heat Lennon would be under were it not for big sammy tumbling over the grass against Moscow or if xavi stayed away from the crack pipe at half time?

Jamie Mac(just a thought)

Agree0 Disagree0

Davo88 you don't know yer ass fae yer elbow pal, get a grip, ., .kbarry

Agree0 Disagree0

Disagreed with you in the past but agree with you there Jamie Mac.
We are CRYING OUT for creativity from midfield. I really hope and trust this boy Rogic can provide it. A real Number 10.
Hopefully the squad will be trimmed in the summer - and I don't count Hooper and Big Vic etc in that - these guys must be replaced with players of similar ability or potential. Whether that is at the cost you mention, time will tell.
I will be looking for MASSIVE improvement and a few players dropped in the next game...............kbt1978

There is no point in hiding behind the champions league banner the main objective this season was to win the treble and we can't do that domestically there is no doubt that celtic have been excellent in champions league but domestically it has been not good enough. Everywhere celtic go home or away the aim is to win in style so a don't want to see that dropping because we have done so well in the champions league.

Another thing I forgot to mention and its nothing to do with our record at the place or the score today . Hampden Park is the worst stadium I've been in . I'm saying from the fact it's Scotland's national stadia and its a midden . From trying to get into antiquated turnstiles to the seating to the atmosphere it's a disgrace . To think I had my first season book there when Celtic played there beggars belief, it hasn't changed one bit since then .......DH

Believable18 Unbelievable8

Nothing to do with the result today, well done st. mirren, but now you mention it, the place is useless. the crowd are too far from the pitch. how come the sru can have a stadium like murrayfield and the sfa have only got this that they rent from qp ? I first went there in 69 and I've always hated the place. you should have seen it then by the way.

Agree1 Disagree0

Yes, well said. If you are behind the goal the view is awful. Whilst the view in the north stand is better, its single tier set up means the catering and toilet facilities are inadequate with everone using a single set at the rear. The toilets in particular are a disgrace. Huge queues to use them exacerbated by one door for use for both entry and exit causing crush and delay the likes of which I've never seen at Celt Park. Even the new south stand, while much better isnothing special. Transport links and turnstiles are also awful. Hard to find anything redeeming about it. What we could have doe with that 50m quid!

Agree1 Disagree0

Agreed dh hampden is brutal one of the worst stadiums I've been too, it should only be used for internationals, celtic park and ibrox should host finals, and grounds like hibs aberdeen or hearts for semis even other smaller grounds depending on the fixture? that was we fergus mc cans vision, hampden needs bulldozed. all that aside better team won today. belfastbhoy

Agree1 Disagree0

I hate the place, the last time I remember us playing WELL there is 1988 vs Dundee utd,,, algarvebhoy

Agree1 Disagree0

I lived in the flat opposite Hampden for years. Sadly at the rangers end! I can tell you what Hampden did with that 50million odd, as soon as it got awarded literally 4 or 5 brand new new cars appeared ...

Agree0 Disagree0

The national team should do wat likes of spain and that do instead of having a national stadium they should make use of the stadiums around scotland gives every other city the chance to host an international game

Agree0 Disagree0

A city the size of Glasgow does not need three 50,000+ size stadiums.

Get rid of hampden (will never happen though).

Rota internationals around the country.

Parkhead or Ibrox only get a nominal "rent out" charge anytime they are used, but the money saved would save scottish money a fortune over the years.

Agree0 Disagree0

The games will take that rotten pitch out of scottish football hair for a year, so it will be The pitch at Ibrox we will have to play on in cup semi and finals, last time I heard Rangers had sold there Sun lamps to keep the pitch growing through the winter to the SFA, for Hampden ? the league cup should be put back to the start of the season and played on health pitches, and would give teams and fans a chance to enjoy a cup format when the weather is good .

