Someone mentioned his name the other day but anyone think maybe 12m plus billy sharp for wanyama would be no a bad deal? dunno his situation with notts forrest wether he's signing after the loan spell last season but a would take the guy then if hooper wants 2 leave then let him leave we will have a decent replacement ther can't see us going for alf or rhodes even though every 1 always mentions ther names. Just a thought

Le Fondre will always score goals at any level! Up to Lennon?

Agree0 Disagree0

The money Southampton are offering is ok it's just the thought of selling our most valuable player to a club like Southampton. I would be embarrassed if he moved to them. He can do better.

Agree0 Disagree1

21 Jun 2013 10:35:29
Wont get Sharp and 12m as club are selling him on cheap, agreed 10m deal with no players coming in. We have been lied to by board to by season tickets. It hurts me to say it but he has went to a bigger club. Who would have thought Southampton would end up bigger and more powerful than us. Its a sad day in our history

Agree0 Disagree1

21 Jun 2013 09:52:48
As a southampton fan I didn't know sharp was part of the deal he's not going to forest so maybe he is I do hope he gose to a good club like celtic

Agree0 Disagree0

How did the board lie about season tickets

Agree0 Disagree0

Do we really need him, personally I'd take a chance on only watt stepping up to the front, why not? He's done alright every time he's played for us, give him the chance, strengthen other areas, left back, another centre half, centre mid

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't believe I've just read someone on here claiming to be a Celtic fan saying Southampton are a bigger club than Celtic. That is pathetic!

They play in a bigger league thus can attract bigger players and due to there new billionaire owner and the massive handouts from sly tv deal they can pay more for players.

Bigger club ha go and take a flying f@ck to yourself you imbecile.

Celtic are a far bigger club on the merits of having a ten times bigger fanbase, massive trophy haul in its history including the European cup, bigger stadium, more season ticket holders and we play in the Champions league! Something Southampton will never do!

Not one of those facts can be argued!

Agree0 Disagree1

Aa What about the sadcase daywalker @3 trying to sneak in that wee "Southampton are bigger than Celtic" Bullsh*t? LOL

Mate you shouldn't be allowed to use that keyboard unsupervised you know that.

Southampton play in a bigger league. THAT IS ALL. Its the only reason they can spend more and attract better players than Celtic. Doesn't by any stretch of the imagination make them a bigger club. Fanbase, History aren't even worth comparing. Not on the same level at all.

Celtic play Champions League football, Southampton never will.

Using your logic Norwich, Crystal Palace and West Brom are bigger and last year Wigan was aswell lol

They all have bigger wage budgets and have more to spend on players.

Agree0 Disagree0

No deal has been agreed so stop with your crap. we will not sell him for ten. its too cheap and we really don't need to sell him. he said he would be happy to stay and he is still under contract for two years. also Southampton are not a bigger club than Celtic. That is a ridiculous statement.

Agree0 Disagree0

Southamptons a great football Club that's youth system has brought through some of the Best British Footballers in the EPL today they're signing Policy is much like Celtics but looks like they have much more Clout & Muscle than yous Bhoys great move for the Club & Player if it happens they're building for the Future.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jun 2013 14:20:39
Southampton do indeed have a great youth system, ours is not so great unfortunately. I wonder if some parents feel Celtic is not the best place for there children to get looked after or something. Why could this be?

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jun 2013 13:55:14
How did the board lie - well let's start with Wanyama will not be sold (best player) - is being sold - so that's a lie. We value him at £25m, obviously not. That's another lie. We will invest in squad, we have money to spend. We will finish transfer window having sold more in £s that we have bought. We have been lead up a garden path again - year in year out it happens, and we sit like persons and take it. Vote with our feet - is only way to the board goes. Take Lenny the embarrassment with them too. Would rather Levein and that says something

I am just being honest, Southampton have better players, have better training facilities, more people watch there games worldwide than ours (so yes there a bigger club) on that basis. Yes we have won lots of trophies - hardly hard in Scotland. Our best player will leave for 10m, am I happy about it - no, but did I expect him to go to a bigger club - yes - and that's what he will do. Whilst we get the mick taking by board and Neil 'I won't take less than 25m' Lenny - he is a puppet, Celtic minded he's money minded - having us fans on.

SACK TE BOARD AND LENNY, GET CRAIG LEVEIN IN TO MANAGE TEAM AND I WOULD LIKE KING KENNY TO BE CHAIRMAN

Agree0 Disagree0

Some of these posts are laughable haha

The Southampton bigger than Celtic diarrhoea has been put right by my fellow Celts but having a dig at Celtics youth system lol

Tell me, did Southampton get invited into the nexgen tournament?

