Looks like pukki mite b a no go now. Huntelar has an injury and will b out for at least a month. can't see schalke selling if there main striker is out.

Celtic are obviously waiting as long as possible until the end of the window before making a fresh approach for Finnbogason. Heerenveen might be tempted with around £5m then.

I am really starting to get hacked off with the lack of signings.

Always trusted PL in the past but if we get dumped out the CL then I hope we dump the penny pinching board.

Celtic need, another stiker, one that can score goals, Finbogasson is the player that we need to sign, Celtic got the money they wanted for Hooper, Wanyama, and Wilson, can not believe the delay in paying £5 million for a good goalscorer, it could come back to bite Celtic.Glen1967

There is a distinct lack off signings, if you are happy with what is going on Kev then you are in a small minority. Since Jan we have lost Ki/Wanyama/Hooper/Wilson/McCourt/Rogne/Gershon/Miku/Lassad, plus Keatings and a few other kids. Now I'm a great believer in quality over quantity, but we have done NEITHER! We brought in a lefty that we have needed for ages, a defender who has been out the game for 2 years, and 2 players for the future(Balde/Virgil.) This window has been an absolute disgrace, and I haven't spoken to anyone who thinks differently. Please God we get through this qualifier, but either way things have to change. We don't want money wasted, we want OUR money spent on top quality young players who we can potentially sell, if it suits US. We have needed a creative midfielder since Ki left, we knew Hooper was wanting to leave a year ago, and central defence has been average for years. Even by our standards I cannot get my head around our latest escapades! The manager has also been talking about cover at left back for more than a year. It's the fans that suffer, it is just take, take, take. Paul

Nobody knows why we haven't signed a striker yet it maybe if we qualify we go 4 finbo if we don't we go 4 cheaper option it could be finbo won't come until cl guaranteed it might be he doesn't want 2 come at all.Same goes for other targets but Most peeps are blaming Peter lawell but how do u know its not Lennon saying I'd rather wait and get a better calibre of player .we don't know and guess what we won't know until the very last day of transfer window so be patient bhoys and ghirls we will get a striker might be some1 we've never heard of (like finbogasson b4 this year) or some1 we have ( like finbo now).this I do know Peter lawell and the celtic board do an exceptional job in keeping our 125 year history intact, things might be looking Rosie with the finances just now but times change so no point in putting all yer eggs in 1 basket. I understand everyone's frustrations I agree we have signed 4 players 3 going out but it's the amount of money we have spent and the money we have received I'm excited with our new guys in but to be honest I don't think stokes can take us deep into champions league people are asking extra 2 3 player wee need 1 a striker and the boy from herenveen is a top player and should be purchased with the funds we have received I'm sure celtic fans will see this transfer window a success if this is to happen fingers crossed guys hail hail bal1986.

Very good kev but how many have gone? Some may argue the 4 players vbrought in were already required BEFORE the sale of the big 3, along with the departure of all the others who have left too.

Do not believe for one minute you aren't a tiny bit concerned at a lack of a proper goalscorer for the qualifiers. Stokes doesn't play big games for some reason, Watt has been playing too wide when he's on, Balde clearly isn't fancied as the answer as he has yet to start a meaningful game and we can not continue to pin our hopes on Samaras, who has shown he's better out wide anyway!

Grim times, with no sign of improvement on the striker front. Think they now have decent defensive cover but there's no one in that team I feel is ready to fill big vic's boots.

Omfg you people are thick, no decent player wants to come to the SPL, the board have knocked there pan in, in this window. But the players we are looking at aren't interested in 6 decent games a year, they want epl, Spanish and German leagues we are pissing in the wind with these guys. We need to be shrewd like we have been for years and make our own hero's, that's the Celtic way.

Think we need to be more realistic about our transfer targets. Finnbogason, 24 goals last season and 4 already this season. Unfortunately for us, someone who scores that many in Holland is capable of getting a more attractive offer than Celtic. I've giving up on signing Finnbogason.

Neil Lennon said we have made a few bids for strikers. I'm hoping we are after Hosiner. He said he will consider his future after Austria Vienna's play off match, hopefully they get knocked out, £4m could sign him!

How can so many be fooled if the Celtic board paid a fair price for once we would not having this discussion, it is all take and no give DD AND PL have a lot to answer for don't blame the manager or his team they will not pay a fair price, replacements should have been in place everyone new Hooper and Wanyama were leaving for at least 6 months.Remember its the supporters money not the boards that buy players.

To my way of thinking if pl dd can't sell the celtic brand to the players mentioned they are not doing ther job, none of these players are playing from a bigger team than celtic at the moment let's start thinking big, after all these players we are interested in are not that well known . p s playing without a striker is not on Meagle tim

Herenveen only paid 400k for the lad less than a year ago, he grew up idolising the king of kings and lived in Scotland for a few years. He wouldn't demand huge wages and at 5 million is definitely not out of our reach. I think NL is doing a great job, but every year, pre season, he always comes out with the same remark-"I WANT ANY NEW SIGNINGS IN EARLY", but it never happens. We always leave it till the last minute. PL is playing a dodgy game. THE MONEY'S THERE. GET THE PLAYERS THAT WE NEED IN NOW.

Paul, it has been done. Why is everyone so pissed off wanting a replacement for a guy no one had ever heard of before (hooper). If we didn't make hero then you wouldn't be arsed about a replacement. We have to go to lower leagues for our players And develope them ourselfs. All that money spent on developing our youth, I'm more pissed off that there's not a replacement within our young team.

I don't understand what you mean Darren-we've lost Lassad, Miku and obviously Hooper and brought in Balde, (who seems to be for the long term)now If you're happy with that then cool, but why are you slating other fans who have a different opinion? All the fans would like replacements sitting waiting in our youth academy, but we don't have the quality coming through. We have good young players, Watt/Henderson(who I like)for eg, but they aren't ready yet, also sometimes if you play them regularly too early it can end in tears. Buying good players at the right age with a re-sale value are assets, the money isn't being wasted. And I don't buy your argument about players not wanting to come, I don't want the ones who are reluctant to come anyway, but there are plenty who would be falling over themselves to come, I'm sure finbogasson would come if we were a bit slicker in our dealings with him/the club. The young Italian defender we were linked with last week said it would be a huge honor to join us, and many clubs in Seria A are watching him. I've always been a great believer in where there is a will there is a way. Paul

Never mind a striker, I don't even think we have a good enough defence to qaulify, if celtic don't offer the selling clubs valuation then we will never know if the player would move, does kris commons now get called a rangers fan (because he like most of us wants some guality added) sorry guys but I don't agree with the boards mindset these are the same guys who waste our money year after year on loan deals when we could promote some of the younger guys especially when you look at game time against cost, here's hoping i'm well wrong good luck tomorrow and the rest of the season cheers, THs
