heard william gallas been offered a 1 year contract according to some social media sites please say that's not correct ed lol. He's nearly as old as weir.

Believable8 Unbelievable20

I'd definitely take Gallas for a year as long s he didn't want stupid money. Daviebhoy77

Agree1 Disagree0

He would be a good leader on and off the pitch has bags of experience him or dunne would be good for these quality's alone
Gordybhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't believe it but think I'd take gallas in a heart beat if injury free could do a job on the pitch and off with our other cb

SOS BHOY

Agree0 Disagree0

Would love gallas he's tremendous, would bring bags of ability and loads of experience for the young lads around him, an the davie weir comment? He didn't do a bad job for the deceased lot
S nic

Agree0 Disagree0

Providing he took a pay-cut i'd love him!

Agree0 Disagree0

Chase him, a trouble maker of the first order, have you all forgotten his huffiness and sit down on the pitch nonsense?

Agree0 Disagree0

People want gallas to sign but laugh at the idea of dunne signing I would sign dunne over gallas all daylong, dunne would be more comitted plus has a point to prove to those that have written him off, 1 season of injuries and he's a hasben, but galkas has been a joke for a few seasons! Obly my opinon but i'd sooner someone that supported celtic than someone thst was looking at a big pay deal.

Similar to the Carlos Bacca post, I have always thought Jelle Vossen of Genk would be a great signing for Celtic

If he's as good as Jan Venegoor of Heselink i'm all for it, but do you think Genk can produce the same standard of player as Heselink?. Stevie

Agree0 Disagree1

Vossen is a cracking player well above Big Jan. Daviebhoy77

1st - the Genk development policy is outstanding, Stevie. De Brunye, courtois, defour, benteke all came through the Genk academy! 2nd - vossen is the skipper, and R Genk are very reliant on him - I do not expect they would give him up easily. number of good players in the genk squad we should be looking at though - genk's policy very similar to celtic's. Jean pierre you say you rate the Genk academy, what do you think of the Hesselink academy where Jan Vennegoor came from?. Stevie

Agree0 Disagree1

Big Jan came through FC Twente's youth acamedy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Vossen and JVH aren't even similar players so i'm not sure what the comparison is. Or that of Twente's academy. From what i've seen he looks good but as Jean-Pierre points out he's probably not a realistic signing unless we stumped up big money, which won't happen.

Agree0 Disagree0

Seriously? Is no-one getting Stevie's joke? It's to do with the original wording- Vossen of Genk. He was taking the p*ss. It was a joke.

All that aside, I'm a big fan of Genk- and as JP said, they have a great development process.

Vossen is a great player, good all round striker, but works his socks off every game. (Think Doyle but younger and more clinical)

I would love to see him in the hoops.

Thank you Patient, I thought I was going to have to explain my own joke, admittedly it wasn't that funny but i'd had a few when I posted. Stevie

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry Stevie. It was a tedious link though!

Agree0 Disagree0

Patient - you a big genk fan? I am a huge admirer of them and their policy - they have signed 2 or 3 guys we were looking at/linked with. personally I would like us to look HARD at koulibaly (came through the excellent metz system) and kara mbodj. Any thoughts? Mbodj in the wanyama role, koulibaly as a bruiser CB. Prior to balde signing, I would also have liked us to look at Ojo (who I am sure we were tracking previously).

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry - last post re mbodj and koulibaly was from me. Jean-Pierre Laguerre.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes JP- been a fan since the days of Wesley Sonck!

I've heard we were tracking Ojo- whether that's true or not is another thing- and I think he'd be a good singing, but of the few you mentioned I think Kara would be a great replacement for Wanyama. He would however, probably cost 2/3 million + (and that's conservative).

If we lost Hooper and Wanyama and replaced them with Vossen and Kara- it be the most excited I've been at some Celtic signings in a long time!

Celtic should move for Royston Drenthe. Surely he would prefer Celtic over Reading

Believable13 Unbelievable12

He would certainly be an interesting signing. However, he seems like the kind of player that would move based solely on who'll give him the most money.

Agree0 Disagree1

How does he seem like this type of player.

cauldyboys

Agree0 Disagree0

Really liked him when he was at Everton a couple of seasons ago. Looked like a great player. Could definitely do a job for us, but I've heard he's a bit of a person off the pitch, maybe why he is where he is now!

