Evening everyone,

Just watching the build up to the Sunderland game, and let's be honest Lennon looks the business now.

I know he went through alot last season and it took its toll on him, but the press used that to there advantage n basically made him out to be a hooligan.

He was suited n booted, and all question towards him were answered smartly, I am a proud tic fan to see he is our manager after seeing him portrait himself so well in front of alot of media.

All been a massive fan of him but I just think this needs to be said as he now has a managers head on those shoulders rather than a players head.

Cumby Bhoy {Ed007's Note - NL never has been the wee snarling NED he has been made out to be. What manager doesn't scream and shout on the touchline? Even when he was a player it was just the way he played. Journalist that know him even say how easy going and pleasant he is to deal with. Incase you haven't seen this CB this is an interview he done on Irish TV, hardly the rantings of some rabid stoat the baw I think you will agree:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=vXGc3TtBBIM&feature=related

Believable3 Unbelievable5

Got to say he was looking very smart ! I'm not overly keen on those black, tight tracksuit bottoms he favours on matchdays.

The build-up was a right Celtic fest :-) Mrs E

Agree0 Disagree0

I think I actually remember if not yourself, someone else posting that when it was circulating, I just think that as a Celtic manager you can't really ask for much more, a mean the guy bleeds green n white.

Always been a fan of him but an honest one as always if he mucks up i'll talk about it.

But it's just good to see him on sky just as you can see enjoying himself.

Ps they asked about the holt bid by rankers n he shrugged it off as if he couldn't care less, brilliant lol

Cumby Bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

I was lenny's biggest fan on the pitch and was delighted when he got the job. However I said at half time before we stormed back at Killie that we needed a change as I thought the job was too soon for Lenny but I was wrong.

He's shown class and dignity as well as putting a squad together. He's an aset to our club and we will stand beside him through thick n thin.

In Lenny we trust....HH

Richybhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

I just love the wee man...

Agree0 Disagree0

Never been the wee snarling ned hes been made out to be ... eh what about inverness when he ran on to the pitch turned around and ran and kicked the water bottles. Its good to see he is protraying himself in a better manner now. {Ed007's Note - The same way Mick McCarthy and countless other managers have kicked water bottles etc? Hardly crime of the century.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Even the (comparably) Regal Arsene Wenger has kicked and thrown water bottles... not that I'm condoning that sort of behaviour. Personally I'd like to see Lenny in a suit pitchside, I think it might help him stay a little calmer.

JD {Ed007's Note - Maybe NL should get fitted for a pair of those 1970 'classy' brown brogues ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha, no thanks Ed! A nice crisp white slim fit shirt (to really wind Fat Sal up) with a black or charcoal suit and the Celtic tie. Job done. Sally can keep his brogues.

You recovered from deadline day lol?

JD {Ed007's Note - I'd rather wear Hayley McQueen's thong as a Spiderman mask than wear brown brogues!!.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd rather pay Hayley a visit while you're away doing whatever a spider can with her thong over your face leaving her nekket from the waist down! Whoop whoop lol

Hi ed, if at the end of this season another club, Spurs or someone, make a 3 or 4 mill offer for Fraser Forster, do we still have any rights in the agreement we have with Newcastle. I hope we don't lose out on him, but wonder if you know anything.
paddybhoy {Ed007's Note - I explained it last night Paddy. The £2 million fee with CFC is agreed. If FF agrees terms with is then the fee is £2 million. If Spurs or anyone want him they will need to negotiate a fee with Newcastle. The £2 million fee is exclusive to us as part of the loan arrangement. Plus he can sign for us at any time because a permanent deal is part of the initial loan agreement.}

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Ohow many times does this question need to be answered ffs

Paddy

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry ed, i never saw it, thanks for clearing that up.
I feel that the defence and the support, have confidence in Fraser. Mind you his kicking could be better, but at the moment thats just being pernickity.
paddybhoy {Ed007's Note - I really want him signed up ASAP, I always rated him, and his age means he is still learning.}

Ed in your opinion do you think all players that we have ( either loan deals returned, Current squad, or new signings ) will all get the chance they deserve to prove themselves. Not complaining but we have a large squad and i for one dont alwys beleive we give some people enough time to prove themselves bangura for one

Well done lenny and the board! brought in three new players to (no matter the transfer fee's) improved our squad and kept all our players(so far!) all these people havin a dig at our large squad ...well injuries can happen at any time look across the road for an example! heres hoping we can keep our form up and have a wee party of our own in may!!...

Believable7 Unbelievable3

Its looking more likely to be march we will be having this party by the looks of things chalky bhoy

Celticthomas {Ed007's Note - It might be even sooner than that CT.}

Agree0 Disagree0

In complete agreement. Would I have liked to pick up Malina or Salihi? Of course but not distressed that we have not. Always like Juarez as a player and think he will add something, otherwise why let Mark Wilson go on loan? As for the attempt with Best, I think misjudged but more than happy to trust the coaches and scouting staff given the rather good track record.

morning ed, listening to clyde they seen to be pushing march 31 as the euro licence cut off date,is this just them being ill informed or is there some get out that could be invoked? green jhedi {Ed007's Note - The licence needs to be lodged on March 31st, but they only cover up to 31st December. Nothing that happens between 1st of January and 31st of March matters, the accounts entered should only cover up to 31st December of the previous year, i.e. as of 31st December 2011 the club's finances are......}

Morning all,
Just a thought - I presume the FFP applies to the SPL too. How will this affect Rangers in the short to mid-term, given their current financial problems ?
Will it be a factor at all ?
Ta
The Real KB {Ed007's Note - Without even going into the FFP rules, part of the problem up here just now KB is that under UEFA statutes they technically didn't qualify for a Euro licence this season nor should they qualify for one next season. Clubs that have outstanding monies owed to tax authorities should not be granted a Euro licence by their FA (remember Portsmouth weren't allowed into Europe when they won the FA cup. UEFA statute's state:

Following the licensing decision by the decision-making body (the SFA in this instance), the licensee (Rangers) must promptly notify the licensor in writing about any subsequent events of major economic importance that may cast significant doubt upon the licensee’s ability to continue as a going concern until at least the end of the season for which the licence has been granted.”

“The licence applicant (Rangers, in this instance) must prove that as at 31 December of the year preceding the season to be licensed it has no payables overdue towards its employees as well as social and tax authorities in respect of contractual and legal obligations with its employees.”

Applicant clubs must also, “prepare and submit future financial information which is based on assumptions about events that may occur in the future and possible actions by the management of the reporting entity.

“The future financial information must include a brief description of each of the significant assumptions (by reference to the relevant aspects of historic financial and other information) that have been used to prepare the budgeted profit and loss account and cash flow statement, and also briefly describe the key risks that may affect the future financial results.”

Believable6 Unbelievable1

ED, Would this affect hearts too?

David {Ed007's Note - It depends on the way Hearts debt is managed I would think. Vlad isn't poor and as long as December's wages were paid before the 31st of December and their tax was paid in full they would be ok as long as they declared that they foresaw some financial difficulties. Plus the club is for sale which would help their case I would imagine.}

Although, there is a rumour that a possible Russell to Celtic, Rasmussen to Utd deal was on the cards. Any truth in this Ed?

Ed....any thoughts on why we didnt make big Forster's deal permanent, particularly as we didn't bring anyone else in late on? And I don't think we can be too disappointed. Remember we got Lustig and Brozek this month. And we got Juarez and Rasmussen back. Who knows, they could be very good for us between now and May. And of course the other great news from Greyskull....just all of it really....was an added bonus!
