Ed, how come you have an insight plus contacts in the game but have to answer ? to a pretty straight forward question {Ed007's Note - Because I get bored answering idiots over and over with the same stuff. I have better things to do in my life. How come you keep asking idiotic questions over and over again? Is the earth flat? Have you ever danced with the devil under the pale moonlight? Google the Illuminati and you will see the path.....Listen to Nirvana backwards and illumination will be yours. Don't say anything about the fake Paul Beatle shhhhhh.}

I heard he had a bust up with neil lennon because he was dropped for the udinese game
Agree0

Not the case, he has been carrying a knock and wasn't going to be fit for the kilmarnock game but said he will be fit for the old firm. Wether he starts a not is a different matter as lennon doesn't seem to go with him in the big games but he will definetly be on the at least the bench!

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew is looking to bid for two Celtic players next month. Gary Hooper and Emilio Izaguirre are the two that Pardew is chasing. Izaguirre is seen as a replacement for Jose Enrique who left the club for Liverpool. A package of £10.5 million is being put forward by Newcastle,£6.5 million for Hooper and £4 million for Izaguirre

Add them three figures together and thats a starting price , anyway the same press have told us liverpool are buying half our team

This is the same tosse* who in the summer said no player in the spl was good enough for the epl when in reality why would any player with any ambition what so ever want too sign for the biggest bottle merchants in european football, never won a trophy in about 25 years and probably be another 50 before they ever get close to winning anything

Haha nice joke m8, this is the same manager who is holding us to ransom for 2m for forster Di u really think we'll bend over n take a silly offer like that? Also just like to say had the pleasure of meeting Hooper yesterday and what a top bloke he is

Thats not entirely true mate, they won the championship 3 years ago! No way Izzaguire will be going for 4 mill tho hes worth 5 times that!
Agree0

10.5 million wouldnt buy hooper let alone izzy aswell.double that and we might consider.Celtic fc are financially stable so there is no reason for us to sell top players unless we get massive fees.If they were rangers players you might get the pair for 10.5 but not Celtic lol

Its about 90 years mate, good enough for them after the way they treated their managers, Keir
Agree0

Winning the championship is about as much good as winning the first division up here, not exactly a major trophy now is it?

The valuation that people,Celtic fans,are placing on these two players is way over the top. This is two players who are playing in the backwater of the SPL for a team that struggles against teams of the calibre of St.Johnstone and Kilmarnock,teams who are of the level of League one in England.
Anyone who thinks that these two players are worth double figure transfer fees should have a look at the players in a manner without bias just because of the club they play for and think what have they actually achieved in the game. Newcastle are very interested in them and believe both players may be able to make the step up to the Premiership. {Ed007's Note - Over the top? 35 million for Andy Carroll? What level has he played at, and now found wanting. Hooper has played and scored in Europe while Carroll's passport has never left his sock drawer. Give your head a shoogle pal, they are under contract, they are worth what CFC ask for them.}

4m wouldn't buy Izaguire's right leg

Celtic may play in the SPL back water but we also hold our own in Europe. How many English teams would have done better than Celtic in the group we had in Europe. They should be judged on what the do not where they play. They are both under contract and are worth what someone is willing to pay for them only if Celtic accept the offer.

To the obvious rangers fan coming on posting crud about valuations - how about that sulking, can't be bothered c/f who's working his ticket for what, 8M - get real

Comparing Hooper to Carroll isn't really a true comparison ED. If yiou want to go down the road of Hooper scoring in Europe,Carroll not then fair enough but at the end of the day Carroll has scored in the EPL a level above the Europa so where is your comparison in that. Carroll hasn't been a stand out as of yet but if you think that Hooper is a 10 million player as some on here seem to believe then i would reckon your way out in your valuation and are in the wrong job. As for people thinking Izaguirre is a 15 million or thereabouts player,delusion is the word that comes to mid. They are both under contract,true but does anyone truly believe Celtic would knock back a 10-12 million package for the pair,if so your having a laugh.
Agree0
Disagree0
Both players are good but never worth the valuations you are putting on them, jela isnt worth the 7-8mil thats being passed around on current form either. hooper could go for that price but izzy, been out injured for a while so maybe isnt worth as much as before the injury.
as for the guy who said winning the championship is as good as winning division 1 up here, this must have been a joke right? please explain how that conclusion was reached.

Sorry people I'm a die hard Celtic fan living in England & whoever said that championship is like winning the 1st div in Scotland LMFAO THE CHAMPIONSHIP is much better quality of football than even spl... Ed any thoughts trickycelt!

Think its not bad for a backwater of a league to have two separate teams competing in finals of european competitions in the last ten years.hooper and izzy are both class acts who would easily hold their own in the epl.incidentally,epl teams didnt exactly set the champions league alite this year did they.Best league in the world?dnt think so.hail hail.

Two clubs that compete in Europe year in year out that are guaranteed European football. Since the CL came into it's current format both clubs have made the last 16 once each despite having spent plenty on good class players. Both have a deplorable record in Europe partly because of the dire level of football competition in your domestic league but mainly because the SPL top teams are regarded as an irrelevance in the Euopean stage. This is why the like of Hooper and Jelavic are using both clubs as a stepping stone to elsewhere. How sad having your club referred to as a stepping stone.