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes you are correct Hampden is rubbish. It looks like they have forgot to put the top tier on, it's half the size it should be. I have been to Wembley to see U2 and that is what a national stadium should look like. It is fantastic, it feels great, it looks great and it's high. Hampden is low and crap, and it feels negative. Who ever put that stadium together should not be proud of it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hampden Park is a disgrace. Look at the stadia being used by England, Wales and Ireland. Need I say more, they need to flatten and make a new stadium.

Agree0 Disagree0

There is hot water and hand drying facilities something you can't find at Parkhead also better pie and chips!! There are good seats but some choose not to sit and force others wishing to sit to stand in order to see the play. My 11 year old grandson could hardly follow the game and I now have a sciatica thanks to those who do not consider their fellow fans!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed.. Hampden is terrible. Sell off the site and if they are intent on having a 'National' stadium then they should ground share with the Scottish RFU at Murrayfield.

Agree0 Disagree0

Any ground with an athletics track is awful!

I think many posters need to take a chill pill here. Sure it was a bad day at the office but St Mirren played out of their skin and got a great result. Did you hear fans talk this way when Partick did us over in the early seventies. Lets congratulate St Mirren and move on. Mr Lennon will sort things out. A little bit of humility and respect would not go amiss. Sopotcelt.

Believable23 Unbelievable11

Agree 100%. Today we were awful but we need to move on. It is not the end of the world so lets not get too annoyed. Bigger games to come and the team needs our support. They will be feeling the pain more than us so criticism won't help anyone.

Hail Hail
ChrisBhoy

Agree1 Disagree1

Totally agree 100% let's not get too down on the team we need to keep it together & get ready for the juve game to push on and maybe reach the quarter finals. Lets put today behind us and move on. In Lennon we trust.....

Agree2 Disagree1

I was at the partick game and most people were joking about it, it was so much of a shock. it was another case of a team getting it right on the day. mcneil was injured and they used the wings and crossed to where he would have been. today was a day st. mirren will never forget, they played fantastically well.

Agree0 Disagree0

Humility is fine. St Mirren were excellent so fair play to them, wll deserved. Also, these things happen, That sai, I think the reason for folk being annoyed is this was a re-run both of so many lacklustre domestic performances this season and a re-run of previous big game failingas at Hampden against teams which I won't insult by saying they are lesser sides, but which do have vast disadvantages in terms of resource. The biggest issue is that all of these have been characterised by a poor attitude. This hasn't been reoslved and therefore isn't acceptable. And for that reason I don't know that you are right Chrisbhoy. Are the players hurting more? I dnt see any evidence of them caring nearly as much as the fans. Lennon summed them up well today.

Agree1 Disagree0

100% disagree with both of you regarding your evaluation of todays result. St.Mirren's attitude and desire were spot on...THATS IT!! They didn't play fast, skilful attacking football and carved us open, they didn't play one touch possession football, They didn't score fantastic goals. OUR F*CKING DESIRE SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE SAME!! CELTIC LOST TODAY BECAUSE WE NEVER PLAYED! If we had even played to half our best we would have won. Attitude and desire was way off, and the pace at which we started was shocking.

Lennon is raging, and he told everyone why. Listen to the interviews, he spells it out plainly.

That wasn't good enough for Celtic football club...Steven Thompson was a sitter away from making it 4-1 for f*ck sake! Playing it down won't solve the problem or help the players. They should feel absolutely disgusted with they're efforts today.

Sorry lads but I just couldn't disagree more. Both of you and myself deserve better from a team of well paid footballers who are blessed with the luxury of being a Celtic player.

Agree0 Disagree2

How can any Celtic fan seriously think that the players will be hurting more than us. We are the ones spending our hard earned cash, paying to watch these over paid prima donnas put on a display like that. Not a knee jerk reaction, but an opinion from someone who has had to put up with too many of these poor performances over the last few years. Players move on, but we are always Celtic.

