What do you think about these Gary Hooper to Newcastle rumours ed? And do you think that he'd be willing to go?

maka {Ed007's Note - They tried to buy him during the summer and got nowhere.}

Believable7 Unbelievable12

Rumour its not just pardew QPR monitering his situation.......talk of a 7m bid. I would accept it if im being honest

Agree0 Disagree0

Different circumstances now Ed. Newcastle are doing well at the moment and look unlikely to be relegated at the end of this season & have a good manager in place. Hooper looks frustrated by constant changing to his playing partner up front which as apparent during games. I feel that the players don't respect the manager and if Lennon is still in charge come January, I feel hooper could be one of many leaving.

Agree0 Disagree0

So a 9 million pound bid for jelavic was ridiculed by peter lawell but you lot believe a 7 million pound bid is coming in jan for hooper. You lot afe unreal. jelavic is a croatian international and even though he was out for a good 4 months with an injury, was still the best striker in the spl by a country mile. 7 million?....get real. j1985 {Ed007's Note - Has Lawwell actually said anything about Hooper? It was Gordon Smith that came out with the Jelavic story, CFC can't control what is printed in the press, it is a totally different situation and deserved the ridicule that it brought. So your point is......?}

Agree0 Disagree0

My point is your chief exec sat like a giggling wee dchool kid in front of the press and made the comments about a 29 million pound bid for hooper....from another club on another planet. When asked specifically about Jelavic bid. Now you lot are actually expecting 7 million for a striker who is nowhere near jelavic standard. If you get 3 million you'll be lucky. j1985 {Ed007's Note - Take it up with the press regarding Hooper, it was them that said it, not Lawwell or anyone connected with CFC.}

Photographers and TV cameras are outside Parkhead. James McFadden will be training over the next few days while Celtic are considering whether to make him a formal contract offer.

Believable14 Unbelievable7

Is it any coincidence the agm is the morn do they think we zip up the back

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha, he really is an injury prone average player, I can see the attraction for Celtic. Cheearrrs Keith! 4IAR here we go.

Agree0 Disagree0

1.ha ha we'll see you wee "keigh", hes a good player who's 28 if we get him on a pay as you play magic. Wonder if you thought he was rubbish when he was scoring crackers for scotland!! ;)
2. Also atleast we can afford a player you tax . soap dodgers over there.
keeping the faith

chrisbhoy 67

Agree0 Disagree0

Did you not keep the faith last season, and yes I support every player who plays with Scotland but have always thought James McFadden is a very average player who pulls of the odd bit of 'magic', kind of like Kris Commons, the player who will be fighting for a place with McFadden. Happy days.

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha rangers fans are the saddest people on the planet!

Agree0 Disagree0

I see this as a positive signing but equally need to look at the negatives: a) is this the end of commons/court in jan?/ is it a smoke screen for agm?/ why has no epl signed him - injury?/why r we not seeking c/h on same deals - thats the area most needing improved-why is NL not seeing this? / where does he play in current line up? who drops out?.
On the plus side - he's 28, still can come good after a few knee injuries. might just be the injection we need to kick start a sluggish start. again, the orcs will look on in envy, then claim they wouldnt want him! {Ed007's Note - If Rangers were trying to sign him we would be rolling in the aisles laughing.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed is that cause u r totally against the signing or cause he'd never go in 1st place? Get the impression u cant stand the guy. He's stilla decent player on a free {Ed007's Note - I am against the signing, I have said all summer about his suspect knees. I've nothing against him personally, I have met him a few times over the years. I just don' think CFC should (or need to) sign him. He has not played a competitive game since last August, there is a reason he is on a free (which I said all summer and was called a liar over) and nobody has offered him a contract. If he signs and runs amok, we win the league etc I will hold my hands up and say I was wrong. I would love to be proved wrong about this.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers fans are sad?? I dont understand the logic, they won the last old firm Cup Final, The last old firm game in Spl very convincingly, are the current triple Spl champions and they have a healthy Spl lead.
Think its time for a reality check down Paradise, we are mediocre and ur a fair bit worse.
In the past 15 games u have lossed against;
Wolves, Inter's B team with 10 men, Swansea, Sion, Atletico Madrid, StJohnstone, Rangers and Hearts.
Think about it if some idiotic Gers fan hadn't went way over the top in his dislike of Lennon the hoops faithful wouldnt be as supportive and as lenient as they have been, Owen Coyle will be in charge in February if the Ginger whinger lasts... {Ed007's Note - When you start counting the results of friendlies you lose any credibility we were willing to give you.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Know him personally big Sellik fan but his reaction to signing for Rangers is not 1 of laughter his reaction when asked the question is If they paid me more than Sellik I would Sign.
Hes a great talent if he can stay injury free but not as good as Naismith? {Ed007's Note - Is that a question or a statement? ;-)

