i was speaking to a bookie today and he told me that he heard from a good source that Bothroyd was coming to paradise. I honestly hope this is not true. he had his chance to come and chose QPR.

Believable3 Unbelievable24

Tell the bookie to put his money on it because he's talking pi$h

Agree1 Disagree0

You sure he wasn't trying to get you to put a bet on it?

If a bookie told you Frankie it's not going to happen. Stevie

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd rather have Sebo than Bothroyd. that's how much I don't want him to sign. Had his chance a couple of years ago but decided to go where the money was. Now in a bit of a sticky situation because he's without a club and we're doing just fine.

Is Betty still alive? that's for the more politically minded.harold wilson.

, if he comes and does a good job ad support him Kenny88

I think the fact that we have spent around £4m on 2 international standard players and have got it done quickly without dragging our heels (the traditional Celtic way) shows that the board are serious about supporting Lenny and getting us back into the CL. Also, I think this shows that Lenny just wasn't that fussed about Johnny Russell or else we would have tried a bit harder to get him. Keep up the good work Celtic!
Kevbhoy

Believable20 Unbelievable4

Too right mate, wasn't too fussed about Russell either and not sure about Balde but I'm excited about van Dijk. Guy looks like a quality cb, Groningen have nurtured some gems in the past, namely Robben. let's hope he delivers!

Agree3 Disagree0

Spot on mate, as you said 2 international standard players and we didn't even make a move for Russell who hasn't played in a poor poor scotland side says it all

Agree0 Disagree0

Tbh I would have liked to see Russell in the hoops but the gaffer knows what the team needs more than we do. Keep the faith in Lenny and his staff and we can't go wrong. Hail Hail

Wanyama has spoken to the press, and has told the journalists that Celtic have agreed a fee of around £10,000,000 and add on's with Southampton Fc. Wanyama all he needs to do is agree personal details on his behalf. This will be a fantastic signing for Southampton and Celtic are getting a fair amount of money from this transfer.

Believable14 Unbelievable16

I will stick my neck out and say Wanyama rates himself better than Southampton. I've no inside info or what have you, and i'm not saying that the price is not what Celtic would accept but I don't see Wanyama going to a team of Southamptons level. mark

Agree2 Disagree0

Iam a bit dissapointed that we didn't hold out for a while the guy is going to make it where ever he goes absolute gem of a player who I look forward to readin abouy winng countless trophys and league titles jus a shame it wernt wit the bhoys I jus wish him al the best for the furture
afgandan

Agree1 Disagree0

I've seen the article, which claims he's close to moving and in the same article he says he's had no contact from Southampton. Apparently the quotes are completely made up. I'll believe he's moving when I see it!

Agree1 Disagree0

There is only 2 people who will definetely know what's happening here.lawwell and lennon. southampton stories are filled with rubbish mate just to get fans excited so he won't be going to a relegation battle next season. there is no quotes what so ever so this post is false. I donk think he would swap our calibre of club and ambition to southamptons level of bottom 6 premier league, no offense. arsenal or Manchester United would be more realistic

Agree2 Disagree1

I hope its nt ture either though I do tink he will leave dis summer and if he does I would hope its for a bit more than 10min even wit add ons I honestly think he would fit in to any top team in europe 10mil I think is a joke and iam sure a lot of bhoys feel the same I read an earlier post bout him going to southampton and getting first team footie and provin himself against the self proclaimed best teams in europe which is true bt he's gota b worth more dan 10mil?

Agree1 Disagree0

Level of a bottom 6 club? Some of you Bhoys make me laugh. We are aiming for top 8, our squad is so much better than yours even without Wanyama. Yes you are a huge club and much bigger than us but we are in the most watched league in the world and the tv money we get means we have more revenue than you and can sign better players. Wanyama can get a decent contract and join the wonderful rise our has been having the past few seasons. We play nice football and he will be garrenteed first team football. Would you rather see him sit on the bench for Man U as they win another title which is expected of them or see him help us get into Europe which will be a great achievement then push on from there. Then when he has matured more he can get his big money move to a big club in Europe. Good times ahead for our club, you watch

"fantastic" signing for southampton? Aye so would messi but he'll no go to them either. No offence to the saints hope they have good season but after being at a top 10 club in the world the big man will set his sights higher IF we decide to sell

Agree0 Disagree0

Why are you getting on Southamptons back? They were far from a relegation battle really beating Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and many more last season. They are club that can hold their own.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hey Celtic fans, Saints fan in peace! Wanyama looks a cracking player and whether he comes to us or not it looks like he's going to leave which is such a shame as Celtic is such a fantastic club. If Man U, Liverpool or Arsenal really push for him then unfortunately I don't think we'll stand a chance of signing him. However, we are a club on the rise and I truly believe we will be finishing top half next season, maybe even knocking on the door of those Europa league spots. One thing that Saints can offer is guaranteed 1st team football which would be so much better for his development, then in a couple of years, he'll get his big move to one of the top four. Anyway, all best for next season guys! =O)

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah an we will see how much they hold there own next season, all those results u spoke about came a tale end of the season when they needed the points. they looked mince all season long atkins didn't have a clue. wee pochi has done a good job, but I wouldn't say you were better than the hoops. do yous not want 1 or 2 of our players to replace the dross you have at southampton just now? Big vic would shore up your midfield guys like david silva WON'T want to try pass him. But I have to question vics ambition, southampton son? C'mon u could do better even if u were an average player, but your not your a talent and your ready to drop champions league for a mid table battle/poss relegation battle. You say 'you watch' I say I will and I will put money on it that I will be back next season to say 'what happened to you southampton, chapionship football is where your at'

