Was just wondering what fellow tims thought about getting wee fergus back to unfurl the flag on the opening day and recieve the whole stadiums thanks for what he did for us, an honest man!

Believable34 Unbelievable1

Would be great to see the wee man do that!

Agree0 Disagree0

And why would the 'Bunnet' want to come back to unfurl the flag after the abuse he got from tic fans when he last did it??

Agree0 Disagree0

Pity you didn't thank him first time instead o the so called best fans in the world booing the man who had just saved their club!

Agree0 Disagree0

So you can boo him off the pitch like you did the last time? I think he would tell you to shove it!

Agree0 Disagree0

Think this would be an amazing idea rub it right in HAIL HAIL

Agree0 Disagree0

Would be a fantastic idea mate! Don't think it would happen though. We are all in dept to the man he came in saved us and left us with a stadium and financial position that our neighbours could only dream about. A Celtic legend.

Campsie Tim

Agree0 Disagree0

Think that would be an excellent idea it would give the fans an oppertunity to apologise for booing him the last time he unfurled a champions flag for us

Agree0 Disagree0

When he unfurled the flag in 98 and got booed it was the only time in my life I was embarrassed to be a Celtic supporter. So to get him back to rectify the misdeeds of that day would be great.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rumours are its a done deal...jiggythetim

Agree0 Disagree0

Yip a great idea we could have a banner saying sorry fergus and show the other side how its done showing a little contrition .forever thankful

Agree0 Disagree0

We could show the dark side how to say sorry

Agree0 Disagree0

Matt McGlone has contacted Fergus about this but don't know if there has been a reply. As Matt notes the invite would need to come from Celtic.

Agree0 Disagree0

Excellent idea we didnt know how lucky we were to have the bunnet but we certainly do now mon celtic bring wee fergus back so we can thank him properly

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha is that rangers fans on our page again! welcome back it its been too long guys. whats been happening?

Agree0 Disagree0

Tremendous idea! The wee man will never be forgotten! Always welcome in paradise with open arms! Just make sure rangers fans don't snatch him to fix the diabolical mess there in! Lol! (Understatement off the year) C'mon the hoops

Byars38625

Agree0 Disagree0

He's been asked a number of times to do this and always turned it down on the basis that it was never about him, it was about the good of the club. He simply doesn't have the ego to be bothered about what happened in 1998. The man is an inspiration and a legend, it would be nice to see him do it, but unfortunatley unlikely.

Agree0 Disagree0

I supported Mr McCann through thick and thin and was genuinely upset when he left. (unlike many many CFC fans who choose to have memory lapses regarding their attitude to Mr McCann throughout his tenure, it just shows how powerful the press can be!) I would be delighted if he came back for this. I hope he can be persuaded as its a way of acknowledging his contribution and it gives all the fans an opportunity to properly show their appreciation of his part in saving our beloved club from very probable annihilation. Looks like Wigan and Blackburn are both set to battle it out for the signature of Charlie mulgrew!. Wigan to offer Gary Caldwell as part of swap deal and Blackburn apparently willing to bid 500,000. Celtic yet to comment on the future of Charles mulgrew but looks like the player of the year could be tempted by double the wages on offer from both clubs.

MR Green Fingers

Believable3 Unbelievable42

I take it you mean £5m and not £500k.

K-Dot.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ha 500k,,,,u must b a currant,,,away n throw s**t at the moon

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye put another couple of zeros on that n it mite be believable

Agree0 Disagree0

Yet another stupid post from Green Fingers....what team do you support?

Iain

Agree0 Disagree0

IF caldwell every came back i would not like watching Celtic as much...he should never be back at the club, too much of a risk

Agree0 Disagree0

Return to your GP and get a stronger dose!!Seriously,what are you on?

Agree0 Disagree0

Green fingers had been growing something funky in his garden then smoking it if u ask me. Absolute mince. Not a single grain of truth to any of that sh*te. Big Charlie is in contract talks with Celtic regarding his 2nd wage rise in the last 2 seasons and will be at Celtic for the long term.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mulgrew seems perfectly happy to have been given a 2nd chance at his heroes, I think he is happy and will get even better.

Agree0 Disagree0

EDD what do you think?
Gary Caldwell is a Scotland regular with many more caps than Charles mulgrew! .He plays every week in the supposed hardest league in world football for the team of which he also is captin and was voted player of the year. In my opinion Gaz Caldwell must be worth far more than Charles mulgrew?

