Rumour number 2 Pablo Piatti.
canny see it, £1.75million,
j88

Believable11 Unbelievable10

This guy would be a great signing but I think he knocked back a move to France saying he want to stay in Spain. So will be a no-go.

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope this happens, would give forrest a run for his money, can play either flank aswell as the No 10 role. Creative player we have needed since Lubo and Naka.

S

Agree0 Disagree0

Piatti is sh%t hot. but it won't happen! as usual!

Heard another striker we are linked with is pablo piatti! If so would be a major coup had a £30million release clause 2 years ago

Skinnybhoy

Believable9 Unbelievable8

Doesn't score enough, the Pukki deal not over yet he wants to come

Agree0 Disagree1

Piatti more of a winger or 2nd forward not an out and out goal scorer

Not what we need.

Talk on a lot of celtic facebook pages that the gb r bein aloud back into section 111. Weird how we need 2 turn round a 2 nil defeat and theyr suddenly aloud back in now lol. Wether its true or not I dunno just seein it on a lot of pages

GunnieBhoy

Believable17 Unbelievable5

Its not surprising at all in my opinion. If you look at the timing of their ban, it allowed for negotiations to take place without section 111 being closed for any actual matches. This was always on the cards nothing to do with the result in Kazakhstan. Just a chance for Celtic to flex their muscles and fire a shot across the bows of the GB with the minimum impact on matchdays.

Bankie Bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

If its true, hope they boycott it, LAWELL IS A DELBHOY. L.O.L. al geri.

Agree0 Disagree0

The Green Brigade should tell fat pete to feck off, the c@nt that he is.
He knows the GB will bring some noise, if the do accept, PYRO PYRO PYRO.
j88 {Ed007's Note - And see the club fined or worse? I've never disputed the atmosphere the GB bring to matches but they need to follow the rules. All this about being singled out is nonsense, you can lose your season ticket if you get caught smoking. As a qualified H&S officer I totally agree with the club's standpoint, the penalties for ignoring H&S issues are very severe.}

Agree0 Disagree0

They were never banned, they were warned and since that warning was issued they have been in constant dialogue with the club to resolve the issues raised (mainly on safety )

Agree0 Disagree0

I read this site every day of the week but I only post every now and again as I can't be arsed getting involved in the twatter mob rubbish!
I love seeing fellow celtic supporters opinion but some of you are pathetic! Peter Lawell has only ever looked after celtic first! Not players thinking they are above their station or fans thinking they know what's best! The GB can **** off as far as I'm co concerned, I was there through the rubbish and the atmosphere was always great, whether we won or lost. The GB are not celtic. This football club is a way of life, not a gang!

We will go through next week, not because of a certain section but because we're celtic, and all our fans make a difference

Agree3 Disagree0

Good idea al geri. They boycott the most important game of the season. Clown.
Henriks tongue

Agree2 Disagree0

Celtic had to be seen to do something about the Green Brigade before the HSE got involved. The Green Brigade always overcrowded the area anyway making it unsafe. They do a great job of making the place bounce at games and I welcome them back, looking forward to the flag displays if its true. Bobby

Agree0 Disagree0

Jesus Al Geri, do you even support Celtic? You're a moaning ball bag.

Hendy

Agree1 Disagree1

J88 and al geri why don't you two just feck off.Don't need your type of support.
Tambhoy

Agree0 Disagree1

Henriks tongue.WHO mentioned THE MOST IMPORTANT GAME OF THE SEASON?I THOUGHT WE WERE AT HOME ON SATURDAY!OR ARE THE G.B. JUST BANNED, FOR the weeeeee gamessss, p.s.maybees the 1ST LEG WIS THE MOST IMPOTANT GAME OF THE SEASON.THE TEAM DIDNAE TURN UP YA CLOWN.al geri.

Agree0 Disagree1

Lets charge peter £15 a head for the thunder to return. It was on offer for free, but my god they killed it!, ., .kbarry

Agree0 Disagree1

Naw Hendy a like a moan. al geri.

