Anyone agree that we should snap up Johnny Russell from Dundee United? Would love to see him pull on the hoops.

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't sign any players from the SPL for two reasons 1. None are good enough to improve our 1st team(with the exception of maybe Gary Mackay-Steven) 2. I would like to see the other teams retain their best players to either a) at least give us a bit of a challenge next season with no rangers* around, or b) to beat rangers* every week and relegate them on merit IF they're allowed to stay

Mikey Bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Rather we signed mackay steven

Agree0 Disagree0

Yea but to be honest would only like him here IF we sell stokes. think russell will just be that little bit hungrier in games than what we have seen outa stokes. not saying stokes hasnt done well this season but i just think he has the potential there to do more

Kieran1888

Agree0 Disagree0

Id take russell feisty and pacey

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah he's a good player, worth a bid. Would prefer a target man type though.

Agree0 Disagree0

I've never heard of Feisty or Pacey,are they at Dundee Utd also?

My mate was out with gary hooper last weekend and he told him that he is definatly leaving us to go to southampton, he said about 6million. He wants to be closer to home, he said he loves celtic but really wants to be closer to home. I said this a few months back and got loads of disagrees but this is 100% from gary hoopers mouth.

Believable6 Unbelievable28

My mates dog walkers cousins friends mums aunt sisters uncle told me that's bollox he is going to real Madrid

Marco1888

hoops has stated more than once he is happy in Glasgow and at Celtic so get a grip.

Can't even hold it together for one paragraph there mate.

Last weekend allegedly Hooper said this but you've told us months ago? Ha ha

You're probably right about the outcome but you're defo lying with the rest, lol

So Hooper knows how much he's going for . NL said he's been having talks this week with Hooper so either NL is bulls..tting or your mate is ....... No offence but I know who I believe."......."DH

Agree0 Disagree0

I was out with Steven fketcher last weekend for a mates birthday he said he won't be coming to Celtic even tho he would love to play for them he wants to stay in England!

Agree0 Disagree0

Either you, your mate or Hoops himself is talking rubbish here. Hoops is happy at Celtic, happy in Glasgow and desperate to play in the champions league so why would he wana move to Southampton? He will be here next season. Hopefully he'l realise his dream of playing in the ECL and score more than the 29 he got this year as well then after experiencing champs league nights at CP where else would he ever wana be?

Mikey Bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Im only passing on information that i got told, my mate used to play with hoops when he was at grays athletic and is good mates with him, ***** he said months back he was leaving and i posted it then but this is the latest news. Believe what you want id love him to stay but he is going, also how many players say there commited to a club then leave the next week they do this so the club will get good money for the player.

Robbhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

I think if we don't qualify for group stages then he will be off before end of August.If we make it then i think we will have him for another year.I have also spoken to Hoops and he loves it here,this was about 2 ths ago.I know things change but i believe him.

Jungle Bhoy.

Agree0 Disagree0

He would maybe wana move for more money how do you know he's desperate to play in the champions league did he tell you himself or was that the bit you read in the s*n don't you all say not to believe what you read in the press

Agree0 Disagree0

Bulls**t ...i am a close friend of gary and his main priority is to get a fair contract at celtic ... he refuses to be drawn into transfer speculation talk.southampton have not contacted his agent since january #fact
londonbhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

His chance of playing champs league football is either staying with Celtic or waiting for a top 4 epl team to bid for him, he would be silly to leave if he has goals! But you never know.....

Agree0 Disagree0

You base the whole 'evidence' on the 'fact' that your mate was out with hoops last week...then you claim to have told us about it months ago. which is it?

Agree0 Disagree0

I live next door to Gary in Bearsden, although, i'm the other side of the road to the bowling club.

If he really is leaving,his Mrs, who is a local fitness instructor, doesn't know about it, as they are coming to our thanksgiving dins (my Mrs is American)

Agree0 Disagree0

Champions league, yes but he wants to play for England and the only way that will happen is if hooper goes to the epl. Don't get me wrong he might stay but he won't sign a new contract and if he reallys wants to progress his international chances he needs to move I don't think that's fair but it's how it is same as your goalkeeper. Also slaggin off butland getting a call up is silly because he's a fantastic goalkeeper who will go a long way.

