Wondering if anyone else has had this problem. Tried to renew my adult season book today online and no £100 discount was shown, same price as last year. ! Is this a genuine offer from Celtic or a PR stunt.

Believable3 Unbelievable5

I've had no trouble renewing & my ticket is exactly £100 cheaper :-)

I've renewed mine too online for £398, £100 cheaper than last year, so un-named poster jog off back to supporting your team in Scotlands bottom tier. Stevie

Agree1 Disagree3

Thought I would double check with Celtic ticket office first before I replied. My ticket last year in the lisbon lions stand for me and my son was £398 (without Rangers / Dundee game). Now they are telling me that that package is no longer available and the same ticket is now £442, an increase of 10%.
No-where in the e-mails, adverts or online does it mention this, only that Adult prices are being dropped by £100.

ps. Stevie, your reply is exactly why I don't put my name on these blogs, I only asked a simple question in case I got it wrong but all your reply was the minority narrow minded bile that brings decent Celtic fans down to 'thier' level. Grow up.

Neil Lennon on Football Focus today, if anyone missed it :-) Mrs E

Believable8 Unbelievable2

Was it just me or did they show a clip from the 2011/2012 celebration too, when talking about us winning 2012/2013?

Agree1 Disagree1

Cos we don't have trophy yet. mark

Agree1 Disagree0

What I got was the difference of reaction to no celtic players in player of year from lawreson (spelling) and fowler who both agreed with lennon as to those of pundits and journos in scotland. mark

Considering what NL said about resting up players who have had niggly injuries so they can be ready for SC final it will be interesting to see his team selection tomorrow. Ambrose, Wilson, Ledley and Commons haven't trained this week and I don't think he'll risk wee Forest on a pitch like that. So I would take a guess on Forster:Lustig : Wilson : Ambrose : Izzy : Sammy : Kayal : Vic : Rogic : Hooper : Stokes. Thoughts. DH

Believable1 Unbelievable3

I think we will see Zaliuska in goal. Kayal, Rogne, Rogic and Stokes are certs. The rest? who knows. Chalmers maybe and Mcgeough. Be interesting. I'm actually looking forward to it. green jhedi

Agree1 Disagree1

Same m8 a love seeing players who don't allways get the nod get the chance to express there selfs

Agree1 Disagree0

Wilson and Ambrose have the week off, don't think they'll be playing. Hopefully that doesn't mean we have to play Rogne.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nice early game, hope you're right about Rogic, be the boss in midfield Tom!

just a quick question: if wanyama was to stay another year which I really hope, would he not be clever to sign a new contract? because if he would earn more for another year?

Believable3 Unbelievable3

I think we should offer him a big contract, he should be one of our top earners, as he is one of our best players. Plus with him on a bigger contract we can demand more of a transfer fee in the future.

Quack

Agree1 Disagree0

Agreed Quack, give him a years extension plus £20-25k a week, we keep our best player, he earns out of it and develops further and we get a good fee. Far too simple on paper though.

G93

Agree1 Disagree1

Answered this yesterday. It's in his interest to run down contract as in short term earns less but lower transfer fee= bigger wage. If he don't sign a new contract I'd sell in jan '14 window latest. Stevo dundee

Reading lennon in a newspaper yesterday he seemed to talk down wanyama staying saying he would love him to and champs league could be the carrot to tempt him to stay but realistically he would only play six games a season in cl at celtic compared to what is going on down south and if celtic got a big bid they would have to think about it and wanyamas agent would have to do what is best for his client. also the article says celtic transfer budget for next season is 5mill but can all be spent on one player but celtic won't break wage sructure and risk upsetting dressing room. mark