Agree0 Disagree0

Come on Tambhoy it takes all kinds. WE NEED ALL KINDS including ballbags like me.al geri.

Agree0 Disagree0

Tambhoy, I spend a fortune following Celtic and have the rite to moan if things ain't going to well, and at the mo, they arn't, fat Pete is short changing us again, We should have players in as hooper, vic, and wilson left us, and not projects. As for the GB fatPete has called for the GB to help pull the team out of a hole, if you don't believe it you are one of the head burried in the sand brigade.
j88

Agree0 Disagree0

Why exactly do you hope they boycott it? You one of the people in the gb who are constantly getting the club in trouble? We sang before the gb and we'll sing after they've gone. You can boycott it tho. You'll be the kind of guy who moans the whole game instead of supporting the team.
Henriks tongue

Agree0 Disagree0

J88 do not have a problem with your right to complain but your name calling is so childish, as for you spending a fortune following Celtic, what are you the only one? I have been following Celtic since 1956, how much do you think I have spent on them, I watched them when they were winning nothing and still would not resort to the sort of name calling you have, if your going to support Celtic then do so in the Celtic way.
Tambhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said sparky88

Agree0 Disagree0

Algeri Nobody called you a ballbag ( sound's better when you say bawbag ) but read my answer to j88, the same applie's to you mate, yes complain but don't start putting anyone who is trying their best for CELTIC, the other mob just love it when you do this, united together c'mon the HOOPS
Tambhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

J88 - such a cop out to use the old "I pay good money so I can say what I like" line. I thought that was the preserve of the EPL. I pride myself in the fact that Celts support their team in good times and bad. In case your head is too buried in the brown stuff, we are in great financial nick, have a good squad that needs a couple of additions and we are coming off the back of a last 16 appearance in last years CL.

All I'd ask is some perspective and not knee jerk reaction. Peter Lawell seems to run the club v well and that's why we have a club. I'm sure you slated Fergus McCann too but hindsight has shown him to be a hero. Wind it in and get behind the team.

Hendy

Agree0 Disagree0

Tambhoy, stick and stones . Fat Pete, now come on. Like yourself I've been following the hoops, over 43 years now, in one hand Fat Pete has done well for us but countless times he has shafted us big time.
J88

ps no offence ment to fellow Celts

Agree0 Disagree0

Hendy, The club are in great financial nick? is that what counts? I don't want us like the zombie/sevco5088 but come on, the money generated through the sale of vic ect should have been ploughed in straight away. We knew these players were leaving at xmas.
j88

Agree0 Disagree0

J88 your getting there name calling STILL childish, money should have been ploughed in straight away? If a player doe's not want to come, what do you do, pay over the odd's for him, John Park has akready stated he do'es not think Fibogson worth price they are asking, I trust Park's summation
Tambhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Tambhoy
No namecalling.
The most annoying part of this, is the odd million here for this guy and 2 for this guy, the amount of dross we have purchased over the last few seasons has been woeful, now and then we will get a gem or 2 but not getting players in when our spin had been sold is criminal.
j88

Agree0 Disagree0

J88 As I have said in previous post's mate, if they don't want to come, what do you do?
Tambhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Good Morning Tambhoy.

Is the club offering enough?or trying to get players too cheap? by not offering what the club are looking for and maybe not matching wages ect?
Anyhow hopefully we click today, an early goal would be nice.

If it all goes tits up again next week and we drop into the Europa League, will we be in a higher pot for the group stage draw?

Also heard that if the worst does happen then we will switch to a cheaper alternative for a striker, ie Billy Mckay.

Believable4 Unbelievable13

As i've stated here before, we should never have been in this position, as we should have strengthened the squad many weeks ago! DM, PL needs to explain why the funds weren't made available for new players?! personally I'll be gutted if we end up in the two bob Europa Cup.
Goggs

Agree0 Disagree0

Billy McKay might be a cheaper alternative to the likes of Pukki and Finbogasson but I keep hearing people spouting about failing to capture Johnny Russell. When you compare the scoring records between McKay (29 goals in 63 games at ICT) and Russell (31 goals in 102 games at Dundee Utd) then McKay wins hands down.