Mr Green Fingers {Ed007's Note - Steven it's not happening buddy, I'd let it drop. You are either Gary's big brother or Michelle Mone!}

Agree0 Disagree0

Heid no chance.charlie ge us 6 mill and hes y.urs.lol

Hi everyone, I am not saying all of the big name players that r free transfers would not do a good job for Celtic, but most of them r past there peak and on really really high wages!!!! They will end up at some rubbish champion ship team/ bottom half epl team or china russia USA for the cash not the love for football!!!! Do we want or need them???

Believable15 Unbelievable0

Don't know if there's any interest at all but I think Markus Rosenberg would be a really good signing, good European record plus he's only 29

Mikey Bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

I am would take a chance on him if he is not wanting crazy money!! But talking about the players that have been injured more than they play, or lower epl players that think they r super stars!!!That will be All forgot about in 5 years!!!!!

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Jun 2012 21:56:57
I see Ronaldinho is a free transfer Ed,where do you think he will end up?He's 32 so do you think any of the EPL teams might go after him?

Jungle Bhoy. {Ed007's Note - I have a feeling he might end up in China. It will be somewhere for crazy wages.}

it might be a bit of a risk but would anyone take david marshall if forster doesnt sign .i think he could be good for us since he has went away and got experience

Believable12 Unbelievable14

Marshall has just signed a 3 year contract with Cardiff so that's a no-goer.If he was available i wouldn't want him tho,i think he showed massive potential when he was here before but hasn't improved enough since then.

Jungle Bhoy.

Agree0 Disagree0

I said that we should bring back Marshall last summer - he's an excellent keeper.

any players who do not want to stay at parkhead ta ta we will survive without you! youll miss us we wont miss you! bri67

Believable14 Unbelievable2

I can see what you're saying but don't really agree.

That's like saying you didn't miss the likes of Larsson and Petrov when they left and I'm sure you did.

We'll all need to get used to players leaving because part of Celtic's policy is to sign good young players and bring good young players through the youths, and sell both at a profit.

K-Dot

Agree0 Disagree0

No legends in this team bri67

Agree0 Disagree0

I bet henrik and stan still miss us!

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with Bri67 here, if they dont want to stay would let anyone go....for the right money of course.

Especially getting hacked off with Forster delaying. He needs to say yes or no, that is it...

everyone on here seems to be happy to lose ki al be it he not the toughest player but he prob the best creative passer of a ball weve had in years. also dont need mills great cb in big vic and if this big diddy forster is still ponderin wether to sign for us or a relegatin battlin epl club then he not for us get in for gordon wages might be stumblin block as for holy goalie love the guy but u no wat happens wi players that come back never the same not the answer. john park will pull some east latvian 20 yr old gk out the back that will be worth 10 mil next year haha just wat the guy does. mikeybhoy27

Believable9 Unbelievable1

Glad to see you mentioning John Park. The guy is an absolute genius. If he worked for a large financial institution and produced the results he does which will lead on to huge profits, he'd be earning millions a year - we'd be calling him a fat cat. lol.

K-Dot.

Agree0 Disagree0

Big diddy forster? ure sitting too close to the computer mate . radiowaves are clouding ure judgement.

Agree0 Disagree0

Anyone who has to think about joinin a club like celtic is a diddy in my eyes. thanks k.dot your right people dont appreciate the work john park does for us the guys an absolute genious at findin players from no were and has a eye for youth i was watched by him as boy wen he was at hibs spoke to him great man unfortunately nothin materialised. mikeybhoy27

Agree0 Disagree0

Look what has happened to Hibs since he left.There's no good players coming through at all now.

Jungle Bhoy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Celtic are currently Forster's first choice. He's got one month to wait and see who else goes for him though (or who goes for Krul more like) and then he can sign for Celtic. He's not daft, it'll only take Newcastle or a top quarter EPL team to say 'you're our number one' to turn down Celtic.

Neil Lennon has accepted that he will have to lose some key players this window and Reading have expressed an interest in Joe Ledley and palermo have said they are very Keen on signing Ki

Believable1 Unbelievable25

Ledley won't be going anywhere

Agree0 Disagree0

Ledley came here for trophys and European football doubt he would get much of that at Reading........DH

Agree0 Disagree0

Where and when were you speaking to Lenny?

K-Dot.