Also slating Southampton repeatedly is very close sighted of you I don't think your club realises the ambition and vision the club have. It's a club on the up.

Agree0 Disagree0

My Uncle Wifred's schoolteacher bought the same toothpaste as Gary so it must mean that Gary will quit football, move to Miami and become an international Porn Star.....what a bullsh*t post...

My biggest concern for celtic is that we fail to qualify for the champions league, then we may see all our top players looking to leave before the season even starts proper, and with our record in recent years in qualifying for europe I cant help feel a bit negative!

Ed have u heard anything regarding a croatian midfielder milan badelj. I was told by a friend he will be back up if henriksen doesnt sign. I think I remember his name popping up somewhere regarding celtic last summer.

Celticthomas {Ed007's Note - I have heard of him, he is going to be a major star (and is the current wonderkid for all the FM players). I doubt we would have any chance of signing him. Keep an eye out for him at the Euros, I expect him to move this summer as he only has a year left on his current contract.}

Hi ED:
here's a thought about subs and injured players.

1) if a player gets injured then the player who caused it also gets ( booked) and moved to the sideline while injured player gets treatment, then both return at the same time.

2) if an injured player has to leave play due to serious injury then his team get an additional sub on top of the norm 3 and the player also gets booked or red card.

Just trying to spice the game up a bit

Thoughts please

cprs1 HH

Believable3 Unbelievable10

Not all injuries are caused by a foul so how can you justify booking someone for doing nothing wrong, well saying that....maybe the SFA would be up for adopting it

Mikey Bhoy

Well theres a surprise now ! following last nights documentary The Men Who Sold The Jerseys on BBC1 , the pass the buck brigade are out in force , no one wants to take control and do the right thing .... Uefa are passing the buck to the SFA , the SFA are passing the buck to the SPL , the SPL will pass the buck to the SPL club chairmen , most of who are gutless wonders , David Grier is on television today saying he didnt know any details of the Ticketus deal when he was in attendance at the meeting , Duff & Phelps are refusing to release the documentation on the EBT's , this is a total joke , Scottish football is the laughing stock of world football , the evidence against Rangers is damning and none of these clowns has the minerals to take them to task and impose the proper sanctions .

Believable5 Unbelievable1

All the evidence is there, but no one wants be the one to flick the switch to end them...gutless every one of them

Agree0 Disagree0

Gutless? Scared stiff of the possible future and rabid fans. Self interest rules but that's always been the case. These guys think only with their wallets and care nothing for the fans. Integrity in sport, never been there and won't be now.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree...but with all this going on if it gets worse(with no one taken charge for whats right) then Celtic's name will be hurt in all this just because we play in the spl. and would hope that we would be able to switch leagues(i do like the spl and want it to stay and for it to improve, and i know uefa rules and how its not going to happen but with the mess and with Celtic's history hopefully they would let us) for i think the only way we would be able to save our name is to do very well in CL.
ed, im talking hypothetically here, if it got worse and the spl lost all credibility can Celtic (and or other clubs) be moved? because with Celtic the name,branding and history it cant possibly be shut down or be affected just because of others corruptness. {Ed007's Note - Really in that context then, a Zombie Rangers would have more of a case to join another league, they would be a totally new club.}

Agree0 Disagree0

24 May 2012 19:01:18
ED007, someone just said that if only Klos total 208 games during EBT period and Ferguson 137 games, if even just these two players games were counted as 3-0 defeats, that is still a helluva lot of games...
Imagine all the "Tainted" titles then... Timalloy {Ed007's Note - If the SPL/SFA push through that punishment then they MUST relegate Rangers, or even for the scale of it, expel them from the league altogether.}

Believable10 Unbelievable2

Given that it took a bbc show to get the sfa to give rangers a deadline, maybe they're not to keen to go there. ogilvie in to bat ? i know the sfa have to cross the tees and dot the eyes, but this is as plain as can be. ineligible players were playing for rangers and they reached a uefa cup final. is there a punishment big enough for this ? what ideas do people have for a fitting and just conclusion to this ? i think definite relegation to div 3 (killie could go with them if they want). removal of titles and trophies won along with prize money. a ban from uefa for the next 5 seasons they manage to qualify.
i see nothing unfair about that.

