Great result on Sunday. And a good laugh at the game too. Loved the Four Riders banners and all the gravestones. Got me and my mate thinking though, how much would all that have cost as theere was quite a display and I take it was all arranged by one group?

Believable5 Unbelievable3

Dont answer to this ! i smell s**te

Banner of the year IMO.I heard it cost between £3-5 thousand.Lot of money but people will be talking about that banner for years to come.

Jungle Bhoy.

No need to smell sh@ite. Was genuinely impressed by the display as it was very effective but I'm always left wondering how much it is whenever I see the big banners at games. By the way I'm a Tim.

Can anyone explain how that bill millers bid works? A incubated hybrid company that would be a newco but still retains its name and history? It makes no sense to me? Surely if it's a newco or any form of rangers are liquidated then it's goodbye to there history?

Ed when is the draw for the first champions league qualifier mate? And have you any idea of some of the teams we might face! Am I correct in saying we'll be seeded for both qualifiers?

Ice man {Ed007's Note - The draw for the first CL qualifiers is June 25, the draw for when CFC enter (3rd qualifier) hasn't been announced yet. CFC will be seeded.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Why are cfc seeded? They have done nothing in Europe last 5 years. {Ed007's Note - There is a co-efficient that determines it, that is why there are two places up for grabs in the CL.}

Agree0 Disagree0

20th July for the draw and to put it mildly it's bloody complicated, google it and check out the wiki page. we won't really know who we may be playing till the winners of rnd 2 are decided as champions play champions and runners up play runners up.

Been reading Fat Boy tonight , what planet are him and Hateley on at times. All of a sudden he was very dissaponted with the ref saying too many players got away with things and should have been punished(Mculloch?).The three goals could have been prevented and the first goal was a disgrace , really?. And his final comments really are his tour de force , the fans applauded and sang Ally McCoists name and stayed to the end . He goes on about the loyalty of them but no mention of the non stop bile they were singing. He also tells McCoist to look at the career of Paul Lambert and take heart from it (what!).And here's a good one , praise for Sandy Jardine who is the only one who has helped Ally out. You have to read this column to believe it......DH

Believable3 Unbelievable3

Mate I posted about hateley a few weeks ago and his s**tey column. What about last week? The day after the threats had been made to the SFA panelists! That F*#NY is in the paper backing mccoist to the hilt and condoning what he said. Unbelievable. I'm telling u mate there are some clowns writing columns in our daily papers but HE is the worst of the lot. He takes the title hands down. Ignorant, unqualified, unprepared, biased bulls**t and his work shows he is lacking the necessary degree of intelligence to put even an adequate report of events forward.

Hi Ed who was the guy with the syrup fig at parkhead, was it a wind up or what? {Ed007's Note - It was that bad NL moved seat!! I sent a pic to the LFC supporting Eds and told them it was one of their scouts watching Hooper. Others say it was Craig Whyte.}

I think Forster could be holding out to see what happens with tim krul in the summer, rumours have him moving to Chelsea and some other clubs around Europe, perhaps Forster will go back to Newcastle to be number 1.

THE Thai Tims are in Paradise and have taken over tonight’s edition of the Huddle Online (Tuesday, May 1).

On tonight’s show on Celtic TV, the club’s official online channel, I talk to Paul and Pun Lennon, the husband and wife duo who are the driving forces behind the Thai Tims.

We hear about the work being done at the Good Child Foundation school, what the support of the Celtic fans means to them and look forward to this Thursday’s performance at Celtic Park.

Then to finish off the show, the children join us for a special performance of their hit number – ‘I Just Can’t Get Enough’.

Hi Edd, not a rumour, but have you any idea what kinda salary Mousa Dembele is on at Fulham? Do you think he could be a possible target for Celtic? Every time I see him he looks great and i've not seen too many clubs that are interested in him! I really think he is very underestimated. Hardly ever loses the ball and really good with both feet! {Ed007's Note - Fulham rejected a £10 million bid last year from Tottenham(??). Fulham's highest earners are on £40-45k a week and Dembele (who is out of contract next summer) is negotiating with them about an extension and a rise on his £35k a week current deal. I personally think he will move in the summer, even if Tottenham are still interested, they pay approx £65k a week to their top earners.}

Just been on news one man arrested for damage to toilets at Parkhead on Sunday This is a disgrace I watched the video more than one face recognisable {Ed007's Note - The police are still investigating the incident, so that is only half the story you have posted.}

Believable3 Unbelievable3

Glad to hear it Ed I can calm down now lol

Agree0 Disagree0

I think that to be fair to the Police, they have stated that a lot of their officers had cameras attached to their jackets and were receording events. They intend to view the recordings and apprehend those guilty of causing offences.

