Total crap!! Will never happen and to be honest i'd keep Griff over hoops any day.

Griff has really screwed the nut and worked really hard - gets my vote for sure.

Fair play to Griffiths I have been a doubter of his in Europe and I don't mind admitting that I'm eating some humble pie but it tastes good haha, but last night he proved me wrong that he can be trusted in the qualifiers at the very least and who knows with the right supply I'm sure he'd put them away against tougher sides as well. He didn't impress me last season against Inter Milan and Salzburg at home in Europe but it looks as if he's taken his game up a couple of notches since then and fair play to him for that deserves immense credit.

He could have sulked easily like a lot of players would when Guidetti and Cifcti were getting games ahead of him but he's remained focused to prove his doubters wrong and he's doing a great job so far. Does the business again away in Malmo and I think he'll have sealed his place up front for the season ahead of Cifcti, Scepovic and Stokes.

Scepovic and Stokes will be moved on imo, with Griffiths, Cifcti and another striker being brought in competing for the role up front. But if Cifcti doesn't cut out things like ramming himself into the back of an opposition player on purpose and also doesn't up his game considerably and get fitter and leaner then we should get rid of in January because so far I've been far from impressed.

I agree LG has knuckled down and looks like he could score goals against any one Iv been really impressed with him! The rumour will be BS! But if Norwich offer it I hope PL tells them to stick it her the sun don't shine! Hooper is ineffective as a loan striker!

Well said celticforever, he's always had the potential and it's really starting to show now that his off the field carry on appears to be over, or at least minimal. He'll score 100+ goals for Celtic if he keeps it up.

Don't understand all this sudden realisation by a lot of people that Griffiths is a good allround team player and a quality striker,he has always been,there were an awfull lot of 'unco guid' (as Rabbie would say) on these pages slagging Griffiths off when he signed for Celtic,for his previous of field behaviour,but he was young,he is growing up and maturing,RD can help him with that,but the people who didn't appreciate his footballing qualities before ,don't know their r's from their elbows.

Like I said a couple of weeks ago,I'll leave it to see if we get past this average Malmo team! We've got a slight advantage and hopefully we finish the job! But if we don't then the finger of blame should be pointed at one man and that's Lawell! Sells Matthews for 2million and pays a couple of hundred grand for a young boy who rd obviously doesn't think is anywhere near ready! Because if ambrose can get in at RB in front of him then sum things wrong! Wee bit of decent investment this summer and we would have cantered into the group stages! But no let's go and get one over sevco by signing Allan to add to the other dozen midfielders we've got! When we're cryin out for quality at the back and up front! I wonder how many fans will be stickin up for Lawell if we go out on Tuesday! For the 2nd year in a row against a mediocre team who Celtic dwarf in size!

Dh88 I agree. Our defence is a shambles, going to be worse when the inevitable transfer of VVD happens and we only have 1 player we can call a striker, Griffiths and I wouldn't say he is euro class. I honestly have no faith that we are going to progress to CL group stages now. Hope to God i'm wrong but can't see us scoring away and not conceeding a goal.

Lawwells time has been up for a long time. what's it going to take to get rid of him?

I'm not going to defend lawwell etc but if our manager was half decent and knew how to close out a game we would have been in the champions league last year by drawing 0-0 with Maribor at home and if he'd done the same at 3-1 after 70 minutes and brought on mulgrew instead of gms we would have been in a far better place.

The fact that a lot of people are forgetting is that Peter Lawwell is merely an employee with a job remit which is obviously to find players , sign them and sell them on for more , its Dermot Desmond who is calling the tune here , he sanctions who we can sign and for how much , Lawwell carries out his remit very well , the fans are not considered .

Drewzybhoy nobody is forgetting that remit. What is unacceptable is the sheer lack of quality we are replacing players sold on with. Buck stops with Lawwell on that front and his failure to see John Park is unable to not only identify a decent striker, but also slipping in his judgement of identifying a defender. Boyata shambles, Janko not ready, Ambrose absolute bombscare!

Drewzybhoy you seem to know a lot about remits, heres a question for you. Over past 5 seasons, how much has club actually made buying players in this period and selling them on for profit? Including all transfers in and out, divide the total by each season for average per season. You tell me if that figure is more than the amount CL group stages would generate in revenue each season and if you really think Lawwell is still doing a good job

Couldn,t agree more DN, we are constantly reminded of the lack of income available to us, yet approx 20m is there for the taking every year. It would appear we don,t want it badly enough. Just by being in the groups for a few consecutive years would perpetuate that existance. it would give the cash and the profile to get better players, but we have people running our club, who would rather leave it to chance, fate or whatever.

DN30 it would be nice to come on here one day without you banging on about PL and JP. Honestly it's wearing thin. It wasn't those 2 who gave away 2 goals last night. Let's wait and see if we qualify. Normally you're on about strikers but now it's defenders! Did they not sign vvd, Matthews or lustig? Wind your neck in and give us all peace.

You were probably one of the eejits wanting Larsson gone when he stopped scoring for a couple of games too. Glass half empty

I agree with henrik to a degree if i'm honest. Far to early to judge Boyata IMO, Izzy has been a good signing overall although he's not performed for the last year. The majority of celtic fans know ambrose isn't good enough but there's no denying there's a few on here that focus on negatives even when the overall is a positive.
