Mail on Sunday are saying that Celtic are interested in signing Jorge Molina Vidal. He's a striker for Real Betis.
After watching a few of his videos on Youtube ( i know) he looks like he would be a good signing. Strong, good link up play, reasonably quick, great finishing.

just seen on sly sports news that personel tems are miles apart with West Ham and jelavic.
if they are in talks with the player would that mean that the clubs have agreed a fee Ed? {Ed007's Note - Well the club can grant permission to talk to the player while they try to negotiate a transfer fee as well. It means that Rangers are admitting he is available if true.}

Just a thought instead of rushing to buy target man in this transfer window. We should wait till summer and see if we can get Leon best. He's be playing great footie this season and would destroy spl.. What you think ed {Ed007's Note - You are kidding right? His goal against QPR last week was his first in 12 matches, since September. Four goals in eighteen appearances this season and 52 goals in 216 games in his career is not the type of player we need IMO. He is a lazy player.}

I see NL saying he wants a Sutton or a Hartson "somebody who will put their head on it" so if we do get someone in that class will we eventually get rid of Samaras who should hav been punted long ago and has done nothing of note since he signed for us........DH
Believable10
Unbelievable8
Dont talk rubbish, he has been excellent for most of this season. He was crap yesterday because the team were still trying to play long balls to him in a hurricane. He has found his niche out on the left.
Agree9
Disagree4
If he has found his "niche " out left why was NL playin him up front ?........DH
Agree2
Disagree2
I have no idea, he moved him out left early on though.
Agree1
Disagree3
If Celtic can get money, then they should bite the hand of any club that is willing to pay for Samaras. The guy has had more chances than most, and for far to long goes missing... then as a window approaches picks up his game. Come February he'll disappear again. Get Rid!
Agree1
Disagree6
Yeah I agree he's worth keeping.
I think he plays his best football on bigger, well conditioned pitches though - he needs time on the ball and space to move in to be effective.
I'd play Ledley on the left on smaller, rougher pitches where the midfield is congested and we'd need to put tackles in all the time rather than wait for an interception. Yesterday Imrie (possibly MOTM for St Mirren) had far too much joy down their right. If it was Izzy and Ledley he may not have had as much as Izzy is a better defender than Ledley and Ledley is better at defensive duties out wide than Samaras.
Agree4
Disagree1
He was up front to get brown in the team. Brown had to go on the right, which meant forrest had to go on the left so it came down to a choice between Sammy and Stokes up front and Sammy has been playing better recently.
Agree1
Disagree3
I just dont get what people see in Samaras , not enough heart for me . Big John and Sutty would have ran through a barn door to burst the net . Cannot say the same for Sammy .
CelticMatt {Ed007's Note - Samaras would miss the barn door probably.}
Agree5
Disagree3
Like him or not he causes teams all sorts of problems. Before Cha arrived he was the fastest player at Celtic, add to that he's strong and good in the air = full back's worst nightmare.
A lot of goals during the run have come from defenders being dragged out of position trying to deal with Sammy.
I dont think its fair to say he doesnt have heart. He can be a bit mincey with his body language but he never hides. Even when his confidence was at its worst and our own fans were booing him (!) he always showed for the ball and gave his all.
Mac
Agree8
Disagree2
Samaras is an enigma, has the ability to run past defenders , play as a targetman , has a powerful shot, invites tackles to win free kicks and when he is in front of goal it usually goes pear shaped, should have scored load more goals, he is a striker playing on the wing, enough said, we need a goal scorer, Keir

Hey Ed, just wondering what your opinion is on what you think Celtics transfer business will be like this month. Personally I see us waiting until 29th/30th Jan until we do anything...as you know CFC seem to be very good at keeping it under wraps until its in the latter stages. personally I think we'll try to sign permanent striker and if not it'll be a loan on the last day...not Keane style but a decent enough player

Luca Toni if his attitude was right could be a decent loan signing , but at 35 his best days are behind him , although in his time he was an excellent target man with a good scoring record , Djbril Cisse is a good striker when on his game , but similar to Samaras when not in the mood , i think given the choice i'd rather have Cisse , he is younger and much quicker , certainly more than good enough for the SPL , he was a good player in the premiership .

