I think hooper is off and the club would sell him this window coming because if not the fee will go way down as I don't think he will sign for us and he will only have a year left on his contract. We will try and get 7mill rather then 3-4mill at the end of year.

We should have had him on a better contract already before his head got big and the agent was trying to find a epl team, that way if it would have happened then we could get at least 10mill for him but now will be lucky to get 7mill for our top scorer who has been breaking records, think we dropped the ball a bit not getting him signed last year but then again he might have been holding out all along.

Believable3 Unbelievable13

Fair point. Guys like Kayal were given an improved contract. And to be honest he's not kicked a ball since. Big disappointment.

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha..sing a song about a boy that couldnt give a toss about the club or fans just how big a move he gets or even move on a free at the end of contract cause he will get a bumper sign on fee plus huge wage.so he's best going on a bosman

That post above is like one of those idiots who jump up and down behind news reporters.

Does anyone know the extent of Brown & Forrest injuries? I take it they will defo be out for the trip to Paisley on Saturday. More importantly have they got a chance of playing Tuesday night. Ian L

Believable3 Unbelievable5

BBC teletext says Brown has a recurrence of his hip injury and Forrest has a groin strain.
I think Kayal and McGeough should step in?

Think he might start Lassad (bit more experience) would imagine Ledley would fill Brown's boots if he doesn't make it. Ian L

To be honest, I'll be quite content if we do no business in January. We don't need any fresh faces and the only business I could see us doing is if we need cover or an urgent replacement. Everything is going quite swimmingly and there is no need for us to buy or sell.

Believable12 Unbelievable1

With miku and Ambrose and lassard I think we already got the ppl in for replacement and additional fire power. So if we do sell then we are covered, I can only see us going after a young player that could become great or in other words another gem found by park and Lennon. I think Lennon has an idea of the core players and the up in comers so will only get a gem or a known striker if hooper leaves, which I think miku is his replacement cause he does have #7 and comes from a better league and seems to understand what it means to play for the club, they may pay the 4mi to get him. I know it's early doors but I can't see miku being hoops replacement he's looked off the pace and no even had a shot on target yet. Plus I was talking to someone who told me he was awful in training and that he moans when he's being tackled. Lassad might be a better bet you never know but still think if we sell Hooper we will need to bring in a penalty box striker.

Gary Hooper will not leave Celtic in January. If he continues this current rich vein of form then I'm sure he will get his move in the Summer, but not in January. I could actually see Hooper turning down a move away from Celtic. Why would he want to leave half of the way through the season when he could potentially get a maximum of three medals come the end of May? Liverpool would be an attractive offer for any footballer, but it is almost certain going by the way they are playing that they won't win anything this season. Therefore, there is no reason for Hooper or any other Celtic player as a matter of fact to leave in January. We are financially sound after the sale of Ki and the Champions League money and TV deals. There is no reason to sell in the window.

Believable5 Unbelievable3

Wake up. hoopers agent touted him all over england all summer and there was no interest. he wants the premiership but nobody wants him. if any team down there shows an interest hes off. forget liverpool and think more norwich reading southampton.

He could still get the medals as ge will of plAyed enough games by january.

Agree0 Disagree0

Right am gonna shut both people down here regarding Gary hoppers contract situation. Right first of all the first guys right saying Hooper will stay and the second guy is wrong by saying he,ll leave if premiership interest occurs.
The facts- Gary Hooper is 24 years old, is playing for a massive European team with great players who he loves playing and being around with hence the reason why his form is incredible when he,s 100 percent mentaly and injury free.
The first time he has ever experienced the champions league and are in the run for the last 16, what team in England who are rumoured to be after him will offer him that?you say Norwich reading n Southampton but the chances are is that unless we get into some weird financial situation and have to sell he would go to these teams and probably end up getting relegated in a year or 2 time.
Don't you think that with this good Celtic team he,ll be after the group stages again nxt year and the year after, sign a better contract then move to a top team who will then offer him cl football who will see he can play at the top level in football!!
He ain't gonna go down south to get an England call up.
He,s staying here to prove he,ll be a hit in the cl then no one can ignore him for England.
Look at Fraser forsters situation. Jack butland and John ruddy got a call up b4 him and he's in the spl but an unbelievable start and a masterclass away to helsingborgs got him in the squad.
Roy hodson ain't daft to see that hoppers gonna be a smash hit more than welbeck Bent n Carroll, its just a matter of time until everyone sees him running rings in the cl then he,ll get a call up but first of all he,ll be signing a new contract, fact!

Agree0 Disagree1

He wants more money, whether that's with Celtic, newcastle, reading, southampton or whoever.

Almost without exception a player nowadays would rather have a bulging bank balance than a bulging medal cabinet.

It's not right, but it's the way of the world.

Agree0 Disagree0

No mate your wrong, there is not one quote saying hoppers after more money.
Its just the media trying to stir stuff kos he,s a top striker, they done the similar thing to break kayal last year.

Notice Broony and wee James are injured and out of the International in Belgium. Never thought Brown should have played in Cardiff as he has been carrying an injury and has been used sparingly by NL for Celtic.
However he wanted to play and even sat out the Hearts game as a precaution and now we may lose him for even longer?
I hope all the other guys on International duty can stay fit as the winter schedule for The Hoops approaches.
Never would say I wanted my country to lose; but at a difficult venue against the form team, it might put us out of our misery and more importantly get shot of Looby Levein and open the door for WGS?

Agreed celtic pay these players wages so they should be told by club not to play,(especialy if carrying a injury) we rested brown against hearts for the scotland game, what has the sfa ever done for us?,.,.kbarry

Or the Romans?
Jhimbhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Remember brown could say no to play. He is totally liable for aggravating his injury through his desire to play for his country

Agree0 Disagree0

All comes back to the more laid back attitude this season without a real challenge.
we all know there is no way that Brown would have been cherry picking games if more competitive. If going to miss games then it would definitely been internationals. Stevo Dundee
