Hi Guys, Love the site keep up the good work. I think I have read on here a couple of transfer windows ago that we were supposedly looking at the SK Brann Striker Kim Ojo. I happened to watch a SK Brann game a while back and I was very impressed he is big, fast, strong just the sort of striker we are lacking in my opinion. What you think ed? Cheers lads {Ed007's Note - I posted a video of Kim Ojo a few weeks ago. Although you shouldn't judge a player solely from Youtube it gives you some kind of idea of his attributes. Use the search function to find him by name or by the timestamp of:

Seen Eds video, and also seen other teams attractions to him! Looks decent, and I guess that's why a couple of EPL teams as well as others limked with him which could be our biggest prob.

Not a rumour but adam le fondre....anyone think he'd be a decent punt for the SPL, not sure about price range or wages...but everytime I see reading in action, he shots he scores, he has a decent goalscoring record although at the lower levels of english football, but that's where hooper learned his trade and now look at him. I know le fondre at 26 isn't what our usual signing policy would be, but I reckon he could make a decent impact and is a proven goalscorer knows how to finish.

Believable3 Unbelievable16

Linked with him before, type of player that would score goals for fun in SPL for Celtic anyway with the amount of possession/chances we have. Reported 400.000 the last time? He doesn't jump out at me anymore, unless its a no brainer the young strikers should get a chance before most!

Bigbadjohn

Agree0 Disagree0

Personally i'd rather go for charlie austin would cost more than la fondre but imo a far better player

my mate is pally with a couple of st mirren players, and they told him that celtic have made a move for midfielder kenny mclean, apparently see palace, wolves and southamton, have made bids of around 700k, but celtic won't bid that much but will make up the difference with a some loan agreements and a big sell on clause,,, can see it happening there's been a good relationship between the 2 clubs in recent years,, and he's a cracking prospect he's just turned 21,,,

Believable11 Unbelievable21

Any truth ed in the report in the sun about the young American will be signing over the weekend. If so do you know a rough figure. From what I've seen he has a pretty good record so far.
Daz the Hoopy {Ed007's Note - {Ed007's Note - Chivas are still saying the player is not for sale Daz and he flew out to LA from London last Saturday. The transfer system in the US makes it difficult to even guess at a transfer fee, sorry. The registrations are held by the MLS and transfers are negotiated with them - except under certain circumstances (the drafts etc.) NY Red Bulls are also due a percentage of any fee received for Agudelo.}

Believable1 Unbelievable3

ED do you think the boy would be a decent signing for celtic? If chivas let him go? {Ed007's Note - He is certainly highly rated by people better who are better qualified than me. I haven't seen enough of him to make a fair judgement.}

I have it on good accord that Paddy McCourt has asked Neil Lennon to let him see out the reminder of his contract at the the club as he wants to add another winners medal he also realises he will never get the chance to be part. Of a champions league squad again. Also I read here a couple of days ago Celtic were looking at young Jordan Larsson this rumour has been doing the rounds all season henrik has said he doesn't want Jordan moving away from home at a young age but he also hopes to see him wear a Celtic jersey for real one day. Miku will not return from Spain with Celtic as Neil Lennon has said he has impressed at all. Gary Hooper has told the Celtic board he wishes to stay until the end of the season because he feels he owes it to the fans. He wants premier league football. In coming I've heard a striker could be the young Colombian from the MLS and also an attacking midfielder is all that lenny is in the market for. Really can't see the LB Nigerian signing Gershon just arrived as cover for izzie who Lennon still believe he can turn his season round.

Bhoy in the know

Believable8 Unbelievable5

Guess work for a Bhoy in the know. Gershon, for me, will play as the left of a three in central defence, Why let Paddy go for free when we could get a fee? Miku cannot go anywhere is loan is still current(i think)Young colombian and attacking midfielder, you have heard? Where the papers? as it's been all over them for a week. What a great insider you are!.............green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

Seen better rumours in The Viz........DH

Agree0 Disagree0

"Bhoy in the know" you've just went with almost what the media are saying! And if that's your source then most of that will be wrong or coincidental, Gershon can play LB but won't unless emergency, he'll play as left CB in a 4 or left side in 3 at the back. Celtic can cut short Miku loan but think they will need to still pay up the rest of his contract? IMO I would pay it because he's a waste of a jersey! Things will be ticking over nicely in the background regarding players coming in, it's very rare the media know who's coming in untill it's a shoe in, again it's coincidental! Rogic is the only one with any credence to it as mjallby (that's my source) would like a deal to be done, need to fight off Sunderland Fulham Everton and reading tho?!