What's the latest on McFadden Ed? Is he at Celtic Park?.......Miko {Ed007's Note - I don't think talks are that far advanced yet Miko. They need to be careful, they stairs at the front of Paradise can be tricky and scupper the deal ;-)

Believable6 Unbelievable1

I hope we sign James today and he goes on to be a star in hoops also we have enough peeeepel slagging celtic just now and taking shots and having digs - urge celtic fans to get behind the team just now, the guy has had injury problems past few seasons but i hope he's over them now - celtic have always had a player or 2 who can do something different in a game i hope he's our next to do this..ED afternoon
davybhoy ktf (working G51 area) {Ed007's Note - Afternoon Davy.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I see u lot are getting all happy with the old man going to sign for the 2nd best team in glasgow
do u think there is anything in this or are celtic pulling ur legs again
there is a AGM the moro anything behind this will there be {Ed007's Note - 28 isn't old!!! Less of your cheek ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

It seems we are undecided on McFadden. I have mixed feelings. If he can still do half of what he has done in the past he can do a job for us. Cruciate ligament injuries are serious so will he be the same player? I am more concerned that this signing appears to be an act of desperation, unplanned and a knee jerk reaction to take the heat from certain powerbrokers at Paradise. I really hope that he can do a job and whatever the reasons and whoever decided to bring him that it works out well. Being a Celtic fan I am ever optimistic and hopeful

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he'd be a great signing but only if he can stay clear of injuries. Still young enough to do a few years for us and he has great experience of the premiership. Still think we should be going for a quality central defender first and foremost.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mcfadden is no better than our current forward line

Agree0 Disagree0

I really hope mcfadden signs for celtic as it would be great to see an injury prone, over rated player on celtics books. just like thomas graversen and freddy ljundberg before him. Lennon truely doesn't have a clue. j1985

Hi heard today, macfadden to sign today, hooper away in jan to newcastle, commons away to qpr. you heard anything ed? legend67 {Ed007's Note - Newcastle tried to sign Hooper during the summer, the club and the player weren't interested in any deal. I doubt Commons would interest many EPL clubs at the moment and yes sadly it looks like McFadden could sign, nobody else wants him.}

Believable3 Unbelievable11

Hi, are you not a fan of McFadden? I think Celtic have got as good if not better than him at the club. A waste of money if you ask me. His wages are going to be at least 25k a week.
Stevebhoy {Ed007's Note - I'm with you Steve, but his wages won't be as high as that. That would make it even worse.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do we need to sign Mcfadden (who isn't fit ) ? We are already strong enough in that position and have just spent 2.2 mil on Bangura and there is also be the possibility of Rasmussen coming back especially if Lennon gets the sack as he's not had a chance under him. Everyone knows its the defence which we need to strengthen. Is this just another move by the board to try and pull the wool over the fans eyes ? {Ed007's Note - And the AGM is tomorrow.......}

Agree0 Disagree0

I think I read somewhere that wolves offered him more than 30k a week. Was Everton not ment to have had on trial to check his fitness out. What happened their? If he did sign he will be one of the top earners at the club. Waste of money.
Stevebhoy {Ed007's Note - Nobody offered him any deal, his agent said talks with Wolves broke down, it never reached financial negotiations though.}

Agree0 Disagree0

GET A GRIP GUYS! A fit McFadden walks into the Celtic team, I posted earlier offer him a pay as you play deal and everyones a winner