Apart from McCourt and Loovens (possibly Juarez), I think the club would let them leave for free. Blackpool are still keen on McCourt and Loovens is out of contract in the summer. Thompson's loan was switched from Peterborough Utd to Chesterfield during the week.}

Huddersfield are doing a deal with Celtic for the transfer of Jordan Rhodes in the summer.
Nigel Clibbens has apparently had talks with Celtics Peter Lawell about a link up between the clubs.
This deal would see Rhodes transfer to Celtic in the close season, the fee is still being discussed!
As part of the deal Huddersfield will have access to Celtics young players and fringe players with Celtic picking up the majority of wages.

I think this may be true, it sounds like something Celtic would want to do instead of forking out alot of money and should intrest huddersfield as well. Hey ED i think you hinted at this with a post saying "imagine if hooper and rhodes played together", for this is a name people now know, as you said we would bring in someone who is a known striker...is this him?(i always thought the main striker we were looking for would come in the summer anyways) what have you heard and is this possible/what are the chances? He does look the part but do you think he can make it on the big stage?(on Celtic against europes best in CL)
Celtic Canuck {Ed007's Note - I've said before that I don't expect Rhodes to move in this window. There is an EPL side very keen on him who might test Huddersfield's resolve but the owner and the player aren't keen on a deal this month. The price might go too high for us in the summer. I think Rhodes will go on to play at the highest level if his career is managed correctly.}

If Sunderland don't want him then they can try and get another club to pay the remainder of of his loan deal. It's the same situation with Jurez at Zaragoza. They don't want him but can't send him back to Celtic as part of the loan agreement. Is that correct ed.
Daz the Hoopy. {Ed007's Note - Sunderland would have to terminate the year long loan contract with Arsenal and he would return to them. Arsenal are his parent club and own his registration. It is immaterial anyway, he has played for two clubs already this season, he made a league appearance for Arsenal before he was loaned out.}

Ed, am i right or is it not a calendar year that you can only make league appearances for 2 clubs? Think it happened with Daniel Cousin at one point...
Danjam {Ed007's Note - Here is the statute.
Players may be registered with a maximum of three clubs during
one season. During this period, the player is only eligible to play
official matches for two clubs. As an exception to this rule, a player
moving between two clubs belonging to associations with overlapping
seasons (i.e. start of the season in summer/autumn as opposed to
winter/spring) may be eligible to play in official matches for a third
club during the relevant season, provided he has fully complied with
his contractual obligations towards his previous clubs. Equally, the
provisions relating to the registration periods (article 6) as well as to the
minimum length of a contract (article 18 paragraph 2) must be respected.

Hi Ed, you are right people are just shouting names at you about this striker. I get the feeling looking through comments you have made that we might be in for a bundesleague striker taking him on loan and then possible transfer. I was intrigued and was looking through squads and what might be realistic and I didnt see much that might be available. Marcus Berg and Adam Nemec but not sure if Berg would fancy coming to us and if we could afford him and I think Nemec is big strong target man but his return rate isnt great. Can you give us any further info or hints on this Bundesligue player - please!! {Ed007's Note - All I said/know is that there is a Bundesliga player on the radar, if I gave you a name right now I would be lying, sorry mate.}

Ok fair shout - what are your thoughts on rasmussen? I really liked the look of him and he didn't really get a run of games. Most of the games he came off bench and scored us a few goals. The club will be looking to move him on again this window.}

I thought rassmussen looked decent enough but we can only respect the backroom staff's judgement...they see the players every day and he's been on loan at 3 clubs and none have shown interest in signing him permanantly so he musn't be good enough...shame though

Michael Owen the footballer not the jockey, and i walked away from the nutjob

Ed, ure attitude towards fellow fans leaves a lot to be desired at times. its a rumour site where people come on and post questions etc. On many occasion I wonder why we bother and dont go elsewhere for community engagement. U claim to be bored etc with certain posters but ure responses on several occasions are also immature n contrite. I'd have thought ud have been expected to hav a more professional approach. Wont be surprised if this isnt posted even though all deatils provided.