Agree0 Disagree0

Who cares, they will have to give the tickets away to get any interest

I heard Dermot Desmond tight arse has ordered Peter to hold fire on signings until we see if we make group stages, if we do he will give Pete the go ahead to push the button on a few good signings if we don't he won't be giving him anything. Don't blame Peter cause Desmond is pulling the strings and Pete is his Puppet . {Ed007's Note - This is what happens when monkeys have typewriters, it will be Shakespeare next.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Think its so sad when people slag off the europa league
We have won one european trophy in our history I would love to win another.

Cha67

Agree0 Disagree0

Toffeebhoy88, if only life was that simple, I've looked at McKAY, A FAILURE IN ENGERLANDS LOWER LEAGUES.Yes scored more goals BUT Russell is a better all round player, I wish I hadnt started this because NONE OF THEM ARE GOOD ENOUGH FOR THE HOOPS.al geri. but f we don't want to act like big bhoys, then any WEE scottish team would take anyone of them.

Agree0 Disagree0

AS MUCH CHANCE OF US WINNING THE EUROPA LEAGUE AS THE GOVAN DREAMTEAM WINNING THIS YEARS LEAGUE CUP, get real lad.al geri.

Agree0 Disagree0

Two bob cup? take it you did'nt go to Seville then Goggs.
Tambhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Al geri why the feck do you support Celtic, you do nothing but spout $hite about them, if you don't like the way thing's are done at Parkhead why not just stay in the house
Tambhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

How can you blame Peter Lawell and Dermot Desmond for not signing players. The ones that we have been after DO NOT WANT TO PLAY IN SCOTLAND. is that so hard to understand, or do you think that because we have money we should spend over the odds on a not so good striker?

hi ed

overheard a conversation today while on way to work,

guy claims he is the best mate of malky mackay, never heard the name but he reckons tht someone is signing for the hoops a he heard it from malky himself, any ideas who this could be? I reckon it defos won't b bellamy due to wages but unsure who else it could be?

joecfc88

Believable7 Unbelievable13

Can't see it but if it is true - Frazier Campbell or Peter whittingham

Agree0 Disagree0

I'll take it with a pinch of salt, but just for fun my guess would be Joe Mason, great prospect, done well to break into the team, keep his place and score a few in a decent league, can't see Cardiff letting him go though?

seeing on a few sites M'boro have had a 1.5 m bid for Bangura accepted? Is this possible when Elfsborg paid to have him on loan? I can't see him being accepted back into the Celtic fold, so if we can get some cash on him leaving I am all for it. Good bye to a train wreck of a player.

ShottsBhoy

Believable6 Unbelievable8

Yeah never really worked out for him oh well peter Lawell will be happy that's more money to be put into the bank since we're saving up I think Lawell should sack Lennon and employ arsene wenger, the only manager I know that hates spending money. That's rite up lawells street. Need a striker badly guys.

Agree0 Disagree0

He played well against us and it wasn't his fault. he kind of had to play if they said so. I would give him a chance.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bangura's running and link-up play in those two ties are precisely what we were lacking in the subsequent two.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with poster no2 I said on this site many months ago that maybe players should have been given a bit more game time to determine if they would do a job or not. Although I don't agree with his antics at parkhead. Hope we get players in trust in the scouting team guys?