Believable1 Unbelievable5

When I posted this post thought I gave the scotsman as the source but must have written newspaper. This was a half page article with direct quotes from lennon. It also says the transfer budget is 5mil for next year although I don't think that part was a direct quote. Worth a read. I would leave a link like others do but don't know how. Did you see this article ED? {Ed007's Note - Sometimes the filter edits papers' names, S*y etc, Mark. It's really just because we are all stubborn bar-stewards here and don't want to send people to sleazy low-market media outlets like The S*n, or help keep their figures up. Reading stuff online still helps them with advertising figures etc. Anyhow, that's beside the point, if you want to post a link just right-click on the address and 'copy' it, right-click on your post and 'paste' it. Make sure you remove the http// part of the address, start it with the 'www' part. Here's the article you were talking about:

ghuys, ghirls. what's your thoughts on drink at the ground. I would be all for it, when drinking in the ground was banned, let's not forget, it was not sold there. it was people going through the turnstiles with carry outs. people were getting in with carrier bags full of cans and bottles.
i'd imagine any booze drank in the stadium would be sold in the stadium in plastic cups at airport/train prices. but that would be preferable to squeezing into any of those pubs around celtic park before the game. shammy

Believable9 Unbelievable3

I travel in car from Huntingdon cambs it takes me 5 hours ish and as you shammy the pubs are pact when I was a bit younger that was my thing but now I bring my two young bhoys up and for next year looking for someone to car share with so on my trips not driving back I would love a beer inthe ground while watching my hoops, the fact is the 80s was a testing time for football everywhere times have changed and the risk of losing your season book is enough to control order, let's get it straight we are talking of 3 beers at the most Celtic need too push this through as a extra cash injection in to the club but most of all to treat ther fans like adults, jodrok

Agree0 Disagree1

In this climate, it just isn't going to happen. And probably shouldn't.

Agree0 Disagree1

There's a dozen or more bars already. Executive seats and hospitality. People are drinking before during and after game.
I don't see how the cheaper seats shouldn't be allowed the same enjoyment.
People's behaviour has changed the last thirty years.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think it would be a great idea mate. It would be so easy to implement for the club and another source of income. there are so many ways to operate this scheme, all of them very sensible in my opinion, that there is very little to condemn it.

Sadly we have to face off against the rugger playing middle class, and we all know they don't think the oicks can behave in a civilised fashion. It will come, but for me it will be at least three years away. green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

It would make sense to bring it back, in the 80's it was not controlled, With the way football grounds are policed and the amount of stewards in them, I don't see it being a problem nowadays. Anything that brings people back into not just Celtic park but to football as a whole I think at least needs to be tested. maccabhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Would love to believe that all of us could act in a responsible manner and that having a beer at paradise would be the norm unfortunately there are a few who probably due to lack of intelligence cannot be trusted to do our hoops proud

Agree0 Disagree0

Its entirely acceptable and proper. On the continent you can drink. At the Euros you could have what you wanted. I had a few beers myself at one of the games and very nice it was too celebrating Sammis goal v Germany with a beer. The beer in any case usually 2. 3-2. 8 % light stuff. Still refreshing and enjoyable and better than a poxy soft drink! The mayhem involved in getting a beer at pubs around the park is avoided by all but the bravest and youngest drinkers in our support and good luck to them but its not for me. A refreshing light beer is the way to go inside the stadium. I applaud this initiative regarding grown up social drinking as I do Mr Lawwells developing initiatives for the match day experience. Sopotcelt

Agree0 Disagree0

So, so far, most in favour. good.
i was in dublin last year and sitting there with a pint watching the game was nice.
the last time we went for a wee drink before a game a paradise, the pub was so crowded it was a pickpockets dream, and some fecher took her purse from her handbag. shammy

Agree0 Disagree0

No way seen to many drunken ar*eholes who have abused real fan's even women & old folk during my time at parkhead seen some real liberties being taken by booze fuelled dafties. Also the amount of so called Celtic fan's I have seen in the last couple of years damaging with a bevvy in them seats toilets roofs doors inside paradise no thank you I believe in the long run more fans with family etc would end up not going imo. Few other things to add people going to the toilet up down in & out your seat & finally confrontation with the police I think they are just itching for an excuse to sort a few Celtic fan's out. In an ideal world it would be fine alcohol at the game but not in Scotland inside stadia please no. HH AbS