Agree0 Disagree0

Will have to lose some key players? I think u will find he has said the club does not need to sell any key players, but would look to trim the squad of some fringe players and add to the quaility rather than quantity. Get your facts straight before posting rubbish please. Expect as many as 10 in total to go with 3 better quality to be signed cb am and a target man. maccabhoy

Hi ed was just reading the EPL free transfer list and two that jumped out at me were Paul Scharner,Pavel Pogrebnyak thought scharner was commanding CB and Pogrebynak the big strong and powerful striker we need,whats your thoughts on both of them ed cheers.ps hope the leg is healing ok mate.MACCA {Ed007's Note - My leg is not bad thanks Macca. I wouldn't be keen on Scharner but Pogrebnyak is a decent shout although his wages might be a sticking point.}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Cheers ed thought the same mate,just thought Scharner was the best of the bunch,maybe thats the reason they are all frees lol think big Pavel would be a smashing signing but as you said wages could be an issue.Macca

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought Pogrebnyak signed a full deal in January,was that only a loan deal Ed?I thought i saw you confirming this last week?

Jungle Bhoy. {Ed007's Note - He only signed a six month contract in January with an option for another year. Everyone expected the clause to be triggered and some places were saying it had been. Martin Jol was keen to keep him.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers Ed.How much do you think he would be looking for?My guess is between £60-80k per week.I think he might end up at West Ham.

Jungle Bhoy. {Ed007's Note - Maybe JB, or back in Europe somewhere. Someone must have turned his head with an offer IMO.}

Agree0 Disagree0

What u think about almunia ed free transfer experienced keeper just a thought

Paulbhoy010 {Ed007's Note - I am not convinced by him and him being released could hamper our chances of signing Craig Gordon if Forster doesn't sign.}

Believable1 Unbelievable8

Cheers ed.dont u think we should forget Forster obviously thinks he's to good for us otherwise he would've signed by now and big cervi think he should've been given a chance watched him in the reserves looked no bad came for crosses. Ps ma new tops no arrived yet ragin lol {Ed007's Note - Like I said earlier I have heard that Forster has agreed to a three year deal but I am NOT saying that is 100% accurate. I have said for the last two years, especially last summer, that it is ridiculous that a club like CFC do not have a recognised No.1 on their books. I am not a fan of loan signings and in your GK you need time to build up a rapport and understanding with the defence.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree 100% ed a club of our standing should have a proper no1 not a loan signing but Forster obviously wants to wait for the EPL and more cash IMHO but we will just have to wait till silly season officially starts

ed quick question please what does the "seeded" mean? {Ed007's Note - Seeded teams are usually of a higher quality than unseeded teams. It is a system used in football to keep the 'bigger' teams apart from each other in the early rounds of a tournament. If you have watched a WC/Euros (or CL/Europa) draw all the teams are placed in pots according to their seeding. One team is then drawn from each pot to give you a group.}

1 Saha as new big striker wants cl football he ha s said and is now free transfer

2 Boruc has said he would love to come back to celtic and is free transfer

3 Cameron Stewart good winger would cost us around 3 million mark but would good singing

4 Depends if we sell players could get Mills as a new strong CB to control the deffence.

-Callum HH-

Believable8 Unbelievable15

Boruc isnt free he has 1 year left

Agree0 Disagree0

1- saha isnt what we need and very injury prone

2- boruc has had his contract extended by a year

3- far too much of a gamble at that price,not worth it

4-we desperately need an experienced centre back.mills doesnt have that experience in my opinion

i know there is a guy out there who hates jon daly , but i will keep saying it , jon daly would get as many goals for us as , hoops or rhodes , the latter would cost about 10 times more than big jon, i'm telling you this daly{celtic supporting dub} would do the business for us , 24 goals for dundee unt , equates to 35 for us.bb

Believable11 Unbelievable8

Dont agree look at others who shine at smaller clubs come 2 us cant do it cascarino,fernandez,riordan to name but a few

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont work like that,said before the worlds a big big place daly might not even be in top 5,000 forwards in world football.ps if we do sign him bet he doesnt get near 30.