Agree0 Disagree0

ED007, is it not amazing how so many of the protagonists (Evinguu not bad eh?)
in this saga, all watched Hogans Heroes and in particular Sgt Schulz (I know NOTHING) Murray, Ogilvie, Johnston, Ellis, Sun tan Smudger, D & D then all these aforementioned business men who ran big businesses with multi million pound turnovers were so easily "duped"
what a clever con trick, they should make a movie out of it... ....

Rangers declared all EBTs, Celtic did not, the can of worms in now officially open, heres the quote from BBC

"Celtic confirmed that it established one EBT scheme in April 2005, which BBC Scotland understands was for the benefit of the Brazilian midfielder Juninho Paulista. The scheme was worth £765,000 but the club did not declare the trust payment to the Scottish Football Association or the Scottish Premier League. "

24 May 2012 18:11:23
After watching the documentary last night
the thought that this has been going on for years, maybe even decades, the level of cheating and giving the "institution" an easier ride over the rest of ALL Scottish clubs.
Remember the Cadette fiasco it goes back as far as that, probably even further.
Think also about all the players
we have had over the decades to not even get into the Scottish Football hall of Fame due to not enough caps....
The list of alleged corruption within our game goes on and on, I am sure there are more elderly brothers that could recall similar incidents relating to our club being at a disadvantage over our neighbours in the west being helped allegedly by the Establishment to remain in control of us rebels from the East.
Can any one else think of blatant hindsight memories?

Liam

Believable12 Unbelievable3

Can anyone seriously put it past these people not to bunged a few referees through the years.

Agree0 Disagree0

Just read in the paper today that Booby Chalton rated Bobby Lennox as one of the best strikers he has ever seen . How many caps ? 10 . A bloody disgrace. i remember going to Scotland games in th 60's and i couldn't understand why many fans were wearing rangers scarfs. Also everytime Jimmy johnstone got the ball ,he was booed. And people like Keevens called us paranoid.

Agree0 Disagree0

Think we got enough from the Craven interview last season to reasonably assume refs have deliberately acted against us. If this assumption is, in fact, wrong we do have plenty scope for thinking it rather than the usual blind paranoia tag handed around.
Rumour has had it John Collins was offered a briefcase containing cash,of course, during a meeting where Collins was saying I'm away to Celtic.

Mr mcmoist left a showerbag containing a wage slip at inverclyde on Scotland duty in 95 maybe 96 stating 2k per week. He must have been on more than this. Added to the reference to Goram on the page earlier it suggests these two were paid next to nothing in comparison to others at the time. Ebt's? Surely not, the paranoia in me is telling me that either these fellas have disposed of all paper work relating to ebt or as I half jokingly said earlier that the legends o 9iar are being shielded as this would be the last straw for the rangers fans. Just a thought really.

Jamie Mac

Agree0 Disagree0

Ye i recally the Bobby Charlton interview somewhere a few years back stating the same that he was the best goalscorer he had ever seen and would have loved to have had him in his pocket, or words to that effect. Think of all the Lions, for example and the lack of caps they total, for decades it has unofficially been going on, how is it that everytime Celtic question a decision they are found to be correct where wrong doing has been seen to be done, once or twice maybe a co incidence or an over site, but the amount of times it has happened smells like corruption on a grand scale.....Cadette, Caps, Farry, Lennon, dougie, dallas, etc etc the list goes on and on.

Liam

Agree0 Disagree0

Another thing, does it not say alot about our establishment running the game when it takes a journalist from outwith our country to open the eyes of Scotland and the UK to hightlight the scandelous behaviour of the widespread alleged corruption of our game and how our neighbours are given preferencial treatment and not to be questioned.
Can you imagine if it was our club caught in the same cookie jar? exactly
I was always brought up to know right from wrong and that good will always triumph over evil, good will always come to the surface.....I think we are seeing that now.
Liam

Agree0 Disagree0

If they could do it they will have done it.