Agree0 Disagree0

ED007, I have not commented so far regarding damage to toilets. I have pal in police, and he had told me that police would be making arrests, he said some cops had those small cameras on their shoulders and this would be used to identify them, expect more arrests Timalloy
Ps see clown on t**tter that posted racist stuff against Bardsley also arrested
good to see police clamping down on all this.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ive watched it too and i dont why the police have to investigate the incident ed,it clearly shows three or four police inside the toilet with the rankers fans and doing absoloutly nothing about there behaviour. {Ed007's Note - I meant they are still investigating the evidence, sorry.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Tell the cops to ask their own officers who stood and watched, I'm sure they would make good witness'. Or of course they could look on youtube. It's a disgrace that these officer's didn't arrest these idiots at the time, maybe there was a handshake involved?

Interesting blog from Alex Thomson.

If Rangers form a Newco they will be banned from European football for 3 years as we know. However UEFA look likely to bring in a similar sanction for clubs who are in administration and agree a CVA - they will also have a 3 year ban from Europe.

Judging by Neil Doncasters' spiel on Radio Shortbread last night , it would appear that the powers that be are likely to drop their breichs and bend over for Rangers , the cases of Crystal Palace and Plymouth Argyle are totally different to what is happening at Rangers , this is being done for financial reasons nothing else , there has never been a team allowed to walk straight back into the TOP division of a national football league , it can only happen here in Scotland , if Rangers are in danger of being relegated next season , the rules will be changed accordingly to keep them up , it is a total joke . {Ed007's Note -

Thoughts on the 'about 6' who have been told to move on bhoys and ghirls..here's my (probably obvious) predictions:
O Dea
Loovens
Dan
Cha
Murphy
Mc Ginn
These players surely can't sit on good salaries with so little opportunities
Paddy?
Rasmussen?
Juarez?

Believable9 Unbelievable2

Are a few of them not out of contract anyway though?

O dea, big dan, cha, loovens are all out of contract at end of season

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry for my ignorance here but I must have missed something. How do we know there are about 6 who have been told to move on?

Cheers for the info {Ed007's Note - NL has said it he has decided who will be leaving and 'it'll be around 6' was his words. It is where the 6 come from that isn't clear, does players like O'Dea count?}

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanx ED. {Ed007's Note - No probs mate.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not really a Loovens fan, but I thought he looked very comfortable against McCulloch on Sunday in the centre of a back 3.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hopefully it will be these players cus there all s**te what sort of number is lennon looking to trim the squad to?

Agree0 Disagree0

Id let o'dea, big dan, loovens, Daryl Murphy, Josh Thompson, Niall McGinn, Efrain Juarez and Rasmussen go. Keep Paddy cos he showed up well agains Motherwell in the middle and if we are to keep playing this new system from time to time he looks handy and now able to serve 2 purposes in the team. Big Ras deserved a shot in the first team before we punted him but it doesn't look like he will get it and i believe he's on a decent wage so maybe best to move him on. If I'm honest i rate Mark Wilson better than Cha but he's had murder with injuries at Celtic and we'll have to see how he recovers. Its one or the other. Cha has an unbelievable engine and thats why he plays him in away matches (and tattie fields in the winter) like motherwell, aberdeen, St. Johnstone etc. Ive read before that M.Wilson struggles in those conditions because of his knee's. Tough decision for Lenny. Hope we keep Big Herman Munster is the Sticks but don't want the same situation as last year when his position wasn't clarified by the start of the season. Like the big man but if he's messing about then get Craig Gordan or Big Artur on the blower. Loovens has looked quite solid recently but i think you have to be cynical when making decisions like his. He has cost u in quite a few big games against Rangers and others and it always winds me up when players start getting there act together when they're contracts are running out. If we are wanting to move forward we have to look at getting new better quality options at the back. Besides we have already found a new resident bombscare centre half in big Kelvin Wilson. One is more than enough I'm sure you will all agree. Hope we sign a good target man and centre half before our tilt at the Chamions Lesgue. I would also like to see Johny Russell signed as i think he is going to be a very good player.

Well Whispering Sally has just shown that he clearly hasn't a clue what is happening.

He has stated that both offers consist of newcos but don't involve liquidation.

Eh, Ally ... are you just thick?

K.

Believable9 Unbelievable3

It depends on your interpretation of thick............A newco running in tandem with an oldco (continuing to pursue a cva) does not amount to liquidation. Liquidation would arise should there be no purchaser, however if a newco is set up and the assets transferred into it then there would be nothing left to be pursued through liquidation.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the first response.