Agree0 Disagree0

Have to agree with the previous comment some shining lights in other teams seem to dim when pulling on the hoops.
But, that what we love about the game....it is a gamble, I remeber the BAD publicity Dr Jo got for bring an unknown player coming to the end of his career, who in the space of one game became a legend. you just never know.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think the guy would do well for us and id take the gamble but sign someone else aswell. then we would have stokes,hooper,daly and possibly rhodes.great competition for places

Agree0 Disagree0

Have you seen him move or turn!! My old man's quicker.
Not what we need for CL/EL - sorry

Agree0 Disagree0

I been sayin same thing all season think he would get goals for us if stokes can get 22 or watever he could get that no problem. only thing lets him down injurys

Agree0 Disagree0

No offence to the guy but he's really not the calibre we need to bring in. We've got enough, in fact far too many squad players. We need 2 or 3 good signings who are gona improve the 1st team not enhance the squad

Mikey Bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

At least Daly knows where the goals are. Celtic keep signing 'forwards' who want to hide near the corner flag! Would probably be a good shout as a 3rd choice if someone else is injured or to provide competition for when Hooper and Stokes are mis-firing (which is not all that uncommon)

Agree0 Disagree0

players i would'nt want to lose , izaguirre, mattews , mulgrew, rogne, broonie, forrest, ledley, commons, sammy, hooperman, wouldn't be too upset if they went, stokes, ki, cha, bangura , forster, + all the guys out on loan . the rest ie the young guys and new ones like ibrahim obviously have to be given a chance bb

hi ed can you or anyone confirm if celtic get through their qualifying round which we are seeded for, if we will then be seeded in the playoff round? having looked at some of the teams i really hope we are but cant find confirmation? {Ed007's Note - It hasn't been decided if CFC will be seeded if they qualify for the play-off round, I would say they will be though.}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Cheers ed.i certainly hope we are anyway.i also noticed that all 4 english teams go straight in with none of them having to play a qualifier which i dont think is fair at all but money talks. {Ed007's Note - I know mate, it is a terrible set up when you look into it.}

Agree0 Disagree0

As far as i know we are seeded for both rounds. i heard this ages ago unless something has changed with teams dropping out or not winning there league when it looked like they would of or whatever

Kieran1888

Agree0 Disagree0

I think ed that we are starting in pot 4 in the draw if we make it there. obviously thats if the other seeded teams get through but if three of the teams above us get beat and knocked out then we go into pot 3. anyone else know anything on this?

Kieran1888

Agree0 Disagree0

On checking we are seeded in both qualifying rounds and if we get through we'll be in pot 4

weemarty

Agree0 Disagree0

Celtic are seeded no.3 in qualifying rd 3 and as no new teams come in at rd 4 they are seeded no.3 in that round as well. {Ed007's Note - {Ed007's Note - In round 4 (the Play-Off round) the second placed team from the Russian league, the third place teams from the Italian, French and Portuagese leagues and the fourth placed teams from the German and Spanish league join the tournament. Tottenham would have also entered at this stage if Chelsea hadn't won it this season.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Remember that as champions we stick to the champions half of the draw and will not play anybody who was 2nd-4th in the top European leagues. They are in a seperate draw, if Motherwell get through it would be them who would be drawn against the likes of them.

i cant see lenny going anywhere but if he did you cant blame him ,but i would be devastated it would be like a death in the family , the money would be treble for him in wages no worries of facist biggots threating him and his family and a fighting fund to build a good team just what every manger dreams of ,celtic board take heed you might have a riot on your hands if you dont give lenny some proper money to spend ,the lure of the epl is a strong one,jodrok {Ed007's Note - One of the reasons that Lambert is leaving Norwich is because of the lack of transfer funds available.}

Believable5 Unbelievable3

I honestly think that Lennon could be swayed by the lure of the EPL. Norwich might not be a massive club like Celtic but they are a well run tidy outfit and it would give him his foot in the door in the best league in the world. Hopefully the chance to go up against Europe's best in the Champions League will be enough to keep him but could anyone blame him if his family told him they had put up with enough nonsense and wanted out of the Glasgow goldfish bowl? After everything he and his family have had to endure so far, and his own wee Bhoy is getting older as well, it might be time to put them first. If that was his reason for leaving, although I am a huge Lenny fan, then I think we would all need to respect that. Your family's and your own personal well-being should always come first.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mate a death in the family? Get a grip will you. I love Lenny as much as the next person but behave. Anyways you need'nt worry because I can assure you he won't be going to norwich. I would bet my morgage on that!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed i respect your views but lets see how much celtic put out to norwich and i know thers a big diffrence with money comming in, but the fact is that celtic supporters ambition is a mile away from the board lawell words him self is his job is to make sure the investers are looked after before anyone else,sometimes its worth a gamble to have a crack at europe but the attitude in my point of view is that the peaple that take the money from celtic each year is happy with ther pocket money as these peaple are multi million ars it seems a shame that we have a sleeping giant that ther scared to wake up ,i for one said that rangers fans should have bought ther club and sorted the shi= ,i think celtic fans should seriously look in to takeing over the club for me for one would invest a grand right now thinking it could be the start of something that i think would be the right way forward for are club ,jodrok {Ed007's Note - I wasn't talking about our board, all I said was that one of the major problems at Norwich is there is not much money to spend. Add to that the team needs major work for next season, so any fighting fund will not be enough, that is one of the reasons Lambert has asked to leave.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Wrong Lambert is leaving Norwich is because he was told he couldn't go to talk with Villa, money has never stopped Lambert from getting the players he wanted or the players he had earmarked for next season, Holt will cost Villa more that the whole of thier budget, AS said by McNally himself on TV take a look,Also stated quit clear we were not about to try and poach Lennon away from Celtic either,Norwich and the fans have to much respect for the club to do that, {Ed007's Note - Give your head a shake mate, he is leaving because he was told he couldn't talk to AV?? If he wasn't leaving then why the hell would he ask to talk to another team. That is complete nonsense, did you read that back before you posted it? And don't believe everything on Sly, remember last week that said Hazard was going to Man Utd?}