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he could be a good signing if he can stay fit. Really can change a game. Looks like Commons may be punted soon so able replacement if he is sold. I agree that we need to sort out our defence but I think one real quality central defender would do it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Enough deadwood and malcontents McFadden would only add to oour problems nl needs a consistent team without all the chopping and changing

Agree0 Disagree0

This has got Freddy Ljunberg written all over it. Another panic move to appease the concern from the support. Paddy McCourt (at least for me) is just as good as mcfadden (who also is only worth 20mins a game) and he cant get a game for love nor money. how many players can we take on board that cost small fortunes by our standards, and hardly kick a ball (Ljunberg, Rasmussen, Commons?, Balde, Murphy, hooiveld, etc etc etc). The decisions made for pecuring players is driving me flipping mental!

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers fans are so pathetic making up rumours about our best players going, get a life!

Agree0 Disagree0

To all those saying Mcfadden is injury prone etc. here is his playing record since 2002.

2002/03 played 38 games
2003/04 played 40 games
2004/05 played 35 games
2005/06 played 47 games
2006/07 played 25 games (was out injured for 3 months with a metatarsil injury)
2007/08 played 38 games
2008/09 played 35 games
2009/10 played 43 games
2010/11 played 8 games (done cruciate ligament out for a year

So the times he has missed out are big injuries. seem to remember henrik was out for nearly a season, then about 6-7 weeks with a broken jaw. Not saying he would be a great signing but think this blows the myth out of the water of playing time. {Ed007's Note - Since season 2007/08 he has had recurring knee problems that have kept him out sporadically for the odd month here and there and out of singular matches. It is not his last injury that is a major concern, it is his long term knee problems.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I see your point ed but look at the games played. if we were to get 30 games a season from him pay-as-you play deal at first could turn out to be a good piece of business. I am not saying I definately want him but if it was on these terms, then i would not say no. plus I see him doing better than some of the current bunch i.e Mccourt, samaras in either of these positions {Ed007's Note - That's it though, it is all ifs and buts. I seriously doubt it will be a pay as you play deal, if he would accept that an English team would have took the risk IMO. Nobody made him any sort of concrete offer. Do CFC really need him?}

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with most of what u are sayin. but what have we got thats better at the moment? free transfer and it might only be a short term deal with the chance of a longer contract if u take into consideration the way celtic have done business in the last couple of years. {Ed007's Note - If it doesn't work out though what would have been the point? We have tried this stuff to often and had our fingers burnt. I don't think it is worth the gamble. I hope I am wrong but I doubt it.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I think if he is fit he will turn out to be a great signing, He is like one of us Celtic to the core. He will burst a gut for Celtic something that seems to be missing at the moment maybe his commitment will rub off on a few others and get the team going, He has plenty of experience having played in the epl and for Scotland and is only 28 ffs.

hooper off to newcastle source scottish sun faddy for celtic source daily record liewell must really piss all you dafties right off mcfadden is a hasbeen and if hooper goes you can say goodbye to the already slim chance of winning the league oh well fail fail reggietheblue

Believable11 Unbelievable14

A hasbeen at 28, get real, his best days are probably still ahead of him. Could be a really good signing.

Agree0 Disagree0

If you believe everything you read in those rags, it would appear that Celtic are to sign McFadden, at least we can afford his wage demands and McFadden has realised that there may not be a Rangers later in the year.
As for Hooper he will not go to Newcastle as he is a player with ambition, this is bourne out in his move to Celtic.

Agree0 Disagree0

What a bunch of gulible muppets the celtic board must think we are the agm is tommorrow and they hit us with this pish nobody else wants him

Celtic apparently trying to get McFadden according to tomorrow's daily rectum.

Bunny Munro

Believable7 Unbelievable3

This has been doing the rounds for so long I am beginning to believe it. If he has still got it he would be worth signing but on a pay as you play type of deal

Agree0 Disagree0

Heard something about this at the weekend but I thought the player wanted to stay down south. Good player if he can stay away from injuries. Will probably give him the No7 shirt.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol! That has got to be the gayest name ever, how can can you take seriously anyone called Bunny Munro!?