Agree0 Disagree0

Trouble wherever he goes, not worth the bother Daviebhoy77

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed a remember after last under 21 championship we were linked with a young dutchman rigters maybe wrong spelling and him and drenthe were in same team and drenthe looked class and would be way us rigters went tae blackburn but never got a game!

as an everton and celtic fan stay well clear he thinks he's the bees knees and is more intrested in off the field activities. he's useless

LFC close to signing Mignolet. Could be bad news for us as S'Land have already been sniffing around big Fraser.

Believable9 Unbelievable9

Don't think he would go, has already said he wants to be playing for celtic next season. So doubt it will happen, only players I see being sold are hooper, big vic and maybe stokes. everyone else has already been released or a loan deal has finished.

Agree1 Disagree0

To be honest I wouldn't mind Forster going. Many of us, including myself, got a bit carried away with a few performances he gave and overrate him a bit. Since his injury around January/February he hasn't been great. He's been good for about 6 months in the three years we've had him. If he's so desperate to get in the England squad then so be it, move to the premier league and we'll hopefully get good money because he's got a few years on his contract. {Ed007's Note -

Agree0 Disagree1

I wouldn't say he's only been good for 6 months out of the three years. I may be wrong but did he not break the clean sheet record in his first season? I would hate to lose him if i'm honest, young keeper who has proved his ability in the CL and will only get better with time. Unless daft money gets offered and we have a suitable replacement in place before we allow him to go I would say we should not even contemplate allowing him to go.

Can't see Hooper going to Reading, would be a crazy move for him. If he does go somewhere though I don't think Rhodes is the answer. I was raving about him last year but from what I saw at Blackburn he rarely changed matches, mostly scored when point were secure and his head went down a fair bit when things were going pear shaped. Carlos Bacca was mentioned the other day, very good shout. Daviebhoy77

Believable5 Unbelievable12

Do you mean Carlos Bacca has been linked or suggested?

Agree0 Disagree0

Rhodes is on 45k a week at blackburn. As if we can afford those wages. Need to get in the real world mate

Agree0 Disagree1

Are u serious?! Rhodes scored 29 league goals for a team that finished 17th in the league. He would bang them in week in week out playing for Celtic. Not that I think we will get him mind u, we have clearly missed our chance.

Agree1 Disagree1

Somebody suggested Bacca. I'm in the real world and wouldn't want Rhodes as my post says. Daviebhoy77

Agree0 Disagree0

When hooper hopefully goes I would like to see celtic go for adam le fondre
Hew1888

Agree1 Disagree4

Rhodes managed to score a bagful for a team who played arguably the worse football in the championship. Lumping long balls all day long and even though he's a big target man there is more to him than that. He played some great football and link up play at Huddersfield while scoring that incredible haul while he was there.

Great goalscorer and would be absolutely dynamite at the Celts.

Never going to happen though! The fee Blackburn would want is reportedly over 10 million, so waaaaaayy more than we would pay for a striker

I don't believe that 45k a week patter for a second btw, no chance. 30 odd max

Agree0 Disagree0

I said a while back Hooper will be staying with us despite what everyone is saying. I can say it is not looking as good as back then but the chances are still high he will sign a new contract with us, Watch the space CraigyBhoy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nothing to do with readings position, it's all about big wages, and celtic can't compete, sorry,

Agree0 Disagree0

You must be joking about rhodes, he's a goal machine, he could be the next shearer and not duncan,. ,. kbarry

Lots of rumours going round that Hooper will sign for Reading for 8 million! I would snatch Reading's arm of for that bid and thank them very much. Good luck to Hoops if he is off, he will always be an icon for parkhead faithful. HH

ShottsBhoy

Believable13 Unbelievable15

I rate hooper and beleave he can make it in any top league in europe, but as I've said before for a player to want to leave for money when on more than he can spend in a lifetime unless he has a bad gambling habit or worse drugs is just greed pure greed he obviously has no ambition, ok I know ther is many out ther that's gona say including him that it's to get noticed for the England squad but to go to a club that is purely going to be fighting relagation is the wrong move simple as that, if he does go good luck to him he has done us well but he will look back on champion league nights and hurt like some others miller and co

Agree0 Disagree0

If Hooper left us to join Reading, I think a lot of Celtic fans would lose a massive amount of respect for him. It would be a move fueled purely by money and not to better his career or increase his international chances.
