Ed, just been told that if we qualify we will have 4/5 players in.
1. Stevens Dundee utd.
2. Finnbogasonn.
3. Pikki
4. Tunez
5. Loan signing?

Think we all would be pleased with that. This came from a corporate sponsor? so as per usual rumours are rumours, but let's get into the CL group stages and we will have a very very busy few days ahead of us in the transfer market.

Going on wednesday and Saturdays performance this post a million miles away, we are leaking goals abd looking flat because players are playing out of position at times mulgrew(cb) playing LM, CM samaras (LW) playing CF and watt (cf) playing (LM)players not looking interested at times no urgency foster, izaguirre plus players that don't look fit van djk, Matthews( even though he's done not bad still looks jaded. We are in this position because celtic failed to replace our spine of team through inadequacy on transfer market and not doing business quick enough. I hope we do get these players but of we start during the week like we did on Saturday the tie is over. HH hope I'm wrong

My thoughts exactly ChrisBhoy. We need the players if we qualify or not, will still have europa league to be ready for, as if we do bad in that comp it won't look good for scottish football co-efficient wise and therefore would be harder for us to qualify next time round for champ league the route will get harder and harder for us! I have said all season we have only ever looked decent against Cliftonville and they are part-timers. We got an example of what would happen if half our first team ended up injured, at the weekend and it doesn't look good, yeah we came back for a DRAW but we should never have been 2-0 down.

It goes without saying we should never be in this position in the first place-if things had been done professionally we would have blown that team away-it was like watching the Stoke reserve team, this sort of football should be outlawed. In saying that we keep possession of the ball for probably a whole second longer than them. With regards that list of players-it looks like the ones the great sports journalists of Scotland have come up with to me, and I would trust them as far as I could throw them. There isn't even a creative midfielder mentioned, who along with a top striker should have been signed 2 months ago. Also as far as I know the lad Steven at Dundee Utd was a fallback option if we didn't get others, obviously we eventually signed Dirk. Paul

Im actually glad i'm not the only one that's sick of al geris posts, there's pointing out weaknesses and then there's just plain negativity all the time and he is the latter.

I like the look of the finnish lad, would like to see a centre half in as well or a left back.

Get behind the team mate and let's cut out this negativity its not just you there a whole load of celtic fans that feel like you do. but we do not have a god given right to win games and inverness are a right good side, terry butcher is the best manager in the spfl so there's no shame in our second team drawing with them I feel.on to the next game eh.

Ed can you please shed some light I'm hearing the we have almost got Teemu and am hearing even more rumours that we are very close to signing Finnbogason I for one hope this is true I can't see us bring two strikers in and a midfielder especially with our situation with the champions league. If I could have your opinion I'd be greatful cheers
Samcfc {Ed007's Note - It looks like the Pukki deal will go ahead and as I have said before I always felt Finnbogason hinged on CL qualification. I expect a MF to be brought in and it quite possibly will be Bannan. I posted yesterday his situation and nothing has changed that I know of, his personal preference is CFC if a deal can be done.}

Barry Bannen, is eh awe right, that's it, not as good as Shaun Maloney! were are we going with signings like that? al geri.

I wouldn't compare him to wee shaun, he was used more on the flank at celtic, tryin to cut in on his right foot. The times I've seen bannan play he's always played in the centre of the park, might be wrong, he can see more vision wise than maloney, 2 completly diff players in all honesty.maloney will jink past players, bannan will play a pass.

Al geri who would u want to sign? And do u honestly think they would come? Come on, if u were in a good league or a good team would u swap that for the spfl? I'd play for CFC for free, just to wear the hoops would be a dream come true as it would with EVERYONE who posts on the site, but in reality these guys that are good enough to pull the jersey on won't come unless we can give them a decent platform to showcase their talents and that would mean we need CL football as I said the spfl isn't exactly a decent selling point.

Bannan would be a great signing. He reminds me of a Liam Miller who actually did get better with experience. Cracking signing if it happens!

I don't think Bannan would be as popular if he wasn't a Celtic man. What has he done in the game? He wanted to leave us as a kid to go to England-fair do's, I don't hold that against him, but he has never convinced any manager he has played for that he is good enough. He can't even get close to a poor Scotland team. I honestly don't think he's better than some of the kids we have, and they obviously aren't good enough. Also what age is he now?-23/24, you should have played 200 games at that age! Paul

Just reading the reports on bannan, I would be chuffed to bits if this is true! He's got the potential to be a really great player!

Bannan and Kayal are completely different players. They play in different positions! He doesn't get a game for a game for villa and is plainly overrated in my opinion. Ant88

Must say the Nolan Roux rumour which was posted seems to be the closest yet as he assured everyone that a signing will be made late sunday early monday

Barry bannan is not what we need we should be looking for a 6ft + tank in the middle of the park in the victor mold who can dominate a game with physical presance not a 5ft 6 migdet who can't get in the villa team.

Not saying Bannan & Kayal same players, but wouldn't say boy useless, agree not what we need but we need cover on wings unless you didn't see game yesterday pal watch it 2nite too many guys had to play out position so can understand why Bannan might happen, is he a great player? If he has been out wide, its only because he is part of a central 3, as in a 4-3-3. Granted we do need more creativity, and Bannan is much more creative than Kayal. For me though, I just don't rate him even when he was playing well when he broke into the Villa side a while back. I would much prefer the Argentinean we are being linked with. Ant88

He played out wide up at Aberdeen, would like the boy from Argentina myself mate but honestly can't see it happening, would also prefer Mackay-Stevens to Bannan, just hopefully get what we need from the players Wednesday night then might attract these guys dew to champions league. Chris30

Fingbogson or whatever would be a good addition to our present squad although I'm not impressed with Barry Bannon a midfield player who has only scored about one goal in his whole playing career I would say to Paul Lambert thanks for the offer but no thanks we already have players of his ability in our squad we don't need another flop later's BJTT
