Just wondering guys, as the the last 16 ties are played in february, if we sign anyone in january can they be registered for the cl if they havent already been registered from another cl team? if they havent been registered at all from whatever team didnt make it could they be added to the squad?, for example if brede hangeland was to join coulld he play(although that calibre of player seems unlikely)
on another personal comment supposedly iaquinta is coming in january, miku is going back to getafe and bangura is going out on loan and stokes is back?
and finally... who would ur preferred choice be for the last 16?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

You're 'cup-tied' if you played or were part of a squad (registered) already in the tournament. If we sign anyone from another CL team they will most likely be ineligible to play for us.
I have not changed my view since we made the last 16 - I really fancy Schalke as our best chance of progressing to the QF. They are going through a bad patch of (League) form - got beat 3-1 this week and sacked their manager. Their under-17 manager has stepped up to take the job. I want to AVOID Malaga at all costs..................kbt1978

Agree2 Disagree0

I agree with kbt1978 I would also prefer Schalke and to avoid Malaga but who ever we get it as long as me a right good game of it i will be pleased. However i have this feeling that we are going to get Juventus dont know though just one of those feelings. Davie c

Celtic set to take up an allocation of 40,000 for the Scottish Communities League Cup Semi-Final against St. Mirren

Believable6 Unbelievable4

We can't even get 40,000 for our home games there is no way we will have that many at this match. both semi finals in total might not even reach 40,000

Agree1 Disagree0

Fans know that buying a ticket for the semi's guarantees you a ticket for the final. Thats why they will take up the 40,000 allocation and sell it all aswell.

Some folk will buy the ticket and might not even be able to make it, for the purpose if ensuring they're cup final brief.

Agree0 Disagree0

Funny how we had 47,000 on Saturday ......DH

Agree0 Disagree0

Buying a ticket guarentees you a ticket for the final?? i thought you had to win the game first before you got to the final lol

Hi ed first time poster great site mate . I know wages would be a stumbling block but I think we should ask arsenal for arshavin on loan for a season and for them to pick up the tab, if they want big vic that much this shouldn't be a problem as their paying him for doing nothing just now mate. Keep up the good work and merry Christmas {Ed007's Note - Thanks very much. Arsenal have offered Arshavin a free in January, he is in the last year of his contract and is on £80k a week.}

Crystal Palace will bid for Paddy McCourt in January as the Irishman seeks weekly competitive football. Ian Holloway was keen on the talented playmaker during his time at Blackpool and is said to be keen on bringing him to Selhurst Park.

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Good news if true, he'll never be anything other than a squad player for us.

According to reports in the US, Celtic's move for Juan Agudelo has been unsuccessful. Neil Lennon was keen on signing the American but Chivas have said that they are not prepared to sell him.

As the champions league draw looms ever so closer what are most peoples opinions on what would be a good draw for us? do we want a game against one of the big boys for example bayern, manchester united? or would we want one of the lesser teams such as schalke or malaga? either way anyone we get is going to be a very tough side to get results against but i believe in our team. it would be fantastic to get through the draw but i am very happy with what we have achieved in europe this season.

Being Canadian I would love to have Manchester United. Man Utd are a huge draw in Canada so I would be able to make some noise for Celtic and show why we have the best supporters. We have also shown that we can score the early goals, which Man Utd have been prone to conceding. Either way, all group winners will be extremely dangerous. I think Malaga would be mathematically the weakest opposition.

Malaga for me .. shammy

Agree0 Disagree0

Here is a negative choice for you- Juventus. Only reason is if they go a goal up they will be happy to sit back and let us come at them. Dont fancy any of the Germans. We could be out before halftime if they have a good night! Told you it was negative.....

Agree0 Disagree0

Any team even the Germans though a wee holiday to malaga would be nice , does anybody know the average temp for then ? :-)
on an other note im no bigot i just live for the game but how does Derek pie face Johnston get a job on radio. he's not fit for community service. cally bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Schalke for me! Malaga were 2nd choice but they finished top of they're group and are doing well in la liga. Ive watched Schalke's last 4 matches in the bundesliga and they are a complete mess at the minute, defence is a riot. Kyriakos Papadopoulos is now injured aswell and he is they're best defender. They sacked they're manager Hubb Stevens yesterday and the new manager coming was the U17's manager! and although he could turn them around, that isn't always the case. To put it another way, they are definitely the most vulnerable of the 6 we could face.

Agree1 Disagree0

Malaga or Schalke would be the best possible draw for qualification to the Last 8 without a shadow of a doubt. However, I would love a 'Battle of Britain' with Man Utd.

Agree0 Disagree0

I want Juve but i've got a feeling we will get Man Utd.

The next euro game is i believe at home? no time for feeling out opponents our homework must be done. need to win or keep clean sheet to have chance of progress. all top quality sides including us. danny.

I have a feeling we'll get Dortmund.
Just happy the bhoys made it this far, so i'm sure we'll all enjoy it wherever we go.

Schalke, malaga, man u, juve, psg, bayern, dortmund...In that order. PLEASE NOT DORTMUND and we have a chance!!

Malaga or Man Utd, I don't want to get any of the German sides.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would take real madrid,think we could beat them over two legs as there seems to be something not right behind the scenes.anyway that,s my choice.jimbhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Real Madrid finished 2nd behind Dortmund. No worries there.

Evening Ed, is there any truth in reports regarding celtics interest in Juve striker Vicenzo Iaquinta or is this fabricated Italian media reports? Seems to have been linked with us in the last 3 or 4 transfer windows!!

Ice man {Ed007's Note - Sorry it took so long mate. Vincenzo Iaquinta has few options available as he seeks an exit from the club. Pescara and Celtic have shown some interest but issues remain that his fitness may not be what it should be, and Juventus will be unlikely to agree to his leaving before at least one of the two strikers they are seeking arrives.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Cheers for that Ed! If Celtics interest is genuine then I'd imagine Juve will want to wait until after the CL draw before sanctioning any move to us, as they won't want any player coming back to haunt them and all

Ice man {Ed007's Note - He is that far out of the picture I don't think they would mind. He spent the second part of last season out on loan at Cesena and didn't make Juventus 25 man squad for this season.}

Barry the janny

dont touch this guy , his best days are by him & he is not the striker we are looking for .... was john park not at madrid last week ? think we are looking elsewhere for that big target man , im sure mr Park has his eye on somebody , but it comes down to money , regardless what we will be earning in champions league , we aint gonny spend £3m or higher on 1 player thats for certain ..... who would you like too see at celtic park ?
