Here’s my update. Celtic won’t spend £7M on him, but we do need another striker in that mould introduced during this upcoming transfer window.

Apparently Celtic met with Slovan Bratislava representatives today in Vienna to discuss the transfer of Andraz Sporar. I really don’t see Celtic paying £7m. Think Peter will try to drive the price down and if Slovan don’t budge we will move on to the next target.

I don't think Sporar will handle the pressure here. He was at similar type club at Basel where he score just once in 26 matches and he didn't play well either in second German league while on loan ( 2 goals 10 games) . Im from Slovenia and I would rather see we go for Legia Warszawa striker Jaroslaw Niezgoda who Besiktas are interesting in.

I’m not suggesting that Celtic aren’t willing to pay the money Kev. In my opinion I don’t believe Celtic value the player at £7m. I would reckon we value him somewhere around the £3.5m-£5m mark. That just my opinion, not anything I have heard. I reckon Lawwell will try to do what he does best and negotiate the deal closer to Celtic’s valuation.

@Jure, that's a decent insight mate. He's got 5 Europa group goals in 6 games though, do you not think that's a sign he can make the step or is it being the big star in a smaller team bringing out the best in him?

Kev if he can solely concentrate on football he will do ok. When he was at Basel he was chasing top models with Ferrari. Yes he has good scoring record for Slovan but pressure there is not the same as here.

I know it’s easy to say, I watched his goal scoring videos , he has a good record but he’s so one footed it’s terrible. A few of his goals he’s scored with literally his right ankle as he doesn’t want to kick it with his left. Goes to the keepers left and still doesn’t want to roll it in with his left.
I’d love is to sign someone that can bang a goal away but if it’s to possibly replace eddy I’d rather stick with him.