Agree1 Disagree0

Shambolic celtic how many bad hampden performences do we put up with, you pull that jersey on and play like your life depended on it, congrat to st.mirren you desrved it

Agree1 Disagree0

Last 3 posters. I respect your right to air your an opinion but if you feel so strongly about things respect the fact that it is good manners to leave your name. I just don't know why posters who have points to make don't leave names. Sopotcelt.

Agree1 Disagree0

I'm glad there's bhoys like you that are calm about a result like this but the way I see it is them lads on the pitch get money we can only dream of and ther attitude today was like they had won the cup and ther was nothing too play for, the fact is this team is inconsistent and ther attitude stinks at times , I'm a big fan of Lennon but I look on that team today as if they had no respect for him he needs too show he is the boss and drop that whole team for the we'd game and make them sit in the stand

Agree1 Disagree0

I was at the Partick game - (and still thought we would score 5 in the 2nd half).
The difference is astronomical as then, we were well on the way to 9 in a row and that was a very rare shock result under Big Jock.
Today we have continued an abysmal record at Hampden against so-called lesser opposition and - if you include the Rangers game - have failed in five cup attempts in three years. The players are coming up short too many times in big domestic games and that's unacceptable.

JJ

Agree0 Disagree0

Op your spot on about st. mirren they really did turn up for a fight but a just think given our recent record at hampden and the shockin results we hav had the players knew what kind of response and performance was needed and and should hav been fired up knowin this was a step closer towards maybe a treble and yet again they didn't show it for a cup semi final it was totally shocking but fair play 2 st. mirren a hope they win it now they deserve it

gunniebhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

CHILL PILL all chill pill ye, ffs ross co, killie, herts, effin st mirren ffs this is a joke A SAD SAD SITUATION TO MANY BIG GAMES LOST.The players were a joke again, BUT THE BUCK STOPS AT THE MANAGER!Once again at hampden in a semi or a final WE don't TURN UP!HOW long does this continue?a need a drink no a chill pill......jimthetim....absolutely gutted again.....

This team is mentally weak or think they are better than they actually are, after todays shambles a few need punted before the end of the week and replaced.

West Ham allegedly willing to pay 4 million for Izzaguire get him on the plane to London first thing in the morning, he's a bottler and never the same player since his ankle break.

Commons, Samaras and Lassad should be hunted as well.

Gary Mackay-Steven and Johnny Russell should be brought in this week

Believable11 Unbelievable26

Bit harsh on sammy mate. he's the one player that has turned up for the big games in europe this season and after he has one bad game you want him punted? come on now...no need for that.

celticthomas

Agree2 Disagree0

Good to see nobody's making any knee jerk reactions lol

Agree3 Disagree0

Lets hope this is a wake up call result, yes I do agree, two dead wood players out, maybe even let a senior player away for 5 mill and bring in 3 fresh hungry players into that squad to keep the first 11 from repeating today game again this season . ps always let a forward take the pens,

Agree0 Disagree0

Get a grip.... ok today the team where poor but don't tell me you have never had a bad day.... and to say to get rid of players after today just shows your a joke and over reacting .

hail hail

Marco1888

Agree0 Disagree0

Johnny Russell and Mackay-Steven are answer?, you must be joking. We lost the game, take it on the chin. The sooner Forster is back the better.

Quack

Agree1 Disagree0

I think this is what's called a knee jerk reaction. Worst team ever etc. etc.

We were shocking today, poor performances all over the park, lack of workrate and capped off by a ridiculous penalty conceded. Chase Samaras? who has been one of our best players all season and our top champions league scorer, get real! and whilst Commons hasn't been as impressive as his first season he at least tried to make things happen when he came on and should've had an assist when Ledley headered over.

The person I feel sorry for is the manager who has done a fantastic job. Yes the players let him and themselves down today but they have punched so far above theior weight qualifying for the last 16 from Pot 4 and that shouldn't be forgotten.