Agree0 Disagree0

I would not be sad to see him go , he will never get us to the level O'Neil took us to in Europe I even wish he would not take on any English teams in friendlies we can't even win any of them

Agree0 Disagree0

You would not be sad to see him go!. You must be a rangers supporter. The man has brought honesty,integrity and above all courage in his fight to make celtic number one in this country.Have a good look at yourself for god's sake, he has not spent the same money as o'neil, and as for friendlie's against any team don't matter a jot, at the end of the day what matters is winning trophie's

Good Morning ED007, what do you make of the Forster situation? To me and many Celtic fans, it looks like he is hoping an EPL club will come in for him, if he does not want to sign, let him go and look elsewhere maybe Gordon?
Also do you think Lennon has already made bids for Henricksen or Rhodes?
I know our transfer window is not yet open, but I had hoped bids would be in for our targets by now, with the Euros starting next week, that will slow everything up and if we have any targets playing in them if they play well their price may go up. hail hail Timalloy {Ed007's Note - Some people are saying Forster has agreed a three year deal but I am not anywhere near 100% sure about that. I think there will be a bid already lodged for Henricksen or the club will have informed Rosenborg they will meet the club's valuation. As for Rhodes it is more a case of waiting to see if he is actually leaving Huddersfield, there is talk he might stay for a year to play in the Championship for them.}

Believable1 Unbelievable2

I've been saying this since December, get ff forgotten about. He is clearly treating us as a last resort. Whilst I'm not saying he isn't good, he's just not good ENOUGH to be using us like this. since his first loan spell we have tried lukasz, pletikosa, tried to get given and sandomierski so I can see why Lennon is persisting in his pursuit as he knows he can trust him.

The other point for consideration is this, if he does sign he will only be using us as a stepping stone. Before I get the so is every other player responses - yes they are but our midfield has enough cover,we have four strikers(in contention), two quality rbs, cover for left back nI can't see our centre halves being sought after.

To bring my point together it seems to me Gordon is a better fit for us- proven,wanting game time and been in the prem mediocrity so will see the opportunity to win things and be in Europe.
Straight choice it's Gordon for me, says he's been fit since January so fitness will be fine barring the obvious bad luck associated with any and every injury. Need to know asap from Fraser, early euro qualifier in which it's potentially a new keeper and centre half. Partnerships needing forged/reinforced!!

With regard Forster, he's been here for 2 season knows what the club is all about, so in my opinion if he's is stalling on signing then look elsewhere, he is an ok keeper but nothing special. If i were Lenny would simply call him and say sign NOW or move on

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with the last post. decent keeper but not the full package. he obviously isnt treating us right holding off for a move. but then again 2 million for him and could get rid next year for 3 million profit. i think thats what the board is looking at and just right to

Kieran1888

Forster, Henricksen, Rhodes and an experienced centre back would do for me.

