were Celtic in administration in 1994, I thought they were nearly in receivership when Fergus bought the club but I was only wee then. Sure we paid off the debts too unlike rangers. {Ed007's Note - We were never in administration.}

Believable5 Unbelievable5

Celtic where never placed in administration in 1994... Fergus and a successful share issue seen to that... The two cases are complelely different. Celtic owed the Bank Of Scotland a figure between 5 & 9 Million as was reported in 1994....... Rangers owe HMRC a figure which is reported to be between 45 & 75 million.... The simple factor here is one club owed a bank, the other owes the treasurey.. Deals can normally be brokered with a bank.. never usually with HMRC... If tax has not been paid then there is normally no room for negotiation...

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers fan hear ed why do you say we as in us Celtic in the rangers site you do the same {Ed001's Note - 007 doesn't edit the Rangers site, he doesn't have access to it. Clearly you are just trying to stir trouble, but you are just making yourself look an idiot.}

and they have a cheek to have a go at Peter Lawwell.

Rangers Chairman David Murray dealt a decisive blow for Airdrieonians in 2002 when he demanded money owed to him by the club and was unsympathetic towards their cause.

Murray was quoted as saying: “I apologise to Airdrie’s supporters but something had to be done about this debt. Business is business and Carnegie Sports also have wages to pay,” bluntly refusing to help the debt-stricken club.

The shame are to be taken over by AEG they want IBROX as their foothold in Scotland (hence the spending of more on the stadium and PA than their squad) Owner has more money than sense, sanctioned the Beckham deal and have already held informal talks with Dan Levy about returning as chairman under the cover of being interested in SPURS

evening folks , can someone clarify to me what ive been told today about the ticketus affair
if they own the season tickets as reported can they for example say they cost 500 for a normal price ,can they sell them for more for larger profits , if so i take it if the fans dont buy them will it mean half empty stadiums further reducing there income ????? tommybhoy

Believable5 Unbelievable4

Octopus/Ticketus business model is this(to my knowledge):
They form a company such as Ticketus Investment 65 or whatever, this is an EIS company so people can invest in the shares of the company and receive personal income tax relief at 30%.
The idea is capital preservation the company really just wants to conduct a safe trade. This allows it to retain EIS status for three years so the investor does not lose money.
One of these safe investments is ticket sales so they buy for example Rangers first 20,000 season tickets at 450 each. They then own the sale of the first 20,000 at say 500. This inflation proofs the money, pays fees and allows Rangers the cash flow of early sales.
So the Ticketus company owns the first tranche of sales.
The answer to your question is that if nobody buys a season ticket for Mordor then they may try to lower prices to get them sold or be looking at a big loss.
I was recently assured that they would have taken further assurances on the sale, such as personal director assets should the sales fall through.
Clear as mud?

On snyde1 that the administrator tried to sign cousin? Wtf? How can they possibly get a player in whilst in admin when no other team can??
They want to lay folk off but at the same time want to pay another wage??
Omg this just gets better! Sounds like the administrators know less about football than white!

Try this scenario for everyone who doesn't care if Rangers are "no more" 20 years from now on the sports news, (and Celtic are going for their 21st title in a row, be honest now would scottish football be better or worse? {Ed007's Note - Are they still showing Friends? Lets get priorities right here, that muck is on more than the news is.}

Now the SFA are involved.

The Scottish FA can today confirm its intention to conduct a full independent inquiry into the activities of Rangers FC and, specifically, a number of potential breaches of the Scottish FA's Articles of Association.

We are concerned by the developing situation at the club and the new information that has come to light since the appointment of the club administrators, Duff and Phelps. The chairman and his panel will be briefed by the chief executive, Stewart Regan, next week and will consult further with the administrators, Duff and Phelps, as part of their inquiry.

We have been guaranteed full co-operation by Paul Clark, representing the company.

The Scottish FA's previous efforts in obtaining information relevant to the Fit and Proper Person requirement has been restricted by the club's solicitors' continued failure to share information in a timely or detailed manner.

We now feel there is no option but to undertake an independent inquiry to establish the clear facts and to determine the extent of any possible rules breaches.

Stewart Regan, Scottish FA chief executive: "Since we have been unable to receive any detailed information requested in relation to Article 10, we feel we have no option but to appoint an independent committee to investigate a number of concerns we have raised.

"We expect the investigation to be concluded as quickly as possible and will confirm the outcome in due course. We will be making no further comment on the investigation in the meantime.

