{Ed007's Note - Celtic XI v Barcelona: Forster; Lustig, Ambrose, Van Dijk, Izaguirre; Matthews, Brown, Mulgrew, Samaras; Commons; Stokes.
Subs: Zaluska, Biton, Balde, Rogic, Pukki, Kayal, Forrest.
No my god, I've just seen the celtic team and I think we are going to get a little lesson in football tonight. Izzy and Ambrose are just waiting to gift chances and this team will punish us.
Brown has let us down there. It is a sending off IMO.

Ed I have posted previously again tonight I am not a celtic fan I am going to honestly reflect on the game as I saw it. first of all scott brown as captain has let your side down okay it was not the worst kick out in the world but the fact is he did kick out and that was stupid of him to do that the ref was always going to send him off for it and the irony of it was it was a pretty good foul to give away as neymar was gone but there was no need to aim a kick. celtic again played well but it goes to show if you don't take the chances you get in europe you get punished and as happened in milan it happened again tonight barca pounced.
for me barca were poor and it shows that they badly missed messi. neymar is an average player he has the pace and some trickery but no end product and is not even half the player messi is.
again celtic have missed a real opportunity to grab a result tonight and it was not helped by the stupidity of scott brown.
one final point georgios samaras how many times did he have good posession and the chance to create something but instead just ran into trouble frustrating night watching him if your a celtic fan.
i hope you accept this as an honest reflection of the game and hope you would agree with me on the main points. {Ed007's Note - Any team would miss Messi but as usual when CFC put in a good performance it is the other team that are poor and not CFC that played well, you came out with the same p1sh after the Milan game.
To say Neymar is average is just ridiculous, you obviously don't watch that much football if you think that. Samaras ran with the ball when there wasn't a pass on, that's hardly his fault. I would rather see him trying to run with the ball than just give it away.
Scott Brown is just Scott Brown, every team needs a player like him. He is captain because our manager knows through experience what kind of man it takes to captain one of the biggest clubs in football. So all in all I have to say I don't agree with you, but those are your opinions and you are entitled to them, although you could at least have the common courtesy to leave a name in future. We are trying to cut down on the anonymous posts.}
Big Sammy was outstanding tonight and if Barca looked 'poor' (jings) it was Celtic that made them looked poor ;-)
I would love a poor midfield like Barca's, Iniesta and Xavi. Neymar just sums up modern football, you would not get Jinky rolling about that.
Hopefully Joe, Joe super Joe is back soon. Disappointed in Scott Brown tonight but not going to dwell on it
Passing and taking chances let us down again and that is all really. How many teams would take encouragement from this result. Brown was a bit stupid. It's not a red for me but you always give the ref half a reason with 'aggressive' behaviour like that. You might as well make sure he goes off on a stretcher though if you're going to get sent off. I'm certainly not jumping on his back. He's a great captain and anybody who plays football to any level knows how great it is to have a man like him on your side. To the 'barca were poor' guy, we made them poor. Keep our heads up and same again next time out.
If u are not a fan then why the hell are u on this site? Why would any one care for your opinion when u have no allegiance to our club? Makes absolutely no sense
Hendy,
Absolutely spot on. Sheer and utter stupidity sums up browns actions. A clever foul on neymar in the first place, taking a possible yellow for the team, to be followed up by a needless kick out. Lennon was probably right to publicly back him but I hope he left him in no doubt about his feelings on the matter.
Now we are without a driving force off a captain for the next two champions league games, which will make of break our campaign - great thinking broony!
Some great saves from Forster, apart from an easy corner he made a right hash off. Will have done himself no harm there.
Is it worth a poll to discuss who broony's replacement as captain should be in these games. Not Sammy for me, although I thought he played really well tonight. Wish he would look for a pass as opposed to running through impossible walls at times.
Mulgrew or Ledley for me as capitano.