This isn't going to happen. Any creditors agreeing to a CVA in the oldco will not allow the assets to be transferred into a newco. If the CVA were to fail, then there would be no assets for the creditors to go after.

Gary Hooper insists he wants to stay at Celtic and fulfil an ambition by playing in the Champions League.

The striker has been consistently linked with a move to Southampton, who had a bid for the player turned down in January.

With the Saints now bound for the English Premier League, speculation over Hooper’s future has again resurfaced.

The 24-year-old though says he wants to help his team reach the group stages of Europe’s premier competition.

"There are always rumours about that," Hooper said.

"But I have two years left on my contract, I am scoring goals and I am loving my football.

"There is a big chance for us to play Champions League football next season and that has been a personal ambition of mine for a long time.

"I loved playing in the Europa League this season and I think the game away to Udinese is one of the highlights of my career. I would love the chance to sample the Champions League now."

Hooper netted his 24th goal of the season in Celtic’s 3-0 win over Rangers at the weekend and says he gets a buzz from playing in Glasgow’s east end.

"I am happy playing for Celtic and yesterday just underlined that," he said.

"The crowd, the atmosphere, the feeling when you score at Celtic Park - I think it is amazing."

Jungle Bhoy.

Believable7 Unbelievable5

Great stuff to hear from him, there have been points at this season when I thought to myself not fussed if he goes now! N I think it hasn't been his best season even tho he has scored 24 goals which is great ! Personally I think he will go and prob end up at Southampton due to his personal history and relationship with the manager there. If we got decent money for him n I think he's worth at least 8million push for 10mill tho! Overall great signing great biz deal and would have cash to go n get a new Bhoy! Different option too, remember lawell is a good business man too.

After Sundays superb performance and result, some time for some reflection..........
Rangers games?........we obviously love to win them but we obviously hate to lose them. What if Sunday was the last one for 3 seasons minimum?
According to Jorg Albertz, our Champions League prospects will suffer, just like Rangers in the 90s - due to lack of competition. Really? Going with the apparent logic that 4 'hard' games against them would be preparation for the CL - then what if we manage to win both qualifiers - 4 harder ties than Rangers? And actually make it into the Champions League where 6 games of the highest level await. Season upon season inprovement. Look at this years Europa League. How much improvement can we envisage from this young side? And I don't remember anyone telling me how weak the league was when they were gloating to 9 in a row.
The media are pulling out all the usual reasons why Scottish football will suffer without a 'strong' Rangers. (Obviously disregarding their fans threats of boycotts). Their arrogance knows no bounds, and has bankrupted both themselves and (almost) the rest of Scottish football for trying to chase them for years. You can trace the decline in standards of our league and national side right back to the 'Souness revolution'. Their REAL problems started in 2001 when a certain Martin O'Neill backed to the hilt by Dermot Desmond, showed that Celtic suddenly meant business. Murray feared the Rangers supports reaction to potentially being left behind, and embarked on the path that leads us to today. If Rangers survive, where will they play?
Considering their support have once again showed their true colours (we are the people....we are the victims....punish other clubs that we owe money to...we are too big...you need us....we are Scottish football...plus threats to SFA etc) the complete arrogance and inability of their masses to see what Rangers have done is staggering. (A bit of humility goes a long way lads). They must be punished, but I feel they may well be kept in the SPL - we will see.
Scottish football is at a once in a lifetime crossroads. Other clubs may well flourish without Rangers 'competitiveness' for a few years. Many fans may return to watching local teams - who knows? Celtic have changed their whole business model in recent years and our fans have accepted it. We will no longer sign big names in their prime - we are going to be, in effect, a selling club. Will the Rangers support accept their inevitable changes? Can they? Doubtful.
Big changes are on the way in Europe, with the CL being expanded to a rumoured 64 clubs - at the demise of the Europa League. This may not be the last time Motherwell or D.Utd qualify. It should become easier for us. Life goes on, football evolves - and Scottish football must evolve also.
The Rangers fans should accept the inevitable, and remember, life goes on........as the song said on Sunday 'When will we see you, again?'....if ever?...............kbt1978

Believable10 Unbelievable5

Excellent post my friend..........green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

Liked your post mate. I agree with all of it. with regards to punishing Rangers i agree they have to face the music. I though would rather see them stay in the SPL and take points deductions for the next 3 seasons because i love the old firm matches and i don't like the idea of them not being there for another 3-4 seasons working through the leagues. I say let there nexco play SPL next season with said sanctions and NEVER let them forget WE (the 11 other SPL teams) had them by the B**locks and forever hold it over them. Its just my opinion lads. I loved every minute of the game on sunday, the atmosphere was magic, i would miss it dearly.