Agree0 Disagree0

The Cadette saga was due to a fall out between the individual and wee fergus was it not? I don't think it was anything to do with rangers {Ed007's Note - Liam was talking about the Jim Farry sacking in regards to Cadette.}

Hey ed a question for you to change the topic and give ya a wee break lol...i was wondering if you heard or think if McGeady is going to be transfered? because im thinking the sell on clause would help us out with our transfer buisness for getting players in for CL.

Canuck Bhoy {Ed007's Note - If there is any offers from the EPL I would expect McGeady to move on. He has became unsettled in Russia (who doesn't??) and has said that he will not stay beyond his current contract which ends in 2014. I can't see him being there that long, there are a few English teams would be/are interested in him. I would expect Sunderland to be one of the front runners for his signature.}

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Thought there would be better teams than Sunderland after his signature {Ed007's Note - There probably will be, AV were keen until McLeish got sacked. I think the transfer fee might be a stumbling block to any move, unless Spartak drop it.}

hi ed just wondering who celtic are likely to be interested in this summer ? do you think they will spend big to try and ensure champions league football ? {Ed007's Note - There is no need to spend big, high transfer fees doesn't guarantee success. £4 million for Juarez?}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

4m for juarez? try half that maybe 2.5m get your facts right my friend,.,.kbarry {Ed007's Note - The fee CFC agreed with UNAM for Juarez was £4 million.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed's right, I think it was £3.8 million

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah unfortunately it was 4 not 2.5. Slight faux pas.

Agree0 Disagree0

Neil Lennon is on record referring to both Juarez and Hooper, that he has not paid more than 1.6 million for any player he has signed, telling the press to get their facts right before bandying about transfer fees. Franco63 {Ed007's Note - Who mentioned the press?}

Agree0 Disagree0

It was reported as £4 mill even celtic have said it was nowhere near that much. £2.2 million is the real deal

Agree0 Disagree0

£3.8 million would have been the total if he had reached the milestones set in the transfer arrangement, i.e. games played, goals scored, international appearances etc.

Mac

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed007 c'mon mate do your homework theres no way we/celtic paid 4m for juarez as the other poster states it was between 2.2/2.5million you can't always be right just cos its your site. Your telling me now lenny biggest signing was 4m? ,.,.kbarry {Ed007's Note - You do your homework, you can't always be wrong, but you are making a good job of it. You obviously don't understand how transfers are structured and I am not going to attempt to explain it you. Are you accusing CFC of falsifying their accounts?}

Agree0 Disagree0

Regardless of the fee I think Juarez is a bad example of money not buying success. The guy played well and looked a real prospect before disappearing off the radar. Shame it didn't work out for some reason or another.

Celtic have been recognised as one of the top 50 brands in the global game, while crisis club Rangers have dropped out of the elite.

Believable6 Unbelievable1

To revise that statement rangers did not drop out as that suggests they were ever in it. Celtic are the first Scottish club to break into the top 50 while rangers are in such a state those who conduct the research didn't even bother trying to value them.

Celtic came in at number 37.

I have to say, Rangers remain an extremely attractive investment opportunity:

1. Current owner has agreement to dispose of his shares to no fewer than 3 perople, Ellis, King and Green.

2. Current owner has an £18+m floating charge over Ranger's assets.

3. Ticketus are not going away. Once they realise Craig Whyte has very little personal equity, they will come back after Rangers.

4. The Big Tax Case.

5. The SPL investigation into side letters.

6. Transfer embargo for 12 months.

7. 8+ top earning players to leave this summer.

8. If newco (almost certain), highly likely 75% loss of SPL revenue for 3 years and deduction of 15 points for 2 years.

9. If newco, 3 years European ban.

Please forgive me if I've forgot anything from this highly attractive investment prospectus.