Have Southampton won there dometic double at u20 level for the last few years?

And then the pr*ck sneaking the wee comment past ed about parents not feeling Celtic is the best place for there children to get looked after.

Someone's having a bubble on here, you got a hangover today ed or what lol

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm a saints fan and can safely say are club isn't bigger than yours!
I will say this, we have without doubt the best youth set up in Britain!
We are building for the future and I honestly believe we will be playing champions league football with in five years.
I also believe that wanyama will not come to us. I think it's more a case of agents trying to pressure the big four to move in for him.
Less of the slating lads.
Yes you have more fans.
But be honest if saints were in the SPL we'd be winning/competing with you for trophies and qualifying for Europe.
You said it yourselves we're in a better league!

Agree0 Disagree0

My club is bigger than yours boo ho hoo. Bla bla bla
Dont care about any other club than celtic.
Wether it be Southampton or real mad4id I don't care.
All I care abiut is that big vic does not go for anything less than 15mill
hew1888

Agree0 Disagree0

So far we have bought 2 players costing about 5 million sold none.when lennon said 25 million for wanyama it was tongue in cheek though we could still get it very unlikely but its still early days
Gordybhoy44

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry but we ( Celtic ) do not have a great youth system. How many players came through our academy recently and have made a decent amount of first team appearances? Forrest, McGeouch, Mulgrew and McGeady, who we sold for good money. We don't give youth players much of a chance to play first team football. Without any competition for the title, this is the chance to play youth players more and actually develop then, or at least loan them out.

As for the Southampton fan saying they'll be playing champions league football in 5 years, you're having a laugh.

Agree0 Disagree0

If Southampton were in the spl they wouldn't b winning or competing m8 as you'd would have no money your fans wouldn't b half as large as they are and no global fans but on the other hand the tic being in the epl with all that money the fan base the global market .the champions hail hail

Looks like the Dutch player will sign tomorrow, 2 quality players in, so far and I like the way Neil is getting players signed before anyone allowed to leave.
It also looks like big Vic could be leaving, if we get around £10m a good piece of business if we also include sell on clause.
Saw Ledley advertising new strip, hope we get him signed on another contract as to replace him would cost £4m plus wages on top. Timalloy

Believable5 Unbelievable5

Nl stated 24 mill for wanyama in an interview, I hope he sticks to this .if these clubs really want him why sell him on the cheap because of the oft quoted phrase, he only plays in the spl, we are forever told the epl is the best in the world so if clubs want vic they must believe he is a player who can play in this worlds best league so make them pay accordingly,,,, deep river bhoy

Agree1 Disagree0

You have signed 2 players but I don't know how you can say they are quality when hardly anyone has heard of them. what you are hoping they are is quality and not another bangura or lassad. all I am saying is just be wary because if they were quality why are they coming to scotland.

as I say they might turn out to be like wanyama but on other hand bangura.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said d r b . derbycelt

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm sorry but people have heard of the two players we have signed. more Virgil van dijk than Amido Balde. non the less they are both promising players. I believe we had to fight off interest from everton and newcastle to sign van dijk. assuming that he does actually sign for us as its not official yet.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think it can be said that Van Dijk is an improvement to the squad. frank de boer said he's quality so 112 dutch caps opinion is good enough for me. fingers crossed for the big lad up front. will Waynyama go to a southampton et al? If he does it will be for 1 season then onto a big 4 club. I think Celtic would be daft to let him go for 10million with 2 years still to run on his contract.

Agree0 Disagree0

By that rationale Wanyama is not quality because he came to Scotland. Why did Sutton come to Scotland? Lassad is quite a technically gifted player and intelligent on the park but didn't get a run in the team. Big Sammy took time to settle and he is arguably our best player. Petrov; terrible first season turned out quality. These guys have come to Celtic because they recognise how big a club we are. yes they are not world class but we can't pay 50million plus on 250,000 a week

What is Celtic playing at just spoke to the guy at ticket master and it's still only season book holders for the brentford tickets, I agree with the season book holders getting first chance but come on its been a week now most Celtic fans down south have bought the brentford allocation, I'm a member of Celtic with my two bhoys and live down south and could only get up with them 7 games last year as I done the c l games home and away except for the Moscow game, the lad at ticket master said they have stalled in ther tracks with sales of these tickets to Celtic fans, it's a shambles members should be in the time frame for tickets ok we are the best fans and biggest fan base I would say in the world but ther has to be structure, Norwich game went off without a hitch so why change the way they were sold it don't make sense

Believable4 Unbelievable3

I got my ticket for Brentford from them; why don't you call them & do the same? Hail Hail.