The real fans will forgive this and get behind the team, maybe not the 20,000 who demand champions league tickets and then can't find their way to CP for a league game, but all real fans.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Jan 2013 21:18:53
one of our problems, mentality aside, is a lack of width or creativity. As commons and Samaras offer something in that department I'd keep them for now. Lassad however won't do. To be fair though, if you were basing it on today they were all poor. I'm not for a knee jerk reaction - its one game afterall - BUT I don't think we can ignore the obvious. A string of below par performances agains so caled inferior opposition. It needs addressed. Attitude and bottl are a part of it but so is the lack of guile. Paul

Agree1 Disagree0

Samaras is a liability and always has been.

As for knee jerking, let me ask you only for us getting into the last 16 would you say its acceptable to drop 20 points in a league minus Rangers and not turning up at hampden against inferior opposition again?

Any other season going by results people would be screaming for Lennons head.

Seems like these bad days we continue having are being easily forgotten.

Agree0 Disagree1

Its not the manager I feel sorry for its the fans, another gutless performance and guys like Mulgrew continue to play ever week when he should be warming the bench at the most. Player of the year, what a joke! Oh and if your looking for players to get rid of start with Wilson!

Agree0 Disagree2

Whilst not a great result (!) two "positives" for me.
1- Nice additional payday for St Mirren (and Hearts) which should help keep the wolves from the door, and we must all surely agree that is a good thing for the game- plus two sets of supports get to look forward to a great day out, with a real hope of winning something- with respect, I bet Hearts are delighted it's St Mirren, and it could be a cracking atmosphere and a full house to boot. Great for the game.
2- At least no-one has come on saying McCourt should have been on!
Punt Samaras? Aye very good- best player by a mile this season in the games that really mattered (with Forster), and before everyone says he should be world class every game, just remember what we paid for him. We can't afford genuine world class and we would do well to remember that.
Ok, so we are out of the league cup, and I agree winning it would have been great- however 20m+ from the champs league which will secure the future of the club (possibly for the next generation with the right investment) or no Europe and a League Cup final to look forward to? Just be thankful we got rid of that performance today, and not in a fortnights time vs Juve...:-)
I'm sure I'll get pelters but hey ho. Just looking forward to the Juve game. Neilbhoy.

Agree2 Disagree0

M8 if it wasn't for sammy we would be out of Europe never mind the champions league. As someone else has posted "take it on the chin and move on" we have more important games to come. Hail hail

Agree0 Disagree0

Take it on the chin! What a load of rubbish! How many results do we have to take on the chin before the players start to realise you have to play to win games. 3 semi finals lost over the last few years. don't know what's worse the performance today or the stupid posts about moving and on and knee jerk reactions. Its not good enough and if we play like that against Juve they will make us the laughing stocks of Europe!

Agree0 Disagree2

Punt sammy !! unbelievable statement, after years of struggling to score away in europe we get a guy who scores in 6 on the trot and you would punt him for a bad day at the office ! get real ! andybhoy

Agree2 Disagree0

Just another one to add to list of big game failures since NL took the reigns ...
Ross county, braga, Utrecht, killie, hearts, rangers, not good stats .. I reckon we have one only a fifth of big games ... We should be doing better even allowing for team evolution.

Very very disapointing....

Hope the atmosphere & fans shake team up for juv match.

Agree1 Disagree0

Just a thought we are quick to congratulate the scouting system on bringing in young players .Who lets all the young players go st mirrens best players were all excelts makes you think eh .

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes St Mirren have good players but they are not very consistant. that's why they are second bottom of the league. Would you really swap Wanyama for Goodwin, Mathews for Van Zanten, Carey for Izzy and Samaras for McGowan?

football throws up these results, Not so long ago we beat Barc and we're hoping for an other shock result against Juve

Agree0 Disagree0

A tad knee jerky I must say. 3 st mirren players on 2 celtic in the box for the first goal, a horrendous attempt at a block for the penalty and 6 celtic players on 2 in the box for the third. a totally inept defensive display. whether the organisation of forster was missing or the tactics where wrong we will never know. unfortunately the blame seems to be laid at the usual suspect sammy. didn't have a great day but neither did chelsea, spurs, liverpool. its the cup it happens

Agree0 Disagree0

C'mon guys this is the team that we were all shouting about in europe, give them a break,

Agree0 Disagree0

One game and now calls for player clear out. Samaras and Commons have played well this season so a bit unfair to be calling for their heads. Lassad hasn't had enought matches to be judged, but I did think he showed positives in the D Utd match.

