Ed you obviously watch more football than us mere mortals so who would you like to see brought in to give us a bit of height and presence up front? {Ed007's Note - How about Kim Ojo, a Nigerian who plays for Sk Brann in Norway. Hamburg, Besiktas and Chievo have all shown an interest in him and he would only cost around 1 million Euros. He has just turned 24 and is 6ft 3 1/2inches tall, with 15 goals and 10 assists in 34 games this season.

Believable12 Unbelievable1

Do celtic have an interest in him ed. Iv heard good things about him too

Celticthomas {Ed007's Note - Not that I know of Thomas but he certainly meets the current criteria of players we would be looking at.}

Agree0 Disagree0

To be honest ed every goal the defence looks a bit weak. Remember Charlie Miller shone in the Norwegian league. But does look quite good. {Ed007's Note - You could say the same about the SPL defences.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Charlie miller?? Away back to yer wee turd division page pal,.,.kbarry

Agree0 Disagree0

@3 why would I do that? I have no interest in the 3rd division and other that point and laugh no interest in the zombies. Mentioning CM was just an indication of the strenght of the Norwegian league. Yes he played for Oldco but then went on to try and get a gig with another SPL side, when he never got one he headed of for Brann and was a stand out in the team inspite of being fatter than me.

The turd division thats a peach pure funny lol. First time iv heard that one don't no if im just easily amused ..wee darn

Agree0 Disagree0

Defence looking a bit weak? That's usually the case when a goal is scored is it not? Would love this lad to sign and have fantasised about it for a couple seasons now.

Agree1 Disagree0

See tbh the Norwegian league is basically the same calibre of the spl so I think he,s a shout! The only problem is that we have alot of strikers and stokes coming back also.
If Miku ends his loan spell then yeah ad definetely go for him, exactly what we need and a tall clinical goalscorer, lassads tall aswell(6ft,2) but has 27 in 99 or something and lets face it he,s a good impact player but we always seem to buy gems from the unknown leagues and progressing them very very well so a think this guys a good call in Jan if not the summer.
If he came in January, could he be registered for the cl?

Believable16 Unbelievable15

Guinness Arena.

Just heard from a mate that Lenny has been very impressed with Sheridans development since leaving us.So much so that a cheeky wee bid has been talked about, maybe in January.In my opinion i think it might be a good fit and would not break the bank.I also think he has matured into a much better player than the raw youngster we saw. A classic case of first team football being the best way to develop a player? You had a sniff of that one ED?..........green jhedi {Ed007's Note - I have not GJ, I don't know if I would be keen on it or not.}

Believable1 Unbelievable14

I have been posting for weeks that
Sheridan would be a good buy better than mika anyway also note The Rangers don't want to join new spl well we don't want them has anyone noticed that this year there has been less trouble less bile and more harmony at the games nowadays and we have a better spl for it with larger crowds

Agree1 Disagree0

The big Cavan lad has come on a bit ok GJ ... Not sure if he'd get in ahead of Lassad thou ...He seems to be shaping up rightly too ...TTTS

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't see it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sheridan will not come back. He's too good to return if you know where I'm coming from. When Mulgrew returned, it was because Lennon saw something in him from the previous season at Aberdeen. Sheridan will go down South to the Championship soon.

Agree0 Disagree0

Pleased sheridans done well since leavin us but honestly not convinced hes quite good enough for us. Thats my oppinion anyway HH

ed just seen a post about players out of contract in the summer here they are just a few.....
Andrey Arshavin (too old )
Kolo Toure (do a job)
Brede Hangeland (great player)
Maynor Figueroa (no chance)
Sylvain Distan (would take)
Anatoliy Tymoschuk ( get 6 months from him)
Lewis Holtby
Moussa Sissikho
Rod Fanni
Siaka Tienne
Nene
Vasillis Torrosidis
McDonald Mariga
Mathieu Flamini
Douglas
Maralim Sulejmani
Keisuki Hondo (ends in Jan/Feb)

ed you think any would be worth a bid in january? {Ed007's Note - There is some decent players in there but wages would be a problem.}

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Do u recon celtic could sign sessengong ?

Agree0 Disagree0

Being realistic we wouldn't get any of them. Even the one's i think would come (Tymoschuk, Mariga, Flamini) the wages would kill the deal. Tymoschuk for example will get a big offer from Kiev or Shakhtar to go back to ukraine. Mariga and Flamini will be on fortunes Mariga having made a big money move to Inter in 2010 and Flamini signing for free from Arsenal and having been a bosman a big wage and signing on fee goes with that. Neither are world beaters in my opinion. Torrisidis is a left back where we could do with cover but haven't seen him play much so can't comment on him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rod fanny souns intrestin bit that wee honda kin get oan is bike!
whit

Agree0 Disagree0

Hearing rafa Marquez has been released by NY red bulls.. Worth a shot perhaps?

Agree0 Disagree0

Arshavin too old ? Isn't he just around 31 ? I'd take him in a heartbeat, though there is no way we could afford his wages.

Agree0 Disagree0

The best guys on that list are all being associated in the Scottish red tops with Ally McCoist. He sent the list up the chimney last week.

