Hope to god this isn't true he's by far our best centre half but i fear there might be something in this. Did DD no say before the qualifiers there would be a couple leaving but not till after the qualifiers?

he can't play on plastic.

maybe not a bad thing (providing we buy a couple who can play on grass and plastic)

Rodgers said in the press he won't be leaving. It's just because coetzee is coming in. Made up nonsense media wise.

It was down to the pitch jozo and the 5 -0 lead he was left out. The last thing we need after watching that rubbish tonight is our best CB leaving. BR normally leaves him out when we are playing on those type of pitches if he can.

Eric would seem to be the favourite to exit and although I liked him - he is as slow as Pat McLuskey in wet concrete.
I know the panic has set in after last nights loss of concentration and slackness - but in Boyata, Simunovic, Ajer and Coetzee we will soon find a great pairing.
Realistically we dominate Scottish football and qualify every season and the cash will take care of itself, while the team make steady progress, gaining priceless experience.

Oscar161.what was rubbish about it. 8-4 on aggregate; thought it was a great game, open and attacking and we're through to CL proper. Perhaps you should start supporting another Team or take up another sport. you clearly are an unhappy individual.

Well done CELTIC. AND HERE'S TO MORE GLORY AND FUN NIGHTS AT PARADISE.

He's been tweeting about how great it is to be back in champions league.

Jozo and dembele are cracking players but a bit fragile for my liking.

im laughing at the media saying we struggled into the champions league when did 8-4 on aggregate become a struggle?

One thing last night clearly showed me, is we cannot reject the half arsed preparation going into qualifying with so many gaps in personnel.

We need a full back. Hopefully Rivaldo and Simo will be a good pairing. Any combination that includes Shev and even Boyata is an accident waiting to happen.

We also need a better goalie.

Shoukd have hammered them last night but defensive balls ups put us on the ropes. We came off them and scored twice, but we shouldn't have had to and Rogers has gotten away with one here. He didn't prepare properly and that's the bottom line.
Whose fault is it he had to make all those makeshift changes? His.

He needs to get his finger out and better defenders in.

Having said all that, the Sevconians getting all exited and then hit in the face with a shovel after Olly scored made it even sweeter.

Get the players to do the job. They aren't in the academy, we know that if we are honest,

By the way Loyola l a very happy person and l don't need you making comments about me. I am entitled to my opinion and will always CELTIC.

Sardar Azmoun.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - Sardar Azmoun signed with Rubin Kazan last month.}

22 Aug 2017 19:35:23
would rather spend it on roberts tbh, also think if were looking at an 11 mill striker then dembele must be leaving.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Aug 2017 19:45:21
Give over, and pull the other one. So they know how much this player will cost, but don't know his name? Odd that. We'd only spend that on somebody if Dembele left for sure BW.

I thought the Iranian guy returned to Rubin Kazan after his loan spelll at Rostov ended?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Azmoun joined Rubin Kazan in 2013 and joined Rostov permanently in 2016 after spending time on loan there the previous season. Rostov confirmed the transfer back to Rubin on 14th July.}

22 Aug 2017 20:42:30
He the one that had to go to CAS at one point ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Yeah there was something about that when I was reading up on him the other day, Kev.}

22 Aug 2017 21:28:29
He's not worth half that anyway.

22 Aug 2017 21:16:31
Azmoun only signed a one year extension to his contract with Ruban Kazan. he was only on loan at Rostov.
Rostov claimed they bought him but they never.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Sardar Azmoun was subject to a very public dispute between Rubin Kazan and Rostov which ended in favour of Rostov last summer. Stoke had agreed a transfer with Rubin Kazan prior to the CAS proceedings but were aware that it would be very difficult to make a case for a work permit. Everton had also looked at the player two years ago but, like Stoke, knew the Work Permit situation would be a problem. Whilst playing for RK in 2014 it was suggested that Brendan Rodgers was keen on the player but I cannot confirm that. Rubin Kazan received a little over €2M in compensation at the ruling of CAS and have no recourse for appeal. Marseille have watched the player this season and but have other targets this summer, but they remain concerned that his best form comes in International sides who are lowly ranked. Antalyaspor, Leverkusen and Konyaspor have attended matches to watch Azmoun during this past season and Liverpool had representatives at the Atletico Madrid v Rostov game but the player made clear he did not want to move to Liverpool in January. There is sustained interest from Celtic and they might yet prove to be an option - else Lazio has discussed the player with Rostov.}

Ed is right he definitely transferred at end of his loan and then transferred back.

No Jozo. Is he injured.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It's a plastic pitch. Simunovic never plays when we're on a plastic pitch.}

22 Aug 2017 15:48:09
Why is that Ed? Is it an injury precaution?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Yep.}

22 Aug 2017 15:50:50
Thank god we're 5 goals up! Lol All our recognised centre halfs out! 😱😱 wee early goal would be good 😉.

I can honestly see us winning this by a couple of goals. The team has matured so much from the one last year when we were hanging on at the end.

22 Aug 2017 16:32:32
Great to see us wearing the Hoops we should be wearing it away from home every Euro game unless we play the likes of Sporting in future. Use everything we can to put fear in the faces of the opposition.

that my friends is why your board and manager are responsible for playing a kid and a midfielder at the centre of our defence.

I was never in any doubt we would qualify btw but I think our bench was at one stage.

after the game Rogers said "I had. " to play people out of position etc blah blah blah.

yes we have injuries, but we will always have injuries, how long have we known 1) Boyata is out and 2) we would be playing on a plastic pitch, so no jozo.

and they did NOTHING.

they gambled with us and it nearly (well not really) flopped.

Agree1 Disagree1

22 Aug 2017 19:29:38
That was too close for comfort. We were all over the place at the back. Bitton was caught out with pace which was my worry and positioning.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Aug 2017 21:28:52
They had a good 15 - 20 min spell where our own individual errors and possibly concentrTion levels dropped because of ht scoreline put us into trouble but even during their good period we could and should have scored . outwith that i thouvht we controlled the game
. with the manager tweaking formation/ style of play at correct moments.
