So there will be more player's coming in and going out. Who do you think will be going on loan and permanently? Alan is going in the Summer. Hopefully DDV, Henry, Commper, Benyu, Hayes, Morgan, Mulumbu, Izzy and Boyata this window or the next.

I'd like to see Allan go in this window rather than kick his heels for another 6 months tbh. He's not been given any game time with Celtic and that won't change between now and the end of the season.

You forgot Gamboa and Lusnig and possibly Brown and Griffiths.

If mctominey comes in, is he not a similar player to Liam Henderson.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jan 2019 22:59:10
Is he not defensive mid tam?

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2019 04:34:19
Tamtam McTominay was playing in the Manchester United midfield under Jose Mourinho last season, Henderson couldn’t get a game with us.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2019 05:33:12
McTominay has the qualities and ability to be a box to box midfielder. No doubt about that. He wasn't asked to do it at Utd but did show glimpses in the way he tries to drive the ball forward. There's an attacking mentality in him, he used to play as a striker. A very tidy player. Another loan without a chance of a permanent signature wouldn't be too impressive at this stage though, especially not a centre mid.

18 Jan 2019 08:03:52
So if he comes in that's 4 players we're developing for other clubs and we've no chance if signing them . not for me doesn't seem right at least the people loans are past it.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2019 09:06:27
Lewis Morgan has not had enough of a chance to write him off as a dud, he could benefit from a loan spell to get game time, but he deserves to be given a decent chance .

Solkjaer says he'll not be going on loan this window so it's more sh$te.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2019 09:23:06
He was mediocre in toiling Utd side, again bang average in Scotland games. Not any better than what we already have and don’t see the point in developing other teams players unless they are either of a higher level or in a position we actually need help in.

Scott Allen signs pre contract with hibs.

Great move for both clubs.

17 Jan 2019 18:18:18
Make more sense to move him along now. What kind of fee is usually required in this instance Ed? A few hundred grand or just something nominal?

Agree3 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - Without complicating things too much I reckon it would take a bid that would cover Celtic's costs of selling Allan (wages, bonuses etc he'd be due) as Allan is never going to accept a penny less than he's entitled from us. I just can't see Hibs would be willing to pay that kind of money for a player they'll get for free in a few months.
Allan's supposedly on £6/7k a week so he's due say £24k at the end of January and every month up to and including June (that's over £135k and there'll probably be bonuses like loyalty etc with his contract ending). If Allan asks for a transfer then he loses all of that - and he's shown in past windows he's not interested in negotiating that figure - and if we free him then we need to pay him up his contract in full but Lawwell is playing hardball after Allan digging his heels in during past negotiations to pay him off.
I went and complicated it didn't I? 😁

17 Jan 2019 20:59:13
Usually I'd say loan him and save some money but I would loan hibs a bucket if piss now.

Agree2 Disagree0

17 Jan 2019 20:04:46
Haha a little 😉 I had a feeling it would be complicated like that with all the loyalties and bonuses. As you say Hibs won't cough up that kind of money and you can quite happily sit on your arse for a few months for excess of 135k.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - 👍

17 Jan 2019 21:04:04
I would have thought he would have been on more than that tbh as Celtic bought him when his stock was high, albeit playing in the championship.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2019 08:54:10
Honestly if I was pedro I'd kick his arse out the door right now with his fat cheque in his hipper. He's not going to get one minute of game time anyway.

Brendan Rogers today about transfer window: "There will be movement both ways, I would suggest, between now and the end of the window. We've got a big squad. There will be players that naturally will want to go and play. We can hopefully do more business. "

Talks apparently ongoing today regarding loan deal for McTominay from Man Utd. It's great that we have (unusually) very pro-active from DAY-ONE this window, but with several of these being loans, it means we may have to do it all again in the summer - unless extensions are a big possibility? As it stands we're currently 'borrowing' Benkovic, Weah, Burke and maybe others and that's very unusual for us.
There will obviously be players leaving and it may be that they are only loan deals out, as well and it's a case of financial balancing?
In any case it's positive to see us being this busy - 14 days to go.

17 Jan 2019 16:10:04
This is good to hear. I was just going to post asking if any of the Ed's had heard of any players coming in.

Is arzani still on loan.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jan 2019 17:20:07
I think board realise the mob could have a decent run in and are playing them at their own game, loans or not as long as it's 8 we can properly strengthen in the summer.

Once a bhoy

Maybe Brendan is leaving in the summer.

Agree2 Disagree0

17 Jan 2019 18:20:26
Quite a few out of contract in the summer so maybe just waiting to trim the wage bill before splashing cash. Can imagine the money will be spend on areas we need like Bayo and a new RB and replacement if Boyata leaves.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jan 2019 18:40:26
Whether BR leaves or not - only he knows and although he had a big fall-out with Lawell after the 'Summer of Discontent', he still seems focused enough on the job in hand and what needs done?
I know managers have a shelf-life in the modern game and we have gone through several managers in the past 20 years, but he loves the club and has a big enough Ego to stick around and set more records.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jan 2019 18:51:57
Make that 2 centre backs bravetart. Benkovic as well.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jan 2019 20:10:05
I meant in this window Weewhitey. Surely we're not going to leave the CB issue to sort out in the summer and get in 2 new faces for the CL qualifiers it would be a big gamble. One in Jan to bed in and one in the summer will do.

