Hi ED

Decent result in the end today against a hugely improved Aberdeen. I've just been scrolling thru the posts and can't believe so many didn't know Stokesy was actually injured, from what I heard it was a really bad muscle injury. Am I right in saying he's back in training ED? I seem to remember reading a return to playing was expected Dec/Jan, can u confirm this ED?

HH
pfb79 {Ed007's Note - I was pleased with the win today, you never know what to expect when you go to Pittordrie and I think Aberdeen are going in the right direction for the the first time in years. As for Stokes you are right in what you are saying.}

Rangers legend sandy jardine has been diagnosed with cancer, god bless him and his family

Believable44 Unbelievable7

Despite all the hate and bile most old firm fans spout I hope we take this time to wish him the best and hope he fights it

And with rangers2012 we don't have anything to hate no more old firm divide no more 9 in row or 54 or still counting they are just another team like Aberdeen ,Dundee,Clyde

And as celtic fans think tommy burns and how rangers showed us support

Agree3 Disagree1

Stubbsy,Tommy Burns and Stan all had support from Rangers fans so we must do the same, good wishes to Sandy and his family, hope you win your fight

Green Judge

Agree1 Disagree1

Dont agree with jardines hampden comments but wouldnt wish cancer on anyone. hope he recovers .

Agree1 Disagree3

Everyone who contributes on these forums will have in some way or form, experienced the tragic news that a cancer diagnosis brings. I have watched my family members and my wife's family members die from this terrible disease. I hope Sandy has the strength to beat this horrible affliction and my prayers go to him and his family. He is a Rangers legend, pure and simple. We can understand that. When Tommy was ill, he got tremendous support from our neighbours, I for one will be supporting his fight. All the best Sandy.

All the best sandy. Listen i cant stand the mans views and bigotted undertone but its only football and i wouldnt wish this affliction on anybody.

Good luck in your battle.

Agree0 Disagree0

Always someone who ticks unbelieveable. They should speak up so they can be named and shamed.

Agree0 Disagree1

Sandy Jardine is a Rangers man but even all those years ago when he was playing his views were moderate and he was in those days always respectful of CFC. He was as I recall a very good full back and played the game to win and win the ball. All the best Mr Jardine I hope you win this battle too. sending good wishes. Sopot Celt

Agree0 Disagree0

All the best to sandy and his family wouldn't wish this dreadful disease on my worst enemy, speedy recover Goreybhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers fan here thank you to the celtic fans for your kind words sandy was always first to show concern for anyone no matter who they played for
thanks again

Agree0 Disagree0

Some things are bigger than football rivalries, beat this disease sandy, hail hail

Agree0 Disagree1

Why some people can click unbelievable is beyond me. If you dont agree then just go on to the next post. This has nothing to do with bigotry, Celtic V whatever their name is..this a about a man's life. To those who clicked, crawl back under the stone you came out from.

I am saddened to hear the magniicient green brigade are to boycott the ict and arbroath games>The treatment dished out to these lads by polis is ascandal all they are doing is supporting their beloved celtic with acolourful passion. If thats what authories want to spend money on destroying the green brigade then hell mend us. Sociiety has some far more pressing matters to concern with than a group of football fans.I hope they dont end up folding ultimately. They have been a wonderful addition to our legendary support based

We should all back the gb.
if the bhoys go. the thunder goes.
the club will feel it big time if they dont support them. .H.

Agree0 Disagree2

Support the gb sure.... but not before the club..... the club comes first.... no club no gb lol... wake up

Agree1 Disagree0

This needs someone from CFC to get involved and stop this persecution from Strathclyde Police. Anyone who was at the Barcelona game will never forget the atmosphere and display created by section 111. They respected the minute silence last week by waiting outside till it was over, didn't cause a scene or bring any negative press to Celtic Park.
This is a call to action fellow hoops fans and support these guys.
PS. Wonder if the ' Blue Order' is getting the same harrassment ??

Agree0 Disagree0

They are great but if we are honest sometimes I wish they used there power at celtic park to kick out all the crap and all the stuff that gets us in s**t with UEFA and the spl

Agree0 Disagree0

While i like the gb .they will never be legitimisd by the board. 99 % of the time they r great but when they f**k up( poppy banner. Uefa banner), they really do. They must remember they alone arentthe voice of the fans.i like them a lotbut until they get rid of the overtly political cpmments and the tendency for the war songs to creep back in at away games, then the board will not hav time for fans who can potentially embarass the club. I can understand that.

Agree1 Disagree0

I doubt very much if the' Blue Order' get any harassment from Strathclydes finest for obvious reasons, sad but true.......Stevie

Agree0 Disagree0

I think the Green Brigade are amazing when they are supporting the team and the club but the political statements they sometime try to tag all the support with are not great. I'd prefer to keep all that away from the games and the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

I ve got no problem with politics in sport or anywhere just that the gb cant presume to speak for the entire celtic support as they dont im sure.

Agree0 Disagree0

This has been posted b4 by another idiot who seems to think only the green brigade get singled out. The blue order are watched constantly, so stop with the 'theyre only out to get us' pish.