Dr Bhoogie

Agree0 Disagree0

Dr boogie please enlighten me were and how You got a ticket, so let's get it right you are not a season ticket holder and you rang Celtic ticket office and got one, either way you obviously can't read or you are talking sh"t, and if it's that case your on the wrong rumour site your site is the brain dead mugs across the city of Glasgow

Agree0 Disagree0

I think you man Dr Bhoogie was trying to be helpful, The way I read it he called Brentford FC and got a ticket that way. In anycase I really don't see the need to shoot him down like that, getting a bit sick of so called fans insulting fellow Celts by intimating that they are Zombies. Especially without good reason. He left his name (which you didn't) & gave you a Hail Hail. Basically, chill out bud or Feck off.

To Gary hooper, take a look at jay boothroyd mate, bottom of the table epl club/ promoted championship team wanting him, no England call up no club hero not won anything, your career is short make the right decision

Believable14 Unbelievable5

Hooper is much better than Bothroyd though in fairness. I genuinely think unless an attractive club bids for him he'll still be here next season.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jun 2013 16:41:36
Hail hail, I have heard from a very reliable source two 12 million bids have been excepted for big vic. One is a prem team and one is a champions league team.
Hope we have a sell on clause inserted in any deals.
Hail hail

Believable4 Unbelievable13

If we sell for 12m I'm embarrassed! Just because we are in the spl doesn't mean it changes the value of a player but doubt we would ( accept) the first offers for the hottest property in Britain

SOS BHOY

Agree1 Disagree1

If he's definitely leaving and we can get a fee like that then I say take it in a heartbeat. I still don't think we'll get that kind of money in a straight sale though. It's got to include performance bonuses etc. which would make the actual fee much less. I could be wrong.

Hail Hail
ChrisBhoy

Agree1 Disagree0

I'm not so sure he'll go, certainly if he keeps improving his value will only go up.

Agree1 Disagree0

Would it be cash up front or paid over the length of his contract.
English teams all get cash up front from Sky every year.

Agree0 Disagree0

I have to disagree with you Chris mate, i'm positive we will be scraping every last penny we can get for big Vic and Lawwell has always been clever when it comes to sell ons and that side of our deals. There's no way we are going to let him go for say 6-7 million with the rest after appearances or achievements, no way. I think Celtic will be saying 10 million cash up front and then talk performance bonuses and money after appearances for the other 2-4 million the fee amounts to.

I just get the feeling on this one Celtic are determined and truly value the player the same way we do.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont think he would go to southampton over celtic he will go to one of the top 6 clubs down there.jnm

Agree0 Disagree0

@SOSBHOY The fact Vic plays in Scotland DOES change his value. The sad fact is that EPL clubs can afford to knock back offers that our financial restraints would force us to consider/accept. It's a farce and its totally unfair but it's the harsh reality of our situation.
Kevbhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

SOS Bhoy I think a case of hyperbole here. 12m would be a record for selling a player from here and as for the hottest property, not quite there is a long list. We will just get the best deal our Board can get and that will have nothing to do with our recommendations.

Agree0 Disagree0

Junior malanda at zulte waregem would be a great replacement.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think the club can base their value of the player on his champion league performances. So what value do you add then? A champions league playing international captain midfield powerhouse. what's the going rate for that type of player? English clubs think they can lowball scottish teams because of the state of the scottish game but Celtic do not fall into the same financial category as the aberdeens, motherwells or sevcos of this world. we have money. Wanyama's value to the team is greater than 10 million. I would rather keep him for another year. you would still get 10 million next season.

Agree0 Disagree1

Wanayama could do a lot worse than southampton. They in the epl, they won't get relegated and the whole world would be watching him every week, remember the bhoys only 21. Hoops should go there aswel. The quicker they leave the happier ill be. Lenny signings so far have shown ambition and if these guys have a good season in the cl then we will be right back were we are now. So who cares were they go as long as Celtic get top dollar and lenny stays in charge ww will have many more exciting transfare Windows

Darrenbhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Wanyama is by far a better player than mcgeady and how much did we sell him for? Do you really think we've accepted the first bid for our star player? Before the transfer window has even opened in England think some of our fans are gullible and naive to what our club will do he will be the best dm in the world in a couple of years and I highly doubt Southampton will be his destination unless they stump up 15m plus add ons what is with most of your inferiority complexes? A player is worth what a club is willing to pay / sell 12m we won't get any more?Moses moved to Chelsea for 10 m in the last year of his contract from Wigan do you really think Lennon will be made a fool of by the board?

Khalid Boulahrouz will be allowed to leave Sporting Lisbon this summer and has apparently received offers from Holland, Scotland and Russia.

