Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Hibs signed 'keeper Scott Gallacher today, Marco.... Was there a pic of him with a green & white scarf or something maybe?}

27 Jan 2017 00:42:54
No I just heard something about a goalkeeper and celtic and hibs then I saw Lennon but my little girl was running about mental today so your problem right ed

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Doesn't the wee yin know there's a transfer window open? :-D

27 Jan 2017 09:11:18
Aye just at the wind up Marco ;-)

Jokes aside would be happy for Gordon to go to Chelsea and for Fasan to be given his chance over the next few months

I know . she can be a bit selfish lol anytime celtic are on she is as quiet as a mouse lol

{Ed007's Note - Except when we score I hope! :-D

A lot of talk regarding Gordon

Here is a question:
Gordon or Douglas?

Myself- Gordon

Believable2 Unbelievable0

26 Jan 2017 19:08:56
Douglas as in Rab Douglas?
I don't think that's even a debate.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2017 19:30:54
Douglas a bit old now at least Gordon has a year or two left?

Agree2 Disagree0

26 Jan 2017 20:04:27
Not even debateable, Douglas was a horrible keeper

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2017 20:16:25
Douglas was up there with Carl Muggleton. Cost us a UEFA Cup in my opinion. Not a big fan of Gordon but Douglas makes him look like Peter Schmeichel. Pity we didn't have Forster in nets against Porto.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2017 20:29:15
I'd take Ian Andrews purely for his Tennets Sixes performance ahead of Douglas

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2017 21:48:37
Big rab was hopeless

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2017 22:39:29
Douglas was good at the time. Gordon or de vries is more apt and it's Gordon every time.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2017 23:33:53
Lol!
I always felt big Rab was by far the weak link back in the day.
We have never been blessed with solid keepers until the holy goals and big fraz.

A great celt but I never rated packie either.

"Eupen are acting funny on my transfer. They are frustrating me and my agent for their own interest. They promised to let me move in January if I have a good offer. Now there are good offers but they now want me to sign for their own agent before I move, and they want me to sign for CSKA Moscow which I am not interested in. This is unfair and not acceptable. " - Henry Onyekuru.

Just to add fuel to the fire.

He will be a Liverpool player this week I think. I hope I am wrong

26 Jan 2017 21:37:36
To be fair to skinnybhoy at least he tried to cone back after posting and give more info. Unlike these guys who make a statement like it is fact and are never seen again! Bring back Skinny!

He wasn't in the squad tonight.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jan 2017 00:37:13
He wasn't in the squad because he's went walkies! Because he's wanting a move but his club are trying to send him to a Russian team! This lad mite very well be a good player but he sounds like trouble to me. and the fact he's part owned by some other outfit means I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole!

Agree0 Disagree0

This has been a bit of a mess from the start.

Apparently we've knocked out a 3m bid for CG from Chelsea.

Aye, stick a '1' in front of that Roman 😆

Agree1 Disagree1

26 Jan 2017 16:38:25
I thought 3m was a cracking price for him.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2017 17:01:56
Really? And who do you think we could replace him with for that 3M

Agree0 Disagree1

26 Jan 2017 17:16:38
marshall.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Jan 2017 17:50:45
£3 million is a decent bid for a 34 year old who we paid nothing for.

As long as he is replaced I would take it.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Jan 2017 18:07:44
I would be hoping to invest a lot more than 3m in a gk.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2017 18:14:09
When we sold wanyama I ďont remember another 12m player coming in.

Don't remember the van Dyke money being invested in a 10m player either.

There's no way br isn't looking at another GK it wasn't that long ago he dropped CG and only put him back into the team as he's the best we've got which isn't a compliment.

Strange point shug

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2017 18:44:31
The fact is if Chelsea want him we should be asking for at least double or treble that.

Agree1 Disagree1

26 Jan 2017 19:10:32
Give them Devries - plus £3m

Agree2 Disagree0

26 Jan 2017 19:11:54
Tick

A lot more than £3 million for a new keeper? We haven't spent over £3 million on any player since BR came in and we probably won't any time soon.