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Aug 2013 18:53:03
ED007 am I right in thinking Elfsborg CANNOT sell Bangura as he is only on loan to them. Celtic would have to be involved in this transfer. Timalloy {Ed007's Note - Celtic would need to be involved Tim but it all depends on what is in the loan contracts. Obviously Elfsborg would be entitled to be recompensed if he was recalled from loan and sold by us.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Seemed to score wherever he has went but Celtic. Again I’m agreeing with the previous posts that he was unfortunate over the issues with his loan contract and a return could be difficult with some sections against him. Think most would agree we paid a decent amount (in PL terms) for the guy, he didn’t light anyone on fire when he did play and I know he has been out injured for a big chunk of his time here. It says it all that Celtic loaned him out at the age of 24 when he should of been pushing for the first team through his recuperation- he just didn’t do enough. Hooper was on his way out, it was a matter of time and we still felt he was low enough down the pecking order to let go. It is also the sham of tue that is making some us look back starry eyed at his bustling and link up play of the previous round. He was sent out imo for transfer interest to build up and if this rumour is true loosing .7mil on the player is a hit that the board will take.
I just don’t think he’s a good enough footballer, the amount of times I’ve seen the guy fluff it is second only to the amount of times I’ve seen foster kick it out for a shy!

rglen8

Agree0 Disagree0

Rglen8, well what does that say about our defenders? He caused us problems all night, wilson could only foul him to stop him getting past and when he did get past, looked a threat, I don't think he's the finisher we were all expecting, with what I've seen of him he looks more like a sammy. And we put up with his dross when he can't be bothered playing and this guy has become a god for some reason just because of a couple of goals albeit in important games in europe but that's where is stops we seem to forget the 3-4 years of sammy when he couldn't find the net.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Aug 2013 09:46:36
In light of the recent European result and the identified lack of a strike force, I wonder what will now be the cost of not putting-up the £1 Million for Johnny Russell?

Believable11 Unbelievable12

It wouldn't even have been as much as s million it was 750000 which makes it worse? Why just not play stokes best goal getter we have just now?

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Aug 2013 13:13:57
Good call mate, get him in.

Agree0 Disagree0

When are people going to realise, we didn't bid for him. Therefore we didn't lose out because of cost, regardless how much he went for.

Agree0 Disagree0

Said at the time we should have put the money on him as we would and will regret it! Hail Hail

Agree0 Disagree0

Nameless poster, people know a bid wasn't put in, what people are trying to ask is WHY didn't we bid for him, we should have as I feel he could of been a better player than stokes with us, we have missed out big time on a good young scottish talent that would of fired the goals in for us in the SPL and don't bother sayin 'what about europe' he's already scored in europa league for Utd so there is your european experience.

S

Agree0 Disagree0

He would have cost celtic a lot more than what derby payed due to us being in the same league. And as a guy said we never bid for him so never lost out!
Hew1888

Agree0 Disagree0

How can 'S' call someone a nameless poster? Is that his name? JB. that's my name.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jb what a fool, get over your wee Russell thing, we didn't want him. he's not a miss like Fletcher and mccarthy, he ain't that good, ., .kbarry

Agree0 Disagree0

As far as I'm aware we made no official bid for him but was told the asking price was considerably more than Derby paid. I keep seeing people banging on about biscuit tins etc but let's be honest the same people would be shouting from the rooftops if these players turned out to be another David Fernandez or Daryl Murphy. Unlike teams down south we do not have the money to buy big then if it doesn't work out buy big again to fix it so I for one am quite content waiting for the right player at the right price who will help us progress.

Agree0 Disagree0

We bid £500k in the jan window and was dismissed.
What changed in the following 6 months then? Obviously it was felt he would be a positive addition so u can only assume the thought if going to £750k was too much!
Biscuit tin as always.
We go out next wk and I can write u now word for word what the Peter L pr dept will roll out.
Accept it, been doing it for over 25 yrs now, we as a club are afraid to take the leap and push on.
We've aboard content on winning lge then hoping we punch above weight in CL. That's the then, now b future.
I still expect us to get thru because that side r so bad but don't know if its a good thing. Dread to think of the group stages
Stevo Dundee

Agree0 Disagree0

Decision not to bid was NL's not PL's. f Lenny wanted him we'd have signed him, if there's a gripe overtransfers it needs to be on others we actually have pursued. Paul