Agree0 Disagree0

Wanyama's tp good to go to a club like southampton whos only real ambition is to take skys dollar and provide opositipn for the big teams thier only there to make up the numbers harsh but facts are facts I have no real love for the so called best league in the world were average teams pay average players over inflated wages and the english media hype it up to be something its not its a well polished turd of a league and not remotely on a par with the german, spanish or italian leagues big vic would hold down a starting slot at any team in england maybe even europe and I wish him all the best if and when he leaved I just hope it to a club his tallent deserves
thommyj

Agree0 Disagree0

Reported nowhere but here. just a rumour with no substance. he knocked back Aston Villa to come to Celtic. why would he take a step down. if he goes this season it's to a top for club, probably Arsenal

Agree0 Disagree0

Far better team? don't make me laugh mate, the only player I would take is gaston ramirez otherwise none of your players would get a look in. albeit I adore king artur he, s moving on at 33 and we have the best keeper in britain. jos hooiveld couldn't make the bench for us and he, s first team with youse so that sums it up. our midfield is incredibly better also and on his day I would have hooper over lambert or rodriguez any day. aiming for top 8? put a 1 b4 it and i, ll agree

Agree0 Disagree0

Wait an see then guys, you will eat your words an hopefully it will make you realise your football knowledge is not all that (ppl thinking we will finish 18th). Hooiveld and Fox were our worst players last season both lost us games and points. Hooiveld is now our 5th choice defender. You wouldn't have Shaw in your team? have you even heard of him? probably not you probably no little of our team. Ramirez was disappointing last season. Clyne, Cork morgan schneiderlin, Lallana, Puncheon, Rodriguez, Lambert only 3 of your players would push/dislodge these players for a starting place. Hooper, Wanyama and Forster. I don't have anything against Celtic and have always thought it would be interesting what they could do if let into the english league especially since we have 2 welsh teams in the prem now! doesn't really seem fair that they are allowed yet you and rangers weren't. With premiership money behind you guys could be a real European force. anyway I hope we get Wanyama it would be real coup probably bigger than ramirez! peace out

If we get rid of Wanyama, the perfect replacement is junior malanda at zulte waregem. 18 year old tank of a boy. Almost sealed a 5 mill move to Fulham in January but never completed. Was the same story when we signed Wanyama. Think we could get him for 2-3 mill.

Believable9 Unbelievable6

Malanda is a superb player. Would be a perfect replacement for Victor.

Agree0 Disagree0

Looks a decent fit. So does the lad Kara from Genk who has been mentioned on these pages. In a fair world we'd be getting much more than £10m for Wanyama, but with his contract ticking away I guess it's still good business for the £900k we paid. I'd like Jordy Clasie too but can't see us spending that much on one player (probably cost £6m+).

Agree0 Disagree0

Kouyate from Anderlect would be a good replacement.

Ed what's the situation with Wanyama, are Southampton really the front runners? Obviously it would have been nice to say that (if he is to leave) a top club bought one of our players but I actually think this would be a good move for him and us. Going to a smaller team would mean he will start every week and get the chance to show what he can do. If he impresses then a bigger club will come calling and we'll see a nice bit of money due to a sell on clause that we must insert! If he does leave, good luck to him!

LM67 {Ed007's Note - Southampton and Newcastle seem to be furthest down the line, I think this one could run on.}

Believable5 Unbelievable4

Ed are we really accepting 10 m for him surely this is a joke?

SOS BHOY {Ed007's Note - No mate. Don't believe numbers in the papers.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't its every one on here arguing with me over it saying I'm ridiculous I know u rate him as much as me

SOS BHOY {Ed007's Note - They don't realise all they are doing is arguing over newspaper stories. I'd just leave them to it.}

Celtic have now already sold more season tickets than last year.

Official Celtic website,

Mentioned in news story on site about signing of Virgil Van Dijk.

Believable9 Unbelievable2

I would have expected more to be sold after a decrease in prices and after last season more people see the benefit of having a season ticket to secure champions league tickets. Unfortunately, many season ticket holders are only interested in guaranteeing champions league tickets and don't always turn up for SPL games.

Agree0 Disagree0

Seen that mate hopefully wee sell 50 odd k hail hail another season of plenty of trophyware 126 years of unbroken history paying taxes and doing it by the book Glasgow celtic solidarity joe bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Great news.

Yeah they are £100 cheaper. but for people who didn't have a season ticket last year its £300-400 they are laying out in harsh financial time so its a great commitment to the club.

I personally don't care if the crowds are the same as last year in the SPL. More season ticket sales means more profits for the club and keeps us financially sound. I'll be happy with the SPL title, 1 of the 2 cups and a few more glorious Champions League nights. A domestic treble and qualification for the group stages of the CL would be a magnificent achievement.

Hearing there is strong interest in Marc Janko again.
Not sure of his match fitness or condition, but when we were looking at him a few years back he looked outstanding.
Anyone heard this rumour at all?

That Dutch boy has just signed a 4 year deal, also here he's on 18k a week! Should be worth every penny looks the real deal.

Believable7 Unbelievable6

Welcome aboard great the way we are going about our business done early, left winger and another striker please

Agree1 Disagree0

Welcome my son, Welcome to the machine!
As for a left winger, I believe Samaras is one of the best left wingers avilable to us, probably take the 9 shirt from him and give hime No11 shirt and hey we have our winger, ., .kbarry

Agree1 Disagree0

Sami is a left winger. NL mostly plays him out of position. Sopotcelt.

Agree1 Disagree0

Yeah as I say give him 11 and give a striker(goalscorer)the 9, ., .kbarry