Why don't we start working with danny Lennon as to loaning players to him, as his team play some good football, good passing game, would give some of our promising youth squad vital experience of spl
Believable13

I think thats a good idea providing they cant play against us

He's a good manager, would be good for players to get spl games, be far better than games they get just now, many if them are ready for the stepup , playing for saints on loan would benefit both clubs , they play like us, hence why gowser has slotted in well

What a great shout mate.said yesterday them n killie have been so refreshing this year,at last two managers who realise you cant come to bigger,better clubs and try n hang on n kick for 90 mins.keep the ball n play,you might get a bloody nose now n again but surely if your a fan its better to play the game the right way? green jhedi

Somewhat agree with the original post, would love to see celtic youths playing l for a celtic owned feeder club maybe lower leagues in the epl but that won`t happen unfortunately, totally agree with st johnstone playing good football, running the lines brilliantly and sheridan before injury was superb for them, keir

I posted it as I like watching for the development and 19s players breaking thro as I feel we have very good scouting system there. If we had a feeder team then we get to see many of the youths play against pro,s , see how they handle it, if they ain't seen as 1st team or we don't want to keep them on then we could at least make some development cash from them. Instead of throwing many of them on the scrapheap, if the players loaned were put out to spl sfl teams we would at least see them, ones that go south we lose touch with. Some celtic youths at Albion rovers? Just a thought, folk would be nosey and go see, killie ans saint mirren or morten would be decent footballing clubs to link with, fear guys lke watt , slane etc get fed up and leave

Holt is a MASSIVE Norwich fan, Lambert doesn't have many options and has said a good few times he can't afford to strengthen his squad. Also he's scoring goals in the EPL. I can't see him leaving TBH. I find it entirely laughable that Rangers are looking at him as well.
However, he wouldn't be the worst addition if he was cheap
Agree3

Can`t see him being sold in this window, plus he`s scoring goals for Norwich, and for a soon to be 31 year old player neither side of the old firm would pay a sizeable amount of a transfer fee , plus Lambert needs him...., Keir

A few rumours on other sites about Celtic being offered a big name Euro striker on loan. You heard anything about this Ed?? {Ed007's Note - I said last night that a target was not available to buy in this window but is available to loan.}

Any idea who it could be ed? huntelaar?

Ed do you have any idea as to why he would be available to loan and not to buy? And yous see the clown on the shames page as to who he'd like in, Jordan Rhodes for 3-3.5 million! Deluded or what?
Paddy {Ed007's Note - It could be one of many reasons Paddy. The club, could be being awkward, a financial matter in the player's contract (e.g. a loyalty or some other bonus due at the end of the season), even a release clause for the summer is triggered etc.}

BigD, I can only assume the previous poster meant that there is no way Huntelaar would come to the SPL or Celtic. Not that he is not good enough lol. As for Murphy, he was never going to be good enough!

Seen that in the BBC gossip column from yesterday and Rangers are eying up Grant Holt if Jelavic is sold.
Firstly, how the hell are they going to afford that?
And secondly, if he is available isn't he exactly the type of CF that Lennon has been looking for? I realise you're getting name after name thrown at you Ed, but have you heard anything about Holt's possible availability?
JD {Ed007's Note - I think he is available.}

If ever there was a story to highlight the EPL's arrogance towards our game, its in the sunday fail today. Harry Redknapp, who demanded 40/50 mil for modric, is ready to bid a "fair" 7 mil for james forrest. There defo is no comparison between the 2 of them atm but surely a bid of this size is just disrespectful. Kevbhoy

He can bid 7mill all he wants he will b told where 2 go if he wants 2 double or treble it fair enuff we may think about it bud we hav no nd 2 sell any player the squad is mega healthy lawell has got the finances all sorted its just the usual currant buns tryin 2 deflect attention from their team goin bust n tryin 2 unsettle our players it wont work as i think wee forrest is a bit more clever than that n a celtic bhoy thru n thru he aint a maloney 1 half decent season n hes away chasin money its pathetic IS1888

re celtic supposedly looking at a player in the bundesliga trawled through transfermarkt and the only person i could see who would meet the criteria is markus rosenburg, 27, experienced, 6ft 2, 1 in 3.5 average goal ratio , out of contact in summer so could be cheap , swedish international,(could make it easier to sign with our ex swedish players influence). do the people in the know on here think this is a possibility .

Thought this might intrest some hoops fans out there read this on a Nike site-
Starting off with Celtic, they will be celebrating their 125th anniversary and the club badge will be surrounded by a circular silver wreath. The new home shirt will feature the traditional green and white hoops however they will be narrower than usual.As for the new away shirt, it will feature black and grey hoops.
