Heard that Stevie Clark is to be the next manager at Celtic, God I hope so just wacked a tenner on it!

Believable13 Unbelievable19

Top coach, don't want him as manager though would much prefer garcia or mackay, maybe even jackie mac. If its coyle or mccarthy I really can't see me being there much next season

Agree0 Disagree1

Every bookie has owen coyle odds on

Agree0 Disagree1

Bookies have their own agenda mate. I don't know anyone that's bet Coyle. If they're saying they,ve took money money on Coyle he's probably put it on himself, I used to watch him every day after training with Airdrie heading straight to the bookies.

Agree1 Disagree1

Agree with marky, only reason I put money on it was I overheard a guy in Ladbrokes on the phone to his son, who works at parkhead, then next thing you know he tries to whack 100 quid on it as the odds are 11/1 was only allowed to our on 50 but still may have legs

Worst fears coming to bear? Coyle and agent seen entering Celtic Park?

Believable6 Unbelievable25

{Ed007's Note - Tw@tter nonsense?? I know where Coyle is today and it isn't CP.}

Fair enough sir, hasn't been ruled out yet thou .

Agree0 Disagree0

If Coyle get's the managers job, I'll give him 15-20 games max. But I reckon in that time he'll have us out of Europe completely n the League Cup, both at the first hurdles, playing horrible football!

Agree0 Disagree0

The worrying thing though is Coyle's price is the only one getting shorter, whereas everyone else's is getting higher. None of the fans I know want him, so if all the bookies have him at 1/3 etc surely they must have heard something, or certain punters must have. It wouldn't surprise me though - in my 30 years going to the games the board always do the least imaginative/least progressive thing. It's almost as if they take a sadistic pleasure in doing the wrong thing. I think they must be a bit backward, who on that board is a real student of the game? They are all businessmen . To be fair Lawwell seems to be acting more like a director of football by the second. I think he was making all the football decisions under Lennon. Anyway if it is Coyle my nephew will be using my season ticket for another year, not because I dislike him/hold it against him that he turned us down - he seems like a great guy/real Celtic man. But I like to think of myself as a great guy, even alright guy, and I'm certainly a Celtic man. Coyle simply doesn't merit it - he has been a complete failure for the last couple of years. Uwe Rosler made a huge difference at Wigan in a matter of weeks, and I even heard Maloney saying that they were very impressed with the new ideas he had brought, he said they were working much harder under Rosler/training was much harder, but they were all very impressed. And that's a guy who has just come from bloody div 2 in England.

Agree0 Disagree1

Which Bear? Why is he so afraid?

Agree0 Disagree0

The only one's I know betting on Coyle are sevco fans

Agree0 Disagree0

Brentford were in League 1 when Uwe Roler managed and they have since been promoted to the Championship. I know he didn't see it through but he laid solid foundations. By the way, the Bees support thought Niall McGinn was carp.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well pardon me - I meant the old div 2, 2 leagues below the prem. The point I was making was a manager from the league below the one Wigan were in came in and seemed to have higher standards than Coyle had, which was worrying. Who cares about Niall McGinn, what's he got to do with anything, if you are trying to have a subtle pop at Celtic/the standard of our players, then I agree that there is plenty of room for improvement, but we still beat Brentford on their own pitch recently with our youth team, I think young McGregor got the winner!

Agree0 Disagree0

If owen coyle gets it then I personally won't be giving another penny until he, s gone
Will give the team every backing but just not him, terrible manager and has also turned us down before so if he gets appointed then it shows the calibre of character our board has.
I was on the other day saying I hadnt heard of oscar garcia and a german coach but by the sound of things garcia is apparently supposed to be very good and ambitious and good with working with younger players.
I hope we narrow it down to a 4 man shortlist of David moyes, Malky Mackay, Paul Lambert and either Oscar garcia/Brian laudrup.

on another note can someone please clarify why we, re apparently having to sell again this summer if we get a big offer for fras or vvd?
i know how the finances are up here and getting an attractive offer is hard to refuse but 2 back to back cl campaigns raking in the best part of 40-45m plus 20m in transfers and spending a fraction of that should mean we shouldn't have to!
Are the board so stupid to realise we need to spend and keep our players to progress in europe??

John Park been offered the Director of football post at Norwich and is supposedly thinking it over, mate just texted don't know where he heard though. you ED?

Believable0 Unbelievable10

{Ed007's Note - I had a message from the Norwich Ed about it this morning GJ but I can't see JP leaving Celtic, he is very close to Peter Lawwell and has a lot of power at the club. The only way I can see him leaving is if the new manager stipulates a dilution of his duties from Football Development Manager to just chief scout and I don't think Lawell would like/allow that

When there is no news, the vacuum is filled with nonsensical rumours .

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair chance he saw in the back page of paper

Got a text from one of my pals last night, one of the names doing the rounds now is Martin Jol as manager w/ Wim Jansen as DOF? Don't know how reliable his source is but.

Like the idea of Jansen, Feyenoord are producing some great young players and signing some good ones too. Not so much Jol though. What about Tony Adams!?! Or McLaren and Jansen I would have.
