Can see a lot of people being unhappy with this. However, we are well short on strikers so I'm sure he'll just be a squad player, with cash there to bring in a quality striker.

Agree1 Disagree1

12 Jun 2016 22:36:44
Hope not. We don't need players released by clubs like Sunderland.

Agree1 Disagree2

12 Jun 2016 23:13:59
Well I for one hope it's garbage and there's nothing to it! Really underwhelming first signing if it did happen! Want a quality striker brought in to help wee Griffiths! But I've got faith in Brendan so hopefully he pulls something better out the bag!

The Danny Graham rumour is growing stv reporting it today fingers crossed it is just a rumour nothing in it.

Giving br worked under a committee for player signings at liverpool and a budget at swansea do we actually know what his type of player/ signing is? anybody ideas?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - he had final say on all the signings at Liverpool.}

13 Jun 2016 09:25:30
If Danny graham is first signing back him and hopefully he's a success trust Rodgers. Griffiths came from wolves and look at him know.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jun 2016 10:03:50
I watched an inter die with BR asking him how the committee worked and he said that the way it worked was that he and the rest of the committee would put a list of players together and if the player he wanted was not there he would have to then pick from that list. In the case of ballitelli he said that it was the owners who wanted to bring him in as they could not get the player they wanted and the owners wanted BR to work with him try get the best out of him and not BR choice. BR was asked if he questioned the owners and his response was that conversations where taken place to that affect but at the end of the day that's what the owners wanted and he went with it because there was nothing else. But hopefully he will not be working under a committee he will only be working against the financial constraints that we have.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - did he also mention why Balotelli ended up being the only option left to the club? That he had dithered over signing after signing that were set up, only for him to change his mind, in Loic Remy's case after a medical had been passed. He is spinning the truth massively as usual.}

13 Jun 2016 10:21:06
Heaney 1888 difference is Griffiths scored goals

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jun 2016 10:28:33
He said that they thought they were getting Alexis Sanchez who would be able to press in high areas of the park replacing Swarez spelling wae off sorry. But he went to Arsenal so with time running out the committee wanted BR to go with Ballolelli in the hope it would work.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - he knew we weren't getting Sanchez, because Sanchez had ben extremely open with regards to wanting to go to London.}

12 Jun 2016 23:09:16
Surely no have you heard anything on this ED? Graham being the first new signing.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I thought he was going to Blackburn Rovers Rich.}

13 Jun 2016 12:17:48
Blackburn still trying to get Graham.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Yes.}

13 Jun 2016 19:06:03
The committee wanted balotelli not BR he went along with the structure set out by the club as far as loic remy goes what has he done in the last year gather blisters on his arse in a poor Chelsea team my god anything to beat the man.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - ok mate you know f all about the situation but you go on in your dream world and lie to yourself about what went on. As for what Remy has done since, how is that relevant? No one is trying to beat the man, it is pointing out the truth and not the spin coming from his mouth.}

13 Jun 2016 19:24:43
U mentioned remy as if BR should have signed him but didn't, your hatred for BR is quite alarming since he nearly won u your first title in 26 years all be it for a Gerard slip.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - hatred? You are not very bright, I have mentioned many times he is a nice guy, I am not a child like you and can separate personal and business. I mentioned Remy as an example of a player that he chose, that was lined up and then he changed his mind after dithering over the deal. Never said he should have signed him, only you are saying that, I was simply pointing out that it was his own fault Balotelli was all that was left to him. His record on signing forwards is appalling, he signed large numbers of them, and never got anything out of any of them. Most of the time he never even gave them a game, such as Ricky Lambert and Fabio Borini, after convincing the club to sign them.}

13 Jun 2016 19:56:19
U could say that about most managers players they wanted players they didn't some work some don't, a take it he had final say on lallana, lovren, cline couthino Sturbridge?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - yes he did, though Lallana and Clyne are awful and Lovren was dreadful under him. Couts and Studger were excellent signings. The only two he got right.}

13 Jun 2016 20:07:06
Agree on lallana and lovren although thought he did better this season, do u not fancy can or monero.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Can improved massively once Rodgers stopped playing him in defence, like Lovren, he improved under Kopp. Moreno is rubbish, he is so thick it is frustrating. Quick but useless.}

13 Jun 2016 20:49:22
Who signed Simon Minging 001?

Surely even you recognize that he is the worst gk in the epl?