Agree0 Disagree0

Douglas is a cracking player

Agree0 Disagree0

Would explode if we got holtby fantastic player

Agree0 Disagree0

I believe rangers should sign rod(9th player down on list) he would be joining his brothers and come from a long line of fanni's,.,.kbarry

Agree0 Disagree0

Toure, distain, sissokho, flamini dont be stupid couldn't attract any of these even with champions league football

Agree0 Disagree0

Of that lot i'd take McDonald Mariga (Victor's big brother) and Lewis Holtby from Schalke 04 .

ED007 I see thoughts are now turning to signings again.
What about in summer go after Jordan Rhodes again? A £5m bid I think would tempt Blackburn especially as he is on big wages and they do not make even playoffs.
Also if Hooper goes, he would be the perfect replacement. Timalloy {Ed007's Note - I still maintain that it was the strangest transfer of the whole summer Tim, he was never going to move to an upper level EPL team but to move to another Championship team was odd to say the least. Huddersfield will lose out on the add ons for promotion etc from Blackburn and will get nowhere near the £8 million fee, that was dependant on Blackburn being promoted and staying in the EPL and the set fee, the minimum Blackburn have to pay, is being spread over the five years of Rhodes contract. If Blackburn sell him in the summer they will have to pay the set minimum amount in full.
It was £4 million that was the guaranteed amount so that is £800k per season for the duration of the deal, so there will be a £3.2 million outstanding balance on that, so a bid of £5 million would allow Blackburn to pay Huddersfield the outstanding £3.2 million and make £1.8 million profit.
Some people behind the scenes seem to think that if CFC had been open to selling Stokes to Huddersfield in a player plus cash deal, it would have tipped the scales in our favour over signing Rhodes.}

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Ed are you serious? Can't believe we would not think or did that to get Rhodes. Stokes is good and all but he is way to selfish and complains to much(not to mention recent things) and think rhodes would have been an up grade and better match with hooper. Ed do you think we would go after Rhodes? Him and watt for the future would be nice to see as I think they would stay for a many a years if everything goes right. {Ed007's Note - I would like to see us going back in for him but I doubt whether the board would sanction such a move.}

Agree0 Disagree0

As i said in 2011-12, jordan rhodes not good enough for celtic

Agree0 Disagree0

Your standards must be a bit too high mate if you don't think big Rhodes is good enough for us! The big man would run amok up here. I still think we should have paid the extra cash needed tae secure the bhoy n punt huffy Stokes attitude problems and all.

I'd love to see us getting Olof Melberg to play alongside Ambrose at the back. He'd be perfect. Although big Kelvin has been good he's a disaster waiting to happen. I can't see us selling anyone in January now that we've qualified and with Stokes coming back we'll be fine up front. Add Mackay-Steven and we'll be good to go.

Anton

Believable6 Unbelievable22

35 year old Centre half to replace a pacy 27 year old one. Face it mate when mellberg was good enough, he was playing in the premiership on 40k a week. You might be suggesting experience which i cant argue with but 35 year olds with no pace is Majstorovic all over again.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Dec 2012 13:00:15
think mellberg is a long way past his best. dont think you really need defenders the main problem with celtic seems to be that izzaguire is having problems since he was injured and is not the same player as last season. you probably could do with another left back. also on last night's perfomance it was nothing short of poor and you can say that you struggle to get up for the smaller games but this is bread and butter the champions league is a bonus. the attitude was all wrong last night and you could easily have lost the game which you probably should have giving the disallowed goal was harsh and the arbroath player was clean through on goal. the player's need to treat these games seriously and not take them for granted. if you see what happened to rangers earlier in season they are playing teams who quite simply have nothing to lose and will fight one hundred times harder than they would in a normal game. and forster although is a good shot stopper needs to command his box more he has the height but he looks weak at crosses and team's are beginning to recognise this as his weakness.

Agree0 Disagree1

There was no way we were going to lose last night. Solid, professional, if unspectacular performance.

Agree0 Disagree0

@2) To say we could easily have lost that game last night is just pure biased against Celtic. They had a goal disallowed for an arm on the back of the goalkeepers neck! So what! Its the way any other game is referee'd nowadays so why shouldn't Celtic's keeper get the same luxuries that every other keeper gets?? And i'm finding it hard to comprehend why NO ONE on here, any of the commentators, match reports have noticed that the whistle went straight after the foul and before it was knocked back in towards the 6 yard box for the boy Doris put it in the net... UNCHALLENGED!, BECAUSE OUR PLAYERS HAD STOPPED KNOWING THE FOUL HAD BEN GIVEN!!! There were 3 men on the line who could have blocked, booted or headed the ball clear! Why has nobody noticed this? Go and watch it and you will see what i mean. They missed a one on one because of the standard they are. We missed half a dozen good chances, one being a sitter! If your going to comment at least watch or pay attention to the stats and details of the game. I agree with above post. There was no way we were going to lose last night. If they had scored we had 3 or 4 more gears to up it to and we would have finished the job, no question about it.

Agree1 Disagree0

Watched the game, ambrosia was a nightmare at times, half arsed challanges where the opposition just seemed to walk past. other tackles were good. Not sure if he is the answer as center half, poss def mid, with another center half, move victor in center mid?

Agree0 Disagree0

Celtic never had 3 or 4 gears to move up, if they have 3 or 4 gears why not do it at parkhead in the last 5 mins. Was at the game at home shocking display.
