Neil has said he has not given up on euro qualification and believes we can still qualify. he disputes that he is resting players and that he feels confident ahead of the game with rennes espn

Believable6 Unbelievable19

Wouldn't expect him to say anything else. He said we needed to win our next 10 games and we draw the 1st of them and said if results didnt improve he would walk and he's still there. Draw was the worst possible result against Killie. If we win we close the gap and if we had lost he would have needed to walk.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with neil and feel confident we must start winning in europe and tonights game for me is a must again rennes are resting 3-4 of there top players according to the daily express. If we win this one it could set up the rest of our european campagn.

Lets face it europe is where the money is and money is where the replacements for sami and a few others so its imperitive we start winning and tonight will be the first I feel in my bones

CMON THE BHOYS

Agree0 Disagree0

Another embarasment tonight, probably lose a goal first ten minutes, game is over as a contest, we chase shaddows trying to get back in and they pick us off with another two or three goals.
If killie can score three against us, this lot could score three or four and not break sweat.
We are dire, and there is no sign of even slight improvement, bonus ball of a big defeat is lennon sees it as his signal to walk.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cmon have some faith I havent been the biggest fan of lennon but the team can prove something tonight it is a weakend rennes team. Lets just all get behind them I am positive Lennon will have learned from his previos european nights and stick your money on it 2-0 to the hoops. Neil will prove he is right to be in the job.

Agree0 Disagree0

A bit of a contradiction, the team can prove something because rennes are fielding a weakened team.
We got a draw against less than half their first team, we had a midfielder playing l.b. A right back playing right midfield, right footed wide player playing wide left when the makeshift left back needed natural wide cover, left back at centre half, its good to see us looking like a settled team?

Agree0 Disagree0

It's a sign of how bad we are rated in Europe that teams are fielding weakened teams against us and we are still happy with a point! The whole attitude has to change gone are the days other teams respect us and field strong teams!

Agree0 Disagree0

We didnt exactly have our strongest side out either mate, with izzaguirre out who we miss badly, along with scott brown. I must say though for all the embarrassment loovens has caused over the years, he did well last nite

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets be honest guys the only reason we are in europe is for the money , a few tears ago i would have said we always had a chance off winning the europa cup , but now a days [no chance ] let take the money and run, we need too focus on winning the league , another year off not winning this would be a major set back . lets bring it home

Agree0 Disagree0

But we wont bring it back under neil lennon he is the worst possible manager we could have had please john Barnes or tony mowbary please come back and safe us that's how desprete i am

Modibo Diakite is top of celtic's wanted list.

Believable9 Unbelievable23

Sounds like my blood pressure medication!
Seriously; This highlights how far our expectations and ambitions have crumbled

Agree0 Disagree0

Did he not turn down Arsenal a few years back because he loved Lazio. Think he'd be a quality defender if we can get him

Agree0 Disagree0

If true it's good that we're looking at centre halves but I'd prefer if we got someone more tried and trusted in than someone who's only played 30 odd senior games.

He might be really good, I don't know I've not seen enough of him, but if it doesn't work out for whatever reason it's yet another one on the wage bill.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd prefer to see someone over 26yrs...experience is defo something Celtic are crying out for !

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm probably going to be told I should be concentrating on the football, and to be fair I can see the point... But truthfully, the guy's playing for that fascist mob at lazio, so I wouldn't want us to touch him with a barge-pole.

Glen we worshipped Paolo Di Canio. so your point is pointless enuf said

Agree0 Disagree0

The funny thing is di canio was before my time as a Celtic fan, so it's difficult for me to comment on - for what it's worth, it kind of sticks in my throat that we had him playing for us, regardless of how good he was. It's not really a situation I'd like be in as a fan.

For the record, I'm not saying Diatkite is a fascist - he may be pretty much apolitical - just if he's comfortable playing for a club with fans like some of lazio's, and working hard for them, I wouldn't be comfortable seeing him play in the Hoops. At most, it might even imply we weren't doing enough to oppose that kind of ideology; for me it would be a great day if a lazio (or a club like them) player refused to sign for us on ideological grounds, it would show we were on the right track. Just my view, I suppose...

Fair enough everyone has their own opinions. but to not sign a player based on the team he plays for and their ideaology is just daft. look at cska sofia an ary club founded by a communist government. if going by your signing policy we would not have had stan petrov. just my opinion that it does not matter the clubs preferences more the players.

Agree0 Disagree0

It seems to me you fans are speculating about the players politics and opinions rather than trying to find out about his technical prowess etc celtic need decent defenders but if hes a facist we cant sign him blah blah why dont you just stick to getting people who can play the game of football and forget about their politics lennon isnt a good manager but he was a decent player and when he was able to keep his mouth shut and do his job on the field he was fine.dont you lot ever notice anything its a game play it.....fail fail.

Agree0 Disagree0

Another journeyman. Glen ur point is total rubbish!

Agree0 Disagree0

To the second last poster: To be fair it was just me talking about the politics, it's hardly fair having a go at everyone here who's commented on the rumour - they seem a lot more well-balanced than me! ;)

If nothing else I'm just trying to avoid being a hypocrite (that isn't to imply anyone here is one): I always like seeing the links between Celtic fans and anti-fascist groups, it's a small aspect of how Celtic is a great club - put simply, because quite often it's about more than the football, some Celtic fans see the community surrounding the club as an opportunity to do some good away from the game. However, if I was to talk about that to a friend, and then a few sentences later rave on about the latest Celtic player who had played for lazio - almost certainly knowing what that club can represent, and either liking it or just not caring - I would feel like a hypocrite, and would probably get called one.
