When he has his day SJ could do a great job for us, and in several positions. If its a numbers game as for thinning out the squad, I would easily keep him ahead of Armstrong, Commons, GMS, Henderson etc.

Well said shugmckie. He had a good 9 months which he was exceptional (everyone remembers that) but that was a long time ago. Problem I think with him is arrogance. By the sounds of it he was offered a couple of decent contracts which were not up to his evaluation of himself. He's done nothing for a good while and has been mostly a passenger. Now forrest I wanted rid and was gobsmacked when he got offered new deal, but you can see why, were as it seems johanson has/ cant/ doesn't want to give anymore and for that he has go but with a thank you for what he has done. There is one or two that can join him also.

Johansen was a lightweight midfielder he was ok playing in Scotland but so are so many others, it is great news too my ears that he is off, how can we not go and buy some of the players from the teams we beat to get in to CL groups? there where some good strong midfielders in those teams that gave 110% for there team, and i bet some if not all the Astana players would jump at the chance to play for Celtic the same would be with the players from Hapoel Beer Sheva side we got the money and should go and take some of those players if possible.

Somebody once said football is nothing without the fans. Getting booed of a pitch - totally underservedly - and used as a whipping boy, not sure I'd be happy hanging around to be fair. Most Scandinavians grow up wanting to play in England or Germany too. Good luck to him.

What actually happened with Johanson bhoys? As ciaran rightly noted he had a good start to his celts career then just stopped performing.
I wonder if he had a fall out with someone behind the scenes we've qualified for the CL and have some cracking nights ahead and he heads to Fulham lol.

Johansen also had a few players turn on him due to a very nasty challenge on Tierney during training. Players literally had to be pulled off him.

Johansen was a good player 4 us, very under rated by 2 many fans n the booing was just awful, I expect 2 hear that at ibrokes, not Celtic park 2 1 of our own.
Again just hope we bring in a quality midfielder to replace him and another striker, oh n a goalkeeper as I'm not sure about those we have, never seen de Vries to be fair but we need a keeper that instills confidence in others.

The guy who told me that Shane Duffty was coming to CFC and Saido Berahino was going to Stoke, (he is retired, but his son is an agent who I know has dealt with some EPL transfers) I had a nice singles and double bet on this, still vald until next wed. Anyway he told me today that Celtic is still a move for Duffy, that discussions were still going yesterday, it is up to him to decide between us and Brighton, and he is moving towards us, the fee is around 3.6 million. he told me also that the James McCarthy move could be on the cards, said that he is on 35k a week, not 50 or 70 and that Bournemouth are in for him with a 8 million offer on the table, but that a CFC loan for this season with us paying all the wages would suit him better. Just passing on what I heard.

I think mccarthy would be a great signing he was being linked with a arsenal not so long ago . for me he's better than any other cdm we have at our club including club captain brown. I've no seen a lot of duffy to be honest but I think we need another cd that has serious pace.

I just don't see it lads. I would be over the moon with McCarthy and realise he's out of favour but he just signed a 5 year deal with Everton last August did he not? That puts him out the loan with option to buy bracket and considering how many EPL teams would pay north of 15 mill surely puts him out of a straight buy market as well.

I've seen him play many a times first at Hamilton where I thought he would amount to something special.
Seen him many a times at Wigan, Everton and Ireland and personally I've never seen him look any better than average but I'm happy to take your word for it man.