If Izzaguire is the subject of any offers I would take the money and run.

Agree0 Disagree0

The op is right in one respect and that is that this team does think it is better than it is, they aren't mentally weak as they have proved against superior opposition but they have continually failed to turn up against what with all respect is inferior opposition, its the one thing I find dissapointing towards our manager, that he has failed to find an answer to this going back all the way to ROSS COUNTY..........

Agree0 Disagree0

I was the original poster, going back to that Ross County game, who did lenny single out after that game, his actual words were " performances like that of Samaras get managers sacked" well he put in another yesterday equally as bad.

I for 1 would be happy to never see Samaras in the hoops again, have a look at Celtic forums and i'm not alone in this.

As for Commons he had 4 months when he first signed when he was outstanding, last season he was a joke and this season he has been the same.

Lassad is heartless, in fact he's Samaras with short hair

I stand by my original post in that all 3 need punted sooner rather than later.

As for Izzy he had 1 good season like Lee Naylor then it all went downhill, take the 4 million if offered and RUN

Agree0 Disagree0

But for big Sammi we would be out of another cup!!

Agree0 Disagree0

With that logic, we would be going for 3IAR this season but for his bottling the penalty at mordor, I could give you more instances but why bother, i'm in the Samaras is useless camp

Agree0 Disagree0

Samaras has more quality in his right toe then most of the team put together!

Agree0 Disagree0

Samaras is the reason we are facing Juventus. He has come good the past season and a half. lay off the big man, get far too much stick. He plays in the Hoops, therefore if you support the hoops, support the players wearing them!

Commons had a poor season last season but he hasn't played bad enough this season for this treatment.

How you can hound Lassad I don't know. he's hardly had a chance. Do you really think flogging 3 attacking players at this late stage in the window is wise? whos going to come in with their experience for big games in such short notice?

Come down out of the clouds and get back to reality. We are not as attractive to players as we once were. SPL is a dieing league and we can't attract a lot of better calibre players with bottom of the table EPL teams able to fork out multi millions on players and daft wages.

So stop getting on players back and get behind them. We are not Rangers Fans. We don't hound our players like they do. Samaras I have critisized on many occasions myself, but he is the main reason we have a glamour tie with Juventus. He has had a good season when it matters most. The past is the past. The present and future is all that matter!

Absolutely disgraceful performance inept in all departments, too much time allowed when the opposition are in possession time & space to take touches pick there passes crosses & still we don't get close enough. Helps to if the centre halfs show awareness of what is around them instead of ball watching far too easy on numerous occasions today for the strikers to take a position up & no centre half anywhere near. Mulgrew & Wilson were shocking midfield were was it ? I would have hooked lassad after 30 mins though imo you could hav picked 75% of the players today & none would have grounds for complaint, maybe they should put there wages in a pot & refund the fans or give it to charity I wouldn't accept a wage after that brass neck again at hampden. We'll done st mirren the hungrier team won it & fair play to them. AbS

Scott Brown had a decent game

Awful were

Pass Marks for
Ledley
Hooper

Agree0 Disagree2

@ 1st post, Ledley was rotten too.

Wilson can't read a book never mind a game.

St. Mirren deserved the win and we didn't deserve a pen, but what a terrible effort to convert it.

3 in the middle if the park resulted in a non existent midfield.

