Good to see Ryan Mullen sign a 3 year contract. Another decent development keeper.

That'll be Forster, Gordon, Bain, Connor Hazard, Ross Doohan and then other younger development/ academy keepers.

Gordon and possibly Forster will be going which will leave us Bain as the senior keeper. Can't see Lennon sticking with Hazard or Doohan as back up so there'll be a need for a new number one. Will be interesting to see what Lennon does as we've done not too badly with keepers over the past few seasons.

I think Forster will still be our keeper next season.
Lennon will want to keep him so I think a deal will be done.

{Ed007's Note - Will Lawwell pay the £ and will Forster take a huge drop in wages to come?}

Ed, there's probably quality out in the market who would do a job for us. We've never been a team who has been bought to challenge for European quarter or semi places so I think you're right. It would be good to sign Forster though and try and get a couple of decent CBs who would come in on the back of having Forster. My main point was that we have a barrow-load of keepers but the majority development projects.

{Ed007's Note - Hazard and Doohan are both 22-years old now so they need to step up or be moved on for the sake of their own careers never mind what we need.
Don't forget that the last time we badly needed a 'keeper Lawwell gambled on a 32-year old with dodgy knees who hadn't played a game in about 3 years.}

You are quite correct Ed, they are the two issues.
Reports are saying FF will accept pay cut? - depends how much he is prepared to lose though.

There is also the Pedro factor as well as you rightly stated.

If the club got a few million windfall from a potential Moussa transfer to one of the top English clubs, would you use that money to secure FF or should we look elsewhere for a keeper and
Would you have anyone in mind?

I'd be surprised if Bain was our no. 1 choice for next season.

{Ed007's Note - I'd be delighted to see us sign Forster mate but I'm not building my hopes up. As for a replacement I've been saying we should sign Odds BK's Sondre Rossbach for a few years now.}

I thought the Copenhagen keeper was very good and could be worth a look at bringing in.

I read Lennon is looking to tie up Hayes and Gordon to new contracts so if that's the case it'll be Gordon and Bain as #1.

Although he's 31 years old I like the look of Benjamin Leroy of French 2nd division Ajaccio. Contract expires 2023 though.

I think we will get the wall on another years loan.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'm not so sure about that, Kev as Southampton want him off their wage bill. I hope you and the tribe are keeping well & coping during the lockdown.}

25 May 2020 16:25:52
Aye we are fine bud, you? Lack of footy is killing me though.

We could end up playing his whole wage for a season rather than paying them a fee?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - We're fine too. I'm hoping that Southampton will only ask us for a fee that will cover their pay-off to Forster and then it's up to him whether to come up here permanently.}

They are supposedly looking at ntcham. Could be a player exchange? The wall and eli?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Would you take that? I'm not sure myself.}

So hearing the latest rumours circling around are that a few teams are apparently interested in Ajer, particularly leicester and everton.
Seems leicester will always be linked to most of our players and personally think it's just paper talk but I've got mixed feelings on this one if they are solid.
Cracking player on his day and got potential to improve on his timing and positioning but can also be a bomb scare at times and recklessly dives in.

25 million and they can have him take the money and spend 8 on a replacement and tieing Edouard down for one more season.

Can't see anyone paying that kind of money for him in the current climate. Regardless of whether he stays or goes we need another CB in to challenge.

25 million is a no brainer sell. Not like for like with football finances moving on. Compare to what we got for Virgil.

When you consider we got big Jullien for 7m I'd take 25m for Ajer in a heartbeat, for his size he is crap in the air ( I like the CB to be more dominant ) don't get me wrong he is a good player and has some really good attributes but for that kind of money he has to go for me.

Could get in a good replacement, New GK, New LW, Cover for other areas and still have plenty of change. His performances have took a dip under Lennon and maybe he feels the same as KT did and feels now is the time to push for a move to a big club before the decent offers dry up and his progression stalls.