Shuggybhoy67

Agree0 Disagree0

Guys - most Rangers fans do realise the gravity of the situation and mis-management of finances that has gone on. On a personal level I can see that the appropriate punishment has to be meted out and that this will always be thrown back at us, newco or not. On the bright side, however, even if it takes a while our next tiltle be either be no 55 or no 1. I'm sure the latter will be celebrated just as much (if not more) than the former.....

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheating to 9 in a row! Tarnished?

Agree0 Disagree0

Cant see how it will become easier for the likes of motherwell etc to qualify. The co-efficients will only spiral downwards unless celtic reach the last 16 annually, at the moment, the rest of the spl arent ready to compete in the europa league, and probably wont be for a good few years. Difficult to keep it up!

I truly believe desmond,lawwell and lennon should have a word with our scots players, and pull them from scot international team or be jattisoned from club, my 2nd point
I also believe we should now go for the sfa about refs as we are now champs again and it wouldnt come across as sour grapes, if sfa dont listen then go to uefa and mr platini,now is the time,.,.kbarry

Why should any team stop there players playing for their country, its things like these that are ruining the international game.

What about my 2nd point about refs? Your off on one int ye son. Your right i forgot about Brown Commons etc. But i haven't got a clue what ur on about now with regards to your rant about Neymar and Dani Alves. I got ur point at the start, which was mince bye the way, our players have a right to play for they're country and they see it as a privilege as would i as a matter of fact. You also talk about jettisoning our players for turning out for they're country AND YOUR QUESTIONING MY ALLEGIANCE TO CELTIC! Its was only a week ago RANGERS were talking about doing that with they're players because they didn't like they're sanctions. ARE YOU SURE YOUR ONE OF US MATE? I think your at it!

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry mate i disagree with both your points. We should never stop any of our players playing for their national teams, it will help them become better players as they'll be tested at a higher lever which will ultimately benefit out team, your second point isn't even worth answering

Bman

Agree0 Disagree0

It wasnt me who started on the brazilians and the dutch read above my posts numpty, my point is about refs employed by the sfa the sfa dont listen to lennon or any other celtic men ask big cesar he has stated himself the sfa has done nothing since he/we can all remember, i stated that we should NOW go and get this ref bias sorted while we are champs to avoid the sour grape jibes and if the sfa dont listen then go to the higher body of uefa to get this anti celtic thing sorted. I take it you lot are fickle yes men happy to be bullied from our stinkin nation(ref/football wise)the sfa have done f all for us ever example last game at ibrox 2men down before we could get started then the excuse of a ref send one of their men of when its to late to kinda even itself out(make it look less on a cheatin note)weve been stamped on for 123/4 years time for change an even playing field,.,.kbarry

We never qualified but we weren't humiliated as a lot expected. Getting into the CL group stages would be considered a success to me, then you just take it as it comes, look at Apoel Nicosia this year. We need to get back to the nights of teams fearing coming to CP and see how things go from there. Even the final is a total surprise, Barca aren't the Batfink of Europe after all.}

Could be very difficult to even qualify for cl there will be a lot of good teams in the 2nd round , teams like maribor and malmo

I would defo love to see us in the group stages of the CL without a doubt. A strong Centre forward and i'm still keen on a Centre half and hopefully we can get there. Mrs E

Europa league IS our best chance of making an impact...BUT thats only because it an easier tournament due to lesser opponents than CL. Champions League is were we deserve to be because we are champions of our domestic league. We deserve our crack at it and the more experience we gain playing at that level the better chance we have of making an impact in it. Anyways we get to have our cake and eat it because if we fail in the CL qualifiers then we fall into the Europa League. We get a crack at both which is great. {Ed007's Note - We need to stop this 'settling' for a EL spot, we have the chance of CL football, let's go for it and see what happens, the money difference between the two competitions is huge for a start never mind the prestige. Last season we were in a CL quality EL group and done ourselves proud and were unlucky, were our opponents 'lower quality' than some of the CL teams this season? Not in my opinion anyway. Let's drop the negativity and concentrate on trying to gain entry into the CL, (I agree that champions of every country should be in it, with perhaps one qualifier between champions of the smaller nations to cut down numbers), if we fail to qualify then deal with the EL, until then though let's be aiming for the top tournament, as I said earlier Apoel Nicosia have shown this year what a decent well organised team can do, who's to say it's not CFC's year to do that? There are always surprises when you see the groups getting drawn and think to yourself 'What are they doing there'. With a couple of new signings, a bit of luck plus we are in the 'easier' champions route, then qualification is 'doable', nothing is certain but let's have a bit of faith, hope and pride instead of already looking at all the minuses involved and already settling for the lower level EL.}