Agree0 Disagree0

So then Celtic fans are drunken whatevers? No offense but what decade was all this happening in? No-one is saying there is to be a free for all bevvy session. We are talking about well organised grown up social drinking. It will start I would imagine with a controlled restricted introduction. Then rolled out as we go dependant upon the feedback. We know there are certain factions in the establishment itching to nail us but should we then give up on our aspirations and plans because of them? One of the problems encountered now is guys rushing to get a few bevvies then as a result rushing to the stadium with time short due to in no small part the restrictions. Alcohol consumption is made much worse by intense drinking over a short period. This goes some way to avoiding those scenarios. Also I defy anyone to have more than two or three pints of regular beer or lager and be able to enjoy the game properly. You are either rushing to the toilet or just can't follow things properly due to a fuzzy head. I accept there are going to be eejits about but why should the 99. 99% of adults be treated like weans because of them. In any case there will be restrictions and strict controls and sanctions for anyone causing trouble. They exist now BTW alcohol related or not. Sopotcelt.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think that drinking at games could be controlled. The stewards could check peoples i'd going through the turnstyles and those eligable could be given a slip that would allow them 2 drinks only. These slips could be stamped at the bar and when the slip has 2 stamps no other drinks would be served. What do others think? JK

Agree0 Disagree0

Sopot have you ever been to a game? These instances happened this season last season & previous seasons not years or decade's ago. I sit in113 had 4 old bhoys who had sat next to me for years we had a drunken ar*ehole & his weans take up seats in front of us within 2 game's the drunken ar*ehole had threatened the senior citizens two of whom had difficulty with there Mobility. His exact phrase was this " stop asking me to f*cking sit down or I will open my jacket up to sort you ya auld B*stards yees! I had to intervene as it was disgusting shocking even mate, I'm there with kids & women to enjoy watching Glasgow Celtic play football & support my club in the proper way not intervene on frequent occasions with ar*eholes over the years like I have had to do & the common denominator has always been alcohol. I'm not a Ned who thinks he is something but I will & have told quite a few drunks over the years inside Celtic park to shut there mouth singing bile or behaving in a way that's an embarrassment & puts our club in the spotlight for the wrong reasons. I'm not the moral compass of Celtic but I would never do anything to shame those famous hoops with my support. If you would like confirmation of any of this my family & other supporters who sit around me will confirm these instances & many more mate, not a problem. HH AbS

Agree1 Disagree0

J. K folk who don't drink could pass there vouchers/stamps or how ever it works to those who do I would like a wee beer enjoying the match but the privilage would be abused anyway the soft drinks on sale are watery and luke warm what chance have you of getting a decent pint plus the constablary would never go for it good idea just to many negatives i'm afraid
thommyj

Agree1 Disagree0

To abs i'm with you 100%, enough a-------s at celtic park behaving atrociously having been drinking prior to going to match, can't imagine how they would be with more alcohol available inside ground
for me leave it as it is. jimbhoy

Agree1 Disagree0

If they can successfully do it in England then why not? The home team generates more money from the away fans being contained within their concourse drinking rather than the pubs outside. A no brainier!

Agree0 Disagree1

Getting more disagrees, I can understand your reasons, but nasty, aggressive anti social behaviour is nothing to do with drink.

if we had 50,000 in celtic park, all drunk, or drinking. i'm pretty sure 49, 500 of us would be fine and cause no trouble, but yes you would have the rest who would be arses. but those arses are arses when they are sober anyway. look at it this way, if the arses were drunk and the behaviour was getting out of hand, maybe that would get them banned and rid of.

to the disagrees, you are all good/nice people, as am i, and like me you would never cause bother no matter how much drink we have. i'll give you an example.

80 odd thousand celtic fans went to seville. most of whom drank copious amounts of alcohol. zero arrests and a fair play award. I rest my case m'lud .

I know I have mentioned this before but I think we should move for Danny Rose currently on loan at sunderland. He would provide great cover for izzy. What's everyone's thoughts on this

MikeyBhoy88

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Is he not a right back mate?. green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

Any time I have seen him he played left back, but is he not with Spurs and out on loan to Sunderland, wage's might be a drawback
Tambhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

He's a left back but cover? are you serious? he's twice the player izzy is

Agree0 Disagree0

Defo a left back. never once seen him play down the right. And izzy would be cover for rose, don't see it happening di canio will want to try sign him if sunderland avoid relegation which looks likely now. and personally don't think rose would be interested in moving up here.

S

Agree0 Disagree0

Iv mentioned him because his family live round the corner from me and when he's been home I've said to him if Celtic came calling what would you do? He simply smiled and said definitely lol
