Tbh think it would be a shame if we sold Commons. If he could find the form of last season he'd be a great asset for the run in.

Anyone heard this nonsense about Lenny being interested in Boyd?

All this Celtic are after Boyd is getting out of hand .I watched NLs interview and not once did he say he was after Boyd .Firstly we don't need him secondly he wouldn't sign for us and thirdly the Celtic fans wouldn't accept him........DH
Believable14
Unbelievable4
Why would we not accept him? he-s scores goals for fun! im sure after he scored a few goals the fans would get behind him. he's the leagues all time top goal scorer. people should stop being so bitter! {Ed007's Note - I'm not bitter, I just don't think we need him.}
Agree0
Disagree0
Neil lennon baiscally said he'd be interested in someone with boyds record but really meant "he is a f*d but cant say that on telly"
Agree0
Disagree0
As posted by myself earlier this week,Lennon is very keen to secure Boyd short at least as he is of the opinion that EPL clubs are ready to bid for Hooper who will jump at the chance to leave Scottish football. Newcastle are very interested inHooper. {Ed007's Note - Who are you? How do we know you posted anything? How do we know you have ever posted before? How do we know you even actually exist and aren't some kind of automatic typing machine? There is a theory that if you leave monkeys in a room with typewriters that eventually they will produce work equivalent to that of Shakespeare.}
Agree0
Disagree0
So because I don't accept him I'm bitter don't talk crap I don't accept him cos he's not good enuff for the Tic . Wasn't good enuff for Boro ,wasn't good enuff for Forest and certainly wasn't good enuff for an unknown team in Turkey........DH

Do you chaps not have enough Forwards
Hooper, Stokes, Samaras Rasmusen and Bangura plus looking to sign Diawara. I think its Media Mischief -
Pete
Agree0

Hows he not good enough for us?? he's the spl all time goal scorer that means he's scored more goals in the spl than king henrik. if he handnt of played for the great unwashed teddy bears then u would be cryin out for him! {Ed007's Note - Would he offer anything to the team that we don't already have? No. His style of play wouldn't suit us. Remember WS never trusted him in big games. Who would you drop from our team for him?}
Agree0
Disagree0
I would rather give rasmussen a chance than sign that t*t let him go to rangers they will need him more than us after there january sales

Lennon said he would be interested in him and that he played for rangers wouldn't be a problem it's on stv sport website.

Ed Lennon said today that he would be interested in signing boyd! {Ed007's Note - You should maybe read what he actually said.}
Agree0
Disagree0
He said :-
He is a proven goalscorer and a player with a great SPL record," Lennon said on Thursday. "So yes, I would be interested in him.
"We are speaking hypothetically of course. But no, I don't think it would be a problem he has already played for Rangers."
Mrs E {Ed007's Note - It was 'He is a proven goalscorer. I don't know how much football he has played of late but he is a player with a great record and any player like that would interest me.'}
Agree0
Disagree0
I wasnt saying he was , but the three we would like cost big money and at this moment he is available for nothing and we have history of picking the cheapest option {Ed007's Note - I honestly can't see him as being an option.}
Agree0
Disagree0
Not a chance of boyd! anyone heard about an investment from the new irish shareholder? been hearing more n more of this.ed? {Ed007's Note - No.}
Agree0
Disagree0
I would be of the opinion that any of the other 3 mentioned would improve Celtics squad in terms of providing something different. I would also be of the opinion that Boyd would offer nothing to Celtic as he is inferior to any striker already at the club and there are already two goal poachers in Stokes and Hooper who are much better players.
Agree0
Disagree0
Ed 007 - hes a transfer target as of today {Ed007's Note - According to who? Nobody has said that.}
Agree0
Disagree0
We will not buy 3 strikers in january. {Ed007's Note - We know that. We also won't sign Messi, Ronaldo, Paltini, Zico or Boyd.}
Agree0
Disagree0
If you were to buy Boyd you would be buying him on the basis of his form from two years ago. Both OF teams have done this in the past Beatie and Ljnberg being two recent examples neither of which work out. Although you could say that both Sutton and Hartson were also bought on history rather than current form. But clearly Boyd like the first two is unlikely to be physically at his peak. I would say no

Hi ed, 1st time poster, according to STV, team GB have asked Adam Matthews, James forrest and Scott Brown to participate at 2012 olympics.

I was under the impression that all registered SPL players with british pasports were written to personally (they wanted to avoid using the SFA and SPL) asking if they would like to play and are to return the letter with their reply ? Im guessing these three were mentioned cos they replied back with a "yes they wanna play"
could be wrong tho .....

I stay near where boyd was brought up,know who is friends are and trust me,he would never sign for us.People will mention mo johnston but this will never happen
Agree0
Disagree0
To the guy who says it would never happen, the only language footballers understand is the language of money!
If the dough is right he would sign( would not be in my team but he would sign) he went to turkey after miller told him what a disaster it is becuase of greed, he left the shame for more money nothing else and he will sign for whoever offers him the most money.
I think it will be jelavic away for several million and boyd in for free if his contract is void, but only because theres will be his best offer, he proved he cant cut it in the english championship, cant do it abroad, isnt really wanted( i hope ) by us, so there 12 or 14 grand a week will be snapped up by his greedy little hands.
Agree0

This was posted on this site three days ago by myself. Boyd will listen to Lennon and is keeping an open mind about his options,that includes signing for Celtic. Lennon has a genuine interest in Boyd and as has been said Boyd is prepared to listen. Newcastle are still interested in signing Gary Hooper in January and are ready to test Celtic with a £6.5 million offer,hence the Lennon interest in Boyd
Agree0

Boys he would be disowned, trust me! im all for goalscorers at parkhead but this is a non-starter!

Boyd never gave celtic supp any gyp when playing against us n if he scored against the dark side to win it would be ok.BUT..he is a real bluenose as is his fam n friends i think lenny wz at the noiseup

What happened to the,'standard of scottish football is below par',mantra that Newcastle were bleating about in terms of big Forster?
Have they had a change of heart!
fatbhoy67.HH.
Agree0
Disagree0
He's not seen as a first team replacement down in Newcastle - simply as a squad player. Newcastle wouldn't be willing to pay any more than £2.5m. Celtic's best bet would be to swap him for Forster and maybe also Best (who is still a Celtic target).
Agree0
Disagree0
He will end up in epl one day but will commit to Celtic for a few more yrs
Agree0
Disagree0
Are you having a laugh! Why would we swap him for Forster when we can buy him at the end of his loan. The above post sounds as though celtic are actively offering Big Vic to clubs *ROLLS EYES*!! Away back to biker grove with Jeff and yer big massive club.

You mad? Celtic's best bet??
Agree0

Celtic still need to pay for Forster though. Ask me who i'd rather see sign a longer term deal for Celtic - Forster or Wanyama? The answer would be Forster. Needless to mention i never said Celtic were actually going to sell Wanyama. {Ed007's Note - I'm lost..........??}

Agree0

I personally would rather see us do everything we can to sign jordan rhodes.he is too good a player to miss out on.if we could get him for 3-4 million and has 2 or 3 good years with us we could treble or quadruple in profit
Agree0
Disagree0
We could do with a centre back defo but we really do need a different option up front, if Hooper gets injured who will score our goals apart from Stokes but he's now injured and goes thru a barren spell quite often? Doubt Rhodes will come here now, think we've missed the boat there.