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont remember one blue order story in the press and i hav been critical of the gb. i wud like u to show me examples of blue order negative stories?

Agree0 Disagree0

The blue order and union bears are recorded on camera for the entire 90 minutes of every match at Ibrox by strathclyde police. An individual was ejected from the stadium for CROWD SURFING amongst the other members!! Every banner is checked by police before entry into stadium. You don't see any negative stories in the paper or anywhere because the members of these supporters clubs don't play the victim card.

Having a camera pointed in your face for 90 minutes isn't very pleasant!!

"You don't see any negative stories in the paper or anywhere because the members of these supporters clubs don't play the victim card."

That is a b*******, you don't hear about it because it's not as 'controversial' in this country. Full stop.

Agree0 Disagree0

After seeing the neds posing as the green brigade at pittodrie yesterday I'm not surprised they are singled out.

I hope they are not a true representation of the green brigade because they were a disgrace.

Celtic football club need to support the green brigade,.,.kbarry

Agree0 Disagree0

God bless the gb. Life and soul of cfc .
Reminds me of the jungle.
Stood at no 7 . Right in themiddle , over 30 years ago ; yet same passion .

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes the GB bring a lot of fun to the grounds. (thought the foru horsemen banner was hilarious) However, they also have to be aware that they are seen to represent the club (correctly or not) and have to be responsible. If we want to compete with, and be accepted by, the big boys in Europe then we have to shelve some of the old famine, flutes and fighting history and keep the banter strictly football related (having a go at the dark sides financial and related problems and other topical news items is perfectly legit!). Just my opinion for what it's worth.

Agree0 Disagree0

I could watch that match over and over.I still get butterflies when I think about that amazing night. Hurry up with the DVDs Wee Pat :-)

Agree1 Disagree0

I read a few days after the match that UEFA rules would make this extremley unlikely. Something to do with CL Match footage must be less than 50% of the entire DVD. So to release the entire match on DVD, it would have to be over 3 hours long. It may be possible to release highlights though.
Only repeating what I read, don`t know if it`s true.

Agree0 Disagree0

Go to www.matchhighlights.com and download the game

Agree0 Disagree0

You can download the game from kickass torrents , all you need to do is download utorrent then go on to the kickass torrents site and search celtic vs barcelona and download it then enjoy ;)

Ed what is the situation with Stokes? Seen a few posts assuming he has been frozen out but I'm sure at the start of the season he suffered a fairly serious muscle injury? Also, what are the chances of us selling him with the emergence of Tony Watt? Huddersfield had a bid KB'd in August, with Lawwell saying it didn't meet the clubs evaluation, surely an indicator Lawwell is open to offers?

G93 {Ed007's Note - When Stokes was first injured NL said he would be out for 3/4 months. Every player has their price, Huddersfield didn't meet CFC's valuation so he wasn't sold. With his contract expiring in 2014 I would think if he hasn't signed an extension by the summer the club will look to move him on rather than lose him for nothing the following year.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Tony watt has signed a new 4 year deal. MB {Ed007's Note - It was Stokes Huddersfield made a bid for and his contract that expires in 2014.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Stokes got lazy any way I watched a few games at cp and he just did not seem to be making the effort I think he likes the tag of big fish small pond Falkirk and hibs he was really good Sunderland and celtic he has been ok

Tbh I am glad we will be getting a new fitness guy in at cp cause a few of the players are carrying to much weight commons, hooper, wanyama all good players and big vic can still turn it on when he needs but if he wants that big pay check he has to slim down or tone up lol

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Nov 2012 14:53:13
First off great atmosphere from Aberdeen with the 19 thousand, it's good to see that. But what about that shot from wanyama that hit the post! He looked world class in the run up to the goal and what a powerfull shot! He seems to get better with every game and hope we can get another year with him in cl cause he can really push the team and boss the game. We could have a good deep run in cl with him, we need to stand strong and I would even turn down 17 mill for him cause no matter what someone will come in for him and pay the money because he is too good to be passed up and smart clubs would pay whatever money we want. He will be one of the best players in the world and as he becomes the best it will be great knowing Celtic had him first and brought him to the worlds eyes.

Believable7 Unbelievable2

Yes good to see full houses at both Pittodrie and Tynecastle as well as decent crowds elsewhere including over 6,000 at Kirkaldy.
Only Sevco fans let it down. 4,000 capacity and only 2,600 turned up. Timalloy

Uefa looking at a European league for smaller countries makes sense. This would generate huge income for these held back clubs enabling them to catch up with the euro giants.
The top team from: Scotland, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland, Poland, Austria, Croatia, Czech rep, Slovakia, Hungary, Belgium, Serbia, Norway, holland plaing each other every week with televised live games outside of the countries being played in.
Euro fans coming to Glasgow every two weeks filling bars, hotels and resturaunts and the other cities. Big advertising all over Europe. More money bigger players allowing parity with Chelsea, man Utd, bayern, Real Madrid and Barca, inter.
Top two each year getting into CL group stages next two in CL qualifiers. Dropping into Europa on failure.
The national clubs leagues battling for one CL group spot and Europa spot.
BRING IT ON NOW.