Remember that we picked up Forster for £2 million so there are bargains out there.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - We had loan fees to pay for Forster which were about £750k a season if I remember right, Niall.}

26 Jan 2017 19:19:53
On what basis would be asking for double or treble 3m?

That's almost as rediculous as 6m for mckay, not quite tho but up there.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2017 19:35:34
Do you really think we would knock back 3 million I don't I think the player ain't interested in going to sit in a bench

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Jan 2017 20:12:06
The cost of the player is irrelevant to me personally niall.

The point I was trying to make tho is we need to be serious about signing a good keeper and if that means spending then we should at least be willing to do so.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2017 21:57:19
Tick. Hows it a strange point. CG although not be the CL standard we want is worth more to us to keep than letting go for 3m. For us to replace him with equal or better would cost us quite a bit more than 3m. Probably double that. So i ask again. Who would you replace him with given BR is looking at other areas to spend on.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2017 22:15:16
We've sold numerous players over the years and not replaced them with the same transfer fee hence me not understanding your point.

I don't know any available keepers within our budget shug but that doesn't concern me as I hadn't heard of boruc or forster and they done alright. I guess that's why we employ scouts tho.

I would also find it odd if BR wasn't looking at a gk, right now maybe not the timing isn't right but it was only a short time ago CG was dropped by BR and only reinstated coz de vries isn't up to it.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2017 23:58:39
I think CG will look at it from the point of view that he's winning trophies where he is, playing quite well overall (with the occasional boo boo) and getting a game every week. I'm sure he'll also remember that 3 years ago he was on the verge of looking for a job away from football so hopefully he'll not declare an interest in moving to Chelsea to be a tea boy. On the other hand he might think, "Stuff this, I'll go where the biggest pay cheque is. " lol HH

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Jan 2017 11:23:04
Ed is there any truth in Gordon possibility moving to Chelsea? If so are we looking at other keepers? I would personally like to see Boruc return

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Chelsea are interested but Celtic don't want to sell this window and I doubt Gordon wants to move down to London to sit on a bench.}

26 Jan 2017 13:33:46
Too good to materialise, this. We could squeeze a decent price out of Chelsea and invest that in a top keeper, or somebody with the potential to be. Gordon will have to agree terms too though. Chelsea won't hang around until the summer for Gordon.

I'd be surprised if he was willing to be a reserve keeper for anybody considering he almost had to retire at such an early age.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - That's my reckoning on it, Kev. Gordon's missed so much of his career through injury he will want to play as much as possible - remember he turned down a significant insurance payout which would have ended his playing career to fight his way back to fitness.}

26 Jan 2017 15:40:13
I wouldn't be surprised if he moved in the summer though Ed, even to a smaller club because, let's be honest, if DDV hadn't been such a bombscare Gordon would be warming our bench. I keep hearing people raving about Fasan so maybe he could be the man if BR has enough faith to pitch him in.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I wouldn't be surprised to see Gordon move on in the summer either.}

26 Jan 2017 15:41:50
Gordon has improved under BR and deserves to be our No 1 until he can't do it anymore or we sign Vorm from Spurs. Hail Hail

Looks like the Chelsea - Gordon link is true. Sky sports saying Chelsea are preparing a bid. It'll probably take a high price for him to leave. I don't know if he'd want to sit on the bench at Chelsea for the money. Plus that would mean we would need a new goalkeeper ASAP.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

26 Jan 2017 13:17:55
Gordon out of contract in the summer. Chelsea will probably try sign him on a pre contract deal.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Celtic have a years option on Gordon's contract so technically he has 18 months left on his deal.}

I'm sure there is a lot of hard work going on behind the scenes on the transfer front but I'd be surprised if we heard anything before Sunday as it's going to be an historic day for our club and the full focus of everyone should be on that. I can't wait and am hoping there is a full house! HH.
