Good news Champions League wise, we will be seeded for our Qualifiers, atleast we will avoid the danger teams that could end our Euro campaign before our defence of the SPL starts.

Believable17 Unbelievable2

Is there a write up about us being seeded? link?

Is there a list of possible opponents cheers?. mark

Agree0 Disagree0

Not sure if they can meet but Sligo Rovers and Cliftonville are both unseeded. TTTS

I saw this on STV. They have a small list of possible opponents that we could be facing. For an in depth look at the teams, check out wikipedia : Champs league 2013-2014 qualifications. It'll have a pretty good layout. Most leagues still don't have a winner though.

Cheers Ontario Bhoy just had a look on wiki. mark

Agree0 Disagree0

Is it not:
the first round we play in we are seeded, then it depends on the other teams who qualify (and their leagues) who is then seeded for the next round?

Agree0 Disagree0

Celtic are guaranteed to be seeded for all three of their potential fixtures in qualifying for the 2013/14 Champions League

Looking for opinions on the possibility of Lennon leaving. If he leaves (HUGE IF. I don't believe anything says) who should we go for? I see everyone is already pointing at ex Celts or Celtic supporters for the job. I know we all love Celtic fans to be in charge as we see them to be "one of us", but I think it might be our time to think outside the box. With TRFC missing for the foreseeable future we should have an easier ride in trying to win the league. This gives us the chance to cast our net wider and go for a foreign coach. With "them" missing it would relieve pressure on the new guy and give him time to change our style of play into something more attractive.

I look at teams like Swansea and Southampton with their foreign coaches with envy sometimes, they play lovely, fast, free flowing football. Maybe going this route should be a priority and not just an option.

I don't have names to throw in the hat but would be delighted if people had some ideas.

Just want to point out that I do not want Lennon to go, but everyone leaves at some point and If it was to be now It seems like it's the best time to trying something completely new.

Big Johan - said it the other week. He's been involved for a few years now and has shown he can handle the responsibility when Lennon has been banned in the past. Wouldn't cost the Earth and already has the backing of the fans - easy choice really.

Agree1 Disagree2

Your ides sounds good, but on small problem with regards to you comment about coaches from abroad, yeah they play fast attractive football, but they guys are with teams that go to pitches or stadiums every week and play on a top class surface, every ground in the premier league down south has that surface. Our very own neil lennon tried to play that way in his first season, but openly admitted he would have to change styles to suite the grounds he would be taking his team to, it is rare in the SPL for a team to have a good surface all year round except CP. In reality we could get a manager from abroad, but will that style of football your looking for be possible in our league with our low standard of surfaces'? I don't think it would, we forget Tony Mogga tried a similar style of play in the SPL an was found wanting!

Bit of an off-the-wall suggestion, but it just popped into my head after reading your post. I support Celtic and Athletic Club (Bilbao), it looks like Marcelo Bielsa will be leaving the latter this summer (another if, mind!) and if he does then personally I'd love to see him manage Celtic. Although, like yourself, I'm certainly not clamouring for Lennon to go - just answering your question! ;)

If Lennon goes then surely his backroom staff will go to. I would like for us to take a chance on someone like Moravcik as he has played all over europe and hopefully would encourage some of the younger BHOYS at the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would Love to see Martin O'Neill back though can't see that happening as he always needs money to spend. Mark Hughes and Roberto Di Matteo are available but can't see the SPL appealing to them. Jupp Heynckes is available and is due to retire, but could be convinced to take up a year contract in order to inprove his already impressive trophy haul.

Bring in a good German hungry to give the CL a go but cannot get there due to the big two.

I think the EPL and even the Championship can attract these bright foreign managers with the cash they have and the standard of football/opposition in those divisions.
Celtic are a huge, World renowned club in a very, very small pond; at a time when the rest of Scottish football is at a very low ebb.
If we do require a manager in the near future it will be a lot harder to attract a top candidate than ever before IMO.

A know he's still very young but what about John kennedy from the u20s.

Agree0 Disagree0

Are the posts on here for real? Contenders for one of the biggest clubs in the world and u think that just because u play for club elevates u to being equal to manage! Larsson? Why, did nothing in Sweden, if that was any other player with management record wld never b discussed. Kennedy, poster obv on drugs. Morachaik, again what experience?lennon won't go this time but when he does I hope the bar is a lot higher. Bigger concern wld b if he did go now what players he'd look to take with him. If Lenny goes it could be a blessing in disguise as long as he doesn't take Mr Park with him who imo is one of the most valuable members of staff at Celtic. Would love to see a more experienced, more tactically astute manager let loose on our talented squad. Stevie

Agree0 Disagree0

Sounds like your are all jumping the gun boys. Lennon's going nowhere and he is great for us so he better not go anywhere. Fran

Agree0 Disagree0

Stevo I don't think the poster is to far away with the John Kennedy shout, yeh fair enough he might not be ready yet, but there will come a time in the near future when he is ready, the same way barca done with Pep!

Slaven Bilic, although he's probably more than happy making millions in Russia. {Ed007's Note - I thought of him and then said the same as you... money.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont want Neil and his staff to go anywhere. But if he did Slavin Bilic could be a shout. Any opinions. JK

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Mortan Wieghorst is a good shout. He has experience as a coach and manager. He has contacts in Scandinavia and britian. He has the respect of the celtic fans. Plus he fits the celtic criteria, he's up and coming he's young and hungry.

Agree0 Disagree0

Owen Coyle will be next manager, that is certain.
HH Stathe

Agree1 Disagree0

Don't want owen coyle, he would only want the job cause he's no got one. he was offered it before mogga and said NO, why go back to him, like Manchester United etc if u say no to them, chance gone. I feel it should be the same with celtic, say no to us. chance gone!

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree. If Coyle refused the job before he should never be considered again. KL

Agree0 Disagree0

I can't see Lennon going anywhere. Everton would give him a fair whack of the Felliani (and Baines?) cash but what amount of cash would there be to stop him falling on his backside? That league is ridiculously competitive and anybody outside the top6 can easily see themselves in a relegation battle or thereabouts. Lennon would nosedive his growing stock with one bad year in the EPL-ffs, there are people doubting O'Neil's ability after a few dodgy months at Sunderland! I reckon Lennon will know that his stock can only really go from strength to strength with runs in CL/Europa and that EPL jobs will come along pretty regularly, whos job is safe down there? It would be the wrong move for Lennon and Everton but when the time comes for Lennon, I'd wish him the very best of luck and hope that we could attract someone like Zola or- dare I say it, a Laudrup! ;) Daviebhoy77

Agree0 Disagree0

Get a grip, you are talking about a manager that has been talking about trying to persuade players to stay and you think with these circumstances he will walk away.
I repeat get a grip.

Lost Bhoy just hit the nail on the head. Get a grip! Especially with the Laudrup chat.
God Bless Neil Lennon :) Fran

Thinking about players coming in like full backs an wingers but with the 433 system and the full backs overlapping this looks a lot like the old spearhead formation. Maybe we need some outside and inside lefts and rights. Where would we get a few of those?. Do they still make them. mark