ML

Believable6 Unbelievable8

Although I would love it to be true, its just not going to happen. Teams like milan are in for him and we cannot compete anywhere near tht level in wages.

Agree0 Disagree0

I didn't watch the match which makes your statement invalid and tbh I'm just saying what I've seen and heard

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree RsK_Bhoy, a source said about an offer from Scotland so I assume it's Celtic. Though I think he's out of our price range, and doesn't fit the youth signing policy

Agree0 Disagree0

Khalid Boulahrouz? The same Khalid Boulahrouz who is 32 in december and only got 8 games for a very poor Sporting Lisbon last season? The same guy who was linked with us about 10 years ago?

I think you's are getting names mixed up or something, this guys careers been on a downward trajectory for years. Doesn't get picked in the Holland squads anymore and neither Chelsea or more recently Stuttgart renewed his contract and let him leave for free.

Were just about to sign one of Hollands most promising up and coming defenders and your getting excited about the prospect of signing Khalid (the cannible) Boulahrouz lol

The guys past it and would be after at least 25 grand a week. NOT FOR ME THANKS

Agree0 Disagree0

I heard the scottish team were partick thistle as they guareented him a glasgow derby

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think anyone has got excited. I'm simple reporting that it has been rumoured he received a bid from Scotland. This may just be agents trying to get him a new club, but accept that this is a rumour and move on.

Agree0 Disagree0

I actually ment to put my post on the suggestion about Honda, must have made a bit of a balls up. I don't think we need boulahrouz when the young boy signs. we have 2 good right backs, izzy and mulgrew at left back and then we have wilson, ambrose, van dijk and possibly a youngster like frazer for the centre half positions.

Very happy that for once we have gone out and got the signings required early in the window. Just a winger and then a replacement for hooper (if her leaves) and I will be happy.

We are going to nip in and rob Newcastle from signing FC Twente defender Douglas, free transfer.
John88

Believable8 Unbelievable13

Nonsense! Would he really come to SPL for 6 CL games, 25k a week and a winter full of trips around Scotland to cowshed stadia? Half the clubs in EPL will be after him! Daviebhoy77

Agree0 Disagree0

I can only dream of this rumours.! This guy is a beast of a center half.

Agree0 Disagree0

No chance. would be a great acquisition, but Prem league money will be the difference with him I fear. He wants to play for Brazil, so will think epl exposure will help him with that. jean-Pierre Laguerre.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's not that good, from what I've heard from a mate holland he can be a bit of a bomb scare. Not much pace either. Ambrose is better.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ambrose is better? Did u watch him last season and more recently in confederations cup, he's a pun o mince, any defender has got to be better than ambrose.

Celtic interested in signing free agent Keisuke Honda (Japan). Honda is recently out of contract with CSKA Moscow and curiosity is building on where he will spend his future.

Believable9 Unbelievable14

After last nights game, I suspect half of Europe will be interested in Honda. He was immense for Japan. JC

Lol I was dreaming of this earlier today don't think we've got the balls to even try tbh

SOS BHOY

Agree0 Disagree0

Would love him, but doubt it very much. He was probs on good wages at CSKA Moscow.

Agree0 Disagree0

Another rumour I can only dream of happening. This boy is outstanding but I feel his wage demands would be to much for the tight purse strings at celtic. Another plus of signing this guy is the income he would generate from shirt sales in Japan. Maybe Nakamura can have a word for us.

southampton have put a 10 million pound bid in for victor wanyama AMA

Believable11 Unbelievable10

Add another 4 million and good luck big vic.
john88

Agree0 Disagree0

The bidding starts at 10 million and I would hope we get 15-20 when he finally goes - and before I get SPL players are never worth that - his best performances were in the CL, where he would have been noticed by quite a few big clubs. Plus with the ludicrous prices being paid for lesser players, Celtic should dig their heels in (especially after NL priced him at £25m) and we are in a great position regarding his contract.

Jungle Jim

Jungle Jim

Agree0 Disagree0

Where are you getting 20 million from no matter how good he looks in the champions league you won't get that and it does come back to spl players clubs in england will be wary after paying big fees for spl players previously and by far most of them failed to deliver bar the odd exception. you will get 12 at most for wanyama and frankly I think celtic will take it simply because spl revenue is going down and although you may make the champions league group stages the celtic board will not take this as granted.

Agree0 Disagree0

Just because he plays in a 1 or was 2 team winner league means nothing.
Small nations like Belgium or monopoly leagues like Ukraine still sell on for big bucks because CL is where ure judged.
On that Victor has more than proven he's ready for th next step.
Do u honestly think all the major teams don't see the bigger pix and how good his guy is?
