Ed anything in the link with Ferdinand. Seen it now on a few different sites now. Can't see it happening myself but his experience would be a big bonus in Europe.

CELTIC have targeted Haitian midfielder Jeff Louis as their first summer signing.

The 21-year-old is about to move into the final year of his contract with French club, AS Nancy, who he joined from Le Mans in 2012 for £650,000.

He is expected to be available for less than £3million.

Neil Lennon's scouts - along with those of Monaco - have been tracking Louis for several months, and have watched him finish the season strongly with a spurt of goals.

In recent weeks, they have seen Louis find the net in games against Lens, Chateauroux and Caen.

Before that, he hit a perfect hat-trick against Havre - a header, then a right-foot shot and finally a left-foot screamer.

All of which has helped take his tally for the season to 12 in 28 league games from his attacking position in central midfield or wide, and fire to the top of the club's scoring chart.

Louis is strong, but technically very skilful, and is a huge favourite with the AS Nancy fans. Louis is natural entertainer with his dribbling style, pace and powerful shooting.

An attacking midfielder, who scores goals?! Looks a decent prospect.

He does HB.

From the little footage I've seen on facetube he looks like an entertainer. Quick, skillful, can play a great pass, beat a man, score and seems to have confidence to grab the game by the scruff of the neck.

Can't say I'm blown away by the link but as things stand I'd want a CAM and a WF, and that's before Sammy announced he's leaving. If we get this lad + one or two others (Snodgrass, Djuricic, or a couple others I can suggest) it may be good signs.

Agree0 Disagree0

Looks like a good player, but you would think Celtic have learned their lesson on spending a few million on unproven players i.e. Pukki, Boerrigter, Balde. Would rather we spent on quality this summer, not quantity.

Agree0 Disagree0

I woyuld argue that if Monaco are tracking him. the boy is quality!

Agree0 Disagree0

That's my worry LLF1. The quantity over quality argument was seen up at Perth last week and against Morton in the League Cup earlier in the season. Our starting XI is a good solid Scot Prem winning side who's out of it's depth in Europe, beyond that we look like an overpaid midtable Scot Prem squad.

Agree0 Disagree0

LF1 I hope Celtic have learned their lession of what can be signed . Big Victor, Virgil, Izzy, Biton, and Ambrose to mention just a few .

Chris02

The problem is they don't learn their lesson of what SHOULDN'T be signed.

Pukki, Balde, Boerrigter, Murphy, etc. etc. etc.
The list is too long for my poor fingers to type!

I see the rumour mill down south has picked up with regards to Lennon joining Norwich, starting to think there might be a strong possibility of this happening now and I don't know how I feel about it is there any manager we could attract who is going to bring us up another level.

Believable11 Unbelievable10

Just seen that on BBC's gossip column:

Celtic boss Neil Lennon is ready to quit the Scottish Premiership champions to take charge at Norwich as they prepare for the Championship.

The source is The Mirror but?!

Agree0 Disagree0

This is not happening. Lennon has no interest in the Norwich job and his words recently have been reported massively out of context. Lennon would like to manage in the Premier League one day, but he was by no means saying that he wanted a move now. Would be too much of a wrench for him to give up the Celtic job and managing in the Champions League.

Agree0 Disagree0

It is starting to get on my nerves now that everytime he is asked about potential jobs in England he always has to say that he would like to move one day. I find him a little patronizing - all he has to say is no comment, and that he is already at one of the biggest clubs in the world. At the end of his playing career he ended up moving to Forest, a few months later he retired supposedly not settling in England, as far as I know his family stayed in the West End, anyway bottom line, he couldn't get back to Glasgow quick enough. You know what they say about not knowing what you have until it's gone. My feelings are quite clear, I wouldn't mind a new manager, new ideas - out of left field what about someone like Thomas Tuchel, he is regarded as the best upcoming coach in Germany, has just left mainz, they are desperate for him to stay but he is up against it as he never gets any money to spend and still has managed to take them into Europe. Some of his ideas are supposedly visionary, so what something like that. You would have to offer him a brilliant package, as far as I know he has already knocked back Schalke and a few others, but the manager is the most important person at any club, so if it takes 2 million a year for him pay it. I would prefer a top top manager to 2 average players!

Agree0 Disagree0

Be careful what you wish for, Owen Coyle or Kenny Sheils could come walzing in .