Bigbadjohn

Agree0 Disagree0

Bhoy in the know...Gershon wasn't brought in for cover for izzy, was brought in to cover efe ambrose being away at africa cup of nations! He's a left sided CB. And the rest of your stuff has been in the papers over the past 3 days or so....and we all said in september hooper would leave at the end of the season not in january unless a crackin offer came in for him.

Agree0 Disagree0

If McCourt did go up to nl and say that then I would say sry but we are gettin money for you if we can. McCourt has sat on the bench long enough eating up wages and doing nothing collecting the trophies and he wants one more and sit on the bench? He should have been gone 2 seasons ago and if Celtic allow this to happen I would be mad because we could use that few hour hundred thousand on a young talented gem.

Agree0 Disagree0

Green jhedi I think miku can go on loan at another team aslong as that team take him on the same contract basis as celtic did, if he ended up back a getafe we would have to pay a fee for his early return, but if celtic, getafe and miku can agree another loan with another team then I think he can move on....not 100% sure but that just happened with sahin who was on loan at liverpool from real madrid, dortmund agreed to take over his loan agreement for the rest of the season.

Agree0 Disagree0

If miku went out on loan again then he would have played for 3 teams in 1 season which isnt allowed (assuming he played a game for getafe) just a thought on the last comment.

I here Alex Pierce is out of contract in the summer.I know we have decent cover in defence but i saw a lot of him last season in the championship and he looked a great player not seen to much of him this year though what does every body else think. Davie c

been looking at the boy aguledo aged 21 6ft 1, goal average of one in 5.8 games played 53 games and if the stories are to be believed would cost 3mill. as much as i would like to see us spending money compare him to tony watt age 19 6ft goal average of one in 3.3 played 33 games . having never seen him or the mls these stats might not paint a true picture and of course the price might be reported wrong, does anyone think for 3 mill we should be trying to get an established proven goalscorer,,, deep river bhoy

Believable4 Unbelievable8

Can't see us paying 3m for him to be honest, I think the fee will be in the region of 1million, you make a good point about Tony Watt, however the American boy obviously is something different to what we've got. Could be the case he's worth 6-7m in the next few years. Sounds as if he made a big impression when on trial at Lennoxtown. Ian L

Agree0 Disagree0

Look at celtics signings since lennon took over. he has took these players without much of a reputation and turned them into sought after players, if this lad is anything like he is made out to be then 3million could be a bargain, hooper cost 2 and a half million and is worth at least treble that now. i think tony watt will still get hia chance but with hooper more than likley to be gone next season anguelo and watt could be the partnership he will go with. buy young and cheapish and sell on for a profit is our game nowadays.

Hooper leaving, so & so signing. Same old transfer stories regurgitated every window.

A guy in my work is mates with Mark Lawwell, Peter's son, who is now working for Man City.

Apparently, there have been zero bids for Hooper or Wanyama. Main interest is in Kayal.

They are trying to secure another striker, but it's proving difficult.

McCourt has said he's staying, even as a squad player, so don't expect activity there.

Jamesey Bhoy

Believable6 Unbelievable8

I would sell Kayal. Think he pulled the wool over our eyes, had a decent first season and we extended his deal, I don't think he's kicked a ball since.Ian L

Agree1 Disagree2

Not kicked a ball since! Do you watch celtic games or are you a teletext fan? The boy has been coming onto a game recently, and who would lenny drop to put him in team? Wanyama! Broon? If lenny dropped they two I bet ud be on here moaning, remember who is infront of him in the team then make a call. To say he has pulled the wool over our eyes is way off the mark, I just think he has found it hard to get into the team...and the way big vic and co have been playin a lot of players would struggle to get in the team. The boy that needs to go is mccourt, he's not gettin games and I don't think he is good enough...a flash of skill every 6 games or so isn't good enough for a celtic team, I'd let him go for free just to get him off the wage bill

Agree0 Disagree0

You appear to know an awful lot about me are you my shadow? If you cast your mind back Kayal couldn't get in the team when Ledley was fit. Kayal will be back on the bench when Ledley is fit. Reason for that is Brown Wanyama & Ledley have more to offer in central midfield that Kayal. Ian L

Agree0 Disagree0

I would sell kayal as well. 4th choice centre mid. Weak in the air, gets shoved off the ball too easy when we play better teams, shooting is horrendous he's a good ball winner that's all. If we could get 4 million I'd bite their hand off.

Agree0 Disagree0

4m would be a great bit of business, however don't think any club in their right mind would pay that for an injury prone midfielder who scores a goal once a year. I don't think he would be missed if he's sold. Ian L

Heard from a family friend who lives in London and works at stamford bridge apparently chelsea have offered attacking midfielder marko marin until end of season. Could be the attacking option we need in midfield

Believable4 Unbelievable11

As much as i think he would be great for celtic i don't see him coming to scotland!