12 million or so fur fox sake you should have phoned the trade description act lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - he was a Rodgers choice and he is far worse than that! He can not even kick a ball.}

13 Jun 2016 20:55:34
Lovern is pish lol c'mon Ed bar that goal against Dortmund he's bn dreadful agree that Clyne n Lallana have improved under him but he's rank that Lovern lol.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - Lovren has been mainly very good under Klopp. Unlike Clyne or Lallana, who are just not good enough.}

13 Jun 2016 21:11:23
No impressed way him mate big VVD looks 10 times a player compared to him in my opinion saying that yous might get him anyway yous love a Southampton player lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jun 2016 00:41:14
The Danny Graham done deal seems about right as he has had a medical at Blackburn on. Monday morning.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jun 2016 21:53:33
001 I know you are not a fan of big FF @saints but do you not think that that is exactly what Liverpool are missing? The trio of saints players that are ex Celtic? A tough midfielder, a quality CH like VVD and the goalie? That is really what you missing also thought you would have went for Havard Nordveidt who has went to West ham that must be the best bosman so far of the epl?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - we just bought a keeper, and we had a flapper already, why would we want another in Forster? Wanyama can't pass, has attitude issues and goes missing in games, no thanks. And Van Dijk? He can't defend and relies on pace, again no thanks. He is a typical modern day centre half, great on the ball but not a particularly good defender. We need quality, not average players like that. The issue at Liverpool was mainly down to the manager, but now we have fixed that issue, we have already brought in 3 players for the positions you mentioned, so they should not be an issue. It is left back that is our priority because Moreno is utterly woeful.}

14 Jun 2016 08:32:35
I heard I little while ago Ed001 that Liverpool were actively trying to sign kieran Tierney is this true.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - there is defo interest from Liverpool yes.}

12 Jun 2016 17:33:42
With all the speculation regarding who BR will sign i would be very grateful if he could pubically state position on Steven Fletcher.

Every transfer window we are linked with plug off the bash street kids and its nots only really worrying but also very irritating. Beginning to think its media at wind ups.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

12 Jun 2016 17:57:15
Sick of hearing this crap that he'd bang them in up here.
He's never banged them in ANYWHERE.
His strike rate ain't much better than coles and look how that turn out.

Agree1 Disagree1

12 Jun 2016 18:25:29
I am really underwhelmed by the quality of the players we are being linked with I was hoping with BR coming in was a sign DD was going to spend some money on real quality unless we are doing deals extremely hush hush none I have heard us linked with has excited me especially Steven fletcher done nowt in his career except get big money moves that boggles the mind guy he should be done for fraud for masquerading as a footballer.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 Jun 2016 18:43:04
Celtic keep the business to themselves until its finalised unlike the mob from Govan that tell the media every player they are interested in. and for me that's the way we should keep it.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 Jun 2016 18:58:47
Due to the euros any quality players will be busy with them, think you'll find any big transfers will need to wait til euros are over. Which is difficult with hamps lge qualifiers being so close, might need to go with what we've got fo 1st qualifiers.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jun 2016 19:11:10
I agree with the poster about keeping quiet, we always do Sviatchenko came out of nowhere and that's why I don't pay attention to the papers.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jun 2016 19:17:42
personally I would rather Celtic trawled the lower end teams of seria a and la liga and second tier teams of those leagues instead of English lower leagues where they are over hyped and over priced and much less technically gifted.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jun 2016 20:00:57
Don't believe anything you read in the papers or on any website, Celtic never mention who they are after or trying to sign, everything is just shit made up by the hun loving media.

Agree0 Disagree1

12 Jun 2016 20:19:38
The quicker Steven fletcher retires the better! He is a player who has always been looked at as the one who got away but it was a lucky escape in my eyes!

Agree3 Disagree0

12 Jun 2016 23:58:01
Fletcher would do the business for us n Graham had bit of a rough time at Sunderland but was decent at Swansea and Watford. I think they 2 in for stokes, Cole, richards n sceptic is a step fwd. Snodgrass n I wouldn't mind caulker from QPR, n we'd qualify for Co n win league IMO.

Agree0 Disagree1

13 Jun 2016 09:14:32
How can you say he will do the business for us when he hasn't done it for any team he has played for?

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jun 2016 00:43:24
Fletcher has been popular with a group of Celtic fans since WGS time . He has never been as popular with the Celtic Managers, thank God.

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Jun 2016 08:34:06
Lower leagues . we signed scepovic from Spain and michu from Spain too and they were woeful.