Believable8 Unbelievable2

Celtic away games in europe televised live every two weeks. Yes.
TV companies earning a fortune in advertising.

Euro fans in these cities every two weeks. Yes.

Agree0 Disagree0

This is huge and what is needed. This would be a global product viewable globally whereas the 14 domestic leagues of these countries are of no interest out of their country.
UEFA Fast track this for next season. It's a no brainer.
Celtic would have a euro sponsor no need to link with the other lot. If Celtic dropped joint sponsorship the Scottish company would have to drop the other lot for fear of losing Celtic fans custom.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers would find it hard to get any shirt sponsor in such a situation.

Agree0 Disagree0

We have held hope of likes of this for years and i doubt peter lawell would make such remarks at the agm without it having a degree of substance

Agree0 Disagree0

Show games could be played at neutral ground around the world, but still for 3 points.
Celtic V Zagreb in Los Angeles
Sparta Prague V Copenhagen in Tokyo
Bruges V Warsaw in Dubai
Helsingborgs V Ajax in Beijing

You know it makes sense, bringing millions of people to the sport.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cant see it going anywhere. How many fans can afford to travel the world every other week?

Agree0 Disagree0

Never gonna happen. Right now Celtic will win the league every year which in turn gives a great opportunity to enter champions league group stage. This is worth millions in an already cash strapped league. All the clubs for the other top countries are in the same position but not all will qualify for champions league in this new format. So guarantee it won't happen for this reason. Plus like an earlier post pointed out, people also don't have the time or money to travel around the world every week. None of the teams from these leagues would or will be able to compete with the top teams in Europe for a sustained period. You may point to the Celtic barca game, but on another night barca would have scored a bucket load. Only thanks to Forster having the game of his life

Agree0 Disagree0

Supporters can pick and choose selectively away games over a season. Ryan air, easy jet and others are cheap as chips. .... Just go to 4 or 5 over a season. The home team crowds would be huge.
The added money comes from live televised games outside the country they are played in.
Or beam back to Parkhead with the bars/ food etc....,,

Think we are missing Gary Hooper big time. The sooner he is back fit the better. No other striker at the club can do what he does. Ian L

Believable6 Unbelievable7

Hooper will be away in January or in the summer I think Ian. His attitude this season has been a bit of a disappoint and I think he is playing with one eye on a move back south. Is he holding the club to ransom as well with all this contract stuff? If he wanted to be here he would have signed it and told PL clubs he was staying here. Hes working his ticket

Agree0 Disagree0

Did we miss him against barca ??

Ed where is stokes I have seen nothing of him in ages could he be out in jan ? Maybe with hooper going aswell

juan agudelo if we do sign him he mite just be a good player if lennons other young signings are anything to go on so maybe him and watt and if miku deal can be done I think that's a good strike team but I am still annoyed we let feruz go to Chelsea £2000 a week sure we could of matched that {Ed007's Note - Just because players are not in the team doesn't mean they are leaving.}

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Stokes hasn't played a game this season no sign of him since last season. He is a good striker where is he? Not even on bench or in stand watching games!

Agree0 Disagree0

I really like the look of Feruz and I was raving about him to my mates ever since i saw him play at 13 years old. However, we can offer a 16 year old 2000 a week when he hadnt even played a top team game. And judging by his attitude, I am glad he is not at celtic...would much rather give the chance to McGeouch or Atajic. I just hope that Feruz still stands by his decision to play for Scotland and not turn his back on them like he did to us.

Ed I mind a while back you arguing with a guy about Hoopers contract. it looks like you were right about him stalling on it and its still not signed. Do you have any news about it as I would hate to see him going as I dont think we would buy somebody of his quality. Great site btw Ed007 keep up the great work.

Hail Hail

{Ed007's Note - Thanks very much. That is over a year that Hooper's contract situation has been nearly sorted out. Personally I think it is immaterial if he signs an extension or not, the only thing it will do is determine the price we get for him. Liverpool are hopeful he doesn't sign it and Newcastle have also shown interest.}

Believable0 Unbelievable4

I can honestly say I am not looking forward to January and the transfers. I'm worried already about losing any of the players. MrsE

Agree0 Disagree1

He thinks hes too big for the club. the sooner he goes the better. we need players like watt. who plays for the wee crest that means more than money.
i know some fans will disagree. but as the ed said. over a year. c"mon.all he wants the epl. let him go and let us talk about players who want to play for CELTIC. .H.

Agree1 Disagree0

He's been a superb striker for us but if he wants to leave and go to Liverpool he'll end up like Charlie Adams sisters pant! Lol hail hail :) boogie bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Think champs league will tell a story about the transfer front...last 16, most will want to stay and see how the dream unfolds! Plus it means players are champs league tied..like Wanyama! Mon the hoops

Agree0 Disagree0

It was myself that was 'arguing' with ed about Gary. Listen, talks are still ongoing and Gary wants to stay. They are mot a million miles apart and all he wants is what he deserves. A question. What pay bracket should Gary be in? Top, mid or his present, bottom?
