Apparently we are back in for Henrikson, no doubt a replacment for Ledley. I certainly don't want to see the back of big Joe, but if Henrikson was his replacment I would not be too displeased! what's everyones thoughts(if true, could just be paper pish)?

It depends on the fee involved. I'm sure he was their player of the season in his first year with the club. He seems like a good player and it wouldn't be a bad signing especially if (as expected) Ledley leaves.

Personally, I would rather us focus on home grown Scottish talent. It seems every year our European ambition get lower and lower.

I see no reason why we wouldn't focus on Scottish talent as we'd still win the League which is our number one priority. They wouldn't ask the world in wages and would certainly be hungry to play for a team like ours.

Just my thoughts.

Markus Henriksen is more the level we should be signing. Although on the other hand, we shouldn't be offering our our most consistent CM reduced terms, resulting in him being able to leave for free!

Agree0 Disagree1

I would prefer Armstrong, just my opinion but I think the lad would become a great player playing alongside Brown & Commons. How many times are we going to let good Scottish talent slip away. Chris30

Agree1 Disagree0

Agree with previous posts but would go even further. I think at least 4 dundee united players could slot into the team. gauld, soutter and armstrong are defo singing for me. the key to their success is in part down to consistent gametime. sign them then PLAY them! could united turn down 3.5-4 million offer for the three mentioned?

Agree0 Disagree0

As well as the 3 you've mentioned would also take Mackay-Stevens & the left back Robertson who we had & let go! I think the boy Gauld would cost 3-3.5 mill alone he looks the real deal, the other 4 maybe 1 million each maybe not as much, but totally agree if we sign any these lads they got a play. Think GMS a more consistent & skillfull winger than Forrest, Robertson good at going forward like Izzy but a better defender than Emilo, the c/b Soutter also looks excellent but can't see Lenny going for him, again but to me better c/b than Efe! Why cause the lad defends the way c/b should, solid & composed! Perfect partner for Virgil, in MY opinion! As for Armstrong big fan of his workrate & also looks as if there's a few goals in him, don't get me wrong would love Joe to stay but if he does (which looks likely) leave would rather this lad than another foreigner. Sorry if any of you feel asleep reading this & know I might get slated for this post but if we where to bring any of these lads from utd in January & that was our only business I would be happy with that. Time to look closer to home as it been proved this season foreign market doesn't work all the time. Can't understand Celtic all the time wanting to be kept informed about players movements when they doing well up here instead of bidding Johnny Russell for example, also can't understand why Atajic not getting a run in side? Pukki no doing it, neither Stokes or Amido so again really can't understand. Sorry again if you bored but just my opinion bhoys & ghirls. Chris30

Samaras and Ledley leaving is cost management, it's believed that the offers are on reduced terms.

Agree0 Disagree0

Samaras can go. But I would keep Joe. If it is reduced terms, shocking. When PL contract is up, would he accept less money. OF COURSE NOT. If you deserve new terms, get it. Samaras doesn't, Joe does.

We've a lot of our own young scottish midfielders either in the ressies or out on loan in Scotland and England. would like to see one of them given a starting place. some right prospects and more likely to stay long term

Agree0 Disagree0

Chris 30, which player did we have and let go of sorry? Anyway, so you'd have 5 United players. They're a decent young side but they're not that good ffs.

Agree0 Disagree0

Apparently Celtic had a delegation down here to watch our last game. Rumours are you were taking a look at Griffiths, Sako and Edwards. Depends on the money but won't be to unhappy to see the back of any of them. Griffiths isn't the best striker by someway in league 1, Sako unbelievable talent but very selfish, Edwards this is his level.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ffs what Jim! I never said they were a great side aright! Aye I would have Mackay-Steven before any our wingers in that team cause not 1 of ours can cross the road never mind a ball! You trying to say Gauld no good enough for us either, obviously you don't know a player when you see 1 Jim & you also delusional if you think we going to buy big don't kid yourself. The answer to your question at start is the lad Roberston who signed for them from queens park in summer plays left back, celtic released him saying he was to small! Aye cause Izzy a TALL left back isn't he! My opinions Jim. Chris30

Chris30. Well I didn't know that about Robertson so ta for that one. He must have been young though. Even a quick web search there shows he played for Queen's Park at youth level too. Regardless, Izzy ain't a tall left back no. But he's much better than Robertson. So I don't think it's me that can't recognise a good player. Because I can. And I would have Gauld. In a heart beat as I've said before. And in periods of games I'd put faith in Mackay Steven too. But you can't suggest all five of the players mentioned should be playing for Celtic after January or next term. We've got to aim bigger Chris sorry, because otherwise that's when you really start to fall behind. The fact it is your opinion is a given as well buddy. I'm only putting forward another one. HH

Fair play Jim u & family have a good Christmas bud. Chris30

Celtic will look to sign 4 players in the January Transfer Window to strengthen the squad for next season's Champions League Qualifier's.

Possible Signings.

David Forde - Millwall
Lee Tomlin - Peterborough United
Gary Mackay Steven - Dundee United
David Edwards - Wolverhampton Wanderers

Celtic still remain interested on making a move for American International striker Kenny Cooper now with Seattle Sounders, but the Parkhead hierarchy may be put off by the £3.5 million transfer fee that Sounders are demanding, QPR made a £4 million bid in the last January transfer window but Cooper who was with New York Red Bulls at the time rejected the move as QPR were facing relegation for the Barclays Premier League.

facing the exit door is flop striker Mohamed Bangura who has failed to impress the Celtic support since his £2.2 million move from AIK in August 2011, Charlton Athletic are rumoured to be making a £500,000 bid for Bangura in January.

Believable3 Unbelievable16

None of the above give me any cause to be excited, except for the exit of Bangura!
On second thoughts the prospect of signing Mackay-Steven might be ok. But as always, Celtic seem to prefer to sign a few mediocre players for the same price as one player who could make a real difference.

Gary Mackay-Steven for me would be a great signing, unlike our one trick pony wingers we have just now, GMS can beat the first man with a cross & to me is more consistent than Forrest. Chris30

Agree0 Disagree2

If that is the ambition of our club after allowing ledley samaras and by the look of it forster (with forde coming in) to go I won't be renewing my season ticket! I'm still not happy with the summer signings (except virgil) and they 4 names mentioned aren't doing anything to rectify that!

Agree0 Disagree0

To the no name poster, stop wasting peoples time with this nonsense.

Agree0 Disagree0

None of those players you mentioned are good enough to make Celtic's Bench! Pathetic!

Darrec

Agree0 Disagree0

Need a wee bit more class than that to get the fans back onside. But I do agree we will sign 4 and lose 3 if the vibes are true?

JJ

Agree0 Disagree0

David Forde: He's 34, and not all that great. There's better younger GK's out there like Kasper Schmeichel, Alex Smithies + Warner Hahn.

Lee Tomlin: Worse than what we already have, 68 goals in 315 is horrible for a striker playing his career between Championship + Conference.

Gary Mackay-Steven: Decent young player, natural winger, something we lack. I'm happy with that.

David Edwards: A downgraded, less consistent version of Joe Ledley.

Kenny Cooper - 85 goals in 244 games is terrible for a 29 year old 6ft 3in striker valued at £3.5m plus!

Agree0 Disagree0

The initial post is rubbish but the reason ford has been linked is his contract is up at the end of the year.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope this is all crap, if u add up the money wasted on strikers, Murphy, bangura, pukki, balde to name just 4 someone should be held accountable for wasting over 10 million on utter guff