MgC

Agree0 Disagree0

I think too many players believe their own press, Scott Brown was the only player to get pass marks today. Definately missed a bit of width today, well done St Mirren the hungrier team won. Mrs M.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree about Ledley, very poor but so where the rest. Very disappointed Wanyama never made more of a mark on the game. We actually looked like the bottlers we so hate being called. Defence was back to its old nervy, unsure self again. Keeper isn't good enough, Lassad was an embarrassment from the off and IMO no one got pass marks. Brown didn't give up and didn't do much wrong, hooper was passable only because he scored. But I still couldn't say pads marks for either if them. Shocking display when so much was at stake. Should have been a treble but we blew it again, mentally not tough enough.

Agree0 Disagree0

How do you give hooper pass marks? Apart from his goal he didn't look interested...he looked like a man playing his last game for the club! The whole team were found wanting today by a hungrier st mireen and fair play to them, totally deserved to win. I've said for a while that sammy only plays when he wants to and for me a celtic fan that's not good enough, lassad looked like a lost school boy, wanyama looked as if he was thinking of his own headlines in the papers...why on earth did mulgrew take that penalty and not hooper, our top goalscorer who had just scored before the break? Zaluska looked the bit part player he is, shocking and nowhere near good enough, izzy looked ok at times but I certainly don't think he should be sold...ledley looked slow an rusty to me, nowhere near the ledley we know....wilson, infact al leave it there with him never rated him and never will. Broon was broon, typical battling away trying to drive the team on but too many couldn't be bothered. Time for a few to go that want to go, they clearly don't want to be here and that's a fact...cause they didn't look interested in getting to a final of a cup competition!

Oft!

Right from the man between the sticks to the men scoring.

Gk- zaluksa since Forster has been out he's been lucky that we hammered hearts & utd even pass backs are bomb scares really need a good no 2 that good they challenge Forster for no1 shirt

Def- Wilson first half shocking maybe it's down to game time but just makes pass marks Mathews played great really great marked 77 most of the game izzy & mulgrew ....next

Mid - Sami really I thought the team forgot he was on the park first half no one marking him then made the worse pass back to the defence when we were on attract Lesley week at time & wanyama just waited for the pass like Sami that never came. Brown makes pass marks just about

Strikers- hooper not interested if he ran a yard towards our midfield thenhe would have scored easy. Lassad I really want this guy to make it at Celtic but hmm time will tell done more off the ball than hooper anyway

Well done st mirren best team won however I wouldn't like to be in that dressing room just now

Lenny

Believable8 Unbelievable6

Lenny's granny could have scored the goal that Hooper got, he just doesn't want to know now, he smells the green stuff from down South, time to bring on Watt or Austin from Burnley before he's snapped up

Agree0 Disagree1

Lenny, hooper scored and hit the bar what did lassad do,,, deep river bhoy

Agree1 Disagree0

Get a grip of yourselves. St mirren played way beyond themselves today. We hit the bar twice and missed a pen. Can be put down to one of those days. But take nothing away from st mirren they were superb and deserved there win.

Agree0 Disagree0

Funny how the green stuff didn't effect him against Dundee utd! What a load of p!sh, the whole team had a stinker! Puting the ball in the net was easy because he did well to get into that position.

Briggs

Agree0 Disagree0

River bhoy I agree its his name on the score sheet again & he did hit the bar I always say give hooper the bullet & he will pull the trigger. Off the ball though he just ball watch as did lassad but lassad ran from left to right many of times to chase the ball hooper never. I do think hoppers mind was else where too. I would really love to see a creative mid in that team need one badly !

Lenny

Agree0 Disagree0

Samaras -empty shirt all day long, but NL- where was the man motivation? Todays perfromance was exactly the same as our previous two Hampden trips. The more motivated/hungrier team has won against us on the last 3 occasions. Do we think we are too good to be beaten?