Are we interested in Scott McTominay? Seen that United are looking to loan him and Scottish clubs are interested.

No another loan would rather take McCarthy with at least a chance of signing him.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Jan 2019 14:49:59
Yeah, I agree, if it's another loan try McCarthy.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Jan 2019 16:11:34
McCarthy over McTominay every day of the week. McCarthy has the qualities that we need.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jan 2019 18:22:10
McCarthy for me too and likely get him signed up. McTominay apparently concerned about the competition in his position. Let him go Aberdeen if that's the case.

16 Jan 2019 23:09:22
Ntcham shouldn't be allowed to leave, the team should be build around him for years to come. Unless it's a ridiculous offer, get him signed on a longer co tract. Celtic is a bigger team than Porto and should be able to hold on to our players.

From what I understand, McCarthy will be signing early next week, a deal is being worked on and will be seen as automatic replacement for SB.

17 Jan 2019 09:46:58
U must be joking. Have u not watched him in some of the away games before the break. He was shocking! In both the hibs and rangers games. In particular the rangers game he was a disgrace. He didn't get a kick of the ball all day. He was scared of his life in that game and got bullied big time. He looks like he would rather be somewhere else. If u r going to build a team around anyone is McGregor who has been super in midfield.

Agree3 Disagree0

17 Jan 2019 11:09:52
Who did turn up that day ter?
Not one player deserved a wage other than Gordon.
Were you greeting and moaning about ntcham when he totally run the show against rangers at parkhead and scored the winner?
Bhoy must stay. Going to be a star.

Agree5 Disagree0

17 Jan 2019 13:26:42
Hes a very good talent, but he's too hit and miss for me and when he got himself sent off i gave up on him basically, besides how does he fit into the middle when mcgregor christie and rogic are all fit.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jan 2019 15:03:49
BBHOY your going to mention ntcham being hit and miss then mention rogic. Big tams one of the biggest hit or miss players at the club.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Jan 2019 15:34:54
You're talking rubbish Kev. Ntcham wasn't even our best midfielder when he "ran the show" as you put it. And he's lived off that game ever since!

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Jan 2019 15:45:58
Bang on with both posts kev, Ntcham is a player in the making he already looks class and can only get better, I think the Dembele move might have turned his head slightly but give him a chance to get back on form, take broony out the starting line up and I'm sure we will see a different player. And I'll not start on Rogic, all I will say is I duno how he gets a game? Hit and miss is being generous.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jan 2019 16:07:05
Andy you might want to go back watch it before you say someone's talking rubbish.
Ntcham scored the winner, won man of the match and got highest rating in every match report going.
Totally run the show.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jan 2019 16:11:28
Kev l agree with u not many turned up that day. Yes Gordon did and so did McGregor. All l am simply saying was yes he is a talent but he is good if Celtic are on the front foot but when things get tough he goes missing along with a lot more. I just think if u r going to build a team around someone in midfield it's McGregor for me. So do u think he has being playing well before the break? A lot of players like rogic, Sinclair, Brown and most of the defence in general need to stop being hit and miss. But l don't think the team should be built around nitcham.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jan 2019 16:45:49
I don't need to. Brown was, in my opinion, far better on the day. Yes Ntcham played well that day, but that was the last time I've even seen earn pass marks. £14 million for him would be better than any other deal in which we've taken big money.

Agree2 Disagree0

17 Jan 2019 16:46:31
I hate the saying build a team around him.
Build a team around one player and your asking for trouble. What happens if he's injured or spits the dummy out.
You build a squad.
You use certain players for certain games.
Ntcham is a great young player who is only going to get better.
Celtic fans all wanted calmac hung drawn and quartered before Rogers arrived, now he's being called our best midfielder. How is this any different?

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jan 2019 17:36:56
Well Andy your opinion is dwarfed by most other people's.
Facts are he was man of the match.
Your opinion won't change that.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jan 2019 19:17:20
Maybe not, but I'm entitled to my opinion nonetheless - and I know a lot of people who agreed with me, so keep your patronising comments to yourself.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Jan 2019 19:18:52
And a recent poll stated that 81% of Celtic fans would snap Porto's arm off for £14 million for Ntcham, so does that invalidate your opinion?

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Jan 2019 21:28:04
Who ran the poll, HTIC? How many Celtic fans did they ask? 10, maybe 20. They didn’t ask me. I can get a poll to say anything if I ask the right people.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Nor me - so I've set up our own poll HERE to see the feeling on our page.

17 Jan 2019 22:36:37
Our best football this season has been with rogic, christie and mcgregor in the middle so yeah I'll mention rogic 😅.
