Was just wondering what fellow tims thought about getting wee fergus back to unfurl the flag on the opening day and recieve the whole stadiums thanks for what he did for us, an honest man!

Would be great to see the wee man do that!

And why would the 'Bunnet' want to come back to unfurl the flag after the abuse he got from tic fans when he last did it??

Pity you didn't thank him first time instead o the so called best fans in the world booing the man who had just saved their club!

So you can boo him off the pitch like you did the last time? I think he would tell you to shove it!

Would be a fantastic idea mate! Don't think it would happen though. We are all in dept to the man he came in saved us and left us with a stadium and financial position that our neighbours could only dream about. A Celtic legend.

Think that would be an excellent idea it would give the fans an oppertunity to apologise for booing him the last time he unfurled a champions flag for us

When he unfurled the flag in 98 and got booed it was the only time in my life I was embarrassed to be a Celtic supporter. So to get him back to rectify the misdeeds of that day would be great.

Matt McGlone has contacted Fergus about this but don't know if there has been a reply. As Matt notes the invite would need to come from Celtic.

Excellent idea we didnt know how lucky we were to have the bunnet but we certainly do now mon celtic bring wee fergus back so we can thank him properly

He's been asked a number of times to do this and always turned it down on the basis that it was never about him, it was about the good of the club. He simply doesn't have the ego to be bothered about what happened in 1998. The man is an inspiration and a legend, it would be nice to see him do it, but unfortunatley unlikely.

I supported Mr McCann through thick and thin and was genuinely upset when he left. (unlike many many CFC fans who choose to have memory lapses regarding their attitude to Mr McCann throughout his tenure, it just shows how powerful the press can be!) I would be delighted if he came back for this. I hope he can be persuaded as its a way of acknowledging his contribution and it gives all the fans an opportunity to properly show their appreciation of his part in saving our beloved club from very probable annihilation. Hi everyone, I am not saying all of the big name players that r free transfers would not do a good job for Celtic, but most of them r past there peak and on really really high wages!!!! They will end up at some rubbish champion ship team/ bottom half epl team or china russia USA for the cash not the love for football!!!! Do we want or need them???

Don't know if there's any interest at all but I think Markus Rosenberg would be a really good signing, good European record plus he's only 29

it might be a bit of a risk but would anyone take david marshall if forster doesnt sign .i think he could be good for us since he has went away and got experience

Marshall has just signed a 3 year contract with Cardiff so that's a no-goer.If he was available i wouldn't want him tho,i think he showed massive potential when he was here before but hasn't improved enough since then.

everyone on here seems to be happy to lose ki al be it he not the toughest player but he prob the best creative passer of a ball weve had in years. also dont need mills great cb in big vic and if this big diddy forster is still ponderin wether to sign for us or a relegatin battlin epl club then he not for us get in for gordon wages might be stumblin block as for holy goalie love the guy but u no wat happens wi players that come back never the same not the answer. john park will pull some east latvian 20 yr old gk out the back that will be worth 10 mil next year haha just wat the guy does. mikeybhoy27

Glad to see you mentioning John Park. The guy is an absolute genius. If he worked for a large financial institution and produced the results he does which will lead on to huge profits, he'd be earning millions a year - we'd be calling him a fat cat. lol.

Celtic are currently Forster's first choice. He's got one month to wait and see who else goes for him though (or who goes for Krul more like) and then he can sign for Celtic. He's not daft, it'll only take Newcastle or a top quarter EPL team to say 'you're our number one' to turn down Celtic.

Hi ed was just reading the EPL free transfer list and two that jumped out at me were Paul Scharner,Pavel Pogrebnyak thought scharner was commanding CB and Pogrebynak the big strong and powerful striker we need,whats your thoughts on both of them ed cheers.ps hope the leg is healing ok mate.MACCA {Ed007's Note - My leg is not bad thanks Macca. I wouldn't be keen on Scharner but Pogrebnyak is a decent shout although his wages might be a sticking point.}

ed quick question please what does the "seeded" mean? {Ed007's Note - Seeded teams are usually of a higher quality than unseeded teams. It is a system used in football to keep the 'bigger' teams apart from each other in the early rounds of a tournament. If you have watched a WC/Euros (or CL/Europa) draw all the teams are placed in pots according to their seeding. One team is then drawn from each pot to give you a group.}

i know there is a guy out there who hates jon daly , but i will keep saying it , jon daly would get as many goals for us as , hoops or rhodes , the latter would cost about 10 times more than big jon, i'm telling you this daly{celtic supporting dub} would do the business for us , 24 goals for dundee unt , equates to 35 for us.bb

Dont agree look at others who shine at smaller clubs come 2 us cant do it cascarino,fernandez,riordan to name but a few

Have to agree with the previous comment some shining lights in other teams seem to dim when pulling on the hoops.
But, that what we love about the game....it is a gamble, I remeber the BAD publicity Dr Jo got for bring an unknown player coming to the end of his career, who in the space of one game became a legend. you just never know.

I think the guy would do well for us and id take the gamble but sign someone else aswell. then we would have stokes,hooper,daly and possibly rhodes.great competition for places

At least Daly knows where the goals are. Celtic keep signing 'forwards' who want to hide near the corner flag! Would probably be a good shout as a 3rd choice if someone else is injured or to provide competition for when Hooper and Stokes are mis-firing (which is not all that uncommon)

Who is Markus Rosenborg? Ive seen his name come up a few times now. {Ed007's Note - He is a 29yr old CF that was with Malmo, his contract is up at the end of the month.}

He is with Werder Bremen. Has played for Malmo though {Ed007's Note - My bad, sorry.}

i cant see lenny going anywhere but if he did you cant blame him ,but i would be devastated it would be like a death in the family , the money would be treble for him in wages no worries of facist biggots threating him and his family and a fighting fund to build a good team just what every manger dreams of ,celtic board take heed you might have a riot on your hands if you dont give lenny some proper money to spend ,the lure of the epl is a strong one,jodrok {Ed007's Note - One of the reasons that Lambert is leaving Norwich is because of the lack of transfer funds available.}

I honestly think that Lennon could be swayed by the lure of the EPL. Norwich might not be a massive club like Celtic but they are a well run tidy outfit and it would give him his foot in the door in the best league in the world. Hopefully the chance to go up against Europe's best in the Champions League will be enough to keep him but could anyone blame him if his family told him they had put up with enough nonsense and wanted out of the Glasgow goldfish bowl? After everything he and his family have had to endure so far, and his own wee Bhoy is getting older as well, it might be time to put them first. If that was his reason for leaving, although I am a huge Lenny fan, then I think we would all need to respect that. Your family's and your own personal well-being should always come first.

Now that SFA is going to look at a more suitable punishment for Rangers
what do you think they will do? Will they simply just fine them, ban from
Scottish Cup or suspend them from SPL.
Also what do you think of Stuart Regan offering his views on Twitter about what punishment to hand out, surely this is unwise, as it could be perceived he is pr judging decision, or like most "paranoid" Celtic fans, is this Regan's intention to muddy waters to help Rangers get as light a sentence as possible. Its not just Celtic fans who are worried about the wriggling and juggling and "its not unusul" being softeners to getting Rangers off without penalty. It is fans from all Scottish clubs and even people who are bored to death with all sports. How someone can be named as receiving an EBT while employed at Ibrox have the brass neck to continue in the SFA would be beyond credibility in any other organisation. The SFA can not be shamed. They can not be voted out of office. They are in a unsinkable liferaft and just sit and wait till the storm blows over.
