I saw an online poll which said most Celtic fans would like to see Ryan Gauld of Dundee United at Celtic Park.
One idea I liked was as he is only 17 and has great potential, sign him in January, but LOAN him back to Dundee United to continue his progress and then come next season we have a player with SPFL experience. Timalloy

I agree, I saw the article yesterday and we could save if we buy him and loan him back. The boy has a lot of potential

I agree Timalloy, he looks a great wee player already at only 17, and with Dundee utd maybe having to pay £195,000 compensation to Velez for the training of Damian Casalinouvo, they might be in need of the money also would like to point out another 2 players from Dundee utd with potential in Stuart Armstrong & John Souttar.GBhoy

Think we should get the boy. Looks a very good prospect. Think we should keep the Scottish talent in Scotland, sad to see them go to the epl. Fletcher, russell, goodwillie, mccarthy ring any bells.

I totally agree. We should sign Souttar too. As part of the deal we should loan a whole lot of youngesters to them to reduce the fee. Game time for lots of up and coming Celts that way, we shouldn't then have to look abroad as much. Would love it if we had a 'Colts' or 'B' team.

i think Gauld can be special.love to see him play at the point of the diamond that the manager sometimes uses.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sending him back on loan is a great idea. We have a certain inability to progress youth to the next level and at 17 he's not ready for the side. A run out in some of our high profile friendlies and maybe a European qualifier or two would start him the experience he needs. Gary Caldwell has SPL experience and I wouldn't sign him. A talented boy no doubt. But would maybe fade to nothing at parkhead. Mcgeady etc came through and he had wee flaws like unable to do anything in the final third but we thought that would change with experience and age. He left the club the same way. Maloney well Maloney still looks and plays like he did when he was 18. Both parkhead stints. And he broke paddy McCourt for that he will never be forgiven. Let the boy grow because our way rarely works.

alright all. long time reader blah etc.
anyway I have lived in iceland for the last 3 years, (im sure 007 will confirm my isp) and by all accounts from the local boys, the new icelandic signing is quite a good swoop. he's highly rated over here and fully expected to make the national first team asap. I know a lot of players her in or about the top leagues and the attitude is first class. these guys are desperate to play first team football and would rip your arm off for our training facilities etc