Godd Morning Ed, just a short visit to ask a few questions.
Now that SFA is going to look at a more suitable punishment for Rangers
what do you think they will do? Will they simply just fine them, ban from
Scottish Cup or suspend them from SPL.
Also what do you think of Stuart Regan offering his views on Twitter about what punishment to hand out, surely this is unwise, as it could be perceived he is pr judging decision, or like most "paranoid" Celtic fans, is this Regan's intention to muddy waters to help Rangers get as light a sentence as possible. Like most Celtic fans I do not trust Regan or Doncaster and feel it is only because FIFA are involved they
have been forced to act. Neil T
PS I hope you are recovering well from your operation. {Ed007's Note - Anything less than a suspension or expulsion would be seen as them backtracking, especially after comparing their 'crimes' to match fixing. My views on Regan are the same as they have always been, he is not up to the job. My leg is getting there thanks Neil, I hope you are keeping well too.}

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Its not just Celtic fans who are worried about the wriggling and juggling and "its not unusul" being softeners to getting Rangers off without penalty. It is fans from all Scottish clubs and even people who are bored to death with all sports. How someone can be named as receiving an EBT while employed at Ibrox have the brass neck to continue in the SFA would be beyond credibility in any other organisation. The SFA can not be shamed. They can not be voted out of office. They are in a unsinkable liferaft and just sit and wait till the storm blows over.

Norwich fan here, not trying to cause trouble trouble just genuinely interested in your opinions on a few things.

1) Lennon is being heavily linked by the english tabloids with the norwich job. Do you think he'd take it? He says he wants to manage in england at some point, do you think he'd consider this the right job?

2)Grant Holt's put in a transfer request and now gone on twitter saying he wants to leave us, do you think you'd be interested in him? Reasonable wages, family live in carlisle so could be nearer home and would get cl football. We'd probably want £2-4m for him, do you think you'd pay that for a 31 year old and wohat would you think about getting him? {Ed007's Note - The only club interested in Holt so far is Sunderland.}

Believable2 Unbelievable8

No chance of Lennon going to Norwich. Not meaning to be rude, but it's a step down from managing Celtic.

Neil will stay at Paradise for the present.
He wants to have a decent shot in Europe and he is a real BHOY at heart. CM

I dont believe Lenny is looking to move to the epl yet as he has unfinished business at Celtic.
The Holt situation could be a goer as he is exactly what we need up front ,good luck for the coming season to Norwich.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lenny won't go to Norwich, Sorry to say club is not big enough even though they are in the EPL, Holt in my opinion is not what we should be looking for Had a good season granted but wrong side of 30 for me think he'll be looking at another EPL club and not thinking of coming to Scotland

Agree0 Disagree0

Lenny won't go to Norwich, last season wasn't the end for him, it was just the beginning... He's our bhoy and we're keeping him!!

Gaetan Charbonnier last night admitted he is flattered to be linked with a move to Celtic this summer.

The Angers striker, likened to one-time Celtic target Olivier Giroud, is on the radar of several European clubs, with scouts having been dispatched from Parkhead

HE'S TOP BHOY ... Norwich are ready to offer Celtic manager Neil Lennon a shot at Premier League
Canaries chief executive and former Hoops marketing chief David
McNally is a huge admirer of the title-winning Celts manager. McNally knows Lennon from when they were at Parkhead together during the Martin O’Neill era and is sure the 40-year-old is capable of taking the Premier League by storm.
But Celtic will not entertain any approach while the fans will also be desperate for him to stay. Also under consideration is ex-Celtic and Norwich star Malky Mackay, who last season took Cardiff City to the Carling Cup Final and the Championship play-offs, and Birmingham boss Chris Hughton.
But it’s the interest in Lennon that was the dramatic development last night after Lambert quit to take the Aston Villa vacancy, after being
told that he was wanted to replace the axed Alex McLeish.

hail hail

Marco1888

lenny will never leave Celtic.

Believable5 Unbelievable3

With the cheats across the city in such a weak position and CL football on the horizon....I don't think he will be going anywhere soon. He has the opportunity to become a legend in the ranks of Stein and co.

I could be dreaming with this one but the lad Romelu Lukaku at Chelsea sounds fed up with not playing and says if he isn't in the first team this season he wants to go out on loan. Torres has been assured he'll be the main man next season. Chelsea are shelling out a fortune on Hulk and Hazard not to mention Mata and Sturridge who both had good seasons are there as well. Hard to see where he is going to get a game. Celtic could take him on loan, give him first team football at a big club, European experience and I reckon he would run riot in a celtic top. He'd also go back to Chelsea a much better player so its a win-win for all involved. Any thoughts?

Sydney Celt

Believable17 Unbelievable4

Good idea mate - only thing is a lot of clubs will be thinking the same thing.

Agree0 Disagree0

Unfortunately Lukaku could join any non top 5 team in England and start most weeks.

Would love it if he came though!

Agree0 Disagree0

I know guys, I hear what you are saying. Just think if we played to our strengths. (giving him game time in British football without being in direct competition, European experience and getting him used to winning) we could become an attractive proposition. But like I said already, I may be dreaming. No harm in asking though.