Agree0 Disagree0

Too many 'one of those days' I'm afraid. Commons if fit should have been on from start as only creative player we have. I agree Zaluska not good enough for back up keeper. As for Hooper - good poacher goal apart- 1st touch when back to goal is absolutely shocking. Finally why Charlie for penalty. As commons not on pitch, should have been Broonie. Hampden hoodoo! Dhanbo

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought Zaluska had a nightmare, big Forster was missed today. I'm not so sure we should have gave Zaluska a new contract. Don't rate him at all. Ian L

Agree0 Disagree0

Might not agree to everything but have ticked agree for well done to St Mirren, Celtic did not even turn up the coach to go to the game

Agree0 Disagree0

We got over run in the middle of the park, the manager has got to make formation adjustments with subs and the first 11, but he let it drift and we paid the price, Some times a man in the stand could help, kyal should have played in a 4 man midfield, against your St mirren's of the game you have to win your tackles and out dig them before the class can win the game, we were 2nd to a lot today and suffered . Lennon should have expected a war today its a semi and not a home league game, you can go through the players all you want, but in my opinion we were set up wrong as a team in terms of personnel and formation, and that lands the fault of the defeat at the feet of the manager and the back room staff.

Zaluska should be released.he aren't good enough for back up.mulgrew is not a centre half and imo is only in the team for his set pieces.not good enough in defence.lassads an imposter.hoopers lack of effort at times leaves a bitter taste in ny mouth.from turning away and not chasing when we were down.

another shocking performance at Hampden again, no excuses for that...today was a clear indication that wee lack that little spark coming off the bench that tricky winger type with pace and that can unlock defences with a pass or a mazing run, our subs are too like for like I for one can't wait for Rogic to start playing he seems like the kind of player that would have changed that game today....

Flynny

Believable10 Unbelievable7

Dont care what any 1 says wanyama wasnt interested today can't remember 1 tackle he went in for if you ask me he is scared 2 get hurt incase he don't get his big move but he wasnt the only one who was poor why can't they get themselves up for big semi finals and finals etc ? we lack a fast winger type and a creative midfeilder hope rogic turns out to be a wee gem lennon needs to boot them up the ass and stop dropping the non performers on todays game would be whole team

Agree2 Disagree0

Rogic has only played pro for one season so we don't know what he will turn out like,,, deep river bhoy

Just heading out to the game and was thinking that this batch of Celtic players have some questions to answer.Since Lenny took over our Hampden record is not great. Ross County(to be fair not really Lenny's team) rangers, Hearts and Kilmarnock all should have been beaten in my opinion.Granted some strange decisions by officials did not help but these games should have been won.Add to this the implosion at Inverness and you do have food for thought.I am not a knee jerk reaction person, I think any team at any time can lose a football match, but these were important games that, if won, would have given us one of the most successful periods in our history.Today, backed by the huge majority of the crowd, these players must stand up and show the rest of the country we will be the dominant force for years to come. One defeat and one win v Barca should ensure we get a domestic treble this season. If we don't some players need to look at themselves.Come out like a hurricane today, press them from the first minute, get an early goal and enjoy the match. We know it's in there.show us it today..........green jhedi

Believable9 Unbelievable7

What rangers/celtic game at hampden are you talking about? The 2011 cup final? Go check up on that game and the stats, think you'll find rangers were the better team that day.

Agree0 Disagree1

The kiss of death GJ ha, didn't see all the match but from what I seen we weren't clinical enough in front of goal, plus goal keeper was suspect. didn't see enough of the match to comment further.. Goreybhoy

would take a punt on David bentley.he can play a few postions and is direct and suits our style of play, cheap option and a good addition to the squad.

Nah, money grabbing so and so, backfired on him big time.

If tottenham wer willling 2 pay the wages then i'd take him for 6 months wouldn't be a bad bit of business

Pretty sure he was on massive money but would take him if we could do a deal.

Does anyone know how much our bid for Juan Agudelo was?

Believable3 Unbelievable8

Not enough evidently. Chivas have said it was not a 'serious offer'

~seamus~

Agree0 Disagree0

Knowing celtic it was probably well short of Chivas valuation....if we want quality we need to pay for it, and lenny said he wants his summer recruits brought in this window so they are ready for champs league qualifyers in july and aug...so we need to get our finger out in the transfer market before its too late