Agree0 Disagree0

He would be an amazing addition but I'd imagine it would be a no-go unless Chelsea were going to cover half his wages. Anyway, I don't think its the kind of loan we should go for (ie expensive short term, no squad development) The only time we should really do that would be for covering a long term injury. The loan for Gershon with option to buy if he fits is a better tactic. Having said that, Chelsea do have a young Centre Half who would have provided great SPL cover for Ambrose if we hadn't got Gershon. His name is Nathaniel Chalobah, 18 years old and perhaps the next big thing to come out of stamford bridge-can play Vic-type role in midfield too (not comparing them but he is good). Chelsea have loaned him out to Watford this year and will probably continue to loan him out next year to get first team action Not relevant for this window but could be a good fit for us in the Summer, get us a young, versatile player for a year without bursting the bank. Daviebhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Isnt he a winger?,, deep river bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

He's not an out and out winger...he's kinda like a modern day wide man...mcgeady sort of style, will cut inside more than take a man on down the flank, defo the kind of quality celtic could be doing with, but he doesn't fit celtics signin policy and I don't see chelsea sending him to the SPL for playing time, he will end up in spain or back in germany for a short spell.

Agree0 Disagree0

Marin is a Winger and while Chalobah has been played out right a few times his natural position is Centre Half with ability to play defensive mid. I did ramble a bit in my post Point I wanted to make is expensive temp loans are bad moves while try before buy or cheap loans to develop top flight boys are better moves. (realise the latter is us doing Donkey work for big clubs but we still benefit a more than we do from Marin type moves) Daviebhoy

I heard Celtic had a few replacement's in mind if Hooper leaves.

Kenwayne Jones, David Nugent and Danny Graham are all on Lennon's Radar money may be an issue tho!

Believable1 Unbelievable17

Jones is crap only scored double figures twice in his career, 10. 10, he is also one of the laziest players ive ever seen, nugent only slightly better, and graham is average,,,,, deep river bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

The only one I'd take is graham and at that it would be if we couldn't get anyone else, but we do need to remember that one of the in-form strikers of the EPL is keeping him on the bench...I don't even think hooper would get big michus' starting spot.

Agree0 Disagree0

Only one I would take as a replacement for hooper would be Graham, but Celtic won't pay the fee Swansea are lookin for, the other 2 are different in their own way but would still score plenty up here.

Bigbadjohn

Agree0 Disagree0

Load of rubbish... a replacement will not come from the Premiership or top end Championship. Nugent can't hit a barn door and Jones is similar. Danny Graham will not come to Celtic... not in the Celtic category of buying and selling on. One because he is too old and two because he isnt good enough

Agree0 Disagree0

And Grahams not good enough on what grounds? The only thing I can think of is that it's your opinion (If it is then fair enough) if not, your talking mince! I would love to have heard your thoughts when Hooper signed from a league 1 team FFS..

Bigbadjohn

Agree0 Disagree0

Bigbadjohn... it is definitely my opinion. I don't think he is good enough. Fair point on Hooper, I think my expectations were lower then than now; however, Hooper was significantly younger and was linked with Premiership clubs as well (in the form of Newcastle and other mid-table teams).

I honestly think there will be a replacement lined up, but we won't have heard of him and he'll be coming in from a much smaller league/team.

Sources close at lennoxtown are saying that the big talk is Gary Hooper will be offered a new contract worth 25k a week.
Hoopers decision to reject the last contract was mainly because he felt he was getting underpaid and felt he should be up there with our higher earners, (brown, ledley) nothing to do at all with homesick or the premiership!
The deal is that Hooper will play against juve and commit himself beyond the summer if he's definetely offered it, god I hope this is true!.
On another note, victor wanyama will also stay but only till the summer where arsenal and man utd are said to be about to table bids of around 12 -14m. He is ineligible to play in the cl for either 2 so that's why he, ll be off in the summer.
Just hope we replace all his attributes within our scouting department, HH

Markmck1888

Believable6 Unbelievable1

Hope your info is correct Mark, I'm a big fan of Hooper always have been, also when he gets a call up to the England squad it raises the profile of our club even more. Ian L

Agree0 Disagree0

Give him 30g a week or even 40g he deserves it, we can afford it now

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope your right m8 !

Agree0 Disagree0

40g a week! No chance. Not worth it. I think Hooper very good at taking chances but has weak points - 1st touch, taking men on & poor in the air - All Hail Henrick of Larsson who had all of these. Now there is someone who was worth 40K a week. Hooper - Good but not great IMO. Dhanbo