"Finally, I would like to reiterate the need to learn the lessons from this unedifying episode. It is essential that we work together to improve the overall sustainability and competitiveness of the game in this country. This is a matter that the Scottish FA is already in discussions with the relevant league bodies to address."

ED

it is game over as the parent company of ticketus have released a statement saying they own the next four years season books.
even if the Ostriches (c) buy a season book the money goes straight to ticketus
its the final nail in the coffin and it will be Liquidation

www.news.stv.tv/scotland/west-central/297894-craig-whyte-sold-rangers-season-tickets-to-ticketus-in-24m-deal/

Lubo25 {Ed007's Note - I have said all along, Ticketus WILL get their money, and I would imagine they would have asked for some sort of guarantee that the money would be paid back one way or another. They don't sound like a company that would hand out £24 million without knowing they were getting it back.}

Believable12 Unbelievable1

Ed
even if the Ostriches (c) start saying we wont buy season books and just pay at the gate it wont make any difference as Ticketus own the seats now

Lubo25 {Ed007's Note - Exactly. It will still be their money. no matter how it is made. Could Ticketus increase away fans allocations to ensure sales?}

Agree0 Disagree0

Very much doubt increasing away fans allocation will ensure sales. The only time the away support end is full is at Celtic games. Makes no sense. {Ed007's Note - It would at derby matches.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed- That's a great shout about fans allocations being increased. Could you imagine the Green Brigade up on the club deck lol.

Richybhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Just read the link and that might well confirm that ticketus now own the seats
if this is the case there is no gate money for 4 years and that will move the club to liquidation. im a unhappy ger today

also ed what is it with the (c) ?

WG {Ed007's Note - Copyrighted (I think)}

Agree0 Disagree0

So what happens if season tickets are not sold and its pay at the gate ? Apologies but not following this {Ed007's Note - The money still goes to Ticketus.}

On celtic quick news it's stated that HMRC are coming under pressure to "zero" out rangers debt despite being against UEFA rules that politics and football should never meet.The spineless SFA have adopted a total silence on this matter which,if left alone,could end with scottish clubs and national teams being banned from euro competions.Might i suggest we all fire off an e-mail to the SFA asking for some clarification regarding this matter.Also remember every MP who has bleated on behalf of rangers when polling day next comes round.I have read lots of posts from decent rangers fans who are disgusted at walking away from this clear of debt,many of whom have good ideas of how to make right a situation,to be fair,was none of their doing.I have a feeling mr lawell will be enquiring of the SFA so lets help him..............green jhedi

Believable10 Unbelievable4

The gov and councils will of course exert as much pressure as possible they have already stated that jobs will be lost.
Buth the big quiston is how many hospital beds,Drs,nurses,jobs etc could have been created if rangers had paid their dues {Ed007's Note - 70 million would have put an extra 200 police officers on our street or built two new hospitals. Nobody wants to see people lose their job but there has been ALOT more people lost their jobs than Rangers employ in the current economic climate. (Harte Construction 650 employees alone for example, some of them have not had a penny since they broke up for their Christmas break). I know a young lady, with a young kid who needs to travel to Edinburgh for treatment for Chrohn's Disease treatment because Wishaw General said the treatment is too expensive. The young lady was discharged from the army on medical grounds when they discovered she had it, that was after she had toured Iraq and Afghanistan. She gets her army pension but no help with travel/childcare costs at all.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Check yous being all dramatic LMAO.

TTG {Ed007's Note - So you find it funny? You sad sick person. Ask people who are affected by budget cuts at local councils/health authorities etc if it is funny that jobs and lives are being lost but the Government are more interested in saving a football club. Why did they not help Airdrie, Motherwell, Gretna or Hearts just now. Laugh away you pathetic little kn*b.}

He scores an equal number of goals as your top scorer so you sell him? Don't think so greenJ

Agree0 Disagree0

Ive felt 4 a while if the right money comes in lenny would let him go

Agree0 Disagree0

I could well believe it, for someone who scores goals hes fallen down the pecking order keir

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope it is Stokes and Hooper who are playing up front against Hibs,these 2 players are goal scorers.

Agree0 Disagree0

Stokes's 2 goals v Killie were the most important goals of the season & the 2 v Rennes kick started this winning run. Massive player for us, cant afford to lose him.

Just a quick note to the deluded ones from the other side of town. Go onto any search engine of your choice and type in What happened to Fiorentina in the 90's.

It makes for some interesting paralells to what you are going through and eventually what is going to happen.

I will laugh when your worst fears come true.