12 Jun 2016 15:56:57
Bradley Dack Gillingham and Matty Taylor appear to be on radar.

Believable0 Unbelievable5

12 Jun 2016 12:28:17
The media saying that Liverpool want £10million for Allen. Rules us out then. Looking forward to seeing what Oliver Norwood is about today against Poland. A neat and tidy centre mid who keeps things ticking over has to a priority. I rate Bitton but he slows things down too often.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

12 Jun 2016 14:13:58
Totally agree about Bitton, I wouldn't say I rate him, there was a reason Lenny didn't pick him and I think we seen that reason last season, too often we would build up momentum pass him the ball and momentum was gone instantly, takes ages to make a pass far too many touches of the ball before he makes the pass. What I did notice was when he was out the team towards the end of season we played much better football. I'd like to see him sold and give young McGregor a chance in there along side broonie, every time the boy played there he looked good and he added a little bit of pace as well, much more fluent as a team. People will probably disagree with me, but I wouldn't be worried or care if Bitton was sold.

Agree6 Disagree0

12 Jun 2016 14:34:05
Celtic should be shopping in European markets and beyond (Africa etc) rather than pay EPL prices where everything is over inflated. We should operate as a window to the EPL for European players as our business plan as we did with Wanyama, Van Dyke etc. get few years out them and move them on at a profit with sell on clauses as we have done. Scouting system needs to be good enough to find the talent cheaper places and where there are better players than in England.

Agree4 Disagree0

12 Jun 2016 14:36:40
Given the choice I would keep SJ before Biton.

Agree4 Disagree1

12 Jun 2016 14:48:28
Island Celt he certainly has a lot more drive and if he could recapture the form of 2 seasons ago it would be a no brainer.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jun 2016 15:09:51
Biton has no bottle he showed that in the game against the forces of darkness and evil. SJ deserves a chance in my view to recapture his previous form under BR. But to reiterate NB for me is a big girls blouse.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 Jun 2016 15:35:30
McGregor is one I expect to see improve massively under Rodgers. He could well be the player to take up that role in midfield. Played well towards the end of the season. Also think Armstrong could improve if played as part of a central midfield 3.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jun 2016 15:45:00
Mcgregor is a very under rated player in my opinion
Don't know if he will be come a first pick every week but every squad needs a utility player like him

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jun 2016 16:15:10
JFP1888, we can't go to African, South American countries to pick up talent due to work permit rules. Anyway, I've heard today from a very good source that Danny Graham is signing next week. not happy, but hope to be proved wrong.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jun 2016 16:39:08
Kev1962 I would share your disappointment if DG is signed. Hardly the marquee signing that potentially 50,000 season tickets plus sold should merit. It reinforces my point that there must be better available across Europe. Just look at talent on display at Euros. If Celtic don't back Brendan Rodgers with appropriate level of funding after buying tickets in our 1000s this whole thing could backfire big time. After RD and what we've watched over last few years the kidding has to stop. Anything else will be business suicide on DDs part. A bit of Fergus Foresite needed here.

Heard from a very reliable source that brendan rodgers is happy with the current squad and won't make any signings this summer.

12 Jun 2016 11:54:37
Aye okay pal.

12 Jun 2016 11:56:19
So he is happy with one proven striker aye right then.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jun 2016 12:09:14
Hahaha he's back again! More garbage once again! Should u not be organising your things for school 2morrow wee man, and not be on here spouting nonsense! Reliable source! 😂😂😂.

12 Jun 2016 12:12:50
Is that your usual unreliable source then? Like kevin bridges says, did ye aye.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jun 2016 12:14:53
Any manager wants to improve his side y Rodgers would be happy with no strikers apart from griffiths and one reliable right back and a mismatch of midfielders that he can't be sure of where the are best suited is beyond me. He must make signings and improve the squad not quantity but quality!

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jun 2016 12:31:15

12 Jun 2016 14:42:25
Is that the same source that told you malky McKay was getting the managers job? Think you should be more worried about the magic prat being missing in action.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 Jun 2016 16:20:50
I heard from a reliable source that he wants to ditch current squad completely and re-sign the 2000/ 2001 squad.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jun 2016 16:52:15
Why should it be a problem that we have only one striker?
Is it not a fact we played our best with no strikers and won 7 nil? 😊😄😀.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jun 2016 19:31:11
Watch and see, no signings, rodgers sacked and then malky mackay in by xmas. Then we'll win everything.
